Thanks! It's gonna be a fun one XD

Nevermore kind of got a lowkey spoiler for most of it via RP.

But it's mystery, magic and later on a mafia... in the 60s... and yeah.

But the title escapes me. The most i have is this goofy sounding; "Mafia in Magic"

Name:
Lilith Asa Walsh (Primarily goes by Asa)
~~~~~
Previously Known As:
Addilyn Stolle/Garcia/Stevenson (See: WSHAB)
~~~~~
Age:
23 (Was first born around 7500 BCE)
~~~~~
Gender:
Female
~~~~~
Category:
Witch
~~~~~
Level:
11
~~~~~
Appearance:
Asa’s hair is naturally completely white, with absolutely no color in it. Since it’s the apocalypse, and long hair tends to get in the way, Asa’s hair is short and in a pixie cut, with one side short, with a side part, while the larger portion of the part is longer and highly textured, courtesy of Taeyang’s free haircuts. Although her hair is definitely eye-catching, the thing that brings most people’s attention are her stunning eyes, which are rather interesting, as both eyes are a light blue, but one seems a bit more grey in color than the other. They are her most stunning feature, especially since they are the lightest eyes in the witch community.
~~~
Her cheeks are relatively rounded, with a sharp jawline and thin lips. Asa’s nose is straight, and pointed at the tip, it should be crooked but due to her accelerated healing, it has remained perfect. Across her nose and cheeks are a dash of freckles, which also are splattered across her arms, back, and legs. Asa’s skin doesn’t lack all pigment like her hair though, and due to spending the majority of her time outside, she has a decent tan. It counters her white hair pretty nicely, so she isn’t all colorless.
~~~
More than half the time, Asa’s nose and mouth are covered by either a bandana or scarf, depending on the weather or what better matches her outfit. This also covers her scarred face, the leftovers from her younger years where her accelerated healing could not aid her during her fits of rage from her exposure to The Mist. Asa has a thin, but dark scar cutting vertically through her lip, another set of three scars begin at her cheekbones and cut down to her jaw, claw marks. They are old, and faded, but still there, and tell of a fierce battle between some, large, mutated animal and Asa. No one other than Kit knows what animal made the scars, and Asa prefers to keep it that way.
Those are definitely not the only scars on Asa’s body though, and there is very little space on her body that doesn’t have a scar or two. One of such places is her left shoulder, but instead of having scars, there is a tattoo.
~~~
Asa has quite a few tattoos, all of which have meanings, though the meanings are unknown to everyone but herself. This, of course, is by her own choice, and even Kit respects that, as he understands that his witch does have a life of her own, as does he.
The first tattoo is a beautiful black rose on Asa’s left shoulder. It is absolutely stunning against her skin and is very dear to her. As a plant enthusiast, as well as a former owner of a flower shop (she’s had a lot of lives okay?) where she made bouquets regularly, she knows how different flowers mean certain things. The black rose for her personally means both mourning and a big change. (Since I am, her creator and this tattoo is important I will be giving the entire meanings, not just the basic one)
The black rose represents Jason, in all his many forms. Although Asa stopped looking for him after that wonderful (kinda terrifying) life they shared together, he is never far from her mind. Truthfully, she mourns the fact that he is not a witch, and that he will never truly remember her in the way that she’ll always remember him. Thankfully, she has yet to see him since that life, and hopes that the apocalypse keeps him a far distance away from her, (or he just is dead, that would be fine too) so she doesn’t have to experience that ever growing pain of Jason not ever remembering her.
The other meaning to the flower is just as deep, and has to deal with Asa herself. Lilith has lived many, many centuries, and knows that she is not perfect, nor will she ever be. What she regrets most are those years where she was weak enough to be controlled by Jolon, those lives were filled with a terrifying amount of bloodshed and wars. The flower is a reminder that she can never allow herself to revert back to such a state ever again, and to always remember that she has to be the one making changes to herself, and no one else can do that.
~~~
On her back right before it turns into her neck is a simple tattoo of the sunrise. It is made mostly of just lines, with little, simple mountains in front of it. There is no color to this tattoo, and the meaning isn’t much, just that Asa has always loved sunrises, and the sun itself has always been meaningful.
~~~
On Asa’s right side, from her ribs down to a bit below her hip, is a phoenix. It is intricate, and has red highlights instead of being just plain black. This was probably the most painful tattoo for Asa, and she’ll freely admit it. The pain was definitely worth it though, and Asa absolutely adores the tattoo.
~~~
The last tattoo is on her right arm, from the elbow down are vines wrapping around the entirety of her arm. They are simple, but very meaningful to her.
~~~
Another random, unannounced addition to Asa are her piercings, which she got on some mission. She left, and two weeks later came back with piercings. She has a septum, standard lobes in both ears, one industrial in her left ear, and an upper lobe in each ear. She quite enjoys the way she looks, and is rather proud of the piercings, as needles have never been quite her thing.
~~~
In this life, Asa isn’t short, in fact, she’s around 5’7, which is relatively tall for a woman. Unlike her two partners in crime, (Taeyang and Reginald) Asa is not lanky, and has real muscle on her. She is not a body builder by any means, but she is not a stick like her friends. Due to her being very ill, she can’t always rely on her powers to be helpful, so she pushed herself to become stronger, and has the body of a wrestler. With strong arms, and thick thighs, not to mention the pretty decent six pack, Asa keeps the unwanteds out of Dawn’s Bliss, as she is a particularly intimidating figure.
Asa holds herself tall and proud, a result of ages and ages of knowledge and just general living. Despite that, Asa often has a mischievous grin on her face, and sometimes that can be a bit more terrifying than her frown.
~~~~~
Personality:
Being an absolutely ancient witch means that Asa has seen, and endured many things, especially considering that for a good portion of her lives she was under Jolon’s influence. Although she does not let it show, this has taken a toll on her, as 9,000+ years of living and remembering would do to anyone. Asa has seen countless wars, pandemics, and scenarios that seemed like the apocalypse, but nothing like this. The 23 years she’s been living in this life have been filled with one disaster after another, after her last few lives that had been filled with accomplishments in the witch community, she’d been hoping for a relatively relaxed life this time around, maybe even become immortal for a little bit. Of course, Asa had no such luck.
~~~
Her mother, a witch that died soon after birth to Asa, named her Lilith, as witch parents often name their children after their most notable lives, and Asa’s aura radiated off her in waves within hours of her birth. Fortunately for Asa, her father was a bit more forgiving of Asa’s… bloody past and gave her the middle name Asa, a name that she much prefers to the bloodied history of Lilith.
~~~
Asa is truly a delight to be around, with a constant grin and a flirtatious attitude. Much like Taeyang, she is not looking for anything permanent, and just prefers having fun between her missions. Fawn is the only sort of exception to this rule. Fawn is a dryad, and her dwarf lemon tree is within Dawn’s Bliss’ bubble. Fawn and Asa get along… very well, and both Taeyang and Reginald like her, Kit doesn’t, though Asa isn’t quite sure why. Regardless, Asa easily pulls in the ladies and men (and anyone else), but while at Dawn’s Bliss, Asa’s eyes remain only on Fawn, or her family, for obvious reasons.
~~~
A true joker at heart, Asa pulls many pranks, and at times, seems pretty immature despite her age. Truthfully, this is just the result of years of war and lives of no laughter. Asa just wants to be allowed to be herself, even if she doesn’t really know who she is anymore.
For the most part, Asa has thrown herself into her work. There are very few instances where she can be found at Dawn’s Bliss for more than a week. Asa really can’t sit still, and prefers the dangers of the outside world to the boring tavern that Taeyang owns. Besides, Asa’s bond with nature is finally strengthening to what it once was, and being out and about only helps the bond. Nature has always been very important to her, and the opportunity she has to strengthen that bond is one that she would not pass up.
~~~
Despite her seemingly mischievous nature and happy demeanor, no one can ever remain so happy for so long, especially with such a burden on her shoulders. Asa has lived for a long time, too long to be honest. She has seen wars and death and life, but she grows weary of it all, and sometimes wishes that she could forget it all, for forgetting seems like it would be much better than remembering at times.
It is in those lonely times that Asa forces herself to remember, forces herself to listen to her dark past. The drink is called Water of Remembrance, and witches who drink it remember every single thing they’ve done in vivid detail, and get to feel exactly how they affected others. Just touching the water causes the memories to return, it is a strong magical substance, one that Asa created herself. In those moments where she forgets herself, she drinks the water, as a reminder of the pain that she has caused for all races, human and magickal alike.
~~~
Asa is not afraid to own up to her faults, or the bad things she’s done in past lives. Since being Addilyn, she has changed, for the best that is. She no longer ignores her people, and instead uses her deadly powers to help her people as much as she can, and pushes herself to become better. Not for herself, but for others who need her help. The sickness prevents these things though, as pushing herself so hard does have consequences, and continuing on the route she is going down she may only have twenty years left.
Truthfully, Asa doesn’t quite mind this bleak reality, she has already grown weary of this life and its hardships. Living a life of work and constant movement may be normal for her, but that’s exactly the problem. Asa longs for something new, something different, and, deep down, a life exactly like the one she had as Addilyn. It was in that life, that she found true happiness, and she wishes for that again.
Asa does her best not to focus on all the negatives in this life, and tries to find her peace within her work and family, whom she loves dearly. The family being Taeyang and Reginald, who, although know of her troubles, do not know quite how to help her. Making her truly happy in times such as these is hard, and her family are the few who can bring a real smile to her face. Though the happiness never remains for long, Dawn’s Bliss is always a welcomed break from reality for Asa.
~~~~~
Familiar:
Kit is a relatively independent familiar, and although he defends Asa, he also knows full well that she is more than capable of taking care of herself. Being a familiar means that although he has lived just as long as Asa has, he has double the amount of knowledge she does. Familiars were tasked with guiding their witches down the right path, one that helped them bond with nature and choose to do good instead of evil. Although the concept of good and evil has shifted over time, Kit has not forgotten his duties, and after the last few lives where he knew nothing, he has taken it upon himself to gather as much knowledge as possible.
Even though he doesn’t try to be, Kit is rather mysterious to those who don’t know him, and although he isn’t shy, he tends to be rather elusive. Kit doesn’t enjoy crowded places, and Dawn’s Bliss is quite literally the last place you’d ever find him, plus, he doesn’t even fit in most doors. This is the perfect excuse for him to not be around, and he makes good use of it too.
~~~
Kit has the body of a snow leopard, but is the size of a pony, big enough for Asa to ride if she wants to. He has shorter legs, with a long, fluffy tail that is just as long as his body. A majority of his fur is pitch black, with no color other than random specs of a pale blue. His two back legs have pale blue brindle up to his lower calf, and the tip of his tail is the same blue. If one looks at Asa and Kit, they’ll notice that the blue on his body is the same shade as Asa’s eyes.
Kit’s eyes are an electric blue in color, and his sharp canines stick out of his mouth and are unreasonably long. He is definitely mutated, but he really enjoys being so large and intimidating.
~~~~~
Wand:
Asa found her wand materials within two months of each other, at the young age of 15. Having been exposed to the Mist at a young age had left her prone to the fits of rage humans often had, but her focus on finding her wand kept the anger at bay. The wood type she’d discovered long ago, it is made out of maple wood, a wood whose owner’s often are explorers and restless. It even has the extra meaning of new beginnings, something Asa can very much appreciate. Her crystal is citrine, a calming crystal that also brings luck. Just by touching the stone, Asa can dial it down from a 100 to a 30, and become much more level headed by doing so. The raw stone is on the bottom, and the place where Asa holds the wand is carved with branches and leaves. The wand is very dear to her.
~~~~~
Magic:
The fact that Asa was completely torn from her powers for hundreds of years has led to a disconnect between her and the raw power within her. Since rediscovering her powers, Asa has had to work much harder in each life to reach her full potential, and this life is probably the first one where she’s had full access to the entirety of her power. The problem is that the more magic she uses, the shorter her lifespan gets. Especially considering that a majority of the spells she casts already take a lot out of her even without the underlying fatal sickness the Mist has given her. This sickness has already taken a toll on Asa, though she tries not to let it show. Typically, she would be the last to die, her magic staving off the sickness for many years longer than a level six witch, but her constant use of her abilities to help others has made her condition worse. Meaning that sometimes her magic comes out weaker or more volatile than she means it to, this is even worse when she doesn’t use her wand.
Asa’s magic mostly revolves around the elements, with very high affinities for fire and air, and a pretty decent affinity for earth as well. The element that she can very rarely control is water, with the exception of the weird water like substance that comes from her subconscious mind. It is called The Water of Remembrance, and is a weird thing that can only be created by Asa. Beyond the elements, Asa’s specialties include magical traps, and speaking to the trees. Other plants are a bit more difficult to understand but she can sometimes understand them. Asa’s blood, like Reginald’s, can be used to amplify spells and potions. Though hers is even more powerful than his is.
Due to her very strong affinities in the Natural elements, Asa’s only Unnatural affinity is souls. She can see other people’s auras, and detect bits of their personalities from it. This power mainly revolves around the dead though, and in places where people have been recently killed, Asa can see and speak with the dead. The longer a spirit has been dead, the harder it is to see and understand them, making it a bit more complicated to use this power.
~~~~~
Other:
Since her pleasant life with Jason, Asa has only had 6 lives, and in all those lives she’s worked towards equality in the witch world, and for the low level witches that were always looked down upon. With her help, the low levels joined together and forced the higher levels to resign from their positions, some stepped down automatically, as many could see the unfairness in it all. There were a few that refused to step down, and those who opposed were quickly defeated by Asa herself.
After forcing the high witches to step down, The Council of Twelve was made. They led the witches with a firm hand, and were all level six and under. The Council was more of a democracy than anything else, but the twelve on the council made the least important decisions without addressing the people first, anything big would call for a meeting. Using a spell Asa created, The Council was able to gather votes from thousands of witches in minutes, and it was easy to create a democracy with a spell that could not be altered.
~~~
The Council also created jobs for the witches, giving them something to do instead of lash out at each other. Before the apocalypse, jobs were often giving food to the poor, and educating lost witches on their powers, a problem that happened often as the populations of humans and witches skyrocketed due to them mingling and creating new souls.
The jobs after the apocalypse were not much different, as there were still those who cared for humans (though it is a dangerous job considering humans can go feral at any moment) and those who educate new souls on their powers. But there were new jobs as well, jobs that suited Asa better than being a teacher or feeding the poor.
Asa is a Guardian of the Light and a Seeker. As a Guardian, Asa escorts children (both witch and human alike) to safe spaces, where they can be taught to control themselves and further develop any powers they may possess. It is Asa’s job to keep the children out of The Mist as much as possible and keep them safe from any un-dead witches or feral humans, not to mention the mutated animals. Being a Guardian is hard work, and that’s why only the strongest sign up for it. Taeyang and Reginald both are Guardians, though Taeyang is only sent out if she is specifically asked for, as she is not considered a warrior with her fear of violence and all. Reginald often works with Asa on her missions, and the two make for a deadly team that seem to know exactly what the other person is thinking.
That is not Asa’s only job though, as she is also a Seeker. This means that any un-dead witches or feral humans that are unreachable are hers to deal with. Asa is an amazing tracker, which is a skill that she picked up from her thousands of years of existence. That is what makes her so perfect for the job, and although she doesn’t exactly enjoy it, it is one of the only ways she can help her people.

It was sunset at Dawn's Bliss. The darkness of the night was slowly creeping over the forests and old, deserted towns, and while once city lights would have made the planet glow brightly, the lights now were most often lanterns with flickering flames and soft, warm glow.
Such was the case when an Apocalypse hits.
Inside the half-tavern, half-apartment building, there was still a bustling of movement and noise. One such person that was part of this organized chaos was Valedictorian Henderson - or Torian - who was sitting on a barstool, with his young daughter beside him.
The two had just come from outside, where Torian had been teaching a lesson on how to start a fire with materials anyone could find in the woods. Of course, this had been done from within the safety of the protective bubble around Dawn's Bliss.
After trampling inside their home - as they were one of the residents of the Dawn's Bliss tavern and apartments - the young girl had hauled herself up onto a barstool, and waited (im)patiently for Taeyang - the owner of Dawn's Bliss - to spot her.
"Eva," Torian's deep voice was firm, yet amused, "Sit down properly on the stool. Ms. Taeyang does not want your shoes on her seats."
"Sorry Papa," the little girl - Eva - murmured, her eyes still on Taeyang. Eva had a form of hero-worship for Taeyang, having been captivated by her colorful and commanding presence since the day they met. She was itching to tell the older woman about her success in starting her own fire after only three tries!
"Patience, kiddo - Ms. Taeyang will be over here in a minute, and then you can ask for your little drink, and see if there is time for you to tell her about your day." The 'little drink' in question was a cold shake, with precious chocolate shavings on top. It was Eva's absolute favorite treat in the world, and Torian let her have one every week - the day being her choice - and today was the day Eva had chosen.

It was a decent night in Dawn's Bliss, something that Taeyang very much enjoyed.
The soft rumble of a few people speaking was welcomed, and she enjoyed the feeling of being surrounded by people who she knew. Very few newcomers ever came to Dawn's Bliss, and most of the time those few were welcomed with open arms. Tonight though, all the people there Taeyang knew like the back of her hand, and that made her happy and content.
Reginald was helping out too, a rare occurence that left Taeyang shocked, she watched from behind the bar as his pink hair bobbed about, serving plates and drinks. Not many had the courage to say much other than thank you to him, and that obviously made him rather happy.
Taeyang finished up the drink she was making for the old witch in front of her, earning a, "thank you doll," before heading over to Torian and Eva. She'd seen the little one earlier, but hadn't had the time to get over. They weren't packed per se, but they were decently busy.
Many people had traveled over to hear the news from Asa, who would be arriving sometime after sunset. Without cell phones, news traveled by mouth only, and Asa was one of a few witches who had the guts to travel over to see the Council and hear the newest info.
As Tayeang approached the duo, she flashed them a bright smile. "Hey Eva, Torian," Taeyang nodded in greeting, tucking a strand of green hair behind her ear. "What do you two want tonight? Are you gonna spend your smoothie ticket?" Taeyang grinned at the little girl. She knew that Eva looked up to Taeyang, and she really didn't mind it. That being said, she definitely wanted to be a good role model for Eva.
Reginald had a problem.
Fawn was mildly freaking out because Asa had yet to return. Despite his numerous attempts to calm her down, the nymph was still fluttering about, panicked. Reginald didn't really know what else to do for her, and emotions were definitely not his thing. So he ended up just walking away, trying to ignore the woman.

Eva was bouncing excitedly in her seat, "Yes, yes, yes! It is shake night!" Her voice was loud, and Torian gently tapped her arm. Eva looked over to her papa, and seemed to understand the look on his face. When she continued again, it was at a softer volume, with no less excitement, "I wanted one 'cause I lit biiig fire all-a by myself!" She then glanced at her papa, who was hiding a smile in his hand, and added onto the her story, "...After Papa teach me how-"
"-Taught," Torian corrected, and Eva glared at him for a moment, although it wasn't filled with any real anger, before moving on.
"-After Papa taught me how t'do it," Eva amended.
Eva had always really, really, really wanted Taeyang to think that she was a big girl - one that could take care of herself.
....
As Torian watched Eva chat along, his heart was full. In his peripheral vision, though, he saw the anxious figure of Fawn - who was Asa's... something. Torian wasn't really sure.
Either way, he wouldn't just let the poor nymph stress herself out (and he could guess what she was stressing about), and got up, asking Eva if she would be good sitting at the bar for a bit. She had nodded eagerly, with bright eyes glued to the cup her shake was being made in.
Torian slipped through the semi-busy bar, and intercepted Fawn, "Hey," He said easily, offering her a smile, "It'll be okay. Asa will be fine - she can handle herself. Firefly just might be a bit slower today, or the meeting took longer - but that doesn't mean anything is wrong." Torian didn't know Fawn super well, but they got along well enough, and wouldn't mind helping her calm down, "Lets go sit at the bar, hmm? Get a drink of water, and take some breaths. She'll be here when she gets here."

Taeyang grinned as the little girl explained her day to her. Although Taeyang had never had any children that weren't adopted, she did like children. Their innocence and happiness reminded her that the world wasn't always as shitty as it currently was. Although there were some children that Taeyang didn't like, Eva did not fall under that category. She was a sweet little thing, and pretty damn smart too, which were things that Taeyang quite liked when it came to children she was to watch or spend a good amount of time with.
A flash of ginger hair and a girl with a broad smile appeared in Taeyang's mind, and she smiled as Eva continued, only half listening. Mortals' lives were fleeting, and it sucked that she'd really had to go through the death of her own daughter in order to really understand that.
Blinking herself out of her thoughts, she finally refocused on Eva and began to prepare the smoothie, throwing her ear in order to listen to the little one.
-------
Fawn dashed fluttered about nervously, constantly looking out the window to try and guess the time. She knew that she shouldn't be so worried, that Asa was more than capable of defending herself, but the trees had been speaking lately. None of it was anything good.
When Torian intercepted Fawn, she wrung her hands nervously, looking from him to the front door. His words seemed to calm her, and she stopped glancing about nervously. When she spoke, her voice was quiet and soft, as it normall was. "I would like that very much Torian, thank you. The trees have been speaking a lot lately about... dark things and I just worry. Like always." Fawn glanced nervously at the front door again before following Torain over to the bar.
-------
Asa was having a shit day. Technically it was already night, which was the first problem as she was way behind schedule. Secondly, going through a damn trial after seven days of no rest, followed by a long, dangerous ride home was possibly the dumbest fucking thing she'd ever tried to pull. Even Firefly was pissed and he was a horse. She could already hear Taeyang yelling at her and see Reginald rolling his eyes and shaking his head in defeat. They'd both told her that she was meant to try to relax a bit, as if the gathering was a vacation.
That had been the plan, but it had been quickly changed when she'd defeated the reincarnation of Jolon in a battle. Yea, the past two weeks had been one problem after another. Although Asa generally liked when she was out and about, free to be herself, at the moment she longed for the comfort of Dawn's Bliss and her annoying ass siblings. Luckily for her, Firefly was just cresting the hill that hid Dawn's Bliss from view, and now she could fully see the tavern. A small grin appeared on her face as she bent a little to pet Firefly with a gentle hand. "Look at that buddy, we're almost home." The horse snorted in response and used the last bit of speed he had in him to hurry towards the tavern.

"There is nothing we can do right now," Torian said, not unkindly, "I can't understand what the trees are saying - you would know better than me - but I do know that Asa can handle herself."
The two sat down at the bar, and Eva turned her brilliant smile towards Fawn and Torian. She did a little check to be sure Papa was staying seated, and then turned her attention to Fawn, "Ms. Fawn-Fawn! Hiya! It's shake night!" And with that, Eva turned her attention back to staring at the shake being made.
Torian sighed, although it was pure happiness, "Short attention right now. But who can blame her," he explained with a shrug when Fawn turned back his way.
...
Further into the woods, in an area still covered by the Mist, two Immortals rode on their own horses - mutated due through the air around them.
One rode on a light gray horse - a mare with an attitude for days - where instead of a mane or tail, there grew plants. Most often ivy grew, but a flower may occasionally sprout.
The other horse was a gelding. He was a deep black all over, save for his hooves, which faded into a light and clear fog, making him silent as he walks. It is the same for his mane and tail, though less transparent. The heavy, white fog curled around him with no rhyme or reason to it. The horses face was a skull - pure white and lightly cracked in places.
And, upon these two horses, sat two people who were ragged and tired.
"Daph?" Asked the person on the skull-faced horse, who had let go of the stiff - yet loose - rope around their horses neck, which was used for steering. (A skeleton didn't have much feeling, after all.)
"What?" Daphne - the immortal on the lighter horse - responded, scanning the area around them.
"I think I just figured out where we were. There is a bubble up ahead."
"Thank fuck."
"Thank fuck indeed."

Fawn nodded her agreement at Torian's words, nothing he said was wrong, but Fawn was always worrying about something. Most of the time it was Asa, but sometimes it was about the bubble surrounding Dawn's Bliss collapsing, other times she worried about someone accidentally cutting down her tiny tree. How people had yet to go crazy with her around, Reginald wasn't quite sure. He could hardly stand her and he'd met people who grew annoyed much easier than he did that ended up practically falling in love with her.
At Eva's words, Fawn smiled at the little girl and gave her a small wave in greeting just as she turned away to stare longingly at her little shake. Fawn turned back to face Torian again, nodding her head and laughing softly. "Little ones are always hyper, I know that I was too when I was a sprout. It just comes with being young I guess," Fawn shrugged just as Taeyang set down the shake in front of Eva.
"There ya go little one, just how you like it, I even added a bit more chocolate than usual." Taeyang winked at the little girl before suddenly straightening, and making direct eye contact with Reginald who was on the opposite side of the room. Both were alerted when someone entered the bubble Dawn's Bliss was located within, with Taeyang's barrier around the place to keep out monsters, and Reginald's ever watching shadows. The two were always aware when someone entered the border. Taeyang tilted her head at Reginald, asking a question without having to, after a tense moment, Reginald simply nodded his head, a small smirk on his face.
"Asa just entered the bubble," Taeyang stated simply, causing Fawn to immediately straighten, as if to get up and leave. "Oh just hold on Fawn, she'll be in in a bit. Besides, you wouldn't want to get in her way while she's untacking. I'll be back in a bit." Taeyang gave the worried nymph a comforting smile before exiting the bar and rushing over to Reginald, who quickly led them out the front door. Behind Dawn's Bliss was the stables, and that was also the direction where Asa would be coming from, so the duo hurried to the back.
Just as they rounded the corner of Dawn's Bliss, a dark bay came out of the woods, and atop his back was Asa, in all her exhausted glory. "You look like shit." Reginald's voice caught Asa's attention as she slid off Firefly's back. "And hello to you too asshole." Asa grinned as the twins pulled her into a big hug, practically squeezing the air out of her. Firefly waited patiently behind them, while Kit watched from afar, he would not be staying around as he could not fit inside Dawn's Bliss and much preferred the comforts of the outdoors.
As the trio finally pulled apart, Asa gave Kit a little nod and the huge cat took off into the woods, he'd return in the morning. "I have lots of stuff to tell everyone." Asa's voice was tinged with exhaustion, and Taeyang simply nodded. "Okay, go inside with Reginald, I'll untack Firefly while you fill in everyone about what's going on." Asa nodded her thanks before disappearing off with Reginald, leaving Taeyang to take Firefly into the stables, lighting the lanterns with her finger. Fire wasn't her thing exactly, but she could summon a small flame.
Asa entered Dawn's Bliss to a pretty decent night, the tavern wasn't packed, but many regulars were there to hear news of The Council.

After Taeyang set the shake down in front of Eva, she chimed a happy, "Thank you!" with a smile that was big and bright. It still remained firmly in place after Taeyang and Reginald left, although she turned to face Torian with a curious tilt in her head "Papa? Why did Ms. Taeyang and Mr. Reginald leave?"
Torian looked past Fawn to meet Eva's eyes, "Ms. Asa is back, kiddo. They are gonna go meet her."
"Okie-dokie Papa. Can I tell her about all the stuff I've done?"
"Maybe later, kiddo. Ms. Asa is probably going to be tired tonight."
"Does she get cranky when she's tired like you do?"
Torian gasped with mock offense, "My own kid! Saying these things! You silly goat - I do not get cranky."
"Suure, Papa. Sure."
Torian shot Fawn an amused look, and shrugged, "I won't agree or disagree with her statements."
-
Eva was still giggling a bit when Asa walked into the tavern. She sat up a bit straighter, and waved wildly at the witch, almost upsetting her balance on the stool, "Hello-hello Miss Asa!" She gave her a toothy smile, and was completely oblivious to the tension that the rest of the tavern held as they awaited the news, "I lost a new tooth while you were gone! And the toothfairy gave me a feather for it."
Torian smiled fondly at Eva, but gave a concerned glance towards Asa and how ragged she looked, "Kiddo why don't you go see if you can find Nox outside? You can take your shake with."
"Do I have to?"
Torian gave Eva the look, and the little girl huffed a sigh, but still headed outside, asking Miss Fawn-Fawn to hand her the shake after getting off of the stool. Torian watched her as she left the tavern, then turned his attention back toward Asa. He didn't want Eva to get worried or scared over something if it wasn't necessary, plus, there were some topics kids didn't need to hear about - especially something that made Asa look as tired as she did.

Fawn worriedly pulled at her green hair, she didn't like being kept out of the loop, especially when it came to Asa. Despite that, Eva's questions and comments managed to make Fawn laugh a little, although most nymphs had no real parents per se, they were collectively raised by the eldest trees in the grove. Eva and Torian's relationship never failed to make Fawn's day a little brighter, especially with their witty remarks towards each other. They had a great relationship.
~
Fawn's attention flew to the door as soon as it opened, as did almost every person's in the tavern. Asa knew that she should probably be used to all the eyes on her, but even after hundreds of years people always unnerved her no matter how confident she tried to be.
Of course little Eva was the first to speak, and her voice immediately drew a smile onto Asa's exhausted face. "Hello Eva, that is a truly wonderful gift, the toothfairy was very kind to you I see." Asa's voice had changed from when she was outside, no longer was she the joking, exhausted woman that arrived after weeks of traveling. No, now Asa was the ancient, just as tired, witch she truly was, and this witch was ready to say what she had to say then pass out in her room for days.
The tavern waited in complete silence as Eva left, as well as any other younger children who shouldn't have to hear whatever Asa had to say. Even Fawn stayed away from Asa at the moment, knowing that whatever news she brought was more important than any emotions she may have. After all, news from The Council was practically the only way to connect with other people and discover how bad the world was doing. Everyone hoped that one day things would get better, but so far nothing had changed since the day the apocalypse had started.
Once all the children were out, and everyone was settled, Asa began to tell everyone of the news. She started out with the normal stuff, about how the death toll was rising, the mutated animals having a field day in a world where humans were no longer top predators. Slowly, things turned darker though, Greece had finally fallen, it had been the last surviving 'country', and had hardly been impacted by the Mist, but somehow someone had managed to slip through the borders and had decimated the population. It had been unstoppable, and now the rest of them were scattered throughout Europe.
The news didn't get any better after that, and finally Asa came to what had been keeping her awake for the last week and a half, the problem that was hopefully no longer a problem. "The last piece of news was actually something I discovered myself on my way to The Council meeting, and it's also why I look like shit." Asa grinned, and her joke made a few people chuckle and almost laugh as well. They soon quieted down though, and Asa was able to continue pretty quickly.
"We were running on through one of the supply towns, it had been one of my regular rest points on the way to The Council, and had been pretty full last time I'd been there. As such, I was pretty surprised when I got within the borders and there was absolutely no noise or light. I figured that something bad must've happened, they were a well defended city and couldn't have fallen because of some mutated animal or crazed human. Of course that left only one option left, a witch." Asa's words made a few people in the tavern wince, witches had once been seen as gods among men, but now, with the sickness, they were more like evil spirits when killed, which had once been a pretty hard task to achieve in the first place.
"Upon fully entering the city, I recognized that the damage had most definitely been done by a witch. I continued further of course, as is my job. After a bit of tracking, I was able to hunt down where the witch was, completely expecting a dead witch. As such, you can imagine my surprise when the witch was not dead, and was rather a fully living, functioning witch." A murmur of surprise went through the crowd, as well as a few gasps. It was rare now when one witch would attack others, they already had so many other things to worry about that fighting each other seemed like a trivial, immature thing to do.
"Of course I eventually confronted the witch, and I almost immediately recognized her aura, it was Jolon's." Instead of surprised gasps of shock, the tavern went silent with fear, and even Asa paused for a moment to collect herself. Although it had been a long time since Jolon's last life, no one had forgotten his rule, and with his main weapon standing in front of them all, the fear only rose.
"I was luckily able to catch her by surprise and defeated her, not without getting fucked up myself of course. I'll shorten this up for you all since half of you look like a fish out of water. After a week of keeping her in a cell with me guarding her, The Council had a trial. She was found guilty and was sentenced to the death penalty, and I promise you she is very much dead, but," Asa's voice paused the whoops of celebration and tears of relief, the crowd going silent again.
"This does not mean we are in any less danger. As we all know, many of Jolon's comrades were also killed that day, and were also just as old as he. The Council is sending out a warning for everyone, we must be on the lookout for these witches, they are just as dangerous as Jolon and stand by the same immoral code as he did. We believe that they are the ones who made Greece fall, so we must be careful about who to trust. Other than that, Taeyang, Reginald and I will be heading out on a mission by the week's end. Please enjoy the rest of your night." And with that Asa had dismissed everyone, leaving a trickle of fear within everyone. Pushing her way through the crowd with Reggie, she released a heavy sigh upon making it to the bar. "I need a drink," she announced as Fawn hopped off the barstool and enveloped Asa in a hug.

Eva, instead of going to find Nox (she learned pretty quickly that she can't just find Nox. Nox will find her, and that'll only happen if the owl wants to), went to the stables. She knew that her papa only cared that she stayed inside the border and didn't stick around the tavern.
"Ms. Taeyang, can I watch you take care of... uh..." Eva had to think about what horse Asa rode for a moment, "...Firefly? I'll stay outta the way."
When ther super-important meetings with Ms. Asa began, all of the other kids became boring - they would all stand by the door and try to eavesdrop, even though they never actually heard anything. Eva just wanted a place to drink her shake and sit, and Ms. Taeyang was good company - if she didn't mind it.

Torian hadn't really gotten to know Asa in this life. It had been more of a coincidence than anything else that they had even met.
Still, he felt some connection to her (she was his original mother, after all), and felt compelled to speak up, "I can watch over Dawn's Bliss while you three are gone," although Torian hadn't used much magic in this life, he was still skilled, and had a full level 10 power behind him, "So you at least won't have to worry about that as much..." because they would always worry, if Torian was being honest. Even if there was a full squadron of witches protecting their home, those three would always worry. The least Torian could do was offer his protection, and hopefully ease that worried burden.

Meanwhile, Daphne and Karter had split off from one another, deciding that two people entering a border at the same time might be too much, and possibly look hostile.
Daphne, being the less intimidating of the two, was going to be the one to 'knock.'
While in human towns one could just walk in, towns that housed witches - as this one was rumored to be (and as Daphne looked in, found to be true) - often had an 'alarm' system, that would alert someone when a person crossed the border.
So, 'knocking' was introduced as a common courtesy. Daphne dismounted, and stuck her hand inside the border, waited a few seconds in order to trigger the alarms, then pulled her hand back out.
Now, she just had to wait for someone to answer her 'knock.'
