Iris smiles,"I would love to see your wolves in action. If all of them are as powerful, large, and beautiful as dear Diablo and Solstice here." The two wolves flick their ears at their names, but do nothing else. Zytia smiles back,"It is fun hunting with them. They are predators of the night." Iris bobs her head in agreement. Suddenly Diablo and Solstice sit up, going stiff. Zytia frowns,"What is it?" Then both goddess saw... A god approaching. Zytia sifts through her knowledge of the gods. This was Arcas a minor moon god under her aunt, Artemis. As well as the god of clouds and mist.
"Good evening. Iris, Zytia." Zytia's electric green gaze studies Arcas, before transferring to the bear beside the god. Her gaze unreadable as Iris greets the god,"Arcas." The god then precedes to ask,"How is your evening going?" Iris glances sideways at Zytia, noting her sudden cold nature. Zytia was not a sworn virgin goddess, however she was not a huge fan of the gods. She had heard all the stories of the gods, and it had made her dislike most of the gods. But... She had not heard much about the god before her, so reluctantly she relents.
"Good evening Arcas. My evening is going well. How is yours?" Diablo and Solstice were on their paws now, staring at the bear. Unsure of what the bear would do. Zytia gestures at her wolves and the two settle back down, though it was clear that the two were ready to leap up and defend Zytia if the need came be. Zytia glances sideways, trying to spot her aunt, the one who had dragged her to this party. However the goddess of the moon was nowhere in sight. Zytia would not doubt if the goddess had managed to slip away, Zeus would not be angry. Artemis was his favorite daughter.

Arcas nodded to Iris as he awknowledged him then he looked at Zytia in hope of an answer from the stunning goddess. He smiled kindly when she answered, but noticed a hint of coldness in her eyes and remembered that she was the niece of his half-sister, Artemis. He shuddered fro a fraction of a second before realising that her wolves and Gebo were eyeing each other warily and he put a calming hand on Gebo's head in the hope that their animals would not cause any problems. "May I speak to you alone?" He tried his luck. "I must ask of you a favour."

Zytia's cool gaze stays on Arcas, wondering what in the world the god wanted. And then he asked,"May I speak to you alone? I must ask of you a favour." Zytia frowns,"If you have a favour to ask of me, ask me of it now." That was her saying she did not want to speak to Arcas alone. Zytia glances down at her wolves,"In fact, I was just about to leave." Iris frowns at that, she had been enjoying their conversation. Zytia nods at Iris,"It has been a lovely night." Zytia's gaze flickers to Arcas,"Farewell." Then without another word, she turns and starts off towards the exit. Diablo and Solstice on her heels. Perhaps it had been rude of her to so quickly deny Arcas, but.. Zytia had felt like it was the right decision.

"Zytia! Wait... Please." He called after her. Whistling to Gebo, who had meandered his way over to the large table of food. He jogged through the crowd and out into the night. "Zytia! Oh in the name of Zeus... where are you!?" He scolded himslef for seeming so suspicious and untrustworthy, and ran into into the night to find the goddess that had somehow stolen his heart that evening. He cursed his uncles and cousins for putting him up to this.

Zytia swiftly exits, about to take off and disappear back to the meadow. When she hears Arcas, and she hesitates. Was he so desperate that he chased her outside? Perhaps... Zytia sighs, calling back Diablo and Solstice, the two wolves bounding towards her before the goddess finally turns and heads back into the light. Finding Arcas waiting, she hovers halfway in the shadows. Warily eyeing him,"What? What do you so need that you followed me outside?" Her voice was not cold, but rather calm and a hint curious. What did the god want? After all he had put in the effort to chase her outside and yell after her.

He paused as he saw Zytia approaching him cautiously. His heart fluttered a little and he practiced what he was to say in his whirring brain. "Well, I was wondering if you would go out with me... That's why I pursued you outside. Sorry." He knew he had outdone himself, she was far too pretty to ever date him. Him of all people, that kid who had been cast into the sky for his mother's punishment. That kid who had lived more years in the sky than on Earth.
He looked up at Zytia for a moment. His deep blue gaze watched carefully, before he looked down at his shoes.

"Well, I was wondering if you would go out with me... That's why I pursued you outside. Sorry." Zytia frowns,"Go out?" She shakes her head,"Sorry, but I'm not really looking for a relationship right now. Besides, I'm sure some other god put you up to this." Zytia turns and disappears into the night, she didn't want that conversation to carry out. Perhaps she wasn't a sworn virgin, and she did want love, but she didn't have a good feeling about that. And she had a feeling that some of the other gods had put him up to it. And she wasn't going to fall for it, she wasn't going to be one of the goddess the other gods laughed at.

He felt empty. Even though it had only been a dare, her rejection hurt him more than he ever thought it would. He had been sept off his feet that evening for the first time since, well, forever. And now he felt no larger than a speck of dust as the goddess hurried away into the night. Recklessness took over him for a second, and he started forward to follow her, but then he held himself and took a few deep breaths. She had already been chased enough that night, Arcas thought. Surrendering, he whistled to Gebo and began walking home to Whispering Falls. There was no point in staying at the party, he would just be miserable, with too much on his mind. Gebo plodded along silently with him as they neared the Falls, and stepped through the flowing curtain of water with Arcas close behind. As they emerged from the secret tunnel, Arcas spotted his two horses grazing near his woodland home. He called goodnight and then settled himself down in the mossy bed he had set up under the stars, as it was a warm night, and he didn’t feel like sleeping in his small temple on the hillside.

The trip home didn't take long and once back in the meadow, Diablo and Solstice bound to joyfully great their packmates. However their goddess wasn't feeling as joyful. She felt bad for rejecting Arcas, but she felt like that was the best thing. Something about it all just told her that it had been a joke on her... But a part of her also said that perhaps Arcas was being completely honest and just maybe the other gods had nothing to do with it. Zytia sighs as she settles down, her wolves settling down around her. One by one the wolves drift off, but Zytia was left wide awake haunted by her thoughts as she stares at the sky. Wondering if her decision had been the right one.

Arcas woke in the middle of the night, his breathing heavy. He realised he was sweating slightly and that his brain was whizzing with thoughts of the dare. But now, it didn't really feel like a dare. He had actually come to like the goddess, and whished that somehow, the outcome had been different. But alas, it was not to be, and he would have to get over it. He was wide awake now, and knew that he would get little sleep before dawn, so he ran silently into the meadow from his sleeping place under the vast willow tree and whistled for his horses. Vaulting onto Pego bareback, he called to Tala and asked if she wished to follow. She replied in the affirmative and trotted swiftly up to Pego before walking beside them. Tala was too heavily in foal to be ridden, so she was content to follow.
