Khalin nodded his head. "I know you're strong. And even if you don't NEED someone to protect you, just know I always will" he smiled softly and gazed around. A flash of movement catching his and Kaz' eye. Khalins pace hesitated for a moment before he continued on walking next to her. It was probably just walker. He hoped it was a walker, he wasn't entirely sure what he was going to do if it was alive. He already had Val, and his dog, they didn't need anyone else. He pushed the thought away and occasionally checked the spot where he had seen movement, no one, walker or human, had shown themselves.

Valentina chuckled. At least he admitted she was strong and didn't underestimate her. She's been fighting long before the apocalypse. She only learned independence from the apocalypse. Of course after she realized she had no one until Khalin appeared. "And I will do what I can to protect you." She said with a smile as she walked beside him. She fully believed that Khalin could take care of himself. But it was always good to have an extra set of hands. She looked up at the sky, sun shining in her face before looking back down. So far no sign of any other stores. And if there were, they looked empty. Val looked up at Khalin. "So when did you get so tall? I could've sworn I used to be taller than you." She said with a slight giggle.

He scoffed at her comment. "I feel like it's universal that you can't judge a boys height while he's in high school" he smiled and gazed around, checking over his shoulder. "My basic training kinda made me turn into a 'man'. My body decided to not be so..quaint" he shrugged not really knowing, but giving her the best answer he had. "But I actually think you shrank, it's your old age getting to you" she was barely a month older than him but he remembered giving her crap for it in high school. A rabbit hurried from a small patch of grass and tried to make it to the forest that was about a hundred yards away. Kaz was not going to let that happen. He raced after the animal keeping as silent as he could, while chasing a piece of prey. When he finally caught it he shook his head until the body stopped fighting. Running back to them he jumped up on Val and offered her his kill. "Kaz aggrees, he says rabbit will help your height"

She snapped her head towards him when he mentioned old age. "You're the one who looks like you're 50." She said with a smirk. Suddenly she felt something tugging at her and she looked down to see Kaz holding a dead rabbit. A warm smile spread across her face as she took it from his mouth and looked up at Khalin. "Thanks, buddy." She said to Kaz, not knowing where to put the rabbit. She didn't want to get its blood in her bag so she gave it to Khalin, hoping he had a place for it. She was definitely grateful they had a dog with them. "Pfft, yeah right. I hope you know I'm above average height for a woman." Valentina said confidently.

Khal chuckled and took the rabbit. Kaz had a habit of bringing dead things, or not so dead things, back to his owner. Khal always kept a plastic bag to put his companions treasures in. He took it out of his pocket them put the dead rabbit in there. Carefully he wrapped it up and put it in his bag. "I guess we have dinner" he joked. "Average height can't ram each the top shelf.." he mummbled just loud enough for her to hear it. A walker had taken a notice to them and was walking towards them with scuffing feet. Khal motioned to Kaz to stay near Val then walked towards the dead. "Hi there. You seem to be stuck, let me help you," he swung his bag smashing the head of the walker in with a single hit. "You're free silly" he walked back to Val and continued to walk beside her, blood dripping from his bat.

Valentina rolled her eyes at his sly comment. "Pfft, okay giraffe." She said sarcastically. Her eyes darted towards the walker but before she could go handle it, Khalin was already there. When Khalin came back, Val gave him a look of disappointment. "You know, I could've taken care of it." She huffed as she continued walking. Val gains pure joy in the killing of walkers. After what they did to her family, she craves bashing their heads in. But she specifically wants to find the one who killed her mother. The walker was a tall woman with long black hair and a white gown on. Scary sight. But Val waits for the moment they meet eye to eye. "I'm independent, remember?" She said. Val gave a confident chuckle as she walked ahead of him.

"I can't let you have all the fun" he said lightly bumping his shoulder into hers. As they walked he saw an old warehouse, trucks still docked ready to be loaded before the world had ended. He looked over at her with a challenge in her eye. "I'll bet I find the best supplies AND the coolest thing in that warehouse" he challenged evenly. His grin was excited even as his eyes danced around checking their entrance. "Why not spice up the apocalypse? But of course..if you're scared I'll hold your hand and show you all the cool things" he stuck out his bottom lip as if to pout like a small child. Khalin ha always been the kind to makes bets, most of the time he would lose them or chicken out, but he was braver now, or at least he thought he was.

Valentina raised her eyebrow at the depiction of a challenge. She looked up at him with a grin spread across her face. "Is that a challenge?" She asked in almost a sly manner. Valentina admired a good challenge. She glanced at the warehouse then back at Khalin. "If you're fine with losing, you're on." Valentina said with a smirk and picked up her pace, practically running towards the warehouse. Val looked back at Khalin and let out a cheeky laugh. She entered the warehouse and slid her machete out from her back. Valentina made her way depose inside the warehouse and began her investigation.

Khalin hurried after her, slipping in the door, with Kaz beside him. He split off from her going a different direction, his bad in hand. He was careful not to be too loud in case there were any walkers in the building. he found a box and opened it digging through it quickly. Toilet paper was all that was in this box. He hugged and decided to try a different aisle of the wars house. He tip toed and his gaze flicked around wildly like he expected a walker or maybe a human to jump out at every corner. He found another large big and opened it beginning to dig. "Bingo" he said to himself peering into the box.

(Boutta add some drama:,) ) . A small shiny object caught the sight of Valentina. She giggled and ran over. Examining it, she couldn't tell what it was but it looked like a small orb. It fascinated her. She was definitely going to win this challenge. Val was messing with it until suddenly she felt a heavy pressure push her down. She thought it was Khalin but when she turned around she widened her eyes at the sight of chomping teeth. It was a walker. It had knocked her machete out of her hand and she couldn't reach it. Val was pushing its head back as hard as she could. "Khalin!" She cried out. This was the only time she'd ask for help. Valentina is seeing her life flash before her eyes. "Khalin! Kaz!" God, where were they? She hoped they weren't far. The walker was getting impatient and tried its hardest to rip at Val but she wasn't going to let that happen.
