Hyll did not want to accept the help, even from a well know and kind faerie. She wanted to insist that she was fine, and hurry on, but be free wasn't the only unhealthy one. Hunger gnawed at the young nymph's stomach. Hyll wanted rich soil, water, sunlight, and time to grow. The running turned her one pretty tree into a skeleton. Slowly, Hyll nodded, "Yes please."

Nakia paced back and forth beside mommy Rowan before changing into human form. Raising her arms above her head in a large stretching movement. Then staring at the nymph thingy that Alvaro was helping. As that was what her instincts told her to do. Alvaro nodded, wings fluttering as he called upon his old magic. A deep, healing kind, what he used to help the injured in the medic's house. He helen out his hands, green, pure magic emitting in waves from his hands. Slowly, slowly he gave the tree a piece of himself that it could have and suck the nutrients out of till they got it to wherever the girl wanted to go. All magic requires a sacrifice, he just tended to use his soul. Not that that was a bad thing, as faeries are naturally born with three different souls. He used the same soul he used to redevelop the barrier. Reuse your souls kids.

Hyll did not like that the little child was looking at her. It made Hyll feel like prey, and she shrunk in on herself. Now that her tree was healthier, some green flooded back into the nymph's pale complexion. "Thank you," She murmured, "Do you have a grove around here?" As in, is there a large area where nymphs all live around here?

Alvaro smiled but it slowly faded. There was so many attacks recently that the other nymphs might have fled or died. "That is a hard question to answer. Hickory Hill used to be full of other nymphs but with the recent manticore attacks it is quite possible that they had fled or died." Alvaro winced at the word, it just sounded so foul.

Hyll made a choking sound, and blinked rapidly, "Where else could I go?" The nymph needed to find a place to set down her tree as soon as possible. There wasn't time to find another grove. Rowan knelt down besides Nakia, "Honey," she whispered, "Offer to let her put her tree down near us. She needs a friend. Please."

Nakia looked up at mommy Rowan as she spoke. A look of understanding slowly settling on her face. She'd lost her mother and father and sister and brothers recently too. She was pretty sure nymphs didn't have families but this girl had lost everything. Just like Nakia had. Slowly, the little girl got up and approached the nymph. Then plopped down on the dirt in front of her. Pushing Alvaro out of the way much to the surprise of the faerie. "You can stay with us if you want. We don't have a-a um, a grove? That's the word right? Yea, we don't have a grove but we have each other. And that's the best we can ask for right now. Plus, it's not half as bad as it should be. You want to stay with us? In the faerie border? It's very protected though i kind of haven't been." So far, Nakia had only been in the outskirts, she had yet to meet the other little boy mommy Rowan and Alvaro smelled of. She hadn't even been in the faerie village. But she was going to go anyways.

Hyll was older than this little girl, as least physically, yet she seemed to be the strong one. At the shifter's words, Hyll felt her heart filling, "Really? Cou..Could I?" For the first time in a long while, Hyll felt a vague smile on her face, "Thank you."

Nakia shrugged, "yea it's fine. Don't worry about it. No one will mind. Anyways," Nakia paused to release a yawn, "can we please go to the village now then? That way Hyll can get back and set down her tree?"Nakia looked pointedly at Alvaro, who always seemed to know exactly where he was. "Oh yea sure, let's go then. My magic will eventually wear off so your tree needs some real dirt." Alvaro smiled at the little one before getting up and fluttering his wings. Looking around for the way home and as soon as he found it, his mark pulsed with light.

Hyll stood, picking up her tree and cradling it to her chest. After all of this time, Hyll was not about to loose her tree, or see harm come to it. She hurried along with a purpose. Rowan had met Nakia's eyes and smiled, trying to say 'thank you.' She hoped the little girl understood.
