Amara was grateful her packmates didnt seem to ask her where she was going since she didnt look at all like she was under stress. She glanced at the back seat of his car before she looked at Chandler. "I will pay for that" she said, biting her lip a bit out of nervousness. She still felt bad for accidentally tearing into it when she didnt have too much control over herself. Her cheeks turned red when he said "date" and she wasnt sure why. Neither of them said it was going to be a date, but they also never said it wouldnt. "I only ask since, well, if we do accept being mates, it's more logical for you to come here" she told him before she buckled her seat belt. "It might take time, but after you saved me, I dont think that will be too much of an issue. If they decide they want to retaliate against you, they have me to deal with."

He yawned and looked down at her, and then the backseat, and then to her again. "Naw, don't sweat it. I have people for that." He walked over to the passenger door and opened it for her and then when she got in, closed it. Getting in the driver's side he readjusted everything. Her packmate changed everything when he drove last night. Looking in the passenger mirror he saw her turn a little red. "Don't tell me now your flustered?" He laughed and rolled the windows down. "After I held you in my arms, bring to the car, tend to your wounds while your on my lap; nothing. But as soon as I say date, that's what gets you." He teased her as they backed out into the road. He shrugged, knowing which way town was but not the diner. "If they TRY to retaliate against me, then I'll give them the reason they're looking for to be afraid of me." At the red light he took out his phone and pulled up Google maps. "Would you be a doll and put the name of the place in the search engine." Edited at May 29, 2022 10:56 AM by AppleBottomJeans

Amara glanced at Chandler. "I still owe you for it" she replied. She was grateful he opened the door for her, and even closed it when she got in and gave him a nod as a thanks. She buckled rather quickly before glanced over at him. Amara bit her lip a bit. "I mean, neither of us really mentioned this was going to be a date" she replied as she looked forward again. "Tending to my wounds while I am weak is far different than going on a date." She gave a small sigh. "That and I've never been on a date before." She knew that would sound rather silly, but she didnt have time for that, running the pack before she even had her wolf took a lot out of her. Amara looked at Chandler once more. Once she punched in the name, she clicked on it to start the navigation. "It wont take too long to get there. Maybe ten minutes" she told him.

Chandler stayed focused on the road. "I'm not accepting cash payment for it, because I have no use for it because I have people for it." He gave it a moment of thought. "If you can think of a payment that isn't money or anything to do with the actual vehicle, then I'll accept it." He smiled to himself, figuring he had stumped her out of paying him. With her hesitancy he couldn't help but glance over quickly from the road to her. He gripped the wheel tighter. "You need to be more selfish. Even with the circumstances you've placed every once of your attention on adults who are capable of functioning without you for a night." Giving a sigh he knew what had to be done. "I am going to show you a good first date." Again he glanced at her. "Text them you'll be taking the day off and then turn off your phone." He made a left turn. "Then, put thought in to what you want to do after lunch, you're gonna be selfish today." He smiled, also needing a day off from everything. Chandler kept looking over as she punched in the name. "Ten minutes? Alright. Pick a radio station and turn it up." He put one arm out the open window, with a button he opened the sky light; letting the sun spill into the car. Amara looked shocked when he mentioned that they would have a date, and that she should ignore the pack for the day. She seemed hesitant before she spoke. "I'll tell them we will be out and about, but I won't turn off my phone. I won't let them worry about me again like they did this past week." Once Amara sent out the text before she looked back at Chandler. "Why are you doing this" she asked. "The whole day, helping me be selfish." She was curious, though she wasn't sure if he would answer that. Once she picked a station on the radio she sat back before she took a deep breath. After being in the cellar of that creeps house and then in the hospital, the fresh air smelt better than ever.

Looking over he rolled his eyes and smirked. With the hand he held out the window he moved it like a five year old would. Letting the airflow move it up and then down. "Booo." He teased her. Removing his hand from outside he dramatically placed it with the back of his hand facing his forehead. "They have nothing to worry about. I'm your savior, nothing will get past me and touch even a hair on your head." He leaned back comfortably and put his hand back outside, amused with how unnecessarily worried she had become. And to think, when he had originally got their she likely wanted him dead. What a change of events. Chandler looked over to her briskly "Do I need a real reason?" He asked back the same way she asked him. They had almost gotten their now and he slowed to the speed limit to make the turn, with woods lining the roads on both sides it was hard to notice a turn without a sighn. He glanced over to her again, taking notice to how she finally relaxed just a bit. He could see what looked like the beginning of the turn down a road and a diner like establishment. The Google maps chimed over the radio. "Turn right here." And down the road into the parking lot they went. Edited at June 3, 2022 05:54 PM by AppleBottomJeans

Amara gave a small eye role. "Savior or not, they still dont trust you all the way, and on top of that, they just got me back from that creep" she said. "At least this way they can track me and see where I am and know I'm not in danger" she told him. She wasnt about to back down on her phone staying on. Perhaps when they have been together longer, and the pack sees him the way she does, they wouldnt care so much. Amara gave a small shrug. "I guess it would just be nice to know why you are helping me be more than just the Luna of the pack. Especially after what I said to you when you first got here" she said as she watched at the diner came into view. She wasnt quite sure what she wanted, but a French dip was starting to sound wonderful.

He gave an audible sigh, getting annoyed now. Chandlers grip on the wheel tightened, his knuckles turning white. "And I decked that creep in the face with a solid right hook. Their blatant hatred of me alone has zero grounds. Hell, when I first got here I may have gotten into a slight disagreement with on of them, and then she came to me asking for my assistance in getting her wolf under control." He looked over to her, not knowing if she was ever told that. "I have done nothing but played nice with them sense I've arrived." His voice raised in volume and got deeper in tone, showing his agitation. "To be frank it's making me want a give them a reason to hate me as much as they do." In the parking lot he opened the center consol and pulled out his wallet. Knowing damn well he wouldn't let her pay. Sticking it in his pocket Chandler looked back up at her and instead of looking away he stared directly in her eyes amd brushed the hair out of his. "You really want to know? Even after the way our first conversation ended with you upset and running off into the woods and me being pissed? Okay, fine." A dark smile came to his lips. He moved to where his elbows where resting on the center console, now he was close enough for his nose to almost touch hers. "Because I can." Chandler then leaned back and took they keys out of the car, unbuckled; and got out. Remembering what had happened. Mostly it was a blurr. He remembered her blue dress, some of the ceremony. And the waterfountain where he jumped on the cement blocks and then down again. But he still mostly just remembered how she looked in the blue dress with her hair done and sparkly shoes. Amara watched as Chandler grabbed his wallet and climbed out of the car when it was parked. She took a glance around the familiar diner, most of the wounds on her now healed thanks to her wolf. Her blue eyes looked back to Chandler as he spoke. She didnt want him to give the pack another reason to not like him. "I dont want them to hate you. I want them to like you, to eventually, possibly, seeing you as their Alpha" she said as she looked down at her hands. Amara seemed a little surprised by his answer. It didnt make sense to her. She had been cruel to him, yet, he hadnt tried to do the same. He had helped find her, heal her, and now have breakfast with her. It was strange. Nobody in her pack had ever shown her kindness like this. In fact, most seemed to pitty her for losing her parents and becoming Luna when she did. Very few were by her side when she needed it. Sure, she had had her beta, but that wasnt enough. Little did Amara know, she had needed a friend, and something, with Chandler made her feel like she had one. "Thank you" she said. It was really the only thing she could say. She was grateful, but she couldnt put it into words.

At her sweet voice he hung his head. The way her words sounded pure and innocent and like honey. The people he normally spoke with sounded like venom, hatred, and always seemed like they had other more personal motivations. "If I am to be their alpha at your side, they need to trust me blindly. Never question me, no matter how bold and rash they think my moves are. Consider this a test for them. Or at the least put your phone on mute and in the glove box." Now he just wanted to get his way. He did care if she trusted him, but he also hated to be told no. Alphas don't get told no. If she persists again on keeping it you should drop it. Menadite sounded agitated at Chandler for not bending to her will. I don't know why your on her side wolf, but fine. . To his awnser he couldn't help but notice her reaction. Surprised yes, but not upset and actually rather... pleased. Like it comforted her he didn't really have a reason to help her care about her. He walked around to the other side of the car and opened her door. He held out a hand for her for her take. Her thank you left a pink hue to his cheeks and he quickly looked down. Hoping she hadn't seen it. "Don't thank me for helping you be selfish, that's redundant." He chuckled a bit. Even when trying to care about just her, she can't help but be so sweet.
