Davao could tell the wolf was timid but since she answered his hello clearly he knew he could let her out without being harmed. So far he had let out two older male brothers, six puppies ranging from four weeks old to four months, five other male and female juveniles and two females that were the mothers of the six puppies still living. They had all cautiously left to start warning other wolves they knew that were still alive to go into hiding. Now she was the only one left. Lifting up the latch of her cage with his nose he slowly backed away to giver her space.

Honey lifted a paw, then paused. Was this really happening? She held in a short breath and stepped out into the cold concrete floor. A small smile slowly brightened her face. She was finally free! well not totally free, there was still the scientists and the main building to get through. The scientists! Some of them might be around! " some of the scientists, er humans will be around!" Honey said in a breath " wait, how did you get past them?" A small cloud of th former suspicion crept over a small part of her mind.

Davao chuckled and turned to start heading back outside. “Don't worry they won’t be around anytime soon.” With that said he walked through the doorway with the plastic strips and out into fresh, cold snow. Now with all these wolves rescued he could return to his life of solitude. (Or so he thought…). Confidently wagging his tail he made his way out of the clearing to the darkness of the tree line.

Honey took a few steps towards the strips of material then walked out into the moonlight. She took a deep breath of fresh air, she hadn't been outside for a long time. She looked around taking in the stars, the moon, and the trees. She dug her paws into the cold snow. It was wonderful out here. she leaped towards the forest where she could be free! Her muscles stretched as she raced towards the trees, not having had real exercise in months. the white snow crunched underneath golden paws as she ran. finally she paused just before the trees. Breathing hard, she wondered if she could even remember how to hunt. Food was usually given to them on a regular basis. No work needed. she had lost sight of the other wolves. Maybe she could find one and they could travel together for a bit. She sniffed the air trying to find a scent trail, after a moment she found one and began tracking it,

Davao walked along but it didn’t take long for him to sense someone was tracking him. Hastening his step he trotted more into the undergrowth, making sure to keep low to the forest floor and letting his natural camouflage take over. He started trying to confuse whoever was following him so he started making some fake tracking signs in different directions. Then he started to dig a shallow hole to sit in and wait for his possible rival.

Honey lost the scent, trails of paws Went forward then doubled back. She paced around the area trying to find the freshest scent trail. there! It was the freshest right? She was really out of practice tracking if she had to second guess herself. She decided to follow the scent trail as it seemed to be the freshes and now as she was tracking it, the longest. She found a dug up pile of dirt, and strangely enough, the wolf who had rescued her in a hole. What.

As soon as the wolf made eye contact with him Davao lunged forward tackling the wolf and tumbling into a nearby tree where he had it pinned beneath him. But then he paused. It was the wolf from the building he just rescued. Cautiously he got off of her. “Why are you following me?” He asked as he turned around again and continued walking. He needed to keep going to keep his distance from that horrid experiment place. Why would she be following me? He asked himself as he trotted along.

sorry I forgot about this -
Honey yelped as she was shoved into a tree. ow As the other wolf stood up she slowly got up off the ground. Her left shoulder hurt a lot. She shook the dust and dirt out of her long fur, wincing slightly as her leg moved. " I don't..." She called after the other wolf as he walked further away. " I don't really remember how to bun all that well. I followed some tracked and I guess they turned out to be yours." Edited at February 7, 2024 08:37 PM by Dawnforest

Davao snarled to himself, annoyed. He didn’t think rescuing these wolves would mean that he would have a “tag along.” “Then find someone else to teach you.” He barked as he upped his pace to a trotting run. “I don’t have a need for anyone.” He said looking over his shoulder. Going back to focusing on his own task he sniffs the air for signs of danger before continuing north. Heading for the mountains.

Honey signed as the other wolf walked away. Well she could try to hunt by herself. She sniffed the air trying to find a scent trail. No luck. She traveled towards the east, where the sun was starting to rise. She trotted through the forests, her ears tilted down slightly to keep them from catching on the lower twigs. The dried leaves on the forest floor crunched under her paws. She yawned, she hadn't gotten any sleep since yesterday. Edited at February 9, 2024 06:02 PM by Dawnforest
