Anya The girl nodded to the boy, a smallish smile across her face when he said it was a part of his job. Hopefully, if she could figure him out a little more, it wouldn't feel like it was a part of a job... she didn't want that. She didn't want to be something he was obligated to deal with, a burden if you will. She did want to be his friend, though. Someone he could trust wholeheartedly... though, she supposed that might take some time. And, well, she supposed they had all the time in the world as of then. She girl watched him as he hung the raccoon, and she did feel a bit nauseous, but it wasn't at all as bad as it had been. She looked from the fire and back to him for a moment... the light bounced off him, making him almost glow as though there was a halo around him, and yet, he looked so... sombre. So disheartened. She gave a slight hum in thought. She wasn't sure how she felt about always being traced back to him... she liked Frigus, she did, but it never meant she'd just be Anya. Well, she supposed these people would be different to humans in that respect. They might not single her out due to who she seemed to be attached to. Once the man had stopped talking, she wandered over and gently patted his shoulder, trying a small smile. He seemed a little... almost tense. And she just wanted him to chill out a bit. "I suppose that means you'd be stuck with me... forever," she cooed in with a kind of forced chuckle. Mainly because she didn't want him to feel bad about any of this. It wasn't his fault, not really... he shouldn't be looking so ashamed over answering one of her questions. "Alright... then what would happen now?" She wasn't sure what she was expecting by asking this question... but it most likely wasn't going to be the best answer.

Frigus As he sat there, staring towards the fire, images danced through his mind, he missed the old ways of the wolven empire. Now it was just full of despair and tense with uncertainty and anxiety. The new Alpha was just so intense and unreasonable strit and barbaric in his ways of punishment and the guards were no longer a form of safety. just bullys roaming the streets to beat you up and throw you to the ground just to assert their dominance over you. People who have the power to lie and have you put to treason or death if you so much as gave them a look for it. He felt a light pat on his shoulder, "I suppose that means you'd be stuck with me... forever," her voice brought him back and he nodded with a light half smile, "i suppose so. Thats not really bad though. I enjoy your company." His blue gaze flickered over the flames for a moment in thought until he felt "Alright... then what would happen now?" he took a breath and shook his head, "dont think that this is your fault. you are not to blame for any of it ok?" he stated firmly as he looked at her with concern in his gaze, "the new alphas punishment is that I will be put to death because in turning you, I have replaced my life with yours. And he will have you locked up like a wild animal, baisically imprisonment until you begin to learn to control your shifting on your own. then if he sees you as fit for anything he has for you, you will serve him either as one of the guards or a maid. if he doesnt see use in you, he will kill you."

Anya The girls shook her head and gave a small smile when he said he liked her company. She of course liked his too, but Anya could become a lot when she wasn't overly happy. He'd get annoyed by her inability to do... well, anything after a little while. That was only if she couldn't learn from him, though... and she was trying to keep an eye on what he was doing, so that when she got to have a go at any of what he did it was... easier. Or, that was what she hoped would happen. A frown overtook her smile after a little while, and a look of almost fear was painted through her eyes. She did want to go and see the other kingdom, where Frigus was from, but she didn't want to risk getting him killed. It would be her fault if that happened, if they went over there because she was curious and they'd been found out, that would be her fault. That thought almost made her feel sick... he said not to be guilty about it, but it wasn't that easy. "Frigus, I trust you and your word," she started with a slight shake of the head. "But you do know you're in charge. If you think anything I ask is dangerous, then tell me no, okay?" She asked him with a slightly cocked head. She didn't want anything to happen to Frigus... but she also didn't want to be locked up herself. If they could avoid that then they should.

Frigus He huffed as he sat at the fire, watching it swirl and dance and flicker, the light fading in and out as it illuminated the area around it. "Frigus, I trust you and your word," his gaze lifted towards her as he listened to what she had to say. He felt defeated. like he was failing and everything he had done or said was wrong. He didnt understand why he felt that way but all he could feel was just pure shame. His kind would be dissapointed. And he felt as if he was failing them and his only friend. that was all he had. "But you do know you're in charge. If you think anything I ask is dangerous, then tell me no, okay?" He nodded reggretingly, almost hanging his head, "we cant go Anya. Im sorry. I just wanted you to have something to look forwards to. It seems to be the one thing that gets harder to find as the days go on. I dont want you to suffer that. monotanous routine, no hope, no improvement, no future."

Anya The girl gave a small smile to the man, an almost reassuring one. Of course, she was disappointed, but it was safer not to go... over here, as far as anyone was concerned, she was simply missing. She could try and keep it that way. No one knew Frigus was involved... and therefore he was safe. She didn't want anything awful to become of him... and if they went over there, then it was likely to happen. " "we cant go Anya. Im sorry. I just wanted you to have something to look forwards to. It seems to be the one thing that gets harder to find as the days go on. I dont want you to suffer that. monotanous routine, no hope, no improvement, no future." Anya watched the hang his head for a moment, he just looked so... defeated. The sight made her chest twist, and she bit the inside of her cheek hesitantly. She didn't want him to feel like that... and this certainly wasn't his fault. She furrowed her brows and just stood there for a moment before shaking her head and taking a step or so forwards to him. She reached to place a soft hand on his cheek and tried to give him a small smile. "Don't look like that," she hummed gently, "It's safer to stay here. And I'd rather be here than risk your life just so I can have a look around," she told him before looking back to the fire. "Come on. Let's eat and then we can go have a look around here... find something to do, alright?" She asked in a slightly more upbeat tone.

Frigus He was so stuck inside his mind about the matter that he hardly heard her step towards him, but the feeling of her warm palm against his cheek lightly reassured him, bringing him back to reality for a moment. "Don't look like that," His bright icy blue gaze met hers as he searched hers while she spoke "It's safer to stay here. And I'd rather be here than risk your life just so I can have a look around," He agreed but his dissapointment in himself didnt allow him to form words. When he feels deeper emotions, its like his brain will only allow him to feel them, like he hyperfocuses on the feeling so much that his own words are swallowed by it. "Come on. Let's eat and then we can go have a look around here... find something to do, alright?" All he really knew how to do at the moment was nod. taking a light breath, trying to lighten the heavy feeling in his chest, but it was like trying to throw a one ton stone. He didnt understand quite why he felt so emotional. really it wouldnt be much of a big deal but he just felt so stressed, so heavy. Like his will was gone. His gaze lifted to the sky but he couldnt see the moon yet. was that the effect? or could there be something more going on?

Anya The woman furrowed her brows before taking a soft hold of his wrist and leading him towards a little log in front of the fire before sitting him down, then dropping down next to him. She watched him as he shared the food out... but he just seemed so... dull. She just wanted him to be happy... but he seemed to go from being alright to completely and utterly blank. She wasn't quite sure how to make him feel better again. He gave her a plate made of flat stone with a slice of fish on it, but she couldn't bring herself to eat. She gave a gentle sigh before placing it back down. Her dark eyes gazed over him for a second before gently nudging his shoulder with her own. "What's up? It's all good, you know that. We can find something else to do," she told him, attempting to give him another smile. She wasn't sure why he seemed so down now... she'd tried not to make him feel bad about it... but it hadn't worked. "We can maybe have a look around that little cove of ours... or explore the forest a bit more. We don't need to go over there to find something interesting to do." The woman then went to pick up the little plate again though, the tightness in her chest was just getting worse the longer he was like this... the sense of guilt she had just seemed to be getting worse. It meant he wouldn't be able to go across anymore... or, if he did, it'd have to be without her for safety. She wondered what his kind would have thought about it... if the king hadn't known, then surely the people wouldn't be too pleased about it either. Edited at January 13, 2023 04:15 PM by Hell Bound

Frigus He felt so blank. just there. He felt as if he was somewhere else, like he was lost in his own mind but his mind was just blank. He felt as if he was watching himself through a screen in his head. like nothing mattered almost, but he knew it did. he just felt heavy yet felt nothing at the same time. why did he feel so out of it? This wasnt the conversation they had. it couldnt have been. This was something else. something was wrong. "What's up? It's all good, you know that. We can find something else to do," he couldnt find the words. how could he explain what he was feeling? As he tried to find the words he felt a lump form in his throat and decided to stay quiet. he didnt want to cry. why would he cry? he had nothing to cry over. why does he feel like this? "We can maybe have a look around that little cove of ours... or explore the forest a bit more. We don't need to go over there to find something interesting to do." He felt like a child. emotionally unstable and unable to say what he needed to. He knew she was concerned. he wasnt usually like this. heck he was concerned for himself. he had to say something. He opened his mouth to speak but closed it again as he felt his eyes begin to warm and his throat become sore as he held everything back, "I..." he was stuck. how were the words stuck? he kept swallowing and swallowing, his throat hurt from how tense it was, tears beginning to come to his eyes, "I...dont know-" he took a second to try and hold his tears back but one escaped as he finished his sentence, "-whats wrong."

Anya The girl picked the plate back up again before starting to pick away at the fish... maybe he needed a moment to gather himself a bit more. Her talking all the time was never the type of thing that seemed to help when people were... what, upset? She didn't know. He wasn't talking, but he wasn't moving either. She hadn't gotten halfway through the fish before she heard the man speak. His words were cut up and croaky, and it took her a moment before she looked over at him again his eyes icy blue eyes were surrounded by red... and tears were rolling down his face. "Frigus," the girl whispered gently. She didn't know what was upsetting him... but now he was crying, and she didn't know what to do. She set the plate back down again and turned to him, though, she was so quiet for a little while. "But you're crying," she whispered as she looked the man over. She didn't know where this had come from... and it made her chest tie up into what felt like a hundred knots. "Please don't cry," she didn't know what else to say... there was nothing to say. This man in front of her, who she'd seen be nothing but brave just seemed to be breaking down in front of her.

Frigus "Frigus," Her whisper broke him. He didnt want her to hurt. He didnt understand what was happening. it was like an internal wound he couldnt heal. It was just there. He normally wouldnt feel this way. He knew there was no logical reason for this but it was like there was a fog just setting over him, lingering there. "But you're crying," he shook his head and felt worried and confused. why was this weight on him? whyd he feel like this? "I- dont understand." Another tear fell, "I feel..." he swallowed a few times as he wiped his face with his wrist, "heavy." His breathing was a little shaky as he tried to take a deep breath, "Please don't cry," he looked down at his hands as he clasped them together, "I dont know why..." As he tried to gain a normal breath, he spoke a little clearer but the instability was there like a leaning game of jinga, "somethings wrong... this isnt normal." he looked back at the fire as he wiped another tear as it went, " this isnt right."
