Jason led Doc to the room the girl was in, then stepped aside to let her do what she needed. His abilities, unwanted abilities, had picked up the honest and sincere meaning in her mind.
Ribs smoothed the ginger hair back, and looked up to see the doctor. "I think her name is Aloe..." he voiced. The word caused a reaction with the child, making her twitch under her eye.

Katie seemed rather surprised that Jason led her to Addilyn's room. The curiosity left as soon as she saw that Addilyn was in the room too. So she knew these guys, good. Otherwise Kaitlyn would've had to kill them. Giving Addilyn a nod of hello, and realizing that Addilyn wasn't in a good mood, Kaitlyn finally settled on the child. Taking in everything she could see on the surface. "Aloe, hmm, haven't seen her around either. No idea what a kid this young is doing here. Unless.. probably not. Okay, get out of the way and let me do my job please." Tying back her rainbow hair, she walked over to the bed and began her examination.

Ribs, not hovering as to annoy the doctor, stayed near in case she needed anything. Jason stood back near Addi, gently holding her hand. His thumb massaged the back of her hand, and kissed her hair lightly. "Love you."

AddilynAddilyn replied with ease, "I love you too." She meant it. With every piece of her soul she meant it. Scooting a bit closer to Jason, not enough for her to touch him but close enough to where the painful throb of her heart dissolved almost completely. Of course the pain had always been there, ever since Jason had been taken from her. It was lessened only slightly now that Jason was back. Even then, she couldn't seem to get close enough for it to completely stop the pain. It was as if she was forcing herself to believe that it might happen again. Kaitlyn seemed worried, really worried. She kept making sounds of slight distress.

Ribs got a cool washcloth and dabbed it lightly where beads of sweat were on the child's forehead. "I will help in whatever way I can." He promised.
"So will I."
Jason turned to see the thing that was Rainbow. Of course. The pants were way to large and held around their waist because of the strings in the pants, and the shirt was a dress. Pink hair was wet and clung to their forehead. Jason knew that Rainbow hated wearing tight clothes, as they preferred the gender nutral look. But, Rainbow was Rainbow, and loved every bright color. This month it was pink. Last month it was blue.

Addilyn didn't say much of anything though Kaitlyn knew she would help with supplies and the like. Of course Addi wasn't one for healing, the poor child just couldn't grasp the concept of healing. Looking up to see the new person, Kaitlyn acknowledged them with a quick nod before feeling the child's spine once again. In all honesty, Katie believed that the spine itself had been broken or fractured in some way. She shook her head a bit, a strand of rainbow hair slipping out of the rubber band. "There isn't much anyone can do. I think her spine is broken, which can mean.. well death or paralysis. There's really nothing I can do. If she wakes then she will undoubtably be paralyzed in some way. If she's lucky, it should be partial to where only one half of her body is immobile but it won't be good either way. I was hoping for a different outcome but in all honesty, I don't even need to take an x-ray to tell." Despite the fact that Kaitlyn didn't know the child, she still felt despair at her own diagnosis.

Rainbow looked even more upset than the new lady. "Sorry..." they whispered to themselves, too lightly for anyone to here. They went over to the bed, and looked at the lady. "Could her spine heal? I know she'd be paralyzed, but would it be so we wouldn't need to worry about jolting movements?" Rainbow spoke like there was no other option than paralysis. Death was not an optIon. It couldn't, and wouldn't, be.

Kaitlyn seemed to be thinking for a moment, trying to put it into words that the others would understand. "Eventually yes, for the first week or two, the spinal area will be swollen, as it is doing now. Obviously this is accompanied by horrible pain. Anyways, since her spinal cord is damaged, during this week or two period, she will have drastic changes in almost every body system. Eventually the swelling will go down and she will feel the pain less often. She may gain control of some of her body if she has an incomplete injury and can gain control a bit before or after 18 months." Kaitlyn didn't want to get anyone's hopes up but she did believe that this was in fact an incomplete one, meaning eventually the child would be able to regain a bit of her body.

Aloe heard people talking about her. They seemed to think she would die, or be very, well, useless. She knew it would be hard. Everything was always hard when you are an orphan. But this was harder. Her brain was there there, but not really there. Some thoughts were muddled. Some were floating on the edge. But she could hear. Surprise. Fear raced through her. She was afraid of death. Some could say they didn't fear it, but she thought that was crazy. Death was scary. A cold grip seemed to grab her. Small tears threatened to overwhelm her. In the place that was there there, she felt little beads of water trace down her cheeks. Could she? No. It wasn't. Aloe remembered that there was a state in a... coma. That's what... coma. Fear gripped her once more.
