Isadora groaned inwardly at the thought. Dancing required being very close and they did have to dance. She pondered for a moment before speaking. "I'd say three at the least. It's customary for us to lead into the first dance as well as the last, but we don't need to do the bare minimum," she sighed, shaking her head.
It wouldn't look right if they didn't dance more. As much as she didn't want to have to, they'd have to. She only prayed it wouldn't be too bad. After all, she did enjoy dancing, but she'd never danced with Xevon and it was a bit... intimidating. She knew she'd already get worked up from being them being the first to begin the dance, so the thought of dancing with someone she didn't even like made her even more anxious |

Xevon tipped his head lightly. Three? It was the bare minimum that he could agree with and he didn't hate the idea. His expression shifted toward thoughtful as he scanned the ballroom and finally smiled faintly. "Just follow my lead," he finally whispered to her, hazel eyes glittering. He could dance--he could dance on his own if he really wanted to but that was too much work in front of a crowd. Xevon took her hand, guiding the young woman to the center of the ballroom. He released her hand briefly and stood a good few paces away. Xevon lifted his right hand, the other behind his back, the same calm and mischievous smile etched faintly in his lips. It was poised, like a wind-up music box just ready for the key to be released. Which, as the music finally started, he moved to offer his hand to the princess. |

Isadora rolled her eyes but chose not to respond. She would allow him to lead, as it would ease her feelings a bit anyways. She could dance like there was no tomorrow, but her down fall was how shy she was. Never the less, she let him guide her out to the center floor, her chest struggling to rise and fall rhythmically.
As he stood infront of her, one hand raised and the other behind his back, she gave a small curtsy before the gentle music was to begin. A small smile graced her pretty face, her gaze focused solely on the man before her. The entire ballroom had fell so silent you could hear a pin drop. it felt like ages until the music began and the young prince offered up his hand. Isadora slipped her small hand into his, drawing close as the dance began. Light pink tinged her cheeks as she looked up, doing her best to folllw whatever move he'd make |

One, two, three. One, two, three... And so on and so forth. The thoughts rang in Xevon's mind, keeping count of each step. It was a sweeping waltz, a triangle made with their feet. While, in reality, he rather would've been anywhere and with anyone else, at least they had picked good music. The ballroom itself was decorated with flowers galore, beautiful purple Asters that bunched with the soft blossoms of the peach trees. White carnations and calla lilies laid in vases along the tables that lined the edges of the ballroom itself, mingled with red roses and dotted with blue daisies--to give a splash of color of course. Xevon was more focused on not stepping on the new bride, taking his footsteps in the same triangle. "Y'know," he murmured softly. "For supposedly not dancing well with others, you aren't that bad." |

Isadora was counting in her head to calm her breathing rather than to keep track of steps. That was the easy part. Staying calm was the challenge for her. She was glad that this specific dance was the first. Not only was it a simple favorite, it was a good warm up song as well.
Her free hand rested lightly against his chest closer to his shoulder as they danced, his voice bringing her out of her thoughts. "Normally I haven't got a partner who knows what he's doing," she murmured, her gaze shifting from the gorgeous flowers to the hazel eyes above.
"I must say, we dance well together," she said softly, her own feet following the triangular pattern swiftly. She knew he'd been a good dancer, but she had never had the pleasure of dancing until then. By then, other couples had took to the floor, joining the royals in the middle of the first dance. |

Xevon's expression shifted, surprised at the words she used to respond to him. It was more than evident in his words; "well now that's just sad. I'd have had hopes that your kingdom would have at least someone who knew how to dance." As her vibrant eyes slid to look at his, the prince drifted his gaze out to the tables. There was something about keeping eye contact with her that felt wrong--for whatever reason. It might've been the fact that her hand was in his, or the fact that he had his own hand on her waist. Either way, he didn't exactly enjoy it. At the very least, they were no longer the entire center of attention as others took to the floor, swinging and sweeping around in unison with the music. "I suppose we dance well," Xevon agreed idly, loosely even. "We'll have to really test that out with the other two dances."
Ah, there was that sly dig from the prince and the flash of a dry and mischievous grin briefly toward the princess. |

Isadora had to hold back a scoff, shaking her head. "If there is, I haven't danced with them yet. They aren't all terrible, but they definitely don't do as well as you," she told him, her words somewhat a compliment.
She let out a soft sigh, resisting the urge to roll her eyes. She knew being so close wasn't ideal, but he could at least meet her gaze every once in a while.
Now that they weren't the center of attention, her movements had became more fluid, graceful even. There was just something about all the eyes on her.. It made her want to freeze. Perhaps it was the pressure she felt, or maybe she was really just that shy.
Isadora laughed. Truly, laughed. "I wouldn't mind that at all. It would be nice to see what we can really do." A twinkle of excitement glimmered in her eyes, showing what her face didn't.
Soon the music ended, prompting her to release him and step back, giving him a small bow as they finished. |

Xevon shook his head lightly, chuckling softly as she rolled her eyes. That was the type of reaction that he usually figured he'd get. No matter where he went, that was what usually happened. It was just usual and he was used to it. As the music drew to a close, Xevon let go and stepped back as well, tipping forward in a bow. But now they... had to eat? This night was going to last far too long, and he knew it. That was just one song, one dance and now they had to eat, dance at least twice more and talk to everybody who came to congratulate them. The hours were going to drag on.
"I think they have a pair of spots marked for us," he murmured softly. |

A part of her wished that she could stick to the dance floor all night, to avoid having to talk to people or sit in what most likely would be an awkward silence.
She was a bit hungry though, having deprived herself of any kind of breakfast due to her initial anxiety surrounding the day. "Mm. Right over there," she said softly, motioning to a table set before all others. Their names were scrawled out in beautiful cursive writing on note cards, marking the very seats they were to occupy.
Thankfully, they wouldn't be forced to sit alone. Their families would be near by and would hopefully help things to feel less tense. Isadora wasn't sure that it would but God could she pray. |

Xevon let out a short noise and bobbed his head. At least his name looked somewhat okay. The silence was mind-numbing to the prince, who was normally chatting with anyone and everyone. Besides, it was about time that he finally pissed her off a little bit. Especially where she couldn't do anything to him.
"Well, at least there's actual food," Xevon finally, mostly unable to help himself, began to ramble. "Can't imagine what would happen if it was just treats and delights. Oh, I think I'd starve. Can't imagine that. Didn't get this... physique just eating treats and sweets." He slid forward, taking the chair and pulling it out for Isadora with a slightly sly grin. "For you," he hummed. The more theatrics he could put into it, he was sure the more she would get irritated. |
