i can! --- Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot... shit! Rhys flailed around, hopping on one foot as he grabbed the other, "Ouch - not now stupid foot. And stupid wall." He had accidentally slept in, which normally wouldn't be too much of an issue, but today was different. Today was the day of Rhys's job interview at the bakery place, which was pretty important, and Rhys was honestly panicking. ...hence the rushing around the house, stubbing toes, and generally making a fool of himself. Luckily, his sample pastries (which he had perfected, thank you very much) were already done, and situated safely in a Tupperware. Within the minute, Rhys had forgotten about his sore toe, and was at walking outside, Tupperware in hand. After locking the door, Rhys set plugged the address into his phone, and began walking. ... It was a twenty minute walk away, but Rhys didn't have a car, and Uber was stupidly expensive.

Enzo was having a pretty decent day, the bakery was doing great, and there hadn't been an attack from the other gang for quite a few days now. It wasn't much of a respite, and he was still short staffed due to half of his employees recovering from the fights so he was working major over time. There was supposed to be a person coming in for an interview, and he came with wonderful endorsements. Enzo just really wanted this interview to go well, especially with all the shit going on. His employess needed an extra hand, and so did he. None of them were awesome bakers, but they all were master coffee brewers. So the bakery was doing good, but not as good as Enzo needed it to be.

Rhys ending up being two minutes early for his interview, having jogged part of the way. Luckily it was cool enough that he was sweaty, although his hair was a bit windblown and he was out of breath. Stepping inside the bakery, the little bell on the door chiming, Rhys took a moment to look around. The bakery was clean and well lit, with the front counter being the primary centerpiece of the room. There weren't any customers at the counter, just a (giant) man behind it. Rhys mentally prepared himself - Aria wouldn't have recommended it if the people weren't nice - and have a awkward little half wave, contain in his other than, "Hello! I'm Rhys - I'm here for the interview," he shifted the container in his hand, "And I brought some sample pasties."

The bakery had reached the inactive part of the day, where its normal customers were too busy with work or life to come. That was the exact reason why Enzo had made sure the interview would be scheduled during that time. They were already understaffed and he didn't want to make his employees work harder then they already had to. As it was, they were all taking a break in the back while they had few customers, and they needed all the breaks they could get. Enzo looked up as someone walked in. The first thing he noticed was how tiny the guy was, then came the introduction and the pastries. "Oh hey Rhys, nice to meet ya! I'm Enzo, I own the bakery, and samples? That's gr-" Enzo was cut off as a storm of people appeared from the back room. Well, it wasn't a storm exactly, there were only two people that came out, but their heights more than made up for it. One was a man even taller than Enzo, with lanky limbs and a relaxed gaze that reminded one of a lion's. Watching, calmly, waiting to pounce. The other person was a woman, who was as tall as Enzo and was even more buff than he was. Her biceps could easily crush a watermelon. Despite her size and rather intimidating stature, there was a wide smile on her face, filled with childish excitement. "I heard the word pastries and they weren't made by Enzo so I had to come over." Enzo glared at the woman's back as she suddenly appeared in front of Rhys. "My name is Vetra, Aria already told us all about you, I was wondering, could I maybe have one of those pastries? Pretty please?" Vetra gave Rhys her sweetest smile, hoping that the bandages peaking out under her sleeves wouldn't scare the little guy off. Aria had said that he was pretty tough though, so Vetra wasn't sure. The other man sidled up to Vetra, a lazy grin on his face as he leaned against the woman. "I'm Idris, can I have one too?" From behind the two giants, Enzo released a heavy sigh. Those two had a terrible sweet tooth, he couldn't even hire the guy before they were on him like a hawk, asking for sweets.

Rhys was about to properly walk up to the counter and hand over the Tupperware when more giants emerged. Rhys felt like he kept on looking up, and ended up craning his neck all the way back to look the two new people in the eyes. His other hand rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, "Uh, yeah, sure. I brought a few different things, but I can make way more, especially with more kitchen space and more ingredients." He did splurge a bit to buy the higher end ingredients, and a wide variety of them on top of that, to showcase the best that he could do. Hopefully, Rhys would get the job, then he could use the kitchen at the house to practice new recipes, then mass produce them here. He looked down to fiddle with the lid of the container, then opened it up. Inside were macaroons, vanilla cream puffs, and strawberry tarts, all of which honestly made Rhys's mouth water a bit, "None of them have peanuts or peanut-based things, although they aren't vegan or gluten free. I can modify recipes to do that, though." He offered Vetra and Idris the container to take their pick from, then slid past them to set the Tupperware on the counter to offer Enzo a try. After setting the container down, Rhys was able to uncover a small file folder from underneath it, which he also placed down on the counter, "That is my cover letter and resume, as well as job recommendations from my previous place of work. I will be honest that I've gone through a few jobs in a very short period of time, but, well, I believe Aria probably told you about why that is." Rhys gave his best 'I really need a job and am a hard worker' smile, and clasped his hands together in front of him, "I hope the pastries are good. I haven't had time to bake like I used to."

It took Vetra a singular moment to take in all the pastries in the box before snatching up a strawberry tart, Idris took a little longer but finally settled on two macarons. Idris thanked Rhys but Vetra was too busy crying tears of joy at the deliciousness currently inside her mouth. Meanwhile, Enzo watched with a rather exasperated expression, leave it to the two fucking giants he worked with to be the biggest softies ever. Enzo grinned at Rhys as he approached and simply took one macaron from the tupperware. He nibbled on it as Rhys brought out his cover letter and resume. Out of the corner of his eye, while Rhys' back was turned, he noticed Vetra give him a thumbs up and glare at him. She was very obviously telling him to hire Rhys or she'd probably end up quitting or murdering Enzo, and he wasn't sure which one was worse. Enzo nodded at Rhys' words and released a heavy sigh. "Ah, yea Aria told us about all that. Sorry you got pulled into all this shit man." After that, Enzo picked up the resume, scanning through it with interested eyes. "You went to college for ceramics? Good for you, wish I'd gone to college sometimes, then I think about how much debt I'd be in and I forget it." Enzo huffed as he continued scanning through the papers. So, in all honesty, Enzo didn't really know what he was supposed to be looking for. All of his coworkers also happened to be part of the gang, and none of them had given him a resume. From what Enzo could understand though, this kid in front of him was a damn good dude. "Well, to be quite hoenst, you seem over-qualified for this job. Your baking is amazing and if I don't hire you it's quite possible that Vetra will kill me." He pointed over at Vetra, who was speaking to Idris but kept turning to pointedly glare at Enzo. "I'm willing to hire you as long as you think you don't think you'll live within the next two months. We're pretty understaffed and it's hard to get replacements. So, are you willing to work here?"

Rhys grinned brightly, "I don't see myself moving anytime soon," it wasn't like he could at the moment. Unless Ian kicked him out of the safe house, Rhys was going to sticking around, "And I am definitely willing to work here." The place was comfortable, and despite the intimidating nature of his new co-workers, the tears Vetra cried for his pastry made him feel safe and relaxed. He could tell that they were softies (as long as he stayed on their good side). "And yeah. I liked going to college, but my bank account really hates me for it. Plus I hardly ever actually use my degree - younger me wasn't really planning for the future," Rhys shrugged, "But it hasn't really mattered what degree I have in the jobs I've applied for." Since the job application seemed to be going well, Rhys grabbed one of the other strawberry tarts and nibbled on it. It was pretty good, but Rhys knew he could do better, "So... when do I start? I pretty much never other plans, so I am flexible regarding hours and which days I work."

Rhys' words brought a relieved smile onto Enzo's face, he seemed like a genuinely good guy. Plus, he actually wanted to work here, (though Enzo doubted with his track record he had very many options in the first place) which was one of the few requirements had for his new hires. "Either way, good on you for even going to college, regardless about the degree. You're doing it cuz you like it right? Then who gives a shit, do you dude. Otherwise you end up like us and, to be quite honest, that's not a very good thing to be." As Enzo spoke, he put Rhys' resume back properly and slid it over to the other man. At Rhys' eagerness to start, Enzo displayed a proper smile, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the counter. "Hm, well you could start Monday if that's okay. We're closed on Wednesdays and most holidays. I'll put together a schedule with you in it and send it over to you via email if that's okay. Also," Enzo's voice lowered at this point, "are you okay with taking other's shifts if we have an... unexpected event again? I promise that you'll work the same hours regardless if you say yes. If you say no that's okay too, I was just wondering."

"Starting Monday works for me," Rhys didn't really have many plans. Those kind of went out the window when one was hiding from a magic mafia, "And as long as I'm free, I don't care about taking over other people's hours. I should be free anyway, unless my siblings are in town, in which case I'd make sure to inform you all." Rhys was always the employee that, where ever he worked, picked up the most hours from other people. Since he didn't have much going on - even before all of this - Rhys was the first person his place of work would call.
