Iris tilted her head slightly. She straightened her stance and raised her chin up. trying to appear taller than the other wolf. Of course she wasn't actually bigger but she could use the illusion that she was. "A better question would be who are you." She said around the gopher. Her voice was even. " And what you and your wolves doing on plains territory." What had he called her Roadrunner? Another wolf in their pack probably. The rain had probably darkened her fur. She met the eyes of the other wolf. Who was this wolf.

I scoff. This omega is talking to me?! "Well, if you must know, I am Beta Jeraboa of the desert pack. My pack and I are seeking refuge form this downpoar. Now, awnser my question. Who are YOU?" I say. I wag my tail in indignation. This is wasting my time. I hold her gaze and do not let her back down. I'll bring her to my dad after she awnsers my question.

Well if that was how it was going to be... She matched his tone. " For your information I happen to be one of the best hunters here on the plains.... desert wolf." She narrowed her eyes slightly, ears flat, her paws pressed into the earth, her claws burrowing into the ground. "You talk tough. Trying to make others think your bigger than you realy are.. figuratively speaking of course." Acting like the other wolf and shoving their own words and tone back at them. That's what Iris always did. And it normally made the other one back down. Her tone turned sweet yet harsh. Honey and vinegar. " If your so tough why are you hiding on another packs land?" She asked.

I try not to laugh. "Okay, One Of The Best Hunters On The Plains. Is there a way to shorten that? It is quite a mouthful." I soften slightly. That should knock a good blow. "We are sheltering here is avoid the flash floods from the rain. We are attemping to find the plains Alpha. Will you lead us to them?" He returned to the strong voice he used ealier. But it was still softer then before. Just slightly. Edited at May 25, 2024 06:13 AM by Bobcat

Was that supposed to be an insult? Or did he actually belive that. This wolf had no respect. for the first time Iris noticed the wolf fang around his neck. And where did he get that? A prize from a challenge perhaps? He did say he was beta after all. She swished her tail thoughtfully, thinking of what might happen if she led them to camp. She could see pups and elders in the pack. Fine. She'd Let Them fallow her back. " Fine." Iris half snapped. Half said. No matter how harsh she sounded she still had some compassion in her.

I start. She agreed? I smile softly. "My pack has a pride in long names. I would hate to tell them your name is longer. It would break their hearts. Do you have a way to shorten it?" I know it is not her name. No Baffin would name her pup that. I catch my father's eye and tell him to come over. "This is my father, Alpha Saguaro. Father, One of The Best Hunters On the Plains. Yes, it is a month full." "Son, are you flirting?" "No!" I say in a panicked voice. Why does him think that?

A smile brushed the edges of Iris's mouth. " Call me Iris" She said, Her voice starting to warm. ( starry it's so short I didn't really know what to put here)

(It's fine) "Well, Iris, that is a better name. Should we go?" I ask. I wag my tail and woof to my pack. "You want to get out of the rain?" "YES!!!" The pack yells. I watch the pack trot up the hill. I lick my little sister as she comes to my side. "This is my little sister, Onyx." Her light brown fur contrasts with her black eyes. Edited at May 26, 2024 10:22 AM by Bobcat

"Hello, Oxyx." Iris said to the young wolf. She looks to be bearly older than a pup. Iris glanced at the desert pack. They looked wet and cold yet glad that they would be able to go somewhere safe. Iris turned around "Fallow me" she adjusted her grip of the gopher she had cought and started walking. (I'm having writers block)

Onex follow obediantly. I follow with a more caucios pace. I wag my tail softly. "Hey, Iris," My necklace feels cold "I am going to warn you. Most of my pack have not seen a lot of water, so they may be scared."
