The festivities had worn Aldwin out, he was tired as all hell and only wanted to go to sleep. Yet here he was, giving the servants their last orders for the whole cleanup process. On top of his duties, he had to wish everyone who was staying in his palace a good night. A few lords, that were obviously beneath him in rank, tried to tag along in Aldwin's work but eventually grew to tired to make the rounds with him. Not that Aldwin truly wanted their company anyways, he always retained his good manners but their constant badgering to help them out with smooth words annoyed him to no end. When Aldwin was finally done with his work, he began to head back to his room. His sleep deprived body wanting nothing more than a good sleep.

woahhhhhh this new text stuffis supercoolcool hi Gwendolyn had retreated to her room not too long ago, having stayed outside to wish those who were leaving well, and oversee the cleanup of the ballroom. Once the guests left, Gwendolyn helped clean up, much to teh servants initial dismay. Some of them were agast - mostly those who were older - while most of the people her age eagerly talked to Gwendolyn when asked. Once the majority of the ballroom was done, Gwendolyn went on to her room (after having to ask a young maid to guide her). From there she was able to undress and put on a comfortable robe. A supply of oil lamps had been given to her, and Gwendolyn used them to read a heavy, leather bound book in a large chair.

I'm sorry, I haven't know how to reply to this for like 3 weeks :,( )) Aldwin had one last thing to do, check up on his wife. The amount of reports of wives running away after an arranged marriage was steadily rising, though Aldwin could understand why. Forced marriage was common, but unwanted. Aldwin arrived in front of Gwendolyn's door, with dark circles under his eyes. His hair was mussed and his whole happy demeanor was collapsing on itself. Ah, all Aldwin wanted to do was sleep for a whole day. Unfortunately, that was not possible. He gently knocked on Gwendolyn's door, and when he spoke, his voice was even and soft. "Hi Gwendolyn, it is me, I just wanted to make sure you have everything you need to get a good night's sleep." Normally, a newly married man would be at his wife's door for different reason but Aldwin was not like that. All he wanted was to make sure Gwendolyn was alright and then he'd crash into his bed.

Gwendolyn gently closed the book, and grabbed the lamp, which cast a gentle glow over her face when she opened the door, "Hello, Lord Aldwin. I have everything I need, so do not worry." Gwendolyn would admit she had been wary when Aldwin first knocked on her door, but after seeing how tired he was, knew that this was the end of her first day here.

Aldwin nodded, releasing a wide yawn before giving Gwendolyn a tired smile. "Well I will see you tomorrow then, please rest as much as you need to." Aldwin disappeared to his own room, changing into his night clothes before hopping into his bed and falling asleep.

ts to the morning, i assume Gwendolyn was not an early riser, but she did not sleep in very late. After waking, she called a maid to help her braid her hair and dress. She wore a simple outfit, a pale green with a plain bodice. The maid informed her that breakfast would begin soon, and after checking her appearance to make sure there were stains on the dress, Gwendolyn let herself be led to a smaller dining hall.

Aldwin took a long while to wake up, he'd been awoken in the middle of the night due to a disturbance on the northern corner of his palace and had to stay awake till it had been taken care of. He assumed that no one would actually bother him if he arrived to breakfast a little late. Especially with how he was looking more and more tired these days. Aldwin only woke up when one of his advisers knocked on his door, alerting Aldwin to the fact that breakfast would begin in a mere 5 minutes. It took the king a moment to fully awake, pushing through the hazy fog of sleep and readying himself for the breakfast. He wore a fine long sleeved blue tunic and his regular trousers. Aldwin didn't look very kingly, but the way he held himself spoke volumes. He expected to be respected regardless of what he was wearing, besides, the tunic was made out of very expensive material, as were the trousers.

It was a very small group at breakfast. It seemed all of the ladies were out, and the lords were probably milking their sore heads. It seemed the only people there were Aldwin's knights and advisors that hadn't gone to get him. There was some quiet chatter going about, and Gwendolyn listened carefully. Apparently there had been a disturbance at night, which was most likely the commotion she had heard. Aldwin was already exhausted... She doubted he would trust her with much, but perhaps she could help lessen the burden in some ways.

Aldwin entered the dining hall with an exhausted smile. His closest adviser running up to him and speaking to Aldwin quietly. "Most of the guests are out and about, or they have already finished breakfast, I hope you at least got a few hours of sleep my lord." Aldwin nodded at Roland before taking his seat, giving his customary hellos first.
