Tristan slipped his arms around her waist trying to soothe her. Deliberately going against the rules was hard for most angels, and she was no exception. She leaned against him, and sobbed, and he just stood there and took it. He looked over her shoulder at Ajax, and gave him a shrug and a look saying at least it worked, right?

Ajax nodded to Tristan and looked over at Echo. She seemed pleased with the plan, and Ajax was glad. He sat back down and laid his arm over her shoulder. Echo rolled her eyes and gave him a grin, snarkily saying, "Wow, you're a smooth one Ajax." Before they both laughed.

Finally Adina's sobs dried up, and she carefully wiped her face, leaving no trace of the event behind. Tristan led her back to the table, and they sat down, ready to discuss the finer details of the plan.
"The wedding is tomorrow," Adina said softly. "They're going to give us rings to exchange. We can re-exchange them after the first wedding."

Echo narrowed her eyes. "Ew. I'll have to wear a dress..." Ajax looked at her and laughed. "Are you still being like that?" Echo glared at him playfully. "You know how much I hate wearing them." She turned back to the angels. "It's a good plan. Another thing is that we have to convince the adults that we actually agree with their plan and that we are the couples that they want so that they'll let us out of the Complex."

Adina bit her lip.
"I don't think they're going to let us out of the complex. Even if they did, they'd force us to live as the couples they want, cut off from each other." Tristan sighed, and stared at his hands, trying to think of a new plan.

Ajax nodded. "I think what Echo was saying was that they'll let us out of the Complex for a little while, letting us visit home and our Realms possibly. Right?" Echo nodded. "As boring as this place is, it's a pretty good place to live."

Tristan looked skeptical.
"I still don't think they'll let us do that," he muttered, sticking up for Adina, who was standing up to go. He also stood, and followed her from the room.

Echo and Ajax watched as the two left, and the female demon rolled her head back and looked at Ajax upside down. "You wanna go to the roof?" Ajax smiled at her. "Is that where you went yesterday?" Echo just smirked and nodded. "Yeah, sure. I'll join you."

Tristan followed Adina to the common's area, a neat sitting room, and plopped down in a chair, studying her tired face.
"Didn't sleep well last night?" It was almost not even a question, just a statement.
The lovely girl rubbed her eyes. "It's just been so long since I've had a good time."
Tristan coaxed her into going to the gardens with him, and he helped her make a daisy chain.

Eco and Ajaz walked to one of the windows overlooking the garden and opened it. Echo grinned at Ajax and fell backward out the window, giving him a peace sign. Ajax rolled his eyes and jumped out after her, and the two spread their wings and glided up to the roof.
