Sloane looked around the bar, and noticed that many people were pretending to not be trying to listen in. She scooted closer, their shoulder's brushing, and dropped down her voice even further, "Look. I'm only telling you this because you told me about the issues in your kingdom. The King, Queen, and Jydal," as well as more than half of the palace staff, including the guards, "Were... poisoned, or got sick, or something. I was out when it happened, but they aren't getting better. Has been like this for half a year. Our healers finally figured out what it is, and a few of the items needed for the cure are in Hell." Sloane silently dared Kanu to call her kingdom weak, and firmly went on, "I don't need to kill anyone - just find what I need, and get back out." That was all the information Sloane was willing to divulge, and even then, it was more than what she was comfortable with. However, Sloane could also understand while Kanu would be unwilling and hesitant to let a rival into his turf. Hopefully her words will have convinced him. She asked again, "So, will you do it?"

Kanu bent his head down a bit, though his sharp ears could easily catch any word that Sloane said. At her words, his eyes widened, and he released a tiny gasp, the situation in the Heavens above did not sound good. Perhaps his people were in the middle of a civil war, but his mother and sister were still safe. He knew well enough that Sloane cared not for her king and queen, but it seemed as though she cared enough about someone in order to risk a trip to his realm for some ingredients. Kanu would promptly 'forget' this information, he had nothing against Sloane, and truly didn't wish her any harm. Finally, he pulled away with a sigh, taking another swig from his drink, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Yes, yes I will. Tomorrow you will need to give me more information, so I can put us in the right place so your journey will not be far. Not now though, a tavern is hardly the place to share such knowledge." Kanu sighed, there was a difference in him since Sloane had seen him last. Although he still held himself high and prideful, the childish humor was practically gone. There was even the faint impression of mature-ness on his face, something that had practically never been there before unless he was in the presence of Set.

Sloane's face didn't change, but there was an internal release of tension. If Kanu had refused... Sloane still might have found a way into Hell, but it would not be a pleasant trip. She still doubted such a trip could be good, but at least she had a semi-trustworthy guide, and wouldn't have to traverse an unknown world on her own. Taking another sip of her ale, Sloane frowned down into it. Although she did not drink often, she still knew the taste of ale, and what she was drinking did not taste like how it was supposed to. Adding onto that... her head was feeling sort of foggy, and Bulla nosed her arm in concern. Sloane groaned under her breath, and shoved her mug over to Kanu - the movement being annoyingly sloppy - "Kanu, check my drink. I thin...think I got somma yer... uh. Super-powered shit." That was not was Sloane meant to say. She propped her head up in her hands, and didn't even look up when she heard a thump in front of her. She could tell who is was by their voice - the original bartender, "Here is... um... here is your drink? Ma'am?" Sloane grumbled out an agreement, and the confused bartender walked away. ... No fucking way this was happening, "Awh fuck. My heads gonna... g'na feel like shit tomorrow." Edited at November 27, 2020 07:59 PM by bumblebee

Relief coated his face, hopefully this would go well and he could get Sloane in and out of his realm as fast as possible. As it was, he was hardly safe, and he doubted she'd be any safer in his warring realm. It was unfortunate that Sloane's home needed Hell's aid at exactly the wrong time, but he'd help her as much as she needed. Better to go with him and remain under his watch than go with someone sketchy that would probably try to murder her or keep her as a hostage to win the war. Sloane's slurred words caught his attention immediately, and after listening, he picked up her drink and took a sip, his eyes immediately widening. "Oh shit, you did get some of my 'super-powered shit.'" He immediately paled a bit, the drink wasn't meant to be a drink at all, it was literal poison. Any mortal that drank it would immediately die, and the effects on immortals weren't as bad but it definitely wasn't great either. "I-I'm not quite sure what's going to happen to you. This isn't even a drink technically, it's a poison. I-, well uh. Shit, I swear if you fucking die I'm going to be pissed," Kanu growled, his eyes narrowing in on Sloane's sorry state. He didn't think she should die because of it, but anything was possible to be honest.

Sloane flipped Kanu off, keeping her head propped up in her other hand, "Well, it look like yer 'poison' is g'na make me pass th'fuck out." Think, Sloane, think. "If I die, Imma come back t' haunt ya. So, there." That was not what Sloane meant to say, but it was still true to the situation. She was pissed, but there was also an extreme anxiety factor about being so weak in front of Kanu. That was the last thing she ever want- and oh she's sliding. Sloane's head slipped out of her hand and thunked on the table. "Ow." She was done with this. All she had to do what leave the bar, walk a ways, and get to her little home that Sloane's paid for in the town. The problem was not getting there. Her feet definitely did not want to move or go anywhere - and her head was still on the table oh shit - "We n'vr speak of this ag'n," she ordered into the wood is the bar table.

Kanu was very, very grateful that Sloane's head was practically stuck on the table, as he couldn't help but chuckle softly at her predicament. It wasn't like he was planning on murdering her or speaking of this to anyone, but he would definitely hold it against her for the rest of his life. Not really, but the image of Sloane's head lolling about would definitely never be too far from his mind. "Okay well that's lovely but you need to sleep this off, like now. You're gonna feel horrible tomorrow, I'll give you the tonic Rue makes me when I get too hungover." Kanu sighed as he stood, his eyes scanning Sloane's slumped figure. "Do you need me to like, use as a cane? Granted you're pretty short so I wouldn't be a cane, but you could still use me to lean on or something." Kanu shrugged, by now they had caught the attention of a few people. The Heiress of Heaven and the son of Set really were quite eye catching.

Sloane sat up slowly, and glared at Kanu. She may not have full motor control, but it didn't take away from her frankly terrifying gaze. Slowly, pronoucing every word carefully, Sloane gave Kanu a less-than-polite, "When I've slept this off, you are so very dead." Sloane, trying to maintain any shreds of her dignity left, stood up, and pointedly flopped against Kanu, "Yer drink, yer problem. Bulla c'n tell ya where t'go." Bulla fluttered around Sloane anxiously, and chirped at Kanu, "Oh! Oh! Oh! Annie - Annie will be alright? She isn't so, um. Saggy? Ungraceful? Kanu-Kanu, please help. I'll lead the way? You follow me?"

Kanu merely rolled his eyes at Sloane's normal anger, she was always angry, so it really wasn't much of a difference than normal. He was less afraid that she'd do anything to him at the moment though, especially since she could barely lift her own head. "Yea I'm sure you will, if you even remember this," he huffed, his eyes showing his mild concern at her state. Kanu didn't think she would be awake for much longer, in fact, he was pretty surprised she hadn't completely passed out yet. When she flopped against him, his eyes widened and he immediately brought his hand around to steady her, his touches very, very light. He didn't want her to kill him later, if she even remembered all of this later. Kanu's purple eyes caught on Bulla's fluttering form with ease, and he gave her a reassuring smile. "She should be okay Bulla, she's just very, very drunk. If her immortal system is anything like my father's then she'll be fine by tomorrow morning. And of course I'll help, I'm not a pompous ass, not much anymore anyways. Lead the way then, I got her." Kanu kept his attention split between Sloane and Bulla, keeping a careful eye on Sloane, and being very, very careful to not touch her much. Edited at December 14, 2020 09:58 AM by Sunflower

Bulla did a worried flip in the air, and began to lead the way out the door. She was halfway out before she suddenly chirped, "Wait!" The little dragon dipped down and pulled a coin purse from a pocket in Sloane's pants, and (after a bit of juggling things around) grabbed out two coins, "Although there was a mistake, we still need to pay!" Bulla explained, dropping the money into a startled bartender's hands, then flying back to tuck the coin purse in Sloane's pocket. She then began to lead the way once more. Sloane watched this all with a fond smile, her face unguarded for once.

Kanu watched curiously as the little dragon pulled out the coin purse and plucked out the two coins. He'd been planning on coming back after setting Sloane down an paying for the drinks, but it seemed like Bulla had beaten him to it. Quickly turning back over to look at Sloane, who he still had one, cautious, arm around, he noticed her fond smile with slight alarm. Sloane so rarely smiled, that this was probably a once in a lifetime event. The mortals didn't even understand that they were literally watching a miracle. Once Bulla returned, Kanu quickly looked away and followed the dragon, adjusting around Sloane. "How far away is the place you are staying at? I'm not quite sure if Sloane can stay concious for much longer." The last thing he wanted was Sloane to pass out and him have to basically carry her back to her room, as he felt that she would not let him live after a mess like that.
