Ameras eyes lit up as she contemplated his words. She seemed elated that he was willing to talk to her. She had not expected him to be so... accommodating to their snarly greeting the day prior. She had not expected him to open up about his woes up upsets simply because he could. She did not expect anything of the sort from him, and it was frankly very surprising. She was glad for it, though. She acted so completely and utterly upset about the whole thing, however, she did not care. Not now, not at all. She seemed bewildered to have her old ally back next to her; seemingly, she was trying to forget the reason for breaking their allegiance. She just wanted a companion again, to let her worries go to and relax.

"Please, accept mine too. I was unruly yesterday, and you didn't deserve such aggression from my bitter mouth," the fae reasoned, stretching as she readied to move her libs. She could not stay seated for too long, or she would seize up; stiffen, the way you might see the brave old elders that resided in only the most guarded and pristine areas of the empty campsite. "Then perhaps, if that is your goal, I am the perfect step in the correct direction," the fae reasoned with a gummy-looking smile, innocent but still completely ready to clamp down.

The dame studied his expressions for a moment or two before softening her gaze at the brute. "You do not seem filled with unaltered joy when you speak of her, Bayne. That is not what I expect of you. I would only have expected you to be around someone you could only wag your mouth about. Is that not the case?" Amera found it truly bewildering that he didn't light up at the very mention of his mate. When she thought about such a companion, she would have assumed to be only filled with heartiness and joy. She wasn't feeling that from him. "Of course, you shouldn't have to answer thar if you'd feel better not to. That is your business alone, none of mine," Amera quickly added.

She was still a stranger to him. He need not answer any of her intrusive questions, though his face had brought it on. She expected him to be bouncing at the very mention of her. His plumage to be wafting frivolously, and yet, it was not. It bewildered her, it truly did. She didn't have a mate, but when, or if she met him, she assumed he'd be her entire love and joy and pride, all wrapped up in the shape of a lovable and respectable canine.

There was much doubt that would ever happen to her, now.

Ameras ears cocked to the brute as he spoke on his mission to accept acquaintances, even if they were simple beings such as herself. She supposed it made a mighty amount of sense. She then hummed curiously to him. "I'd like to discuss something with you. Is this waging war? I take it that, as beta, you'll have something to do with it?" The fae asked, ears curiously pricked forwards.

Bayne considered the spark of contentment flickering in Amera's irises with a scrutinizing stare that illustrated no emotion. His composure nested unwavering as he responded to her apologies with a sole, affirmative nod, courteously embracing the gesture with unyielding serenity. "I want to thank you for your apologies, Amera. It is an irrefutable fact that each of us encounters the occasional storm of unruliness, and I well understand how emotions can cause behaviors we subsequently regret. I admire your capacity to identify and address the effects of your actions."

As Amera emphasized her conviction that their conversation was a positive stride forward, Bayne became lost in thought, dissecting the layers of meaning behind her words.

"Unquestionably, if my ultimate objective is to forge new connections and deftly navigate uncharted domains, then engaging with you, Amera, opens the door to priceless insights and experiences---Our conversation is a stepping stone toward mutual understanding and personal improvement, establishing routes that may uncover uncharted horizons."

Amera recognized Bayne's apparent lack of ardor when describing his mate, and a flash of recognition flickered inside his irises. He dwelt steadfast in his deadpan expression, patiently weighing her comments before responding with controlled subtlety. "Your discernment is not without merit, Amera," he said, his voice monotone. "However, it is critical to emphasize that my affections for Galilahi are not characterized by the ardor and fervor commonly associated with love---Rather, they come from a deep appreciation for the crucial position she serves in our clan's complicated tapestry. Any connection, including ours, has multidimensional dynamics that are intertwined with the larger framework of our shared existence."

A brief hush hovered in the atmosphere as Bayne gingerly walked the fine line of personal revelation. "However, it is critical to recognize that my emotions, or lack thereof, do not define the entirety of our relationship---Galilahi's presence inside our clan serves an important function, fostering a collaborative partnership defined by mutual collaboration and equal duties."

Bayne's measured tone nested composed and calm as he spoke. "However, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your restraint in not inquiring further into this personal aspect of my existence---It is a place I intentionally protect within the parameters I believe are important for my personal well-being and for the tranquility of our clan."

Bayne's gaze blazed with fascination as Amera emphasized her interest in the possibility of conflict and his position as Beta. His senses were acutely aware of her every word. "The matter of war is indeed a labyrinthine tapestry, Amera," he stated, his steadfast stare set on hers. "As Beta, it is my responsibility to orchestrate the strategic and tactical aspects of our clan's defenses, ensuring the safety and overall well-being of our beloved kin---It is undeniably a difficult task that demands unalterable dedication and constant awareness, yet it is critical within the complicated web of clan dynamics."

Through both of their gazes, Bayne reinforced his connection with Amera with a real perception of genuineness. "However, let me be clear—my primary goal is founded on the pillars of harmony and equilibrium---War, in all of its heinous aspects, must always be regarded as the last resort, to be sought only after all other avenues for peaceful resolution have been properly exhausted. As Beta, I work hard to protect the essential pillars of our clan's ideals, carefully balancing power and diplomacy. It is my unequivocal pledge to lead our clan toward peaceful cohabitation, where problems are handled via communication and compromise wherever feasible."

Bayne's comments rang resonant with a firm sense of responsibility and a realistic viewpoint, his emotionless visage resolute. He waited for Amera's response, ready to delve deeper into their detailed talks or answer any remaining questions she might have. He expressed a great eagerness to engage in the subtle dance of understanding with each carefully selected phrase.

(Sorry again for the shortness and blandness of this one. I just did a 2hr English exam and I'm burnt out aha)

Amera nodded slowly as he spoke. She couldn't comprehend having a mate she couldn't stop wagging about. However, she understood it was to do with duty rather than care. She was glad she'd never have to worry about her clan to such an extent. She loved her clan. She gave her life for it, even if they wouldn't... or couldn't... do the same for her. She tried to understand though. She wanted to understand his duties to his clan and mate, even if it was out of her knowledge right then.

"I see," she muttered after a few short moments. "It makes me glad that I am not of your status. Perhaps that would make things easier for me, without any roles attached," she mused lightly before shaking her head. It would make not a difference. She knew that, but it was an amusing thought to the fae.

She looked curiously at his next words, about the war. He was level-headed... very level-headed, she could admit that. It was curious to see how he'd matured over the years.

"I suppose that makes sense. You don't want to cause more trouble than you can resolve, yes?" She asked curiously. "You must be a brave individual. I would go strait to war if I was in your shoes," she admitted as she found a spot to stop their wandering for but a moment.

Bayne inclined his head politely, appreciating Amera's excellent assessment of her lack of straightforward duties or responsibilities. "The lack of specific duties can provide a sense of liberation and uncomplicated existence---Nonetheless, it is critical to remember that every job, no matter its hierarchical level, comes with its own set of distinctive issues and duties."

He carefully considered Amera's statement on his attitude to battle, admiring her foresight in recognizing his reserved manner. "The pursuit of conflict resolution and the preservation of peace should always be the primary goal.'' As Amera frankly revealed her preference for more direct confrontation, Bayne maintained his controlled demeanor, his face devoid of surprise or judgment. "Each person has their own unique approach and innate strengths, Amera. Valor has many forms, and not all wars are fought with physical force. Diplomacy, negotiation, and the seeking of common ground are all critical in avoiding preventable slaughter."

He came to a halt, his sharp eyes roaming across the area, recognizing the conversation had come to a natural conclusion. "Amera, our conversation has been enlightening, but I must now return to the embrace of my clan---I am glad for our conversation, and I hope it has resulted in more clarity and mutual understanding." Bayne rose to his full height with a farewell nod, his gaze meeting Amera's for the final time. In that silent moment, he expressed tremendous respect and acknowledgment, emphasizing the significance of their encounter. As he turned to go, he carried the weight of their discourse, the complexities of their shared past, and the possibilities of their blossoming friendship with him.

It's all good! Hopefully it went well. ^^)

(I hope so! I need a break from writing loads aha. This one is super short, and te next few will be incredibly short over the next few days as I'm very busy.)

Amera soon bid her goodbyes to her old acquaintance and padded to continue her rounds of the boarders. She was a bit sceptical about getting back to her home, however, she wasn't sure at all how it would turn out later on. She had been sat at his side, and if she was to continue to do that, she wasn't sure if that would rub off on her; she'd had to admit that there had been a wolf on their borders and that she might be in insane amounts of trouble for a long old time. And the other clan, of which he was from, may have been in trouble. It was a worrying thought, but she could roll in mud before she entered the vicinity.

The fae crawled straight back into her little hole, resting her head on the cool ground as she tried to stay out of the way of the puppies storming around and the larger wolves dragging a very much mangled stag back to the prey pile.

She briefly wondered if she was truly befriending Bayne again, or if they'd continue to talk. If she were to eliminate the vile aspects of their past, then perhaps she'd be alright. Perhaps, she could, instead of hating him, miss the friendship they'd had as younglings. Reminisce on the good times, rather than simply being so completely and utterly upset about the way they had ceased to meet. They hadn't discussed another meeting, but if he wanted to meet with her, she was sure he'd put some effort into actually finding her himself if he still wanted to discuss aspects of his existence with her.

Bayne returned to his pack's territory as the first light of morning bathed the sky in pink and gold colors. He proceeded with purpose and a steady pace, his mind still analyzing Amera's talk. Thoughts raced through his mind, but his demeanor remained calm and deadpan. He could see her waiting for him as he reached the cove where he and Galilahi lived, her gaze scouring the horizon with a mix of fear and frustration. Her brow wrinkled and her lips pressed into a tight line, revealing her annoyance at his abrupt departure without explanation.

Galilahi, a powerful and resolute she-wolf, had a commanding presence. Her smooth, ebony fur glistened in the early morning light, and as Bayne neared, her eyes met his. Her eyes flashed with relief, but it was swiftly overwhelmed by her mounting irritation.

"You vanished without a trace," she asserted firmly, her voice tinged with sorrow and displeasure. "I was concerned, Bayne---Where have you gone?"

Bayne's glance briefly met hers, and while there was a tinge of regret in his eyes, his manner remained constant. "I had matters to attend to, Galilahi," he said coldly. "It was absolutely necessary for me to leave." Galilahi's rage grew, her tail twitching agitatedly. "Necessary? Without any explanation or regard for me? Bayne and I are mates. We need to speak with one another."

Bayne's reaction was calm and aloof, adding to Galilahi's annoyance. "Didn't I return unscathed?---There was no reason to be concerned."

Her eyes flared with a combination of pain and rage. "Is there any need? You can't just disregard my concerns and feelings. Bayne, we're made to work together. We must trust and support one another."

His voice was laced with irritation as he sighed gently. "I don't want to go into a long conversation about this, Galilahi. I must attend to urgent concerns---Be confident that I can handle myself." Galilahi's rage reached a boiling point, her voice becoming increasingly agitated. "Can you handle yourself?---Is that all there is to me? A little annoyance?"

Bayne's eyes tightened, and a flash of passion flashed over his face—an emotion swiftly concealed by his typical aloofness. "Galilahi, this is the end of the discussion---I don't have time for that. That is something I expect you to respect."

Bayne moved away with those final words, leaving Galilahi fuming with rage and hurt. As he withdrew to his duties and obligations within the pack, she watched him walk away, her look a combination of betrayal.

I'll be less active this weekend anyway, so, you'll have enough time to rest whilst I'll be busy! ^^))
