A soft gasp of surprise came from over the phone, and Killian's voice sounded mildly distressed. "Oh so you can tell a entire stranger your name but not tell me? I have never been more betrayed in the entirety of my life." It was obvious that Ian was joking, you could practically hear the change of attitude in his voice. Aria meanwhile, stuck her tongue out at the phone and rushed through her sentence. "Yup, he told me first ha, maybe because I'm not such a butt like you are. See you soon Ian!" Aria chuckled softly as a fresh wave of curses came over the phone but she merely hung up with a smile. Aria's eyes landed on Rhys, and for a moment, there was real pity in them. "My name is Aria Lovett, sorry I should've introduced myself sooner. I'm Killian's unofficial healer, sorry you got pulled into all this mess. Ian tends to be quite reckless. He's a wonderful leader don't get me wrong, he cares for all-well most of us." Aria shrugged, a tiny smile on her face. "Sorry about kind of dragging you out of all of that, I just didn't think you wanted to deal with that for much longer."

Rhys hastily gestured his hands in front of him, palms facing Aria, "No, no, no - please don't apologize. You just saved my life, so thank you." His face was quite concerned - he didn't want Aria to think that he wasn't grateful or that she did something wrong, as it was just the opposite in fact. "Please - lemme treat you to a smoothie while we wait for Ian. He might be a while, and well," Rhys face reddened, and he ducked his head down, "Making portals always makes me feel really hungry..."

Aria smiled at Rhys, he seemed a decent sort, someone who wasn't going to actively try to kill her, she could definitely get used to him. Considering the way Killian had been speaking to him, she was pretty sure she'd be seeing Rhys more often than he knew. "Well, I'm always down for free food, though we have to hurry. I doubt Ian will want to wait for us, always in a hurry as if he has things to do." Aria rolled her eyes, but she was simply teasing, as was the usual for her. "Also, you can make portals?? Wow, that's.. you're so powerful dude."

Rhys shrugged with - slightly - forced casualness, "I mean... I suppose so? That sort of magic gets dangerous pretty quickly, though, so I don't dabble that much in it, even if it is my main power." Rhys pointed towards a small weed in a crack of the sidewalk, "Although it's my secondary power, I'm much more practiced in plants, hence Ian's nickname for me: Flower Boy." The two walked into the smoothie shop, and Rhys jumped to another topic, "But anyway - order whatever you want. I always end up getting the same thing every time I come."

Aria noticed Rhys' sudden...stiffness when she started asking about his powers. For some reason, they seemed to make him rather uneasy. Aria wouldn't push, she wasn't one to be all nosey like Ian was, so although she was definitely curious about the extent of Rhys' powers (especially since they were his main power) she didn't push, and went along with the change in topic. "Oooh, I don't know what to get." Aria's eyes went wide in wonder as she looked at the big menu on the wall. "There are just so many options, this is insane." Aria giggled softly, her eyes staying on the menus.

Rhys was grateful Aria went along with the topic change, and the tension drained from his shoulders. He gladly continued along the line of smoothies, rather than way-too-powerful magic. "My favorite is the Sweet Sunrise. I... kinda come here so often they just start making it for me without asking," He chuckled lightly, "So I can't help but recommend that one. They all are delicious, though."

Aria bounced happily on the balls of her feet as she went over the menu, the necklaces around her neck making soft clinking sounds. "Hmm, that one does sound good, and we should probably get something for Ian too, I know he likes anything with pineapple, literally anything," Aria shivered, "it's almost scary how much he likes that disgusting fruit." After scanning the menu, Aria finally said, "okay Ian can get Tropical Sunrise and I'm gonna get Berry Blast. I'll pay for his so don't worry about it. It'll make up for him being pissed at me." Aria grinned, like Killian couldn't literally hunt her down for the rest of eternity if he felt like it.

Rhys shrugged as he pulled out his wallet, "I can pay for it. It's easier that way." The two reached the front of the line, where Rhys placed their orders - although as he had told Aria before, a lady who had recognized them already had his smoothie going - and handed over his credit card before Aria could try to pay. As they walked off to the side, Rhys shot Aria a grin, "Maybe that'll be enough for Ian not to skin my hide for causing him trouble again."

Aria glared but said nothing to free drinks, she was all for free food. Especially free sweet things, and paying for Ian's drink as well make her like Rhys even more. "You know what, I think I actually might like you as a person. Which is saying a lot since I don't like any of Ian's friends." Aria raised an eyebrow at Rhys for a moment, scanning him over again. Perhaps Rhys' smart, kind personality might actually get Killian to be a nice guy again. "And I really, really doubt Ian will even touch you. He's not mad at you, trust me, when Killian gets mad," Aria trailed off, her eyes fogging over before she quickly shook herself out of it. "Yea just, trust me, you worried him, but he wont be mad at you. He likes to act like tough shit but he really isn't, if anything, he'll be mad at me for getting your name first." Aria laughed softly, she had a rather youthful glow about her, and she drew people in with her easygoing nature.

Rhys laughed with her, running a hand through his hair with a grin, "Yeah, I don't think Ian and I are exactly friends, but that is a relief... and you seem really nice," Rhys offered, dropping his voice slightly, the soft tone melding into the peaceful atmosphere of the smoothie place, "I really am thankful for your help. You seem like a good person - I hope...." he paused, "I hope I'm not making any assumptions, but I do hope we can be friends?" Rhys really needed some more friends. It was kinda sad that the most interactions he'd had these past few weeks were with customers from his job, or two folks from a gang. He hadn't wanted to meet up with any of his other friends in person, in fear of their safely, but well... Aria would be able to defend herself if he attracted any trouble, plus he genuinely wanted to get to know her.
