I headed to the barn as Derek sat there and just flopped on the grass in front of my cabin. I glanced back dn noticed that Alessandro had walked out of the house and Derek was staring at him. I just ignored the two and went to the barn to do chores. I didn't even get through the doors and I felt two children hug my legs, nearly knocking me down.

"Toby!" The twins yelled at the same time, giggling. I crouched down,

"How are my two favorite girls?" I asked happily

"Good!" Emily, older of the the two, said.

"Pa' said he would take us to go ride!" Elizabeth said excitedly, "Can I ride chick? She is so pretty!" She asked, begging

"No, you can't ride chick, she is still young and isn't used to hanging around little kids," I responded and began to pet both of the girls' heads. I don't know what it was, but whenever my father and I pet their heads it almost looks like they could melt. It could be the fact they are heavily calloused and it feels good against the scalp. either way, once I got up they followed me into the barn and I saw Garrett already there.

"You wanna throw the bales up while I keep them tidy?" He asked

"Yeah I can do that," I responded, the bales were around 50 pounds, so it wasn't that hard, just tedious. With a sigh, I picked a bale up as Garrett climbed the ladder up to the loft. I started throwing them up and the girls just sat and watched, waiting for our father.

Mr. Martens walked across the driveway and saw Derek laying in the grass. The moment Derek made eye contact he was on his feet and making his way to the barn before he could get scolded. He sighed and shook his head and saw Alessandro leaving the cabin

"Well, do you wanna see what you might be doing when you put more muscle on?" Mr. Martens asked as he continued walking to the barn, "three boys are currently in there doing chores," He explained.

I have to go for a bit as I have karate to go to, I will be back in about 2 hours.

I walked out the cabin wondering where to go and saw one of the guys I had seen on a horse earlier and offered a smile before starting to walk. I guessed I would just take a walk and get used to the place, after all it was going to be my home for a while. I looked over towards the barn where there were two kids hugging the legs of the guy I was sharing the cabin with, I didn't pay too much attention though and continued with my walk. I stopped every once in a while just enjoying the warmth of the sun on my back, it reminded me of home and that just put a small smile on my face. The farm definitely seemed a nice place, I hadn't seen anything quite like it before but that was great for me. Admittedly I felt abit lost walking around on my own, I wasn't really used it and I kinda wished I had Crystal with me to talk to. I would have settled for texting or calling them but that was out the question. I just absorbed myself in the music from my headphones, atleast I could focus on that. I started quietly humming along, it definitely seemed to be an ideal situation.

I turned my head to see the farmer heading over to the barn where I had already seen a few people enter. I noticed that one of the guys got up and went into the barn before Mr Martens could say anything and took note to not get on his bad side. Not that I would anyway but it was always good to prepare myself for whatever situation I needed. I smiled as Mr Martens came over to me, putting my headphones over my neck and listened to what he said, nodding. I was definitely intrigued to what sort of work I would do, I mean that was the whole reason I came here. I followed him into the barn and took a look around, a mixtute of scents flooded into my nose. I noticed that the three guys working were the ones who had been riding earlier and told myself that I would probably be seeing them around alot. I watched for a while taking everything in.

(Dw, I normally sleep around that time anyway because I'm in the UK and I'm gonna go horse riding now aswell so I probably wont be able to reply until I get back)

It was starting to get hot from all the physical labor,

"Dude do you mind if i take my shirt off?" Garrett asked "You won't make it weird right?" He asked and I gave him a look.

"Just because I'm bisexual doesn't mean I like everyone, plus its just platonic between me and you," I said ending it off with a chuckle, "plus I'm actually gonna do the same." I said pausing to take off my shirt and he did as well.

"Oh my lord, that feels so much better," He said and I cracked my back before picking up the next bale and tossing it 10 feet in the air and into the loft.

"You ain't wrong, it is also probably colder down here than it is up there," I said "When we are done with dinner wanna head to the lake for some late night swimming?" I asked Garrett

"When would I ever say no to that other than in the winter," He said with a laugh.

"I will join you two for that," Derek said coming in a removing his shirt and climbing in the loft as well and I huffed.

"You are just going up there so you don't have to work as much," i almost growled at him. "But either way you are piss outta luck because i can use one hand per bale," I said giving a mischievous grin.

"Now look what you have done," Garrett said before getting hit with a bale he didn't see coming.

"What the heck dude?" Derek said with a panicked look. "why are you so freakishly strong!?" he asked and I just laughed.

"I have two younger sisters that like to be picked up at the same time and thrown into the water; we don't have a rope swing and only a dock to jump off. Each of them weigh around 60 pounds too!" I said chucking the next two up.

"Just why man?" Derek asked with an almost kind of scared tone, "Why are you working so fast?"

"The sooner we get this done, the sooner we can eat. The faster we eat, the sooner we can swim," I said

"Sometimes I forget you are both brain and brawns," Garrett said

"But he is all bite and bark only once for a warning," Derek said complaining.

"You both should know he gets it from me," my father said coming around the corner with Alessandro. I looked back on my work and tried not to focus, i am worried i'm giving off a bad impression. I am still covered in blood across my back and torso from the deer head, and now I'm shirtless so my scars from bull riding can be seen and are added to the mix. Derek and Garrett only have scars from calf roping last year and ram riding when we were little.

I heard what Mr Martens said to the boys working which just made me look over at them, my eyes caught on Toby and I slightly raised my eyes as I saw that he was shirtless, noticing he had alot of scars and blood still on him which didn't bother me all too much. I did wonder what the scars were from but didn't focus on it too much, I thought about asking later on but then rejected that thought because it would mean he knew I had been looking. I watched as he worked, watching the muscles in his back and jumped realising I had literally just been observing and studying Toby. I shook my head quickly, stopping any unwanted thoughts. I was abit annoyed at myself admittedly, I knew not to stare. I just decided to focus on what they were doing. After all Mr Martens had said this is the kind of work I could be doing and I wanted to prepare myself fully. It definitely seemed hard work and I didn't think I would be able to throw bales like how they were doing, I now knew what Mr Martens meant by needing to put more muscle on. I placed my headphones back on over my head guessing it was okay and started humming quietly as I watched what was going on. I knew that it would be alot harder work than I had initially intended, which would be alright but it was also quite daunting.

(Sorry it's fairly short)

I was so zoned into my work i didn't realize we were finished. I paused for a second to process why there wasn't another bale.

"Calm down Hercules," Garrett as he came down the ladder, i decided to pick on him a it.

"Awe, wook at your wittle scars," I said and he started smacking me away. I just started laughing

"Dude stop," He said in a playful tone, "Not everyone can stay on a bull like you can," He said and I just stuck my tongue out on him.

"If you don't put that tongue away I'm gonna bite it," Derek said without thinking.

"Woah, you're a bisexual too Derek? Why didn't you tell me?" I teased him opening my arms like I was gonna hug him.

"What no!?" He said and started running, I acted like I was gonna chase him and he just ran faster. I started laughing so hard that I got light-headed. Garrett wasn't any better he was on the floor laughing so hard it was clearly starting to hurt. Once I caught my breath I looked over at Garrett,

"You good there Gary?" I asked, using his nickname

"Yeah," he said with a chuckle. He was out of breath and still laying on the stone flooring of the barn. I let out a breath of relief from all the laughing, both of us forgot that Alessandro was there. I turned to him, realizing I basically just came out to him.

I listened to my music while watching the guys work, it was oddly calming and I enjoyed the moment although did wonder if it was a little weird to keep staring so whenever I got any thoughts like that I would just look at the ground. I did feel kinda guilty aswell watching them doing so much work and me just standing here doing nothing but told myself I needed to conserve my energy for when I actually did start working, especially if it was going to be like this. I knew it was abit of a lame excuse but I did need to tell myself something to take my mind off it otherwise I would just try do something and probably embarass myself in the process.

I realised I had just been staring at the floor and when I looked up I noticed the guys had finished working and were talking. I was intrigued as to what they were saying and pulled my headphones off my head, leaving them around my neck. I noticed they were joking around and did want to join in with speaking to them but shook that thought off. No way was I going to explicitly show that I was listening. I was just kinda gazing away from them when I heard Toby say about being bisexual and looked at him. I wasn't sure if I had even heard him right but my mind really wouldn't play those sort of tricks on me right? I shook it off, good to know, I thought, trying to ignore any other thoughts. I did watch as one of the guys was running around and tried to hide a smile as they were both laughing. I didn't want to seem like I was watching them, not that I had a problem with that before today. I chuckled quietly at the thought and looked up seeing Toby was looking at me and smiled quickly. A hundred questions ran through my head to ask but I didn't ask any. I looked towards the door, but I was wondering what to do now, if I should walk out the barn and do something else as it was clear I had been watching them.

I felt my face get heated for a second but I stood up before giving Garrett a hand, “Let’s go get our fire set up Gary,” I said and he grabbed my hand “Since you are sleeping in the same cabin as me, we will be sharing the same campfire,” I said turning to Alessandro. “If Garrett and Derek are okay with us I would invite you to come swim with us as well,” I said turning to Garrett
“I don’t mind, but as this dude said he is bisexual, so if you aren’t too careful he might fall for ya-” He said joking around and I gently punched him in his side. “Dude what the heck,” he said and I gave him a look.
“It’s not like we are going without clothes,” I said “We will still have swim trunks,” I said smacking him on the back of the head “Also if you want to swim but don’t have a pair you can borrow one of mine, but it might be a little bit,” I said rubbing the back of my head with a chuckle, it turning a little redder than it already was from the sweat, hard work, and laughing.

I just decided to stay in the barn, I figured I could introduce myself to the other guys, it would definitely make staying here alot more easier and pleasant especially because I would probably be working with them at some point. I realised my gaze had drifted towards the floor again and looked up to see Toby helping Gary up and listened to what he said. I nodded when he spoke to me "Oh okay." I did wonder if I should offer to help but I would get to that when it came to it. I looked up at Toby as he spoke about swimming and looked towards Garrett and Derek, I definitely would want to go but it just depended if the others wanted me to go with them. I couldn't help but chuckle at Garett's reply although my mind to wander to the fact that Toby was bisexual. I tried not to focus on that too much and looked back at them, chuckling at Toby's reply to Garrett and listened to what Toby said to me. I chuckled again but shook my head slowly "Yeah, thanks for the offer but I did bring my own" I smiled actually glad I had remembered to bring my pair. I originally hadn't thought of bringing them but when Crystal mentioned that I could go swimming at some point, I had just shrugged and added them to my luggage.

I shook my head free of my thoughts and was already walking towards the barn door, waiting at the entrance for the others.

Before we headed out of the barn I threw my shirt back on as the nights are extremely cold. I went to grab our firepit ring and put it on the gravel, Derek and Garrett had agreed on bringing the food tonight and bringing wood while I set everything up and cooked it.

I brought a stump over for each both us to sit on and I set up the logs once they brought the wood. It didn't take long for a nice fire to be set up; most of the other guys were just starting to set up, and we were putting our food above the fire.

Tonight we were eating Salmon, but I decided to smoke it instead of the usual. So I wrapped them in foil and hung them above it so the smoke would cook them instead. Once I took them off the fire, the meat just peeled off the bones and I only had to pick a bone out of my mouth once or twice. Smoked salmon was always my favorite as well, so whenever Derek and Garrett offered I always accepted.

They got Salmon because they were part of the lucky group who got to move cattle during the salmon run, so they would set out nets and catch them.
