Cinder nodded, although the elk had antlers it looked pretty beat up. Cinder waited for the perfect moment, she lashed out holding on the the bucks neck with her jaws. She saw Honbo go for its stomach, the buck was already laying on the ground, almost gone. When Cinder pulled away the buck was dead, this would last them about two days before they would need to hunt again. Cinder walked over to Honbo and nuzzled him and licked his snout. She really liked him, he was also a pretty great hunter.

As she went for the neck he went for the stomach, quickly killing it. "Lets take this to our den." He said nuzzling her. He picked up the carcass and dragged it back to the den. "Cinder, I have been meaning to ask you something," he said dropping the carcass, "would you like to be my mate?"

Hondo too got into a play bow then ran up to her, rolling and playing submission on his back. "We should claim the clearing, the elks grazing meadow and the nearby rabbit Warren. What do you think?" He said licking her muzzle.

Hondo got up chuckling. "Lets go claim some territory." He ran off towards the meadow scent marking and clawing trees. After he had finsihed he came back to the camp. "I cant wait to have pups," he told her, "imagine little balls of fluff running around here.

Cinder smiled, "I cant wait either." she wagged her tail. Cinder nudged Hondo lovingly. Whenever they did have pups he would be a superb father. Cinder layed down in a sunny spot, the sun shining off her coat made her look like she was glowing. She lifted her head and howled. She howled for her new mate, new territory, and hopefully new life within their slowly but steadily growing pack.

Hondo layed down beside his new mate, when she started howling in her beautiful voice. He too started howling, adding a deeper pitched howl to their song. He howled with all his might, their voices intertwining. Soon he felt like they were one. He started thinking about pups. She would be a great mother. Winter was starting to come, the temps starting to drop. He loved his new mate. What would go wrong?
