Ruina was still trying to figure out the purpose of the elf before her. He was different then the rest, there was no doubt about that. He had come out of nowhere, and his target had been her command. Not even the elves below. Losing her entire command would had been a crippling blow to the army, as they were very valuable to the army. This was a tactic known by many, but carried out by few because it was hard to take out the entire command. Yet, this elf before her killed two within seconds.
This entire battle had been hastily planned. Ruina only being alerted of it mere days before it was suppose to happen. And a few days was not enough to gather the armies of Khapan and ready them for battle. Especially when Ruina had them spread out across the continent for different things. Ruina focuses on the elf as he got closer, which was pretty helpful. Since the closer to Ruina and Isamuss the elf got, the more powerful the flame was. Ruina kept a close eye on the elf, watching for any sudden attacks. She was aware of the battle below.
Or rather the lack of battle below, and the cheers from her army. The dragon's roar joining. However, Ruina was still in a battle of her own. Silence fell from below as the Khapan force turned their focus on their leader, watching the battle. Surprise flashed through Ruina as the elf just stopped, inches away. Was he surrendering? She hoped so, she was running out of fire, and she knew her dragon was as well. And then suddenly the weapons in the elf's hands disappeared.
"Cease fire." Ruina orders as the elf's armor disappears. Isamuss obeys and the flames just disappear, and Ruina was hit in the face with a cold blast of cool air. She observes the elf as his crimson eyes moved from her to the sun to the battle field. His face was expressionless, like he had no care in the world. Ruina's lips thin at his words, but, the elf admitted to surrender. In fact, he seemed incredibly tired. Then the wings on the elf's back disappear, and he starts plummeting. "Isamuss, fetch." The large black dragon dives, talons extended towards the falling elf. Luckily, Isamuss was able to catch the elf before he hit the ground.
The two hover over their forces as Ruina raises her voice,"Let us return home with our prisoners and our victory. But let us never forget those who we lost today." Murmurs ring through the army as they start into motion. Putting those they had managed to capture onto the back of the horses of the elves they had lost. It took about thirty minutes and then the army was off, headed for home. The dragons flying through the air, though two spaces were empty, because of the elf that Isamuss held in his talons.
The trip home was quiet, all the elves mourning the losses of the day. Ruina, up in the sky mourned them the most. As Commander of the army, she felt a different kind of pain when she learned of the numbers that had been lost. She was the one that led them into battle, the elves put their trust and faith in her and yet every battle she lost elves. She knew she could not save them all, war was a needed thing in their world. And yet she still mourned. Soon the walls of Khapan began to appear, and Ruina looks down. Her soldiers were moving a little quicker now that home was in sight.
Already the gates were opening and by the time the troops got there, the gates were fully open and the horses trod onward into the city, while the dragons pass by overhead. As the troops flood the courtyard of the war barracks, other soldiers that had stayed home surge forward to help take horses and lead them inside the massive stables. Ruina directs her dragon and her command force towards the dragon stables, and with one solid boom seven dragons land. Ruina dismounts, handing the reins to one of the dragon hands,"I'll come see him in a little, I've got to check on my soldiers."
