I woke up drowsy, lifting myself off my stomach and crawling off my bed. Just as I was about to go to my vanity and do my morning routine, I noticed a letter. Someone slid a letter under my door while I was asleep.

I cautiously walked up and grabbed it, I recognized the seal on it as Dakoda's personal letter stamp. I brought it over to my vanity and opened it. I used a weight to hold it open while I brushed my hair.

Dear Urimenor Dralta

I have removed 2 members from the top 10 due to complaints of abusing their power, not taking matters seriously, etc. Unfortunately, this has caused the rest of us to take on more responsibilities.

We lost number 4, and as you know we lost number 7 as well. Meaning we need a new record keeper, as that is one of the roles of number 4. I am asking if you could take up the responsibility of this position. Isaac, Cruelian, and I have all been doing our best to get the bracket set up and take up the physical parts that number 4 had to do. After all, he was the TA(Teacher's Assistant) for the training classes. I have had to take up that responsibility, so nothing to worry about there.

But most of your classes have been canceled for today so we can plan for the upcoming event. You still have to attend and supervise the Flying classes since it is your duty as number 6. I hope this doesn't bother you too much.

I also request that we wear our official top 10 uniforms every day now, as some of the newcomers don't know who we are. That and some people seem to forget who we are. I will admit I got a complaint about you yesterday but it was dismissed because it is part of all of our job descriptions. "Keep the tower of dominance level," the complaint was "My kid was attacked by a very large, pink dragon, who is a 4th year, for no reason," After an interview with the teacher everything was cleared up.

I understand this is a lot, and we are all stressed. But we need to stand strong, we can't let anyone see us fumble, or else it may cause problems.

Cruelian. The 3rd of the top ten, and one of the few unicorn shifters. He has the magical ability to heal and judge people by looking into their souls. I hadn't seen him for a while, he was normally studying abroad due to his strange abilities. It was hard for him to learn anything from people here for him, for he can only use pure magic.

After finishing doing my hair as I read it I looked over the proposal. It was a good rough draft, now I just need to look over it and rewrite it with nicer handwriting.

I got up from my vanity with a sigh as I got into my official top 10 uniform. Unlike the usual tan uniform, it was pure Black with shoulder pads that had special symbols on them. The main issue with the uniform, in my opinion, was the tight pants the girls had to wear. Similar to military uniforms we had small broaches on our left breast. Each broach had a different meaning, but all of them went below the silver number that represented which of the top 10 you were. The only one that was different was the number 1 as it was made of platinum.

I finally finished and quickly made my way to the training grounds to see if I could catch Dakoda. I quickly stopped by the art room and grabbed the painting I did of Bobby, as it was graded already. When I went down to the training room I made it just in time to witness Bobby passing the class. Not only that, but he was the only one. I had a soft but proud smile on my face.

"Hello Uri," a voice said I immediately turned to see Dakoda. He seemed to find me before I found him. "Do you know the hybrid?" he asked

"I've only known him for a day, but I guess," I said and he tilted his head curious as we both watched all of the other students get scolded. "I was tasked with correcting his flying behavior yesterday in flight class. Now he's quite the formidable flyer because he used to fly in one of the most difficult ways imaginable." I explained. "That and in my art class I was tasked with painting someone in action except we couldn't ask them to pose. We had to try and draw them as they wouldn't stop moving." I said as I brought up the painting for Dakoda to see. "I got an A+ for the detailed and creative background, I based it on the headmaster's coliseum," I explained and Dakoda looked at the art. "Do you mind if I call you Koda since You just Call me Uri?" I asked

"Preferably not in public," He said "As people might mistake us for being 'close' if you know what I mean," I nodded

"Then the same goes for my nickname Uri, I would prefer to be called Urimenor in public. you can Call me Uri when it is just us or we are with the rest of the top 10," I responded

"fair enough," He said, handing the painting back to me. "Have you put any thought into the letter, or is that not why you are here," He said motioning to the painting. "I came here originally about the letter but grabbed the painting on the way. 'knock out two birds with one stone' as they say," I said and he nodded "But I wouldn't mind taking up the responsibility of record keeper. I would just need the key," I said and he pulled out the record keeper keys out of his pocket.

"Here, you will have access to the library 24/7, including the restricted parts." He paused and sighed. "Can we talk more later, I have more private matters to talk to you about then," He said motioning towards the rest of the students as some were watching and trying to listen in.

"I understand, just let me know when. Unless you are going to save it for right after dinner before everyone goes back to the meeting room." I suggested

"We will see, I don't know. I just want to get your opinion on something before I do it," He whispered and I nodded. Then the bell rang, "I will see you later, Urimenor," He said walking away and tilting his head at me quickly.

"See you later Dakoda," I said before quickly walking up to Bobby. "here is the painting, I got an A+ just so you know," I said "I'm a little busy today but I will still be there for the flight class. It is one of my jobs as a member of the top 10." I explained. "Congratulations on passing by the way. Unfortunately, for now, I have to get going, but I will see you in the flight class," I said with a smile before walking off.

I was surprosed to see Urimernor and I listened to her as she said that she would have to go. I said "Congratulations on getting the A+. I guess that I will see you at flight class." I watched her go before going back to my dorm as now it was my free time and I went to put the painting up. I put it on my nightstand as I was amazed at it. I never thought that someone would be able to paint me but I felt lucky. I heard the bell ringing for next class as I knew I should go since I still need to pass my other classes. I made sure that my dorm was locked and I went to my next class as I was feeling unsure about doing flight class again. I was getting good grades with my other classes. I was ready for flight class. I passed another class with a great score which somehow felt different but I was happy. I heard the bell ringing for my history class and I went there. I was assigned to sit next to a new student which happened to be the guy shifter from training. I was happy to sit by him as the teacher began to explain on what we were going to do. I was surprised when he said that there was a pop quiz and we will have to pass the test. I was ready for the pop quiz as he was passing the papers out. I was relaxas the teacher said "You may start the quiz now." I began to look at the quiz questions and began to mark down the answer as I was not sure why we were having a pop quiz. I finished the pop quiz with the shifter guy who never did tell me his name but I figured his name was Bruce. I was happy as the rest of the class finally got finished and the teacher got the papers back to grade them. The teacher graded the papers and he look up at me in surprise. The teacher said "Bobby, come down here please." I was thinking that I was in trouble and I went down to where he was as I was hoping that I was wrong. The teacher said "You are the only student who had passed the pop quiz. I am amazed. Good job Bobby." I smiled softly as the other shifters cheered. The teacher said "You may go to the flight class now." I nodded and left to go to flight class as I knew that I would still need to learn more about flying but I did not see her yet. I figured it was because I was early than normal. The teacher said that I could start flying from what I was taught the other day. I nodded and went to the platform and began to shift into my hybrid form. I began to fly like I was taught to and it felt amazing as I knew that I was going to keep on learning to fly as I needed to know about it. The teacher was watching in amazment as I figured I was the only student who was actually listening when I was being taught on how to fly. I was feeling relax as I kept flying and I heard the bell ringing for flight class but the teacher said that I could keep flying. I listened as I was getting better at flying even though I knew it would take more time for me to get the hang of it. I went to land and I could hear clapping from behind as the teacher had shown the class about the flying powers of a hybrid. I heard one of the shifters say "That was amazing. Pretty soon, he might be able to do backflips while he is flying." I smiled softly as I knew that I would have to train before I could do it. I was not sure if she would be proud of how much I am working on getting to fly by myself. I went back to the platform and began to do what she had taught me again as I was feeling happy about it.

I quickly ran to the meeting room, greeting the headmaster on the way. There was a giant stack of records for me to organize.

"oh no, this might take me a bit," I mumbled as I immediately started trying to sort everything. My four arms came in handy as I was able to organize everything by date. When I turned around, I realized the filing cabinets were labeled by months. When I opened one I realized they weren't organized by day and were just thrown in. I immediately got annoyed and started organizing them all.

I only then realized the bell had rung for the next class to start as I had missed a couple of bells already. Panicked a little I asked the headmaster a question I never thought I would ask

"Sir, may I jump out your window so I can get to class as soon as possible?" I asked nervous but a little panicked. He seemed amused,

You can, but only because I know you and the other top 10 are busy." He explained "But don't tell a single soul, I will only let you say it when you go to graduate. because if you are a member of the top 10 when you graduate you are required to give a speech. Only then will I allow it, in front of the whole school." He explained quickly with a smirk, and I happily responded

"Thank you, sir!" I said before hopping out the window and shifting to get to the other side of campus. Thankfully it didn't take too long, because if I was running I would have been 8 minutes late.

"I apologize for being late," I said as I shifted right before landing on the platform, winded. "I got caught up in my work," I explained and she nodded. She knew the situation us Top 10 were in as we didn't have 3 members so the rest of us were all carrying to weight.

"Do you have a plan?" she asked quietly I nodded

"We are all trying to cram it together before the end of the week," I whispered back. I stood up straight after catching my breath and watching Bobby fly around as he was already in the air.

He had improved and was trying to get the flight style to become engrained into his brain so it would become natural it seemed. When he came back to the platform he didn't see me, 'he must have had his back turned when I appeared' I thought.

"Bobby," I called out, "That was great, sorry I'm a bit late," I apologized.

I was surprised when I heard her voice and I said "Its okay. I understand that you are busy. I was just wanting to keep training on what you taught me. I also have great news, I passed my pop quiz for history." I was not sure if I was going to be able to learn anything more. I was not sure if she would be proud or not. I said "I also made a friend and his name is Bruce." I was feeling calm as I knew that it was a very good thing to be making a friend as I knew it would be better to make some friends until I can leave the school. I knew that I was going to be able to do something with my life but I was not sure what I was going to do. I said "I better go finish flying around." I began to fly again as I was getting better as I knew that I would still need to be able to learn how to control my hybrid side but I knew that I needed to be able to find someone who can help me on how to understand. I was finally proving that I was no monter but I was just a friend. I felt relax as I kept flying as I knew that no one else would be able to say that I was a monster. I kept learning everything as I heard someone cheering me on which was another shifter who was happy to see me flying around. I landed again on the platform and I said "If I keep flying, I will finally be able to fly more naturally." I look at her as I was feeling happy. I could hear the other shifters clapping as they were happy for me. I knew that I would never be important like the the top 10 but I guess the other shifters wanted me to smile or at least feel happy about what I was doing.

First off I apologize for how long this is.

I watched him fly around with a straight face, I wanted to smile, but it would seem like I am favoriting. Once the tournament comes out a rumor might spread that I have been training him since we started planning. So it would be smart to try and avoid showing any signs that we might be friends. The entire thing was contradicting what I told him yesterday. I looked over the edge of the platform with a sigh, but something caught my attention.

"Dude isn't that Number 6!?" I heard one of the first years whisper-yell to another.

"Yeah, dude she looks like the one that pinned you yesterday too!" a second voice said, and then one I recognized easily popped in.

"Shut up dude," He said nervously, mad, and embarrassed all at once. "I didn't know she was one of the top 10," He said annoyed

"Have you seen how big she is in dragon form!?" One of them exclaimed. "I heard a rumor that she is bigger than number 1!" He said. I had to pause to think about it, and I realized that Dakoda and I were never really both in dragon form, at the same time, next to each other. Could I be bigger than him?

"Dude that can't be true, he is number one." one of them said

"Well, the smaller you are the more agile, the bigger the tankier. Plus, he has extra abilities that would easily allow him to win a fight." he explained

"Awe man your right," one said "Wait why don't we just ask her?" he suggested

"Nope, I'm not doing it, you do it,"

"I ain't doing it, how bout Marcus do it, he was the one that suggested it!" one said and they continued to bicker. I focused back on the sky and sat, maybe when me and Dakoda meet later I can ask.

I sat down and stared off until a familiar scent hit my nose, it was Dakoda, no clue why he was at this end of the school. He came through the doors and didn't even see me at first.

"Excuse me do you know where Urimenor is?" he asked and I stood up, the teacher looked dead at me.

"I'm right here," I said

"Oh, sorry, I guess I'm just out of it," he said with a sigh walking towards me. "what have you gotten done today?" he asked quietly

"I got all the records organized and even resorted the cabinets why?" I asked raising an eyebrow. He let out a sigh of relief, "Because the headmaster is going through the cabinets at the moment looking for a few specific records. I didn't know if they were organized or not because the last number 4 never put anything in order and just threw them in the cabinet with the month on them." he explained.

"Yeah let's just say I had a moment and it irritated me too much not to fix," I explained. He nodded swiping his hair back and I heard a squeal from a couple of the girls. "looks like you have fans," I said with a smirk.

"it gets annoying. It kinda irritates me to be honest, especially since you don't have to deal with it." He said with a look I didn't know how to describe, but it was clearly a playful expression.

"I have a lot of haters though, mainly because I am a girl in the top 10," I explained

"fair enough," he responded and looked into the sky. "Is that the hybrid?" he asked "he doesn't seem to fly abnormally," he said confused

"That is because I got straight to the point and corrected how he flapped his wings. Honestly, the fact he could fly like he did scares me." I said with a small laugh. "It shouldn't be possible for most others, but I guess he is a hybrid." I said "See, he seems to have lost his focus and he is doing it again," I explained and Dakoda immediately examined it. "If he joins the tournament I wouldn't even know where to put him. My best bet would be the dragons, but he is clearly a strong flyer. His wings are clearly built differently since that is how he learned to fly growing up." Dakoda pointed out.

"Yeah, I didn't exactly notice that," I said but paused "Bobby watch your form and technique!" I loudly yelled at him with my booming voice. One of the things I was known for as one of the top 10 was speaking extremely loud without screaming. I was normally the one that gave speeches when Dakoda wasn't.

"Darn, that hurt my ears," Dakoda said quietly

"Sorry," I apologized

"Are you friends with him?" he asked

"I don't know, but I guess I'm just slightly distancing myself at the moment. Mainly because if I don't people are gonna think I am personally training him for the event when it is announced." I explained, and he nodded.

"Smart, but you need more friends," he said jokingly

"Says you, mister 'I only talk to 2 people," I joked and he gave me a look. "I don't have friends because they would either use me, chain my trust then trick me, or be used against me, all because I'm in the top 10." I paused "Even you know this is true," He let out a sigh

"You aren't wrong about the second part," He said and I looked at him instead of at the dragon practice flying. "But the first part was wrong. I talk to not only Isaac and Cruelian but also you," he said with a smirk as if he had won.

"I do have one friend outside of the top 10," I said turning back to the air and he quickly turned to look at me.

"Who?" he asked "Seriously who, because you got me curious now," he said invested

"Void. The witch that can shift into anything she drinks the blood of." I mentioned and he just game me a look.

"her!?"

"What do you have against her?" I said getting defensive and he opened his mouth to speak but he seemed a tad confused

"Honestly, I don't know, I just don't like the feeling she gives me when she is near," he said and I rolled my eyes at him and turn my head to meet his gaze.

"It is your instincts telling you to stay away because she might be an impostor of your friend." I explained "I gave her a drop of my blood," I said and he looked horrified "Don't worry. If she doesn't have the extra limbs needed, she can't transform into the full thing., so she is just a simple and small wyvern. She turns into the mixed form around me so I can feel more comfortable around her, she isn't impersonating anyone either." I explained and he visibly relaxed

"You had me extremely worried," he said

"Why, we are the top 10," I said "We are told we shouldn't get too close to each other because for all we know someone could replace us any day," I said and he looked down

"The top 10 are basically like a family, at least the members who have been there for a while," He said "Like you and me, I'm pretty sure both of us joined a couple of weeks apart." He said and I let out a sigh.

"Are you saying that we are basically 'the head of the family," I asked with a small laugh.

"Well kinda," He said and I stopped laughing for a second. I turned my whole body to face him.
"I'm not in the top 3, heck, I'm not even in the top 5. So technically, that shouldn't even be suggested." I explained and the bell rang.

"Can we talk now since we are sort of on the topic," he explained and I became confused.

"...Sure," I said hesitantly

"Follow me," He said and I slowly followed after waving a quick goodbye to Bobby when he looked at me.

I followed him down the halls and we ended up in the top 10 training room. No one was in here at the moment.

"I'm just gonna be straight forward. Isaac wants to step down into a lower position." He said and my eyes went wide.

"Why!?" I asked

"He is in his 7th year, meaning when he goes the second spot is going to need to be filled." He explained, "So he came up to me and asked if there was someone in the lower numbers that he would prefer me to ask to swap with him." He said

"Don't tell me I think I know where this is going," I said eyes wide in shock and confusion. My heart was pounding, even my draconic eyes were a simple slit. Giving away my true emotions.

"Urimenor Dralta," he said "Would you like to be number 2 in the top 10," He asked and it felt like time stopped. My mouth fell open a little, not enough to call it a jaw drop. It was clearly a reaction of shock though. I gulped and pulled myself together, letting out a deep breath.

"I will do it," I said pausing. "but why me?" I asked

"You are probably the second person I trust the most and the 2nd spot is basically the first's right hand." he said with a pause "The rules state that as number one I can switch people around to where I see fit. It just so happens that this is probably the best opportunity to re-arrange before we take any new members. That way it is figured out in time for the announcement of the tournament." He explained and I just nodded. I was still slightly at a loss for words. "I will let the headmaster know of my decision and I will inform Isaac. If you want you can go but I understand if you are stunned." he said pausing "If you want we could just take a break and try to relax in here or at the headmaster's office?" he asked

"How about we go to the headmaster's office and tell him about the swap now, we can grab Isaac on the way," I said quietly. He nodded and we made our way there, picking up Isaac on the way there. Dakoda quickly told him and caught him up to speed. Isaac and Dakkoda began to talk, and I kind of just followed beside them. With a straight, blank face.

When we got to the headmaster's office me and Isaac sat on opposite sides of the room while Dakoda explained the swap. We were both just waiting. To him it almost seemed as if he was relieved, but for me, it just didn't seem real.

"You aren't doing this irrationally?" the headmaster asked giving him a serious look.

"No, Isaac was the one who brought it up, as he didn't want to have to worry about the 2 spots being empty and needing to be filled. So he requested to be swapped with someone of lower ranking. I chose Urimenor because I trust her and I've known her the entire time I've been in the top 10. I trust her judgment; I trust her reasoning; I trust her loyalty." He explained and I looked up at him and the headmaster seemed confused.

"what do you mean by, 'you trust her loyalty.' is there a relationship going on between members in the top 10 that I didn't know about?" He asked and Dakoda quickly responded

"No sir, I say I trust her loyalty because she doesn't back down and she sticks with those she trusts," He said "An example is earlier. I had a conversation with her and learned she is friends with the Witch that can shift," He said pausing "When I worriedly asked why, she got defensive of her friend. Not only did she explain why she was friends with her, but she also explained why no one likes her. I realized I was trusting my instincts a little too much." He said "What I'm getting at is that she is a rational thinker and doesn't just jump into things headfirst. She chooses those to who she dedicates her loyalty with caution and precision. I am one of the lucky few who managed to earn that loyalty," He explained

"How do you know you earned this level of loyalty? Because double wyverns rarely give out their loyalty to more than one being." The headmaster asked "More or less one of the opposite gender." he said raising a brow. I decided to jump in, as they did say it was an open discussion at the start of the conversation. I looked at the headmaster

"Because I wouldn't take the time to meet him in person to discuss things that could easily be responded to by letter, therefore showing the effort I put into showing I care; because Dakoda is the only dragon that didn't make fun of me for being a double wyvern, even before I joined the top 10; because despite all the hate I get, Dakoda knows the real me, and knows when someone is lying about me," I said finishing off. I couldn't see Dakoda's face, unfortunately.

"I don't know what kind of sappy, platonic, love, or whatever relationship you two have. But I will allow the swap. If something happens and you two do become a thing, I will have to be notified." H explained and we both nodded. I couldn't really imagine myself with Dakoda, but if I was to be forced into an arranged marriage I would rather it be with someone a trust over a stranger.

After the meeting we all go to our jobs, we weren't going to start our new jobs until the announcement.

"I will go get dinner, who is coming with," both the boys paused ad just nodded and stopped what they were doing as we all walked to the dining hall. We were early, and right before the bell as well. I sat in my usual spot but it felt weird without Amy next to me. I wondered if Bobby would come in to eat at this time. I noticed he made a friend, so maybe I wouldn't have to worry too much.

I heard her and I did what she said as I wanted to keep practicing until I saw her with another member of the top 10. I sighed as I heard the bell finally ringing for dinner. I shifted into my human form and I walked with Bruce to the hall. Bruce said "I am sorry Bobby. I am sure that you will make another friend who would be a girl." I just shook my head as a no as I got into line. I was refusing to look at any of the top 10 members as they were strangers to me and I had no reason to even talk to them. Bruce sighed as he followed me to our lonely spot at one of the tables. Bruce said "Bobby, I am sure that you can make another friend who can help train you for flying." I was just eating quietly as I was not really in the mood to say anything to her or her friends. Bruce noticed this and I finished eating. I said "I am going back to my dorm. I will see you tomorrow Bruce. I can help you with training. It's very easy." Bruce nodded and gave me a small smile. I took care of my tray and I went to go to my dorm as I was not wanting to talk to anyone for a the rest of the night. I got to my dorm and unlocked the door. I got in my dorm and locked the door as I was now not wanting to deal with anyone. I sighed as I knew that she never wanted to be my friend I got ready for bed and brushed my teeth as I was feeling alone. I went to change my clothes into my pajamas as I was feeling alone. I went to my bed as I did not care if it was early or not as I just wanted to be alone. I knew that she would never care about me as it was just her job to make sure hybrids like me knew where we belong. I whispered "I belong with my family." I began to close my eyes as I was tried and not in the mood for visitors. Bruce had done the same as he did not want to answer any questions that the top 10 members would have but they never did ever talk to other shifters unless it was for some job that they had. Some of the other shifters saw what had happened and felt guilty so they finished eating and went to their dorms early. I was not sure for how long I was asleep for as I just wanted to sleep until the morning was there. I sighed as I was having a good dream without anyone there to disturb my sleep. I smiled in my sleep as I was dreaming about having a friend who was a girl but I knew that it was just wishful thinking as I knew Bruce would be my only friend. I knew that Bruce would be my only friend since everyone already had friends that they trusted. I was going to ask the teacher tomorrow if I could have someone else teach me to fly. I woke up the next morning and got ready for the day. I did as I had promised Bruce and helped him train. I was dressed in my regular clothes and I was making sure to stick to Bruce as I knew he would need help with a lot of things. Bruce was thankful for my help and I told him my plan on asking for someone who could teach me how to fly since she had been busy. Bruce said "I am sure that the teacher can find someone. I mean it's not like you will have to deal with it for every long." I just nodded and sighed as I said "I am not sure if I can handle it now. I mean, I have respect for the top 10. But what is the purpose of me. One of the most dangerous hybrids learning to fly with one of their members. I am unsure if I will be able to trust another shifter." Bruce listened to me and felt bad as he knew that my hybrid side would probably start hating everyone. I said "maybe it's for the best if she does not train me anymore. I will just learn to fly on my own." I went to my next class as the bell was starting to ring and Bruce walk by my side. I began to help Bruce with the lesson as he did need help understanding and thankfully the teacher was very sweet about letting me help Bruce. I was glad that Bruce seem to be having fun and enjoyed being my friend as most shifters would have ran the other way. I was allowed to leave early so I went to flight class and asked the teacher if I could just practice with flying alone with no one there to teach me. She agreed and I went to work as I just wanted to clear my mind. I was not sure how long I was training myself the flying lessons that I had learned until I noticed some shifters coming into watch me. I landed on the platform and I changed back into my human form as I knew that I did not want to be seeing by the top 10. The teacher thankfully gave me free time and I went to find Bruce as we were going to hang out. Bruce and I began to walk around to find someone who needed help as we wanted to do something nice for someone. I sighed as Bruce began to talk about the different hybrids that he knew about and I was just listening to him as I was not sure what I was going to do.

I felt bad for not exactly saying anything so before I went to bed I wrote a note with a quick explanation.

Dear Bobby,

I'm sorry if it seems I am avoiding you, I just want to tell you that I am doing it to protect you. Being a member of the top 10 is dangerous and the people I am close with can get targeted. This is why we Top 10 normally only interact with each other.

I can't specify or leak any information, but all I can say is we have recently been given a lot of stress and we have to act strong. So I apologize if I act cold, I am just trying to keep myself together as I am slammed with things to do and stuff to stress about.

If you want you can still come to my dorm after dinner, as that is probably the only free time I have and you won't have to worry about being seen as most people will be focused on going to dinner or they will be too tired after eating to be suspicious.

Once again I apologize as it is rude of me to act so cold, but it is just to protect you.

After signing it I went to sleep.

Once the sun rose I crawled out of bed like usual, but before I did my hair I used my official stamp on the letter. If I used my official stamp instead of my personal one people would get suspicious. Official letters are known to be read only in private, so it was only the safest option.

When I finished my hair I sighed and stared at myself in the mirror. I stood up and walked back a bit so I could see my whole body. The negative thoughts started to pour in, as I didn't like my figure. I was technically weak for being in the Top 10, I had little to no muscle and I won mainly because of technique, strategy, and my fast reaction time. I looked at my small stomach, and no matter how much I ate I couldn't put on weight whatsoever. I couldn't build muscle off of nothing, I needed to gain weight first before I could even try to put on muscle. I felt my eyes start to water but I quickly stopped myself before a tear could run down my cheek.

I pulled myself together as I put my official dress on and headed to the normal training grounds to deliver the letter.

As I walked I could hear them exercising and I hoped I wouldn't have to approach the teacher. I looked for him, scanning with my eyes before going down the stairs. Once I found him I discreetly made my way over to him and caught him as he was getting a drink. While he wasn't looking I set the letter down next to his stuff as well. I knew no one saw me, but he might have sensed me or smelt me. I didn't know which or if any of his senses were heightened because of his hybrid abilities or not. Either way, I got out of there before deciding I was going to get breakfast for once. I entered the dining hall and it seemed that breakfast was French toast, it brought back memories of the cabin. Except everything was homemade.

I realized that once I became number 2 I would share a dorm that had 3 bedrooms with Dakoda and Cruelian, except he isn't back yet so it would just be me and Dakoda. I remember him telling me that it had its own kitchen, at least I would be able to cook some of my own food and make what I wanted.

i noticed a letter in my stuff and I went to read it after I had finished flying around. I read the letter before tearing it up and throwing it in the trash. I had no reason to even talk to her after dinner. I went back to flying around with someone who was actually teaching me instead of giving me the cold shoulder. I decided I had enough and I changed back to my human self again. I grab my things and I went to my dorm as the teachers had already marked me as part of the classes already. I made sure that my dorm was locked as I did not want to see anyone at all. I put my stuff away and I laid down on my bed as I felt like not trusting her anymore. I sighed as I began to close my eyes as I just wanted someone to talk to but she was busy with her friends. I sighed as I was thinking about everything and I decided that I no longer wanted to receive letters or talk to her at all which would be better for me. I was not really in the mood to write a letter to anyone so I was just laying on my bed as I was thinking about something. I thought *It's always the top 10 who get the nicest things in life. I just want to go home. I don't want to be here anymore. I wish my dad would come to pick me.* I began to have tears and I was suddenly crying as I was being quiet. I truly felt alone for the first time as I felt like I would never make friends like my parents wanted me to. I was feeling like I no longer trusted Urimenor at all. I was hoping that no one would hear me at all as I was not wanting to deal with anyone at all. I felt sad as I was not sure what I was going to do next. I sighed as I began to wipe my tears away and I said "I am no longer going to be her student at all. I am going to find someone who can at least help me with my flying class." The teacher had seen me rip up the letter and told me that I did not have to go back to flight class since I was not in a good mood. I said "it's always to protect me. Maybe leaving here will do all the protecting for everyone else." I was clearly not in the mood to talk to anyone. I decided to write letters to clear my mind. I wrote them all addressed to my friends which means it was just for Bruce. I began to finish the letters for Bruce as I decided to just trust Bruce as my only friend. I decided go back to flight class as Bruce had a friend who was great at giving tips on flying so I pull myself together and I went back to flight class and began to talk to her about flying and what I would need. She had me start flying as she wanted to see what else I would need work on as I was hoping that I could fly like a normal dragon and that I would not have to see the top 10 members anymore. I was happy to have someone else teaching me how to fly and I was just hoping that it would stay this way. I landed on the platform as I had finished my flight lesson apfrom the new girl who was actually happy to be training me. Bruce went over to us and said that he was watching everything and thought that soon I would be a natural. I just chuckled as I shifted into my human formand I decided just to stay away from her.

As I ate my breakfast with a couple of the last top 10 members. Isaac, Jacob, and I sat there and ate in peaceful silence. That was until the headmaster walked in and approached the table.

"Urimenor, I need you to come with me," He said and I paused before getting up. I followed him and Dakoda was waiting outside the door, both of us were a bit worried. We walked down the halls and stopped in the training area. There were people there training.

"As both of you know, Cruelian travels for his studies due to his type of shifter." He said with a pause "I know both of you have bonded with him in a way as dragons seem to take a liking to their kind even in the wild and form strange bonds." He paused as we both nodded, neither of us was afraid to admit that we had a weird the reason I brought you here is because he is coming back," My pupils Dilated as if I was a cat. "I don't know what you guys would consider your relationship to be with him, but I would like to know if possible." He said curiously

"I see him as an Older brother figure," I explained "He was there for me when I was homesick, as here in the city is nothing like life in the mountains," I said

"I would say I see him as a mentor and someone I look up to. As he helped me with most of my homework that I didn't understand, and whenever I needed help with school in general he was there." Dakoda explained and the headmaster nodded

"Come on now he should be here-" the headmaster tried to say but was interrupted

"I'm back!" the unicorn shifter said with a bright smile. Before Dakoda realized what was going on I was already hugging Cruelian. "Wow, you missed me that much?" He said faking a surprised tone. He was much taller than I was at an astonishing 6'7". He was over a foot taller and my head barely reached his chest. He melted into my hug and let me go before Dakoda pulled him in for 'a bro hug' if that is even what you want to call it. "You two need to catch me up on everything!" he said, then me and Koda looked at each other nervously

(Skip forward to after they explain everything to Cruelian in the meeting room)

Cruelian sat there processing everything, "So let's get this straight. Uri is going to be in the 2nd spot; one member died during a terrorist attack for the first time, and not only that but he was in the top 5; Two members have been removed from the top 10 so we have three open spots; Then to fill those open spots you all are proposing the idea of hosting your own tournament. Did I miss anything," He asked and Dakoda nodded his head

"Actually there is one more thing," I said with a pause "We have a hybrid, more specifically a death dragon and a werewolf hybrid," I added

"My lord," He said pinching the temples on his nose, tilting his head down. This caused his horn to point directly at the both of us and we stepped to the side a bit.
