Name:
Fletcher Wade Callaghan
Nicknames:
Although he is sometimes called "Fletch" by those who know him in the small ranching town in which he lives, he isn't really close enough to anyone to receive nicknames on a regular basis. He's also a more serious, stoic guy, so sometimes others find him to be a bit too intimidating to nickname.
Age:
Mid- to Late-Twenties
Gender:
Male
Appearance:

Fletcher has a rugged, outdoorsy look with sun-kissed skin from working on the ranch. His pale bluish-grayish-green eyes hold a mix of curiosity, determination, and mystery. He has a strong jawline, rough hands, and a toned physique from years of physical labor. His brown hair is often tousled, and his general countenance points toward his shy, angsty demeanor. He prefers comfortable, practical attire, often donning a worn-in denim jacket over a plain tee, sturdy jeans, and worn leather boots that have seen their fair share of rough terrain. A simple pendant hangs around his neck, and he wears a leather bracelet with a silver nameplate on his left hand. The pendant was a gift from the man who raised him, Remy, and he was found with the bracelet as a child. Interestingly enough, the nameplate is empty.

Clothing Style:
As previously discussed, Fletcher doesn't really dress for anything other than practicality. Because he spends his days working on the ranch or competing in local rodeos and riding events, he primarily wears clothing that is plain, durable, and adaptable since his tasks vary.
Other:
Fletcher carries the aroma of fresh hay and a hint of cedarwood and pine from working with wood on the ranch. He smells earthy and homey.
Personality:
Fletcher is a soft-natured and brooding young man as a result of spending the majority of his time alone on the ranch. He's never shown much interest in girls, though he's been close with several as he's grown up. He's very protective and loyal of those he cares about, and he holds himself to a high moral standard. In his free time, he enjoys being in nature and spending time tinkering around the farm. He has very good survival instincts and a lot of knowledge as a result of being taught so many different things by his adoptive father, who has been more of a mentor to him than anything. There is nothing that Fletcher doesn't take seriously, though he is prone to internalizing things, getting stuck in his mind, and not fighting for what he deserves or needs.
Personality Measures:
5w4 451 sp/sx IXTJ-T
Social Dynamics:

Because of the vast amounts of time Fletcher has spent alone, especially since the recent passing of his adoptive father, it is hard to say what kind of individual would pair best with this young man. He has a tendency to push people away in whatever fashion he can as a result of feeling rejected and abandoned by so many individuals. It is likely that someone who is self-aware, extroverted, and persistent would be a good fit for him as it is quite unlikely that he would make any kind of move toward social interaction of any kind beyond going to the bar each night to drink. He is a bit set in his ways, so someone who is vastly different than him could be quite useful.

Backstory:
Fletcher was found as a child wandering around a town called Silver Creek, where he still lives today. The old man who found him, Remy, ended up taking him in and formally adopting him after being cleared by the authorities when no one claimed the little boy. Because Remy needed vast amounts of help on his farm, Fletcher grew up with little emphasis on education and spent every moment he could learning how to work the farm, train horses, and rodeo. The old man taught him everything he could about life until he passed away recently from sickness. Since then, Fletcher has stopped taking in clients for boarding and training, he hasn't competed to bring in the necessary extra funds for the ranch, and hasn't made much of a move to do anything other than hemorrhage money.

Name:
Juliette Rosalind Kenton
Nickname:
While most simply call her Juliette, those she becomes close with have the pleasure of calling her Jules. Occasionally she'll also have a few call her Julie, but it's no where near as frequent as the other.
Age:
Mid twenties
Gender:
Female
Appearance:
Juliette has the sleek, elegant look of a runway model, which is likely because she is one. Her warm hazel eyes scream confidence and assertiveness. She has strong features that still manage to have a delicate, feminine look to them with high cheek bones, a slender, button nose, and plump, rosey lips. Her lashes are long, giving her a doe-eyed look. Her body is perfectly slim, almost too slim, with an hourglass figure that she worked hard to achieve. Her milky, pale skin is soft and nearly flawless, with the only distinguishing mark being a dark beauty mark on the outer corner of her left eye. Her long auburn hair typically has a soft curl to it, adding to her effortlessly graceful look. Juliette is a big fashionista, her body always adorning expensive, gorgeous clothing. Her go to is usually white skinny jeans with silky tank tops, with her favorite color being an emerald green. Her choice of shoes can be pretty questionable for most, seeing as it's typically stilettos that look uncomfortable. Her jewelry varies, but one piece she always seems to wear is a silver locket around her neck.

Clothing Style:
As to be expected of a model, Juliette wears clothing that is up to date with societies standards. Her style is anything but plain, at least to the open eye. Behind closed doors, she can be convinced to take it down a notch and appear more relaxed.
Other:
Juliette carries a sweet scent with her at all times. The thanks for that could be given to her shampoo and perfume, which both smell of warm vanilla and fresh honey.
Personality:
On the outside, Juliette comes off as confident, outgoing, and strong willed. She has a natural tendency to attract the attention of others, not that she minds. Ever since she's been in the spotlight, Juliette has had plenty of suitors lining up for a date, some of which she obliged. However, she hasn't found the one that quite clicked with her. Juliette longs for someone who understands who she is on a deeper level. The person who wants her for her personality, not her looks or fame. She has a deep rooted sense of anxiety and fear that she'll never be enough. She tries not to let it stop her by putting herself out there and being the friendliest, outgoing person she can be. She's truthfully very caring and loyal, you only have to break down her walls and gain her trust.
Social Dynamic:
One would think that the best pairing for Juliette would be someone just as confident and outgoing as herself, but truthfully she needs someone to bring her down to earth. Someone who is a simple, patient, stubborn individual would likely be a good match, but it's hard to say for sure since those Shes typically around are all about being a power couple.
Backstory:
Juliette grew up in the city in a rundown apartment. Her parents fought day in and day out, never giving their only child the time of day. She spent her teenage years working odd jobs while trying to stay on top of her schoolwork. She met her lucky break when a photography company took interest in the shy, young girl that she used to be. From there she worked every day to stay within the standards of beauty and take every opportunity to rise. She'd long cut contact with her own family since her mothers passing. She'd have occasional contact with her father, but it was only when he needed money. Juliette has no one but herself to thank for where she is today, which is something she'll never take for granted.

“What can I do ya for, Fletch?”

The younger man studied the bar owner, who also happened to be the bartender almost every night. In a town like Silver Creek, it was ironically difficult to find an individual willing to tend a bar. Most of the individuals who needed employment only needed enough money to make it to the next rodeo, so it was difficult to find long-term help. The only other people willing to work were the teens in the town, who often didn’t have transportation and certainly weren’t old enough to be working at Lucky’s. Therefore, it was actually more odd for Fletcher to walk in and see someone other than Hank Donovan tending the bar, and it often caused him to walk right back out and drink at home.

From Fletcher’s perspective, Hank was one of the few tolerable people in the town other than his late father. Hank had been a childhood friend of Remy’s, and the pair shared a number of similarities that had made the young ranch owner cling to the older man in the difficult time he was currently going through. While many of the older ladies that knew Fletcher had tried to either do far too much for him, pry, or set him up with their daughters or granddaughters, Hank had done nothing but sit in silence with the young man and listen on the rare occasion that Fletcher felt like talking. It felt like Hank was the only person he could trust anymore.

“Mm, the usual,” the brunet grunted, steely eyes glazed over with a mix of grief, loneliness, and distance.

“You got it,” the old man quickly poured a brown liquid into a glass, sliding it across to his customer. Fletcher made no sudden movement toward obtaining nor consuming the contents of the glass, as was common. Though it had never been directly spoken by either of the two gentlemen, there was an unspoken knowledge between them that he wasn’t there for the alcohol. He lived on hundreds of acres of emptiness, and though he wasn’t very keen on the human race as a whole, he also knew that he was better off not completely left to his own devices. “How’re the horses doin’? That yearlin’ still givin’ you trouble?”

“More or less,” he replied, finally inhaling a small amount of the drink he’d been poured to buy himself a moment or two of silence. “I’m thinking of bringing her to Sunset Ridge next week and seeing how much I can get for her. Not sure yet.”

A brief look of concern washed over Hank’s face as he listened to the boy talk about the filly. This was the fifth horse he’d given up on this month, and he’d never given up on anything before his adoptive father’s death. In fact, he’d developed a bit of a reputation for being too stubborn and persistent, and refusing to give up on difficult horses. He’d taken in a lot of rescues and turned them into very successful mounts on the circuit, but he’d stopped buying horses after everything had happened. In fact, he was primarily selling them. Paired with the fact that he’d also stopped taking in clients, training, and boarding, Fletcher was going home to a nearly empty barn each night. “I see,” he replied, choosing not to challenge the boy’s thinking for fear of how he would react. Because he internalized everything, Hank often feared saying anything, and simply chose to respond in neutral phrases.

Before anything more could be said, the door swung open to reveal the most beautiful woman Hank had ever seen step foot in Silver Creek–and he’d seen each and every one of them over the last sixty or so years. A woman like the one that had just walked in his bar wouldn’t have come to a place like Silver Creek unless there was a mistake or an accident. Judging by the confidence in her stride, Hank assumed it was the latter.

As the woman strode up to the front of the bar, Fletcher turned to his right and took in the sight that had caused Hank’s mouth to gape open in bewilderment. There was a tall, elegant woman beside him who looked like she could have been a model or an actress. Not that Fletcher would know if she was someone famous, because he didn’t have a single television, computer, or phone in his house. There wasn’t any cell service on the ranch, and he hardly ever had time to do anything other than work the land anyway. Despite this, he had the distinct feeling that he should know her, even if it was only to find out what the hell she had done to end up in a place like this.

“What can I help you with, Miss?”

As the young woman responded to Hank’s inquiry with the answer that she was looking for a place called Fletcher Farms, the cowboy stiffened in his seat, willing Hank not to reveal his identity with his intense gaze. “What is it you want with the people at that place? They don’t take customers no more.”

"In this weeks tabloid, Top Model Juliette Kenton can be caught fleeing the big city. For what? No one knows! It seems that the young celebrity needed a break from the spotlight-"
Juliette groaned, switching the radio channel. Even on the go she couldn't escape hearing about her self. The news editors weren't wrong though, she did need a break from being in the spotlight. Things had gotten too heated and she was starting to feel weighed down by the standards she was expected to uphold. It was always, 'look perfect, dress a certain way, keep your opinions to yourself'. It was exhausting and starting to drain her mentally. Now she just had to hope that she hadn't been followed. She'd taken special care to evade detection from the paparazzi, but some of them were quite sneaky at times.
Juliette's mind was put to ease, however, as she pulled into the parking lot of a little bar without having been tailed. She couldn't believe she was going to step foot in such a place, but she needed directions as she'd become a bit lost. She was informed that the place she sought wasn't exactly easy to find, seeing as it was indeed secluded in serene nature. However, she'd under estimated just how small the town she'd find herself in would be. It was like one of those little pass-through towns that you see in the Hallmark movies.

Once she gathered her wits, Juliette exited her car and headed for the entrance. She opened the door, bounding in with her auburn curls bouncing with each step. On the outside, she appeared to have the confidence of all the people in the world, but on the inside she couldn't help but to be just a tiny bit nervous. What if she was turned away? Or was in the completely wrong area? Juliette willed herself to calm down since was about to get answers anyways.

"What can I help you with, Miss?"
Juliette flashed a bright, friendly smile as she paused at the bar, shifting her weight to rest on one hip. "I'm afraid I'm a little lost.. I'm looking for a place called Fletcher Farms. Could you be of any help?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. Out the corner of her eye, she observed the young man beside her. He had a rugged look about him, but it worked rather well. She could tell that he did a lot of hands on work, judging by his tanned skin and muscular body.

"What is it you want with the people at that place? They don't take customers no more."

An almost panicked look crossed the woman's face, but it disappeared nearly as fast as it had appeared. "I'd heard that I might find lodging there. I've come from the city looking for an escape," she explained, tucking a rouge strand of hair behind her ear. She prayed that the owners of the farm would be willing to take her in for a while. She hadn't the slightest idea of where else to go. She needed this to work out. She'd even be willing to pay handsomely, though that wasn't something that everyone needed to know.

"I swear I'm not in any kind of trouble, I only need to get my mind off of work for a little while," she said in hopes she hadn't made herself sound suspicious. Juliette looked from the older gentleman to the younger one on her left. Her gaze lingered a little longer than she'd normally allow. He appeared mildly uncomfortable. Was it something she'd said?

“Well, they don’t typically take customers, but if you made some sort of arrangement with ol’ Remy way back when, I’m sure the new owner would honor that. I’m sure he could use the money since the farm isn’t bringin’ in what it used to make.” Hank didn’t conceal the meaning of his words in any way, if the look he gave the young man was any indication.

Glaring at Hank as he polished off the rest of the drink he’d been poured, Fletcher stood the glass back down on the bar and studied the girl’s expression. She seemed desperate, and her gaze lingered on his face for so long he began to feel concerned that there was something wrong with it. Of course, women sometimes called him handsome or tried to get him to buy them a drink, but no one had ever looked at him like that before. Letting it get to him just slightly beyond what he should have, he ran his hand over his face and then glanced down at his hand in the dim lighting to ensure that there hadn’t been anything unpleasant she’d been staring at, and it had all been out of desperation.

Despite his resentment toward Hank’s statement, Fletcher’s mind kept circling back to what Hank had said about the possibility that the woman had made some sort of arrangement with Remy. He thought about the fact that the man had been so quick to take him in when he’d needed someone, and that he was the kind of man who never let the farm go more than a day or two without filling it with visitors of some kind. He always had clients milling about, whether they had horses boarded at the ranch, were looking for a reining prospect of some kind, or were simply vacationers looking for a country getaway. He was so different than the old man, and he felt a pang of resentment at his reclusive nature when he realized that turning the girl away might upset the man who’d been a father to him.

“Is that true?” It was Fletcher’s turn now to study the girl with a lingering gaze. Of course she was pretty, there was no denying that. However, he didn’t really care. Fletcher was indifferent to beauty, to women, to people in general. He had never been easily influenced by his peers or by any sort of societal pressure to find someone beautiful to hang on his arm, and it had only grown more drastic as he’d lost the only person he felt a true emotional connection to.

Despite this, there was an instinctive curiosity to Fletcher’s personality that led him to keep reconsidering Hank’s sentiment about the girl’s relationship to Remy. By now, he’d been through every artifact, every voicemail, every email, and every trace that suggested that the old man had ever existed in an attempt to feel as though he was still connected to him somehow. If the girl had known him, even for a brief moment in time, even for a text message, he had enough curiosity to consider letting her into the hell he had created for himself back at the farm. There was a certain glow to his hazel gaze that softened at the edges, and not simply because of the dim lighting in the bar. He was searching her for the pieces of himself that he’d been missing since he’d lost his adoptive father, and he was searching her for the sincerity and confirmation that what the bartender had suggested was true. Even if it wasn’t, he likely would have accepted a lie if it held even a morsel of sincerity. He was desperate for something, anything at this point, when he felt he’d been left with nothing.
