Carwen had already begun to decide that she would take the left way and would use the large stacks of crates over there to run up the wall and escape. Carwen neither cared, or wanted to know what the other pirate was doing. That was until the other woman yanked her behind the other, smaller stack of crates in order to hide. Carwen almost shouted at the other pirate but figured that this woman must have a good reason for pulling at the arm of such a well known, ruthless pirate. So she followed swiftly, and when she crouched behind the crates, it was almost as if she had disappeared. Her small size telling it as if she was just a lost, scared child. Though of course, that was all ruined by the sharp dagger in her hand.

There was a thunder of footsteps getting closer, but Magdalene didn't flinch. Once they had all passed, she waited for their steps to fade before standing suddenly, releasing the woman's arm as she did so. Magdalene took a quick look around to survey the situation, and set off in the same direction as the crowd with a brisk stride.

Carwen supposed that Magdalene knew what she was doing. Besides, Carwen's escape route had been toppled over by the crowd. So Carwen instead tip toed after Magdalene, not hiding from the other pirate in the slightest. She just supposed she should be quiet.

Magdalene didn't dare run for the possibility of catching up with the mob. She'd figured out, after being chased many times, people rarely headed back the way they came. When Magdalene first got here, she quickly mapped out the alleyway system, and knew there was a way out the direction the crowd was going back into the village. After not seeing the pirates, perhaps they'd go back to the village, and Magdalene could go the other direction - the one that led to the forest.

Carwen wasn't one for running from danger, normally she was danger. Fortunately for the crowd, she didn't feel like fighting or running after them. So she just quietly followed Magdalene who seemed to have the whole town mapped out in her head.

Magdalene looked behind her once after a few twists and turns, wondering why the other pirate was still following her. She stopped for a moment, and let the other catch up before going on. The other pirate had no reason to be trusted, and it would be easier to see an attack when the small woman was in view rather than risking being taken by surprise from the back.

Carwen followed with a frusturated look on her face, she was not worried about the other woman turning on her, though that was a possibility. The problem was, Carwen was tiny and could easily slip away from the pirate if she needed. She was still wary, though mostly frusturate, if it was one of her men, she was pissed, if it was the other pirate's man who'd been caught, she'd still be pissed. Over all, it was just a horrible situation for Carwen to be caught in. She just wanted to be out on the sea.

Magdalene slowed her walking, listening carefully. The villagers seemed to have gone back to the town square, which meant the exit into the forest was open. She hurried that direction, and finally broke out of the confines of the alleyways into the open space of the forest. They were not safe yet, though, and Magdalene broke into a brisk sprint to put distance between herself and the village.

Carwen silently followed Magdalene out of the village and into the woods. It now was obvious that Magdalene had looked at a map or something before entering the village. It seemed like a smart decision, though Carwen's people hardly ever got caught so she'd never needed to make a get away. More than half the time she got herself out of the trouble with ease, but the mob of people had scared her enough to even consider running, and now she was here, following another pirate deep into the forest.

Suddenly, Magdalene screeched to a halt. She looked at the area around her, then up the tree that spread above them. A glint had caught her eye, and she now tried to find it again. There! A small chain was wrapped around a thin branch near the top of a tall oak tree. Her brow furrowed, "Listen pip-squeak," Magdalene's voice was gruff, "Think your light enough to reach that chain." The pirate knew no one on her ship would be able to reach it, even if they were light. It would take a delicate touch to reach it, which the half-pixie may contain.
