Imani almost sobbed in relief when Zeus spoke. "It's me." She said, looking him over. Minor scratches, and he probably sprained or broke something. "No, Loki told me he was with the mothers and cubs." She answered, "I left Loki in charge of the others, can you walk? We need to get you back before the rouges find us."

His vision still blurry, he nodded, and tried to rise to his paws, on the first attempt he collasped, the second he nearly fell, and luckily caugjt his balance. "You'll have to lead the way, I can barely see anything." He whispered, making sure only Imani heard, if the others knew he couldnt see, Pride or Rogue, you never know what might happen. He leaned on Imani's shoulder and twined his tail with hers for guidance, as the two made their way out of the den.

Imani tried to catch Zeus as he fell, and as he almost fell again. "We can wait a while, we don't need to go right now. I think they are still fighting."

"Okay." He said, slowly backing up, his vision was returning slightly, but he was still pretty much blind. And Zeus hated that. He layed down by the cave wall, and looked in the direction of where he thought Imani was. "Whats going on out there?" He asked, pointing his tail towards the entrance. He could hear the sounds of fighting, ut couldnt see it, he wasted to known how his Pride was holding up.

Imani hated seeing Zeus like this, and she could tell he couldn't see well. "The fight is getting slower, it looks like we are winning. We have a few more minutes before we need to leave before someone realizes I'm gone and sends someone to look for me."

"Okay." He said, as he fully trusted her, but he felt mad at himself to. He was supposed to be the King, out there fighting with his Pride. He should be taking care of Imani. Yet she was taking care of him. He lay down on his paws, his headache getting worse as he waited. Eventually though, he drifted off to sleep, the headache seething off slowly, and for once this whole day, he was in peace, beside the love of his life.

Imani paced restlessly around the small cave, stopping to listen at every sound. The roars of the fight started to get quieter. "Zeus, we have to go, now." She said, shaking him awake.

He woke up, his vision better than before, but still blurry. He lookedbtowards Imani and nodded, leaning on her sligjtly for support, enough not to hurt her. His ears were perked, waiting for any sound of incoming rogues or other Lions. He heard the sound of approaching paws, and recogbized the voice as he talked. "King, Queen." He said, stopping for what he thought was a bow. "We won the battle, and most rogues are dead. But we couldn't locate the former royals." Zeus nodded, and said. "How many of our own?" He asked, staring at the ground. "Four males and a lioness." He said with a sigh, as if he didnt want to talk about it. He didnt really know Loki's history, but he feared realative went down. "Loki," Zeus asked, looking towards his general location. "Gather the others and lead them back." He paused, letting it sink in. "Imani and I will follow behind, we'll be back when we get there." He said, hearing the footsteps fade.

Imani winced when Loki said the numbers. Five more members, gone. Imani shook off the feeling, telling herself she would mourn properly when she got Zeus home safe. "Are you feeling any better?" She asked as they walked back towards the camp.

"Yeah, its suprising actually." He said, walking pretty much blindly towards camp, he was leaning less on Imani, but their tails were still twined. "Imani," he asked, still staring straigjt ahead, "Whrn the rogues took you, what did they say?" When he finished those words, he looked at Imani, seeing her clearer then before.
