Nightmare's Pov - 1st Person

"So nice to see you again," He said still with a flirty tone, but he didn't hold his head high, just level. "I didn't think the next time I saw you would be here in the pairing cells. I didn't think you would be mature enough for it after watching you play with that wild female in the mud. Then again you got every single military raptor there to join in." He said tilting his head with curiosity but still having cockiness in his tone

"It was a tragic but successful mission, I didn't want the dark thoughts of losing my pack to overcome me," I said being straightforward, "Plus, I am to become a mother, sit on eggs, and spend a great time of my days teaching them how to be mature. I wanted to get my immature playful energy out first, along with helping my new pack member become less tense." I said defending myself and her.

"Now that you put it like that, it actually makes sense," He said "I heard the conversation between the humans since I was sitting right outside the door waiting for my turn. I thought they couldn't have been talking about you, but now that you explain yourself. I realized that you think far enough ahead to allow you to do what you do, and allow you to hold your head so high. I respect you for that, and that is why I'm keeping my head level." He paused he clearly wasn't trying to compliment me but wasn't trying to be rude either. "I hold my head level because I see you as more of an equal, maybe not in the same areas, but I see you as an equal." This made my expression change and I Made my head more level and not so high.

"You are the first to actually think of me as more than someone to possibly mate with and raise your future young. I respect you for respecting me," I said

"I'm not saying I'm not dominant and I'm not saying I won't be, what I'm saying is that I respect you and understand you are the one in control here. You are the one in control of the entire thing, you are even the one who decides who stays and goes for your pack mate," He said calmly, I didn't know what to say I stood silent for a bit

"I don't know what to say, I didn't expect to hear this from anyone," I said being honest and looking him dead in the eyes.

"I don't have a pack, so I would be constantly in your enclosure with you, helping raise the young." He said, this was the part where he would convince me to choose him, but I already made up my mind before he started. "If there was any danger in the facility I would stand and protect you similar to males in the wild would. I would help provide for you and the clutch while you are stuck sitting on the nest. If you need to get up and stretch your legs, I will guard the eggs with my life." He spoke with passion "One of the reasons the humans say I miss behave and I have a bad temper, is because I have more wild raptor DNA in me than the accident raptor DNA and the first generation of trained raptor DNA. Meaning my instincts are stronger, and I don't let things slide.” He said and I looked at the humans. They opened the screen separating us, allowing us to see each other face-to-face without a barrier.

We stared at eachother for moments more before i spoke up again. "Alright, your right, i have no idea what im doing....Nightmare told be to hold my head high and to be the alpha but i dont see the use. Yes your suposed to defend yourself but I-." I lowered my head to be level, as i he spoke. "I understand your confusion, i really do. This is how its sposed to work. To find a good mate you have to make sure they respect you and after that the male will try to convince you to choose him and soon the humans will let you see the male you choose face to face. I nodded before speaking up, "Well, do you respect me?" He blushed before nodding. "I honestly think your amazing. I first saw you playing with Nightmare outside yesterday from my cage." I blushed before trying my best to nuzzle him from the screen. He tryed his best to nuzzle me and said, "I will protect you and your eggs, help you when you need help and love you forever." I closed my eyes and smiled before i had to move my head back because the humans removed the screen.

He stepped forward towering over me... but keeping his head level still.

"I know our first interaction wasn't the greatest, you impressed me yesterday. I was just sore that a small female challenged my authority." He said putting his head to mine, I kept my face and didn't stutter or blush, even though my brain was melting.

"I was the smallest in a pack of eight, made up of my siblings, it's natural for me to basically challenge everyone," I said joking

"What is the next part of this?" He asked "I've never been through it"

"Next you will meet with both me and my pack member Forest in a similar but larger enclosure. The only thing that you need to do to pass is to not fight with her in any way. After that you will get thrown into our extremely large enclosure," I joked "Meaning you have to locate the den and figure it all out on your own,"

"Oh, so does this mean I passed the hard part," He said looking me in the eyes with a bit of a flirtatious grin.

"Basically yes, if I don't find interest in anyone else that is," I said now teasing him

"Oh, I find it hard to believe anyone will come close to me," He said in a quiet but seductive tone; standing right next to me getting right in my ear. I lost my composure for a second and a light blush appeared on my face. This gave him a sly grin and I whacked him with my tail catching him off guard. You could hear everyone laughing, then it was my turn to grin at him.

"I will get you back," he said in a firm but teasing tone, stepping back over to the gate. They let him out and apparently that was enough because they came and got me, heading to Forest's room.

After the gait opened i looked at Azul, not quite believing that he was now my mate. "So what do we do now?" I asked as Azul came closer and nuzzled me. "I honestly dont know," Azul laughed. "Ive never gotten this far. Most females think im weird for some reason. Probably because im not all over them like most males are." I laughed beut instantly jumped as i heard a gate open. He stopped too and looked towards the gate.

"Hello," I said carrying out the o, "I've come to save you," I said playfully. "You guys look so awkward right now," I admitted to the elephant in the room.

I was so happy to see Nightmare i practically flew to the moon but for some odd reason i couldnt move. I just kept awkwardly looking at Azul and back to Nightmare even though she made a joke that i wouldve normally laughed at. I then blushed as Nightmare pointed out the obvious. Azul on the otherhand just roled his eyes and walked up to her. "Hey Nightmare. I was told you gave this poor soul mate finding advice," Azul joked. I then walked up to them, very confused. "Do you guys like know eachother or something?"

"Long story short, since I isolated myself from my pack most of the time they tried to get me to interact with other packs. Azul here happened to be the only one I got along with. When we were younger and before we started getting sent out on missions he and I would hang out. But that got cut off once we both started getting thrown into missions." I did my best to sum it up "But, I tried to give her a little pep talk but it was cut short when we got to her door." I said. "By the way, Forest, I think your teasing pulled off," I said shifting my balance to a more comfortable stance. Saying that in general made me nervous but in a good way, getting butterflies.

"Well atleast you guys will get along," I said with a smile but in the back of my head i was very much worried about meeting Nightmare's mate. I then turned my attention back to Nightmare as she talked. At first i was confused but then realized what she was talking about. A big smile/smirk spread across my face as i spoke, "Told you. You guys were meant to be! And i knew my teasing would help all along." Meanwhile Azul stood there confused. I then nuzzled Nightmare with a smile and whispered, "Im glad everything worked out." In the back of my mind though was a different story. I wanted Nightmare to be happy but i was honestly a bit scared of the male.

"It's fine, he has dominant instincts and we got off on the wrong foot at first. I will explain it to you more while we wait to go to the next room" I said nuzzling her back. "No promises you two will get along though, he was the only one that I actually got along with believe it or not," I said stepping back

I nodded as Nightmare spoke. "I dont need to understand it, i just want you to be happy," i said atlast with a smile. Azul then came up to me and stood by my side and asked Nightmare, "So what will happen next?" I then looked at Nightmare, curious about the answer as well.
