Imani nodded, her brain clouding with exhaustion. She laid down next to Zeus, relishing his warmth. She never wanted to be apart from him again. As her eyes drooped she thought of something. "Did they have any others?" She asked, her eyes half closed and her words slurring together from exhaustion. Edited at January 22, 2024 03:49 PM by _Moonshadow_

Zeus smiled as Imani curled up next to him. He laid his head gently over her neck, and his face took a more serious tone as she asked him the question. "Yes there were others." He started, staring outside the den. He wanted to tell her what the rogues said, but Imani needed rest, and he wasnt going to worry her more. "But they shouldnt attack us for awhile, as they chased me away before they came here." He finished, his gaze dropping to hers. Edited at January 22, 2024 03:55 PM by Wolf Pride

Imani barely registered Zeus's response but nodded anyways, the words leaving her brain as fast as she heard them. She curled up tighter and her breathing slowed, her headache finally fading as she drifted off to sleep.

Zeus could tell Imani was tired and exhausted, as he finished his words she was nearly asleep. He laid his head softly on her neck, keeping in the warmth. Imani was so peaceful when she slept. It seemed all her pain was gone. He smiled as he watched ober her, his eyes landing outside of the den, watching for rogues and ither predators. But a wave of exhaustion came kver him, and before he knew it, he fell into a deep sleep.

Imani woke slowly the next day, her muscles sore from the day before. She got up and stretched her front paws out in front of her, a yawn splitting her face. She looked over to see Zeus asleep and chuckled, "So much for keeping watch." She said, nudging him with a paw.

Zeus eyes opened groggily, as he heard Imani's voice. "What?" He asked, looking around, noticing the sunlight streaning through the den. "Oh, sorry." He said, making a nervous face. "You were just so peaceful when you slept, I wouldnt dare wake you." He said with a smile, nudging Imani playfully with his shoulder. "We should go back to the Pride." He said, looking at Imani. Then it hit him. Had there been others in the den? "Imani, when you were captured, were you alone?" He asked, worry creeping up his gut. If she had been one of many, he had to go back to save the rest.

"Yeah, we probably should." She said as Zeus asked her another question. "I'm not sure. I was by myself in the den, but I don't know if there was more lions anywhere else. Were there others missing from the pride this morning?" She asked, wondering what he was thinking.

"No," he started, then paused, should her tell her about the two dead pride members? Zion and another lionesses had been killed in the battle, but should he tell her. He decided he would have to one way or anither. "When the rogues attacked..." He said again, pausing efore taking a breath, and looked down at his paws, "we lost two pride members. Zion and another lioness." He said, bringing his brown eyes to look into hers. He looked out towards the open savanah, then he looked back towards Imani, his tail swishing slightly.

Imani gasped, she was never close with Zion, but he seemed nice enough, one of the nicer pride members. Then something dawned on her, "Wait, the lioness, what was her name?"

"I don't know." He said, he litteraly didnt know, he had been with the Pride for three days. "I didnt learn her name in my three days." He said, seeing the genuine concern in Imanis eyes. "I'm sorry I can't tell you." He said, feeling bad he couldnt learn the name if the female who gave her life for the Pride. "But we better get going," he said, looking outside, "I dont want the rogues to find us, because that wouldn't be a good story." Then, just as he fibished those words, the ligjt from the den disappeared, and there stood four rogues, the ones from last night. "I told you we would meet again." The rogue said, looking back and forth from Zeus to Imani, "and we dont want the female." He said, casting a inferior look towards Imani. He then turned his gaze to Zeus. "We came for you."
