Lewis seemed surprised, how in the world did someone like him inspire someone like West? It was crazy and something you thought would only happen in books or something. Lewis was just a random background character in everyone else's story, he wasn't supposed to inspire people like West. "Oh, well thank you anyways. I'm not sure if I understand how I'd inspire you but I'm happy I was of some sort of help." Lewis awkwardly shifted, not knowing whether he should leave West alone or just leave in entirety before he embarrassed himself even more.

"Yeah," West said casually, "I have a few drawings of you. One of them was too messy, and the other was digital. That was the drawing that looked good. You don't normally come to this coffee shop - huh? I'm here every day, and have only seen you a few times recently." West looked at his computer and found the file of the digital drawing, and turned it around to show it to his stranger, all while talking. "There is more than what is on the surface. I have enjoyed figuring out your story."

Lewis looked mighty confused. West drew him? Wow. That was..that was crazy and really, really surprising. He didn't have the best social skills himself but he was pretty sure this wasn't something that normally happened. "Yea, I don't normally come here. It was kind of supposed to be a one time thing but it turns out that the coffee is really good here. And um, I don't really have much of a story. I'm really boring actually. Not much to figure out." Lewis turned a soft pink as he looked at the drawing. Somehow, West had made him look good which was practically impossible with such a normal, boring face.

"Nah. You are kinda short on money, always got the cheaper end stuff. I paid for you drink that one time, by the way, you seemed like you needed it. Something has also happened recently that's been hard for you, making you try to find solace in a drink. You love reading, which is great." West closed his laptop, "Oh, my name is West, by the way. I've been calling you Stranger in my head for a long time - It would be nice to know your name."

Lewis looked surprised, West had actually figured him out. Well, there wasn't much to figure out, but still. The fact that someone had so easily figured him out wasn't too great, he was just that boring. Then West asked for his name and said his own name, which made Lewis turn a deeper pink. "Oh um, yes I know your name. You signed the drawing you made of me, and I sort of recognized you from my book. I'm Lewis, and you just figured me out. Thank you for paying for my drink by the way, I appreciate it." Lewis smiled awkwardly, pushing up his glasses, a nervous habit of his.

Now it was Lewis's turn to surprise West. Even though his books were really well known, it was still surprising to find that people actually read them. Even after a year of this, it still made him happy, and probably always would. "Oh," was all he could really say, a smile playing at his lips, "You've read a book of mine?" He didn't say it in a conceited way, but with the tone of someone who was genuinely surprised. "And the drink was no problem. Drawing you helped get me out of my..." West trailed off. He didn't tell many people how difficult it was for him to write the sequel for The Tales of Westley. He had to get it out, but that just wasn't what he wanted to write. A lot of the fan base was built because of that book, though, so he had to write it.

Lewis' dark brown eyes finally looked off the floor. Slowly nodding, now books were something he could talk about without sounding like an idiot. It was just a talent of his. "Yes I've read your books. I'm a librarian so I kinda read all the new books that come in. Finish them quickly then put them back. They are all wonderful books by the way." Lewis gave a tiny smile, still very much awkward but a bit happier and a little braver. "And Im glad that in some tiny way I helped you." Lewis shuffled his feet a little, pulling on the hem of his shirt. Edited at June 22, 2019 04:40 PM by Soaring Free

"Oh?" West's tone conveyed his surprise, and happiness, "You've read multiple of them?" Sure, there were people out there who liked his other books, but it wasn't common he ran into them. It was a fresh change of pace from fan-folks who badgered him for when the sequel was coming out.

Lewis nodded, he read all the books he could get his hands on. It was just how he was. "Yea, only 3 though. I haven't been able to find your first one though. All the librarians I contact say they never got it. So whenever I have the chance I find whichever book of yours that's I can." Lewis was the type of person where he likes specific authors and their type of writing. He didn't just like their one series, he liked all their books. So he did all in his power to find the author's books.

"Yeah," West nodded, "I didn't have a whole lot of backing before Tales came out, especially with the first book, so there were very few copies made. I could give you one, if you wanted. I always keep the first few copies made." West gestured towards his normal table, "Wanna sit?"
