Laika bristles at her pack's response, however holds Ferox's gaze. They would survive this, they had to. Without a single doubt in the Alpha's mind. Something told Laika that they had to be alive to fight whatever was threatening the packs now and if they were killed. The packs would be doomed. Perhaps if they defeat the terror, the law could be removed. Perhaps Ferox and Laika could properly be together, and Ferox could be a part of his pups lives.

As Topaz, Nova, and Khan take a threatening step towards Ferox after his words, Laika steps in. A snarl building in her throat. The meaning was clear but her wolves hesitate. Laika snarls,"Touch a single hair on his pelt, and I'll rip yours off." The Beta's exchange a glance, however all three back off slightly.

Laika just as quickly turned her anger on Rider, no longer even bothered by the Alpha. He had no power over her. "Touch my pups and I will make sure you suffer." That was pure motherly instinct right there. And the fact Laika did not like innocent pups being harmed in anyway.

Ari finally cuts in,"Laika is right. Enough is enough." The female's words were firm as she looks around,"Whatever is happening. Ferox and Laika must lead their packs to face the danger. We must figure something out, and clearly Laika is the most suited to lead her pack. To appoint a new leader now is pure stupidity. The sudden shift of leadership will throw a pack off and right now we need all pack's with their heads in the game. I have a feeling this terror that threatens us. It means death."

Laika was furious now. The love of her life and her pups were being threatened and she was not. happy. Though on the outside she remained calm and authoritative. She knew if she let up for a second her pack would be upon them at once. Only her authority kept them on top. Though, by laws they should already be dead.... No doubt the pups as well. Though...

The Ignis Lupi were eyeing this Alpha, what were they to do? She was not wrong, the Elders hadn't denounced her. She was still their Alpha and Law decreed the Alpha's word was Law. The only punishment named for breaking such Law was death. But if the Alpha's word was Law. Which Law won? It confused them and that kept them mainly still and quiet. And the fury coming from their Alpha.

Laika lifts her head, staring Rider straight in the eye. "You would so willing murder pups? Innocent pups who know nothing of what is happening and why they are to be sentenced to such a thing?" Laika's eyes darken with anger,"Are you that heartless, Rider? To slaughter innocent pups?" Appealing to his humanity, would he so willing slaughter innocent pups? Ari holds Rider's gaze,"I'm not kidding. It may be our best bet. And are we willing to take such a risk? If we need Ferox and Laika, then to kill them according to the Law, would doom all of us."

Laika was seconds away from fire exploding along her pelt. "Do you have pups Rider?" She waits a few seconds before scoffing,"Hmm, I highly doubt it matters. Your heart is too cold to hold love for anyone else but yourself." Laika's eyes were cold,"If all you are going to do is talk about killing Ferox, my pups, and I. Then you can get out of my camp. Now."

Ari dips her head,"Indeed I would. Despite their mistake, they have been great Alpha's of their packs." The Alpha Female gets to her feet, staring down Rider. "Love is a powerful thing, Rider. And it cannot always be ignored. Yes they broke the law, but do not so quickly doom us. We are not weak packs. We are strong. The battle against the rouges proved that."

The Ignis Lupi were exchanging glances, they had always admired the steadfast Akvo Lupi Alpha. And now they could see truth in her words. Not to mention, they had never been a big fan of Rider. He was always too rude and arrogant.

Laika went to snap at Rider, but Ferox beat her to it. Speaking every word she would have said to Rider. From among the Elder's, Aodh, the oldest, steps forward. "I have been among the Ignis Lupi for a long time. I have seen a fair share of Alpha's come and go." His eyes sweep the pack,"If the worst thing Laika has done was produce half-blood pups, what would it say about us if we killed her? Killing another wolf for falling in love? Does that justify anything?"

Laika blinks gently at the Elder, silently thanking him, especially as Aodh continues. "Laika will keep her position as Alpha. She has done well to lead us, and she has never lead us astray. Even when her heart belonged to a wolf of a different pack, she still kept our pack strong." Aodh's gaze swings towards Rider,"And nothing you say will ever sway our loyalty to our Alpha."

Ari's gaze flickers between the Alpha's,"My pack will stand with Laika and Ferox against whatever evil may come." Ari turns towards Rider,"I suggest you pull that stick from your rear and shut your muzzle. You have never and will never have a say in deciding Laika and Ferox's fate."

Laika bares her teeth at Rider, though she says nothing else to the Alpha. He was no longer any kind of concern of hers. Ari and the rest of the wolves seemed just as happy and content at ignoring Rider. Clearly the Alpha had never been stood up against. It was about time the Alpha was put into his place.

Rallied by Adoh's words, and their Alpha's unwillingness to allow her pups to be harmed, or her pack's destruction, the Ignis Lupi were no longer protesting. Without a doubt, it would take a while to completely earn back her pack's loyalty and trust, but for now, she was happy with them not turning against her. She just hoped Ferox's pack would react the same.

Ari nods back at Ferox. Before listening to his words. Laika agrees,"I believe we should move our packs closer together. If that sound came from some kind of danger, it would be stupid to be so far spread out. We saw what happened when my pack was attacked by the rouges. It is dangerous to be so far spread out."

Ferox looked over at Laika as she began to speak, and he gave a light nod. "Perhaps we should start scouting out ideal locations, places that are easy to defend," he said. "Our camps are the most secure locations our territories, but if we're moving, we need to find somewhere where we will be at an advantage. And perhaps we should find a place where all the packs can retreat to just in case something happens. I'd say it needs to be in sight of every pack, and it needs to have plenty of solid rock and a good water source."

Rider sat silently, listening to the younger Alphas speak. His opinions about them were still strong, but what they were saying was correct. "I don't know of an area in my territory that meets those requirements," he says. "We have a couple water sources, but any rock that may be there is buried beneath the surface." Ferox turned to Rider and nodded. "That's fine, if there's rock there, then my wolves can bring it to the surface," he said. He looked around at the other Alphas and asked, "Do any of the rest of you have any ideas?"

Laika nods, there was nowhere on Ignis Lupi territory that would not only give all four packs the ability to wield their element, but was easy to protect. While the camps were the safest options, each camp was dead center in an area suited only for that pack. So, they'd have to find a new camp. For a little while. Until they could defeat whatever evil was facing them.

Her eyes flicker towards Rider briefly, fire could be summoned easily for the Ignis Lupi. But if the air was too humid then the fire wouldn't be as strong. They would be at a disadvantage. They needed somewhere where all four packs could easily summon and control their element. The Alpha's gaze turns to Ferox. "Yes. Perhaps the meeting area for the Great Pack Gathering? It is not only neutral ground, but if we built walls up, it would make a great temporary camp."

Ferox glanced over at Laika as she made her suggestion, and he gave a nod. "That may be our best bet," he said. "It's a good central location, and you're right, we can make it into safe place." Ferox thought for a moment, then gave another slow nod. "If none of the Alphas or Elders have any objections to this plan, then perhaps it would be best to begin immediately. I can send one of my wolves to gather the rest of my pack." Ferox glanced over toward where Bracken and Amethyst were sitting, but to his surprise, Amethyst was no longer there. He gave Bracken a questioning glance, but the wolf just stared back silently.
