Let's just say celiac was not a well known disease. And the few that were caught were given a 70 banana diet for 8 months. If they survived *that* then they were given the "plain" diet.

Raven Samara | Beta | F | M: Ikaris, Tori, Everyone in kitchen, Sydney, Natasha, Rowan, Carson
Raven grinned at Ikaris as he answered her question and rubbed his knuckles. She finished her plate before watching the pack. Ikaris grabbed a bottle and she frowned slightly as he left to the back. A couple moments later, Sydney came down and disappeared after him. She probably didn't know the alpha was out there. A small smile played on her lips, the youngest member liked caring for the crows around here. The birds were her second favorite. As most could understand, ravens were her favorite bird.

Nat came down grabbing a plate before heading back towards her room, throwing out a run. Rowan jumped up at that, going after her. Good, get those two out of the house for a bit. Together they would be fine. If they went by themselves, she would be a bit more worried. Although, the pack could take care of themselves. . .most of the time. She looked back at the back door where Ikaris had disappeared before watching as Tori went out with two plates. If anyone could keep Ikaris in order, it was Tori.

Getting up, she went over to the sink and washed her dish before watching Zane and Hope start interacting to one side. Zane was doing most of the talking right now, as usual, so Raven hoped that Hope would get too shy around him. He needed something to do before the hunting parties went out. Drying her plate and putting it away, she walked over to where Carson was standing.

"He didn't look too good. Let's hope your sister can talk some sense into him," Raven said, eyeing the door before sliding her eyes over to Carson, slight softness entering her gaze. He was probably the only one that she let close enough to her to be a friend. The laid-back male was in no harm's way anytime which made it easier to let him in. "With that aside, how are you doing this morning?" Raven said, moving on to a new topic.

Kline-22-Trans Male-M: Sydney, Ikaris, Tori, Rowan, Natasha
-
Kline huffed at Rowan's response to him before grabbing one of the plates Toni had set out and moving to go outside. He didn't miss the quickly glance of Sydney peaking into the kitchen before running off after the alpha but he thought it was best to leave her to her own devices. He'd never been particularly close to her, despite their nearly identical looks the two couldn't be more different and Kline found that more often then not he made her more uncomfortable then she already was. He just didn't know how to be quiet and still and those were the two things that were the most important to be around her. It hurt to know that the way he was caused problems for her but there was nothing he could do. He's tried so many times to be what she needed him to be but he failed every time and eventually he'd just given up. He was however extremely thankful for Tori and Ikaris, the two were probably the closest to Sydney and they could take care of her far better then he could.
-
A sad sigh slipped through Kline's lips before he decided it was better to start his day rather then dwell on sad thoughts. He wolfed down his food in a couple bites before licking the plate clean and washing it quickly. He bit his tongue waiting for Rowan to finish talking before he called out "do you mind if I join you two?" His foot tapped with his always overflowing energy as he hoped they wouldn't mind. He knew he wasn't a pack favorite, often easily annoying everyone else with his overabundance of energy and lack of attention span but he wanted to try to get closer with them. Maybe if he were closer with them he'd feel like he was actually part of the pack instead of feeling like he was just a drain on everyone around him. His eyes caught sight of Sydney running inside with tears on her face but he hesitated to go after her, he'd probably just make things worse with his presence. The thought depressed him but he tried to hide it as he decided not to go after Sydney and instead focus on Rowan and Nat.

Sydney-11-Female-M : Ikaris, Tori, Carson
-
Sydney couldn't help feeling a small rush of happiness as she was praised for speaking up. It wasn't often she felt like it was ok for her to scold others after all she was just a kid but Tori and Ikaris made her feel safe and cared for. They were always so kind to her, not that the others weren't kind she just didn't feel comfortable around them. The birds had taken matters into their own hands and tipped the cup over allowing the small flock to feast happily. Sydney giggled at that but her happiness soon changed to mild horror as she saw Ikaris's side, she hadn't meant to look but had caught sight of the large bruise out of the corner of her eyes and couldn't stop herself. Tears welled up in her eyes, her worry only furthered by tori's reaction to the injury. The small girl didn't even say anything as she turned tail and ran inside, not caring if there were a million people inside when Ikaris obviously needed to see Carson. Her small body trembled with worry and anxiety as she ran up to Carson and gently grabbed his hand. For once her words were loud and firm, it seemed she was only ever brave when it came to alpha Ikaris. There were already tear trails down her cheeks as she pulled on carsons arm and stuttered out "c-carson I-I n-n-need help! Alpha is h-h-hurt b-bad!" She pulled on Carson arm already trying to lead him to the back patio. She knew from the countless animals that she'd helped that even small injuries could kill you so seeing such a large ugly bruise on the alphas side was enough to make her think he might die and that worry only brought back memories of her mother and father. She didn't want to lose anyone else, especially not alpha Ikaris, sometimes it felt like he was the only one that understood her she couldn't lose that. She'd always hoped one day when she was a grown up that she could marry him and be a strong luna for the pack despite her horrible anxiety but that would never happen if he died, the pack would be lost without him. She would be lost without him.

Alpha male 25 Mentions: Tori, Sydney

Rolling his eyes Ikaris laughed, ignoring the pain in his side, "My knuckles are fine. They'll scab up, so I wouldn't worry about them." When Tori knelt by him his body tensed. He couldn't pinpoint why, but he couldn't relax himself. Blinking a few times he gave in, "You're right, I do love your cooking. Everyone does." The playful talk had been cut short, much to his dismay. Ikaris refused to look down at her, he could tell she had finally saw the bruise. Upon hearing his full name used, Ikaris closed his eyes, a subtle flinch. Mindlessly he moved his hand off of his side to grab the bottle that he had set down. Placing it to his lips he took a long drink before setting it back down.

There was no reason to lie about how it hurt. Finally forcing himself to look at Tori he nodded, "Yeah." Pausing he briefly debated on telling her what had happened. On one hand he wanted her to know, but on the other hand he didn't want to tell her in case she'd have a bad reaction. That and he feared that he'd appear... weak, to some extent. Neary forgetting that Sydney was there, Ikaris cursed at himself when he caught a glimpse of her running inside, "Dammit." Bringing a hand up to his face he pinched the bridge of his nose, "Last night was pretty damn bad. I let my guard down and they knocked me to the floor. You can guess what they did when I was down. It was a petty move."

As soon as he felt Tori touch around the bruise he clenched his teeth, letting a quiet hiss escape his lips. "Funny enough I thought about inviting someone last night. Part of me is happy that I didn't. Maybe I would've been hurt less, but those guys packed quite the punch together. If someone else got hurt like this I'd never forgive myself." There it was, his flawed view. In his mind he could get beat to a pulp, so long as no one else in the pack was beat like that. Self-care was something Ikaris severly lacked, that much was obvious. He'd never admit it though. Kari was confident i nthe fact that he could take care of himself, and that he was fine despite the injuries he got. If anyone told him that he neglected himself he'd laugh. He ate, drank, slept, and worked out. That was taking care of himself, right? Sure, it might not be as great compared to how everyone else cared for themselves, but it was something in his eyes.

The temptation to walk off to avoid whoever would walk through the door next was strong. The idea of Sydney running inside to find him help hurt him more than he had expected it to. She was a child and seemed to care more about him than he cared about himself. She undoubtedly went to get one of the medics, which meant he was definitely going to get scolded for not going to them himself. He wouldn't be surprised if he got scolded for making a child freak out either. Ikaris' lips parted as he very quietly slipped out two words, "I'm sorry."

Natasha DeForest | Werewolf | Female | Medic's Assistant | M: Kline, Rowan, Sydney

Nat glanced over her shoulder at the sound of Kline’s voice, her hand already closing around the door handle. “Sure”, she called back, propping the door open with her hip and gesturing for Rowan and Kline to go ahead.

She wasn’t particularly close with many people in the pack, but Nat felt as though she knew almost nothing about Kline. She was aware that his and Sydney’s parents had both passed away in a short amount of time, and that was it. Even so, she felt a little bit of relief that she wasn’t the only distant one in the pack.

“I was thinking we would take the path through the forest and around the outskirts of town”, she said to Kline as she stepped out into the fresh morning air. Nat definitely preferred the cold over warmth, but today wasn’t too bad; the breeze gave the warm air just enough chill to be manageable. “Does that sound good?”

She hoped neither of them wanted to take the trail through town. It was much easier terrain than the one looping around it, but going anywhere even relatively close to town made her nervous. So much could go wrong, especially with three pack members out to draw more attention.

Tori O'Connor | Hunter | Mentions: Kari, Sydney, and Carson

Tori saw the slight movement of Sydney as she disappeared and a silent curse left her lips. Her eyes lifted to see his features and she moved over to rest lean against his knee. "But we do get hurt when you are hurt Ikaris. I know I am not the only one that stays up at nights wondering where you are and if you are going to return home. At least if one of us is there with you, we know that you will definately will be coming back."

Hearing Ikaris say he was sorry, seemed to subside the anger that was brewing inside the female and she moved to sit beside him on the side that wasn't injured. "Kari...We all care for you as our Alpha. You don't have to do these fights alone. Why are you punishing yourself?" She took one of her free hands and moved the bottle of alcohol away and with the other took his hand in hers.

"I know that the Alpha looks after their pack and will do any and everything to make sure that everyone else is safe first. But please know, that we are here to stand beside you as well. Help you through these petty fights." She squeezed his hand gently before pulling her hand away and leaned her shoulder against his. "Plus do you know how long it has been since I have gotten into my own trouble? I miss being your partner in crime."

The joking tone coming back into her voice as she noticed Carson standing in the doorway behind a crying Sydney. Tori's heart went out to the younger girl and she stood up but not before whispering to Kari. "I will be in the gym if you want to talk." She moved over to Sydney and offered a hand.

"Why don't we let these two talk and let Carson patch Kari up? Plus I need some help picking out an outfit to wear today after doing a work out. Think you can help me?" Tori had also picked up the bottle that Kari had sitting down and was trying to carefully hide it away.

````
Carson O'Connor | Medic | Mentions: Kari, Tori, Raven, and Sydney
Carson had been quietly watching the group grab their plates and head to various areas before he grabbed his own and returned to his spot eating slowly. His eyes moved over to Raven as she spoke to him.
"We will see. She could also get worked up enough to go and start her own fight with whoever it was this time." He moved to set his plate in the sink and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I just worry that the constant fighting will bring more issues to the other members."
He had moved to stand next to Raven again when Sydney came rushing into the room. Carson raised an eyebrow as she took his hand and began to pull him after her saying that Ikaris needed help. "Okay Sydney. Everything will be okay."
He stated as he began following her, giving Raven an 'I'm Sorry.' Look over his shoulder before disappearing out of the kitchen after Sydney. He followed her to the back porch but paused seeing that Tori was sitting a little closer than he liked to the Alpha but that didn't seem to last long as Tori shifted and looked over towards them. As much as he knew that they were friends, he had seen some of the looks the two were giving each other when they thought no one was looking.
A sigh left his lips as he released Sydney's hand and moved over to kneely by Ikaris. "How many was it this time Kari?" Before Tori could disappear into the house, Carson called over his shoulder, "Don't you dare even think about going into town Tori. Your temper is showing its ugly head."
His attention was back on Ikaris and he only shook his head. He wasn't upset, just worried and concerned about the others. The male stood after a few moments and rubbed his temples. "We need to go to the medical bay. The supplies are there and it is away from prying eyes. I think most of the pack are outside, so you don't have to worry about them seeing their alpha going to get help."
He wanted to chastize the man for getting hurt again, but Sydney's tears and the anger that was dancing in Tori's eyes kept the words at bay.
Shadow | Loner | M | 24 | M: Open
The alarm clock went off and a rumbling growl came from the bed. Shadow shook his head, getting up. It was pretty early, but he had to go on a scouting run. Turning off the alarm clock, he went over to his trunk, pulling out some workout clothes before pulling them on. He could take a shower later. He was a bit beat from last night. Apparently, a bar fight happened without him on the other side of town.
Going downstairs, he made some eggs quickly before pulling out some coffee. He didn't mind the taste, the bitterness woke him up. Turning on the radio, he listened as he ate his breakfast. Weather was pretty good, maybe he would check out the mountains today. The dense trees up there would make good practice for his running. He hadn't shifted for a while, so that might be a good change.
Finishing up his eggs, he washed his dish before heading outside. A cool breeze blew as he looked around his cabin. He had managed to find this one only a mile from town, on the opposite side of the mountain range. He didn't like the cold too much but this way, he wasn't freezing and there was resources nearby. Locking the door, he started out towards town. Hmm. . .there was a route around the town that would work nicely. It would go along the edge of town, so he would be able to see what the market had this morning.
Making up his mind, he started into a run. After about 10 minutes, he made it to the outskirts of town and started the loop around it. He slowed as the market came around but sped back up as there was nothing that sparked his interest. Making it to the other side, he came to a pause as he took in the mountain range before heading for the trees. This was a pretty good training place, maybe he would use it more often. Shadow stopped as the trees got denser before taking out his knife. Slashing his knife into one of the trees, he created a small nock before sheathing his knife. At least he would be able to find his way back. Slipping into the forest, he started drills, weaving in and out of trees.
☾ Ikaris V. Ravik ☽
"Kari" "V"
Alpha male 25 Mentions: Tori, Carson
As much as he wanted to talk to her more, Ikaris stayed quiet, enjoying her presence beside him. Perhaps the next time he'd go into town, he'd invite her along. It had been a while since he went into town with anyone. His irrational fear of someone getting hurt overrode his desire to actually have fun with the people he cared about. The moment felt too short upon Carson's arrival. Kari felt himself yearning for Tori to stay, but there was no way he was going to tell her to stay. Especially in front of her brother. He knew that Carson wasn't dumb, and he knew that he was far from good at hiding his emotions. Carson knew him better than most of the other pack members alongside Tori, it was near impossible to put a facade on and expect him to believe it.
Looking over his shoulder, the alpha found his green hues looking at the medic who was most definitely upset at him. Taking a moment to lighten the mood he offered a small grin, "Fancy seeing you here." As soon as the words left his lips his demeanor changed back to what it was before, "2 people. You should see them though-" pausing he sighed, "belay my last. It's the first fight I've genuinely lost in a while." Glancing to the table the man swore, Tori was certainly sneaky. The drink he had was gone, and he hadn't even gotten half of it drank yet. It was for the best though, so he could hardly blame her. Standing up Ikaris walked inside, looking over his shoulder to say, "Meet you there then."
Ikaris couldn't remember how many times he found himself walking to the med bay. He certainly couldn't remember the last time he went without someone pressuring him into it. Come to think of it, there was a chance he never went on his own terms. Someone always coaxed him into it, and more often than not that someone was Tori. He never really liked the smell of the place, not that it was as bad as how hospitals smelled... but the cleanliness and supplies did nothing but remind him of hospitals. Before he was the alpha he had spent some time there, only because his parents had forced him to. They too had to deal with their son's stubborness. They'd often chastised him for getting into fights, but eventually they came to realize that he just wouldn't stop- that or he'd never take them up on their offer of sending him to see a professional about his habit. It was no wonder why they had liked Tori so much. She seemed to get through to him better than they ever could. That had to be one of the main reasons why they felt comfortable moving out of the pack's cabin and into their own home in the town.
Carson O'Connor | Medic | Mentions: Ikaris
Carson nodded and stood before following after Ikaris. When they reached the room, Carson pointed for Ikaris to take a seat and moved over to one of the counters and pulled out some gauze and antibacterial ointment. He walked over to Ikaris and held out his hand. "Hands first and then we will look at your side. Judging by both Sydney's and Tori's reactions, it isn't pretty. Except for maybe the colors." A tiny attempt at a joke yes. Was it needed...no.
He opened the ointment and put some on the gauze before pressing it to Ikaris' knuckles. "So it was two against one. Not really a fair fight in my opinion. Might I ask how you started this one? Normally people don't just randomly get into fights as often as you do. I don't get how Tori puts up with you." A sigh left his frame as he motioned for the other hand.
"Honestly...You are one of the few that I have to worry about in this pack. This is excluding my sister as I will always worry about her. But I guess I am missing the understanding for wanting to fight." He was about to get into chastizing their alpha when he shook his head.
"I am stopping there because I know it will somehow get to Tori and then I know exactly where that pent up anger will be unleashed towards." A small smile appeared on his features as he finished with Ikaris' other hand. His eyes always focused on his work as his hands moved with skill and gentleness.
"Now is the time to see your side. Did you happen to hear anything crack when you were hit? Or when you got up this morning, did it make any weird noises?" His eyes finally moved from Ikaris' hands to meet his gaze. His eyes searching over the alpha's features checking to see if there was any other serious damage.
"Also am I really that scary that you have to have Tori and Sydney see before you come to me? I promise I do not bite."
Rowan Draven | M | Werewolf | Scout | Mentions: Nat, Kline
Rowan looked over when he heard Nat come back. "Yep, I'm ready." he said, then looked over at Kline. "Yeah, sure, I don't mind." he said with a grin, walking out the door that Nat held open and giving her a nod of thanks. He had to duck slightly because of his tall frame. "Yeah, sounds good. Rather not go through the town, eh?" he asked, sort of wondering as to her reasoning behind not taking the easier terrain. He looked around, breathing in the morning air, looking into the forest. A small tingle went down his spine. He began to bounce on the balls of his feet. "Let's go." he said.
Hope Caddel | F | Werewolf | Hunter | Mentions: Zane, Raven, Tori
Hope went to clean up the remnant ash in the sink, of which Tori had already cleaned up most of it, when she heard someone walk over. She turned around to see Zane, another hunter. She also noticed Raven walk by and look over at them She was admittedly slightly confused, I mean, she'd never spoken to Zane before, so why now? Not that she minded the oppurtunity to get to know him better. She smirked slightly at his question, the playfulness in his voice allowing her to relax a bit, and she turned to him. "Well, I'm not exactly a morning person. I quite literally banged into my door this morning, the only reason why I'm this awake." she said with a slight laugh. She thought about his other question and tilted her head slightly. "I honestly dunno, I mean, I don't think Rowan sleeping by the firepit and then putting the ash in the sink gained any points for us. Though, didn't she say that she was craving it or something? Nice that she made enough for the whole pack though." she said, looking up at Zane and realize just how much taller he was compared to her, standing at 5'6".
Alpha male 25 Mentions: Carson
Quietly following along with Carson, Ikaris felt the need to shrug but stopped himself from trying to do that motion too much, "My hands are honestly fine, but whatever you say, Doc." Taking a moment to quietly gawk at the fact that Carson joked with him, the alpha awkwardly smiled, "I think it looks a bit like watercolor paint; paint is pretty." Well, that made no sense. Of course paint was pretty, but there was no logic behind him adding that to his sentence. Kari focused on his hands, watching as Carson efficiently applied ointment to his busted knuckles, which stung in response to being messed with. That didn't necessarily bother him though.
"It was far from fair. Bastards thought it'd be funny to knock me on my ass and kick me like some high school bullies. I think it was petty." Thinking back to how he had provoked them, he smiled, "I uh, can't exactly remember everything." His face burned, which likely meant his face had a rosey blush to it now. Cursing at himself for getting embarrassed he forced out the rest of his story, "I purposely flirted with the wrong person. If I'm being honest I can't remember if I flirted with the girl he was talking to... or if I tried to hit on his dumb ass. I definitely winked at someone though. That was the last thing I did before they threw the first punch."
Raising a brow at Carson's words he sighed, "I can't even pinpoint the reason myself. In the moment it feels good. Afterwards I feel like a dick. No one deserves to have me provoke them, but it always happens. I'd blame it on the drinking but I've provoked people sober before." He wasn't lying. Kari did enjoy the fights while they went on, but almost always after the fight ended, he'd think about how horrible he was to have caused the fight to break out in the first place. After all, he was hurting someone's father, brother, son, etc. Figuring he had spilled his heart out enough, Ikaris bit down on his tongue.
"I don't think anything cracked. If it did I wouldn't have been able to hear it over all of the noise in the bar." Curiously looking down to his side he gently poked at it before quickly retracting his hand, "It hurt like a bitch this morning. I'll partially blame it on the fact that I didn't even get into my bed before I passed out. I definitely didn't hear any weird noises though, so that's good... right?"
A huff of annoyance escaped his lips, "To be clear, I didn't ask Sydney to check it out. She just so happened to get a peek when Tori looked at it. I didn't want to bother you if it was just a bruise." Grabbing onto his shirt, Ikaris lifted it to reveal his side which was painted an array of colors, "I don't think it's that bad." That was the understatement of the century. Kari knew that it looked horrible, but compared to some of the other injuries he had sustained in the past, it was... mild.
