"Yeah, go ahead just don't take too long," I said with another yawn. Once he got up I groan a little annoyed that my source of heat was gone.

I got up and chuckled at her tired groan. Forest and I walked outside. If I was being honest I was also tired, but Nightmare clearly was more tired. I laughed wondering how she was that worn out.

"Im sorry to bother you Zier and if there was anyone eles i could talk i would but your the only one....Well i guess Azul but hes not as strong as you...." I began to overthink things as tears formed in my eyes. I then blurted out, "What if the humans kill or take my babbies for missions?! Please Zier, theres has to be something to protect them! Weather that be you or something or someone eles i really need your help!" A tear fell down my face as i begged Zier with my eyes. I was surprized Azul didnt come out but was a bit glad. It was between me and Zier.

When she started crying I didn't exactly know what to do. There were boundaries between males and who they let comfort their mates, the only exception is normally the alpha or other females.

"Look," I said taking a breath and sighing "They will probably be sold as pets to the rich since they are the first to be born and raised in an enclosure by a mother. Meaning they will be safe for the most part," i was avoiding bringing up the fighting rings and dreaded she wouldn't ask about the most part. "There can be complications like accidents either it's us or the humans. something can always happen during transport, then they could always end up injuring themselves somehow. Overall, when new 'experiments like this happen, they don't want to get rid of them. They like to keep them close and monitor them." I said trying to reassure her without passing through boundaries.

"But Zier, you dont understand, to me they arent just experiments! I will do anything in my power to keep them safe but you and i both know i dont know much about the humans and their stupid ways! They use us for their weapons and practically murder us! Zier i dont know much about you but i know you would do anything to protect Nightmare, thats for sure. Imagine she was going to be killed or tooken on another mission and you couldnt do anything about it! You would ask for help wouldnt you?! I know you cant be that stuck up right?! Besides i dont want them to go to other humans that can treat them however they want! I wouldnt even have a chance at protecting them like i do here! Please Zier! Isnt there something you can do?! Im not trying to seem like a weak baby but wouldnt you feel helpless is my feet?!" In my mind couldnt believe Zier was being so nice and i honestly didnt want to ruin it but i wanted my babbies safe. It was also a bit embarrising to cry infront of this tough male but right in that moment he kinda seemed....well....concerned.

"Look, I'm not the one who vowed to you, the one who vowed to you was Azul. Stepping boundaries by taking another male's task of something he vowed to his mate can cause issues. I'm not the one you should be talking to right now, I risk overstepping my own vows I made for Nightmare currently. If you haven't noticed she takes vows very seriously, as do I." I said "Ask Azul, then approach both me and Nightmare if he agrees to it, otherwise, I can't get involved." I said heading back to Nightmare and making sure she is comfortable.

"What happened?" She whispered to me as I went back to the position we were in. I felt her stomach vibrate as she spoke.

"Let's just say I don't know how to comfort a distressed female that isn't my own," I said nuzzling her "She is worried what might happen to the eggs even though they aren't her own blood," I said confused "I don't understand it,"

"Well, some females have a strong maternal instinct and will claim anything as theirs just to have a child. Some will even steal the young of others and force them into being their child. In the wild, some females will steal each-others eggs even." she said and I sort of understood.

I closed my eyes, I was just comforted by the fact that Nightmare was my mate. That she would be the one to produce the eggs, hatch them, and raise them with me. I couldn't have asked for something more. If she ever had to go on a mission again, it wouldn't be until our entire pack was adults, but I would go with her. Also, who's to say the children wouldn't let their mother go without them? My thoughts raced until Nightmare put her head on top of mine. My worry went away and I started to drift to sleep, I felt our breathing start to match up. We were both falling asleep at the same time, I loved it.

I wanted to yell at him but i knew better than that. I definitely didn't want to start a war between me and my friend again. So instead i just gritted my teeth and a watched him go. When he went back into the cave i plopped down and cryed. It wasnt fair, why couldn't i have picked a stronger mate....

I was quite confused when forest didn't come back in with Zier. I didn't bother to ask though because the two were clearly tired. I got up and went outside to see Forest crying.....again. Jeez females are emotional. Nevertheless i sat beside her and nuzzled her. " Whats wrong? Did Zier hurt you?" She laughed at that and i was quite confused. She finally shook her head no. I doubt Zier would hurt her but its not bad to ask. " Whats wrong then?" "What if the humans kill our young?! Or make them go on missions?!" She said, now crying again. I was hesitant to answer but i eventually did by saying, "They arent really ours Forest....Besides humans do whatever they please. We have no control on what they do." She paused for a moment before speaking, "Azul, you said you would protect me and the eggs. If you truly want to protect me you have to help me. Please let me get Nightmare's and Ziers help. Please Azul!"

I sat stunned. Was she really using my vow against me?! I wanted to get upset but one look at her calmed me down. I sighed before saying, "Fine....BUT we will talk more about this in the morning and once we have made a agreement we will then talk to Nightmare and Zier. She nuzzled me and i nuzzled her back before saying, "Now lets get some sleep. Its getting late. Besides the eggs need warmed by now anyway. " Soon me and forest were ontop the eggs. It was mu first real night of sleeping with her and i have to admit It was amazing. I protectively curled myself around her as our breathing matched up. Soon we both fell asleep and i was at peace.

I woke up to find Zier staring at me, he hadn't moved to prevent waking me up.

"Good morning love," He said and I nuzzled him

"Good morning Love," I replied. I got up and stretched, I was hungry again.

"want me to go hunt for some quick breakfast? I'm sure you will need the nutrients," He said with a gentle smile

"That would be lovely," I said before he nuzzled me and quickly went out. I was so grateful that he understood all the activity meant I needed a lot of food. Later the humans might even take me away from the others just to give me more of the food I need.

------------- Time Skip -------------

Zier came back with more food and we repeated the same process as yesterday. This time though, he wasn't as eager, he was more of making sure I was okay first. He didn't completely eat the food so I finished it off since I worked up an appetite.

"Hungry still?" He asked

"Not really, just trying to keep something on my stomach at all times you know," I said and he nodded, I backed up a bit and lay under a tree. We were up quite early, the sun had just finally gone over the Horizon. I watched it and so did Zier, he stayed standing, watching over me as he vowed, while I lay trying to get comfortable.

That's when I heard it the buzz of a drone and I saw Alpha walk over. Zier growled at first stepping between me and Alpha, but I clicked letting him know it was fine. Alpha stumbled back a bit after Zier had growled, Zier even glanced back at me before backing off a bit.

"Hello Nightmare, I forgot that you picked Zier as a mate when I first walked in. So I also forgot he has a bit of fire to him," He said stopping a distance from me, and I didn't understand why until I glanced at Zier and laughed. Zier was technically in between us just off the side, ready to step in. "By gosh you look out of it, I've never seen you look so drained," He said, and since it was so quiet I could hear tiny voices speaking back to him. "There is no way, it's only been two days," he said looking away and turning his back to Zier. There was more speaking from the earpiece, "That is fair though I don't know why I expected it to be different here," He said then turned around to find Zier nearly lurking over him making him step back farther. "Dear god I feel like I'm being challenged,"

"He is," Zier said and I laughed

"You are," a female voice said walking in and immediately I started to stand up. This caught Zier's attention and he directly stood between us. "Oop I didn't mean to startle them. But he is challenging you, He wants to be in charge of the pack so he can discipline his young how he wants. Along with other things, there are currently two human alphas that run the room. They probably don’t like that and think there should be only one, so he is doing something about it.”

“How do so show him I don’t want to challenge him and he can have the title?” Alpha asked

“Just now your head and look down Jack,” She said, I just learned his name and it felt forbidden. He then tilted his head down into submission and my eyes widened, Zier was my new alpha.

I heard some movement from Nightmare and Zier but it was way to early for me, besides Forest was still asleep anyways so i drifted back to sleep.

When i woke up again the sun has just rose. I smelled the smell of food and was off, though i was careful not to wake Forest. I made my way toward the food but stopped when i saw two humans and Nightmare and Zier. I stood there, astonished that a human bowed his head to a raptor. Just then it hit me! I could try to do the same thing with my human and Forest would be happy again! .....But i dont want to challenge my alpha...... I shook my head and countinued on to the food. It was a carcass the humans left for us. I quickly ate my fill before grabbing a big chunk to bring Forest. After doing so i went back to the cave and found her awake. "Good morning dear." I said as i put the food down infront of her. She giggled before saying "Goodmoring Azul." She then ate the food and sat back in her nest. I joined her and began to talk.

"I have a solution for our problem. Then we wont even need Zier! I want to prove i can provide for you, so promise me if i do the plan you cant go to Zier for help anymore." She frowned a bit before speaking, "What is this plan?" "Well," I answered, "I will challenge my alpha. If she give up then we can raise the eggs our way and they wont leave us unless its their choosing." She got excited as she spoke, "I didnt even know you could do that!! But more importantly, you would do it for me?" I nodded, "I honestly didnt think about it but its a good idea." I wasnt going to metion i got the idea from Zier though, that would send a mixed message.

She nodded excitedly, "Alright, this is amazing! When will you do it?" "When my- the human comes to check on the eggs." I could tell she was excited and probably wanted to go tell Nightmare but instead she just nuzzled me. I was glad i could make her happy and not have to worry but now my mind was filled with worry. I loved my alpha and i dont want to challenge her. Atleast i dont have to hurt her i though i reminded myself as i closed my eyes and layed down. She then layed down with me and wispered, "I promise i wont go to Zier anymore if you suceed."

We walked back and heard a small part of the conversation.

"If he succeeds that will cause issues because by nature there should only be one alpha," Zier said with a hiss. It sounded extremely close to a growl, he was warning them. If they didn't figure this out I would move my nest, I didn't want to endanger my young because two males in the same enclosure are battling for dominance. I slowly stepped back a bit, distancing myself from them. Zier clearly felt challenged, and not in a respectful way. The fact Azul even suggested it is disrespectful, I was starting to dislike the two for some reason.

I jolted up when i heard Zier hiss. "Im not challenging you Zier! Only my human alpha so she and the others will leave my eggs alone!" I then stood up infront of Forest, making sure she would be somewhat safe. I didnt want to fight Zier but if thats the way he wanted.... "You are not my alpha. You have not challenged my alpha. As of now you are only Nightmare's alpha, and well maybe Forest's alpha. But if you want to challenge my alpha go ahead. I dont want to be alpha of this pack i just want Forest and our young to be safe and happy." I could tell Forest was upset but i stood my ground. I even heard her whisper, "Azul, it's not worth it. Please stop." But i didn't and just stood infront of her.
