Haywood also left Magdalene, and walked over to where Northcliff was. He tried to catch the other quartermaster's eye, exchanging a look that asked if his captain was also being a stubborn mule. Haywood just wanted for the two groups to get along while they all had to share the same small space. If they didn't work together smoothly, trouble could easily arise.

Northcliff has ran a frustrated hand hand through his hair when Haywood caught his eye. Searching the other quartermaster's expression, he merely nodded slightly, confirming the other man's suspicions. He released a heavy sigh, Carwen was a mighty fine leader, and took care of her crew without a second thought, but her pride often got in the way. Northcliff was almost positive that this journey would be well worth it, and wanted it to go well. Carwen's refusal to just get along with the other captain was not only annoying, but unnecessary. She was being difficult, and although normally he might've been able to pull her out of her head and show her that she was being unreasonable, but for whatever reason, Carwen was just being a pain. The crew felt Carwen's tension, and could tell that Northcliff was annoyed, well within reason of course, but their attitude would not change unless the captains did. As was the way of things, and despite their independence as pirates, as one community, they tended to reflect their captain.

Haywood simply quirked up an eyebrow and gave a resigned shrug. He knew what the right course of action was, and Magdalene knew it as well, but the Captain was stubborn, and pushing might only make it worse. For the time being, Haywood would simply have to try his best to encourage the two crews to work together. Northcliff was a reasonable fellow, and saw how the captains' arguments were messing up the flow of the ship, so hopefully, he would make an effort alongside Haywood. With the two of them working together, they could mend some of the patches well enough until Magdalene and Carwen got their heads out of their asses.

If Northcliff could hear Haywood's thoughts, he would've shouted with joy. So rarely did people understand that teamwork was a very real, very important, aspect of being a pirate. Carwen being an absolute stubborn idiot would make the journey harder than it had to be. If the two pirate captains would only just grow up and be civil, well as civil as a pirate could get, which was decent enough, things would be much easier. Northcliff could only hope that his efforts to help ease the tension between the crews would go well and they wouldn't end up in a fight, which was the last thing he wanted. ~ Ts to actual sailing?)

okie-dokie-artichokie 000000 The motley crew had set of at a good clip the previous day. The wind was strong and in their favor, so the ship was making good time. Magdalene observed the busy deck from her perch in the crow's nest. It was obvious where the divide was, though, and the gap between the two crews. Northcliff and Haywood did their best to mend the gap - she had spotted the pair working near each other when it was possible - but it was not enough. Magdalene raised her gaze back to the horizon, scanning for threats. This stretch of sea was not known for any particular dangers, but it was better to be safe than sorry. With the steady pace that had been set the previous day of sailing, Magdalene guessed they were about half a day from the mouth of the river, if this speed continued.

I dunno how to respond but Imma do it anyways.) ~~~~~~ Carwen, although slightly concerned about the trip and the divide between the two crews, was alive with joy. It had been far too long since her last adventure, far too long since something genuinely exciting happened to her crew. Despite the crew's divide, her side seemed a bit happier, and less anxious. Carwen's strong happiness held influence over them, and they couldn't stop themselves from smiling when seeing the look on their captain's face. While Carwen steered the ship and discussed where the best winds were with a few of her crew, Northcliff was running about, helping wherever he possibly could. He was afraid that the divide between the crews would cause more tension than there already was. A divided crew was never a good crew, and could make for trouble.

Magdalene swung down from the crow's nest, and with long strides, walked over to the steering wheel, arms loose and swaying. Stopping off to the side of Carwen, Magdalene mimicked her stance, and stared at the horizon, "Truce?" she said bluntly, more of a statement than a question, "We will work together for as long as required. Make it easier on the crew."

Carwen looked up from her map, the conversation coming to a sudden pause as she stood up straight, though that hardly did anything when compared to Magdalene. Despite that, Carwen still held herself just as powerfully as she normally would, it had been a long time since she let height bother her. "I suppose so, 'would make things easier on everyone. Truce it is." Carwen merely shrugged, it didn't seem like too big of a deal now, but she knew her crew would rest easier if they weren't worried about Carwen accidentally losing her temper and murdering someone.
