Luna gave a nod, knowing they couldnt delay much longer. She took a deep breath and howled, calling the pack members to join them. As she watched them slowly gather around, before she spoke. "I know this is a rather large change for everyone, but this in the long run will help the packs. As for ranks, most of you will keep your current ranks, though as for my Beta, He will remain as Beta of the pack. Amaru, please come forward" she said. She watched as her beta made his way forward and nodded a polite greeting. "Thank you Luna. As I made my vow before, I will keep it as such to keep you and the pack safe" he stated as Luna smiled. "Good" she replied to him. "As for Hondo's former beta, he will have the new rank of Delta. This rank will have him second to the beta, and third to the alphas. Last but not least, the reason for the pack merges. I have found who I wish to have as my mate, and it's not who my father picked in our pack traditions" she told them. She heard a few of her pack memebers gasp a bit as it was rare to break tradition in the pack. "Hondo" she said, motioning for him to come forward.

Hondo nodded as she spoke, and gave Amura a wink for being named the new Beta. Hondo scanned the eyes of his new pack, seeing some of Luna's pack give him glances. As Luna spoke his name, Hondo stepped forward, so that he was right next to her. He heard the gasps of the pack, as he knew he was breaking tradition. Nicco, as she called out, flicked his ears at Fighter, the Delta, and gave a murderous stare at Hondo. Nicco would definitely cause problems in the future. Hondo gave a bow towards the surrounding members, ans waited for Luna to finish the speech.

Luna dismissed the pack as she heard many of them whispering among themselves. She knew this wouldnt be easy and looked at Amaru. "Keep an eye on things" she told him. He gave a nod before he started making his rounds. Luna noticed most of the mothers in both packs seemed to already be talking and getting closer. *Good. The pups will see this and it will only help* she thought as she gave a small sigh.

As she dismissed the pack, they seemed to be wary of him. He saw Luna give a small sigh, "It'll be alright." He said, giving her a playful nudge. "Just give them some time." Then he gave her ear a soft nip, nviting her to play, then ran away, tail wagging in the air, waiting for her to give chase. Then he darted into the woods. Looking back to see if she followed.

Luna hoped he was right as she followed him. She hadnt played since she was a pup, and she wasnt sure if now was even the best time. She stopped as she thought she heard something behind her, but when she looked, she didnt see anyone there. *hmmmm* she thought before she picked up her pace to follow Hondo. Her blue eyes looked around as she caught up to him. "Did you hear anything" she asked as she looked around once more.

Hondo had also heard a strange noise as Luna followed, but dismissed it as just prey. He had slowed down a little, allowing her to catch up. "Yeah, but it was probably nothing." He said, staying positive. But that noise couldnt have been prey, it sounded like a heavier object had broken it. His mind went straight to Nicco and Fighter. Were they up to something. He gave her ear an affectionate but anxious lick. Knowing that they could be anywhere around them.

Luna had been about to reply when she felt a force knock her down. Before she could question it, she saw Amaru standing over her. "Amaru! What are you doing" she snapped. Within a second of asking, a black figure yanked Amaru off Luna and she saw Nicco attacking. It was then she knew Amaru was there to keep her safe like he promised. She stood up in time for Amaru to knock Nicco off of him. Leaping in to help, Luna grabbed Nicco by the scruff before he attempted to turn and attack her.

Hondo gave out a gasp of surprise. He should have known Nicco would come. He knew Amaru wouldnt turn on her. But before he knocked her down he got a whiff of Nicco's scent. He watched as Luna got up and grabbed Nicco's scruff. Thats when he decided to attack. Hondo ran full speed at Nicco, running full speed into his chest. He kicked his back legs up, paws wrapped around his torso, bringing Nicco, and Luna somewhat, into the air. Before driving him back down into the ground. Nicco swiped at his face with a claw on the way down, scratching him on the muzzle. Hondo took no second before he slammed his paws down on Nicco's head, turning his face into the dirt. Panting he yelled in the males ear, "What do you think your doing?!" He yelled, his tone full of anger, his fur standibg on end in rage. "No one attacks my mate or Beta!"

Luna heard Nicco replying to Hondo. "She wasn't suppose to be yours" he snapped back. Luna growled coldly. "I was never going to pick you anyway" she retorted back. She let out a yelp as she felt Nicco's teeth around her back leg. She felt him getting ripped off of her and saw Amaru grabbing Nicco. Nicco whipped around and bit into Amaru's shoulder rather close to his neck before Nicco jumped to Amaru's neck, bringing the Beta down. "AMARU!" Luna leaped forward and pushed Nicco away before she saw Amaru close his eyes. "I'm sorry alpha" he said.

The next things happened so fast. Somehow Nicco had thrown him off of him, attacked Luna and attacked Amaru in seconds. As Luna tended to Amaru, who had seemed to grow unconscious after a coyple last words which he didnt hear, he faced Nicco. Hondo gave a snarl and said, "Leave it alone, she made her choice, and now you injure our Beta." He said, growing angrier by the word. "I coyld kill you for this.." Then he leaped onto the male, grabbing his neck in a death hold, while Nicco clawed at his face, neck, and torso. Nicco managed to make Hondo lose his grip, nd soon found himself beneath the male. Hondo clawed his underbelly with his hind legs, tearing into flesh, and regajned his grip on another death hold. Under hus muffled voice he said, "You'll never hurt Luna or my pack again."
