Jason knelt down, and became eye level with Destan. His face softened more than anyone had ever seen it, save for Addilyn, "Yes, Destan. I never believed Jolon. I knew that when Addilyn got rid of him, an advisor would just step up, and repeat the torment of the innocent civilians. I didn't realize that the opportunity for me to get closer was possible before we were at the bridge, so I couldn't tell anyone my plan." Jason gently set Kit down on his knee, and helped the sickly familiar balance, "I would never betray you, Destan, or Addilyn, or Ribs. You guys have quickly become like family, and family is the strongest bond that there is." Jason looked down at Kit, and concern heavied his face, "This is Kit, Addilyn's familiar, He's getting worse. I'm not sure if he can help Addilyn, but he's at least want to be with her. Please, Destan, you don't have to let me in, I guess, but at least take Kit with you. He and Addilyn deserve to at least be with one another once again."

Destan stared at Jason as he spoke, and soon tears were slipping down his face in rapid succession. Amika stood away from them, but she was no longer so tense. She was a little wary yes, but for some reason she believed what Jason was saying. He looked almost...tired, and she could understand that. It was for that reason only that she didn't grab Destan and tell Jason to fuck off. Destan had cried the entire three days Jason was gone, the poor boy couldn't understand how the always strong Jason could have been manipulated by Jolon. So yes, Amika was mad at Jason, for causing Destan and Addilyn so much pain specifically, but she believed him. Destan didn't speak for a long moment, sniffling and crying. Finally, he put together the words that floated through his head. "You can never do that again okay? Never ever again. I-if you do I'll um, I'll..I'll punch you! Okay? Promise to not leave again and I'll bring you both inside. Promise." Destan's voice was filled with hope, but also an intense sadness. Jason couldn't leave them all again, he just couldn't. Amika had to smile at the threat. She was definitely rubbing off on him, not that that was a good thing. Kit balanced on Jason's knee with some difficulty. It would be easier if he could just sink his claws in but he was well aware that it would probably hurt Jason. So while Jason helped him, he distracted himself from his imminent demise by listening to the boy. He'd tried to talk to him, as he could commune with most witches, especially the weaker ones, but his mental barriers were impossibly strong. Granted, he had grown up with Jolon and that probably had something to do with it.

Jason scooped up Kit in one hand, and used the other to make an X over his heart, "I promise - I'll never, ever do this again... And I'll hold you to your statement about the punch." Jason held out his hand to Destan, "I am so sorry, Destan. I'd never want to cause you any more pain." Jason then smiled. It wasn't his normal, cocky smile - one with confidence and boldness. It was a tired, yet hopeful, and undeniably honest smile. It was small, but then again, there wasn't a whole lot to smile about.

Destan smiled a little through his tears, and gently grabbed Jason's large hand in his own fragile one. He had been through a lot, both of them had, and that was why Destan had trusted Jason so completely. Plus, Addilyn loved Jason, and as her little brother, how was Destan not supposed to? "Then we can go inside. Just be careful okay? Everyone is on edge, and nobody really likes you right now, but I'll protect you. So you'll be fine." Destan said this completely seriously, the boy didn't really know how to joke around like a child normally would. He waited patiently for Jason to stand and walked him over to Amika, still keeping a firm hold on Jason's hand. The woman took one look at Jason and Destan holding his hand, and turned on her heel and opened the hotel door, waiting patiently for them to get inside.

Jason gave Destan's hand a light squeeze, and hunched over slightly to make sure they kept holding hands as they walked, "Alright, Destan. Thank you." As they passed Amika, Jason gave her a small smile. They all had every right to be mad at him, and him showing up wasn't going to change that fact. They thought he had betrayed them. That sting didn't just go away. It would probably take a while for them to trust him again, if they ever did. Jason would understand if they kicked him out right after this.

Amika didn't smile back, but she didn't look particularly pissed either. Granted, Amika could hide her emotions as easily as Addilyn, but for once she was being indifferent about this situation. If Jason had done what he'd said he'd done, then he deserved to be treated like a hero more than anything. He'd betrayed them, but not truly, granted it had definitely felt like it when he'd first left. But she'd kept looking back on it, and realized it hadn't made any sense. She'd seen his love for Addilyn, the way they looked at each other as if they were the only two people in the world, as if they were each other's world. So, for that reason, Amika believed him, and if he was lying, she'd kill him for betraying her gang. As simple as that. Destan passed the front desk, the sketchy lobby guy had disappeared and he was thankful for that, as the man had given off creepy vibes. Destan led the way to the third floor, the place was nicer than most places, and even had an elevator which had made everything easier when moving Aloe upstairs. Amika and Destan remained silent in the elevator, and while Amika was always moving some part of her body, tapping her foot, bouncing her leg, Destan remained as still as a statue. The differences between the two were astounding, but somehow Amika had still taken him under her wing. The ding of the elevator woke Destan from his temporary stupor and he exited, tugging Jason along with him, Amika trailing behind silently. "You should take him straight to Addilyn's room, I doubt that anyone would be welcoming to him in the other rooms." Destan nodded in agreement to Amika's words, and brought Jason to the last door at the end of the hallway, knocking with a tiny hand. Kit had remained silent the whole way, though his coughs never let up and sometimes he hardly seemed solid. As if he was slipping into the other realm already, which should be impossible but considering how broken his bond with Addilyn was, it made sense. Kaitlyn was half asleep when the knock on the door startled her, she immediately said, "I'll get it," forgetting about her bloody hands, shirt, and exhausted face. She opened the door, not too wide as she didn't want it to be Amika or something and then the girl would probably freak out because magic. Instead, it was the person she had not really been expecting. "Jason?" Kaitlyn's eyes slid down to Kit, who stared at her expectantly, and Destan who was making the begging face he did when he wanted something. It took Kaitlyn a moment, and she definitely wasn't expecting Kit, but she slowly opened the door, a sad expression beginning to slip onto her face. Kaitlyn doubted anyone would want to see Addilyn's condition. She barely looked alive. Though the heart monitor, with it's slow and steady beating told otherwise. Her chest rose and fell faintly, and her skin was much to pale. Not to mention that she just looked...off. Which was because that this shell of Addilyn held no soul inside it. Jason would not catch a single string of thoughts from Addilyn's head, as she wasn't there at all.

Jason let go of Destan's hand and rushed to Addilyn's side. He gently set Kit down beside his mistress, and stroked the cat's head, "Here you go, Kit... We are here, buddy," he whispered, "We are here..." Jason crumpled to his knees, tears streamed down his face, "I'm sorry," he pleaded, "I should have never left you... I'm sorry, Addilyn, please..." He looked at her limp hand, pale as could be, so... still... so much unlike His Addilyn. He straightened up, until he was looking over the bed, although he was still on his knees. Jason covered her hand with his own, lighter and more delicate than one would have thought possible for him, "Addi... I don't know if you can hear me, but I love you. You've been my light in my darkest times - the beacon who guides me home.... because home is anywhere that you are." Jason knew he wasn't the prettiest picture, with being slightly charred in places, and bleeding from who-knows-where. That didn't matter. Everything fell away when he was with Addilyn, "Kit is here too, Addi," He said softly, "He's here too. He is the reason I was able to get here - he helped me all this time... and now we are here." Jason pressed his head against the mattress, tears dripping down harder now, "You can't just leave me, Addilyn.... You're supposed to yell at me for being an idiot and a jerk... and I always feel like you are going to leave, because I'm not enough... and I don't know why you stay, but I love you, with all of my heart. I feel like you'd push me away... when really I think, after all the yelling is done, we'd... just... be..." Jason adjusted his hold on Addilyn's hand to have her hand on top of his, palm to palm, "We'd be together, Addi, the love of my life... please... you can't go yet." Jason sounded so utterly broken, so lost, and his last words were barely even a sound, rasped out of the back of his throat through the sobs that tried to escape him.

Destan had begun to wail as soon as he saw his sister. Amika immediately picked up the little boy, trying to not see Addilyn but failing miserably and rushing away with the boy in her arms, tears in her eyes. Addilyn had looked dead, completely dead, and it had scared both Amika and Destan. Soon the two were back in one of the rooms. Sobbing quietly together as they did not quite know if Addilyn was actually alive, or if she would make it. Kit laid on his witch's stomach with careful movement, resting his head on her as tears slipped down his face. He tried, tried so hard to reach her, to speak with her with their fragile bond, and it did not work. His words hit the Void and slammed back into him, firmly keeping him away from his witch's soul. The slam caused him to cough and cough and cough, his paws clenching but his claws remaining tucked away. The familiar wanted nothing more than to sit here with his witch for the rest of eternity, with her awake and him just sitting against her. But she was not coming back, and he was fading quickly, even if she did return later, he would not be here, he'd be in the other place. Waiting for her to die so he could come back with her. Kaitlyn watched the scene unfold with her own sadness. She'd tried to pull Addilyn out of the Void, but the door between the two worlds was sealed tight, and Kaitlyn couldn't access Addilyn's limbo without help. Without a tiny opening. That's all she needed, the tiniest of openings, and she'd be able to return Addilyn to her own lifeless body. The constant beep of the heart monitor and the occasional cough from Kit were the only two things that ever interuppted Jason's heartfelt words. The emotion in them made Kaitlyn tear up, because if things were different the two would always love each other. Kaitlyn sighed, watching as the familiar and lover mourned over Addilyn's limo frame. That's when she felt it, the opening, the thing that she'd been waiting for. Kit immediately sat up, as the heart monitor's beeps began to quicken as Addilyn's heart began to race. Kaitlyn was suddenly there, gently pushing the familiar out of the way but with a sense of urgency. "You feel it too. The way she is responding to him, feeling him." Kit's voice broke into Kaitlyn's mind with ease, and Kaitlyn merely nodded at Kit. Her hand rested a breath away from Addilyn's chest and the other hand over her forehead. Kit watched as Kaitlyn worked, her eyes closed but glowing even through her skin. Kit didn't know quite how powerful Kaitlyn was but she seemed to know what she was doing, granted she was super old and should have died several times over. Regardless, Kit could feel his witch's soul returning, her heart began to pound, and the heart monitor beeped a long warning, as Addilyn's heart rate was rising at an alarming rate. Kit could only hope that this meant Kaitlyn was doing her job. It was a short eternity when Kaitlyn's eyes snapped open, exhaustion coating her expression as she fell back into a chair. Kit watched his witch expectantly, stepping off her stomach and onto the actual bed. It took another long eternity as Kit stared at Addilyn, waiting for her eyes to open to reveal her soul inside her body again. It was another moment when Addilyn finally opened her eyes, blinking rapidly at the harsh light above her. The heart monitor had calmed down, and now she seemed as if she was waking up from a long sleep. "Addilyn?" Kit came into her field of vision, and his tail flicked back and forth. "Where the hell are we- oh my gods." Addilyn sat up, which was probably a really bad idea as her entire body screamed in outrage, pain surging through her limbs. She took in everyone in the room, felt the exhaustion from Kaitlyn, the pain in Kit, and Jason's sadness. That's when it truly hit her, all the memories, the terror, the pain, and Addilyn began to cry. Her eyes filling with tears and her mind flaring with pain. She was a monster.

As the heart monitor began to beep and change, Jason's head shot up, although he didn't let go of her hand. He didn't ever want to let go of her hand. He watched, along with Kit, as Kaitlyn worked her magic, and finally, fell back, her part complete. Now, it was up to Addilyn. As she blinked awake, Jason tried to keep himself from tensing up. When Addilyn jolted up and looked around, Jason's worry about what she would say to him flew out the window. There was something a lot more serious going on here, "Addilyn," He murmured softly, her thoughts hitting him like bullets, "You did it - you are safe. You will be okay." Gently, he wrapped his hand around hers, loose enough that she could pull away, "You are wonderful, kind, and amazing, Addilyn. Okay?"

The tears would not stop falling, her body shaking with the force of the memories. She was Lilith, ruthless murderer that her own mother used to scare her with. If you didn't listen, if you used your powers to much, if you worked against the coven, Lilith would come and set you on fire. Seriously, it was an actual threat in the witch world. Some witches even claimed that they would bring her back to seek vengeance on those who'd wronged them. Little did they know that Addilyn was Lilith. The thoughts made her shake harder as the memories tumbled in. Mass destruction had been her favorite thing to do when she'd worked for Jolon. Sometimes she was related to him, sometimes he loved her as more than a friend in the lives where they weren't related. But he never let her have those memories back. And it all led to a single moment. When Jason killed her. It was a long time ago, but with her dying breaths she'd heard Jolon swear to protect her from Jason for the rest of her lives. Somehow, that included taking away all her memories, and making her bend to his will in each and every life. Using her powerful ties with nature to kill thousands upon thousands. A wail of anguish ripped through the air as tears raced down Addilyn's cheeks. It took her a long moment to realize that it was Jason trying to comfort her, and after staring at his hand on her's, she tore her hand away muscles screaming in protest at the quick movement. When she spoke, her voice was unsteady, terrified even. "W-why are you here? You were gone, you left us, and I am none of the things you listed. I am a monster. You were right to leave, and you should leave now too, you deserve much more than me and-and." Addilyn didn't know what else to say, she was blabbering on and on, and the tears did not stop. Especially now that her shattered arm was really starting to hurt and her memories came at her in a raging storm.
