Theo || k9 || Male || 3 || Mentions: Alber . +At the sound of his nickname his body stiffens eyes locking onto the other males. His tail flickers once again as his audits pin sticking his nose though the hare to get a better smell of the male. 'Black billet' a nickname he was given by the humans in a green uniform, something they normally called him when they went on missions so others didn't know his birth name. Shaking his head he jumps up onto his hind legs his front to paws now on the cage bars as he looks at the other. The tag on his collar was covered in the army uniform pattern and in big black bold letters it read+ . Theo 'Black Bullet' k9: 7 . +His eyes soon drifted to the harness that was attached to his cage and then he drifts his gaze back to the male in front of him. Jumping back down onto his four legs he walks around in a circle and lays down near the enterance eyes still glued onto the male in front of his cage. Mussel restricting him from letting out a simple bark. Seeming relaxed he hoped the male would take it as a sign that he could enter and approach after all there is nothing he can do to him at the moment. Not that he wanted to anyway, this human seems like someone he could trust and rely on+ Edited at July 27, 2022 05:30 AM by Free-Claw12

Kaiser Dresden | 32 | M | Criminal | M: Kaitlyn(ind), Open Kaiser sipped his coffee again before ordering a breakfast sandwich. Once it came, he ate quietly as his eyes scanned the rest of the store lazily. There was two old men behind him which he had been listening to for a while. They had yet again changed their topic, but that was one of good things about elders: they were always talking. Kaiser finished his sandwich as they went into a new topic.
"Did you hear about that new station? I believe they start today." The shorter man said, digging into his second helping of eggs.
"Ah yes, the one with the K-9's. We're going to have young people walking around protecting us." The taller one said, chuckling.
"It will be nice to have some younger blood around here," the shorter one mumbled around his food. Kaiser got distracted by a young girl coming into the shop. She grabbed a breakfast sandwich and a drink, probably not coffee at her age. She sat down at a table before doodling in her notebook. He watched her for a moment before going back to listening to the men, catching the taller one saying, "Well, that's enough talk for today. I have my daughter to visit. You got the tab?"
Tuning them out to look out the window, he thought on what he heard. He knew one thing for certain, if he caught these men at the right time in the morning, he would get some good gossip about this town. Useful knowledge as well. Many of the regulars came here as well which made it easier to pick up chatter. The K-9 department might give him a bit of trouble but he would welcome the challenge. He leaned back, letting the waitress refill his coffee and take his plate. Perhaps in a bit, he would take a tour of the town or get someone to take him.

Aspen Indiana| Male(he/him)| 27| Handler| Mentions: Kodiak As Aspen was heading up and down the kennels , he saw a dog bolt towards him and knock Aspen over. As he sat upwards, he smiled softly at the dog.Energetic and Eager aren't you? He gently said. Looking at the open kennel door and also the image of his new canine partner and his details , he realized if he dog was called Kodiak , His new partner. "Hey Kodiak, how did you get out boy?" He questioned , he laughed to himself as he came to terms that the dog couldn't reply in human language . Aspen wiped drool from his face and smiled at the dog. ."I think we are going to good partners. " he muttered to himself. He looked around , it didn't say anything about a different language on the sheet so Aspen looked at Kodiak and simply said "Heel" He hoped the dog was following and not wondering around like a lost dog. He got to Kodisk's kennel and got his K-9 harness and his red lead. He looked around the kennel and hoped Kodiak would better if in his apartment. His apartment was a decent size , he had unowned fields nearby and a small wood with a river.

She saw a motion that was vaguely taught as a heel motion so she padded forwards cautiously and sat by her ankles . Her black fur brushing against Cassie's leg snd molting slightly in stress and excitement . He tail was still wagging and after awhile. Audrey Senita| Genderfluid(she/they)|24 years| Handler| Mentions : Rachel (Bear) then Maverick. Audrey smiled and felt her insides glow happily as Bear noticed and greeted her . Bear and her had been together as unmarried partners for... They could know exactly how long but it was recent that they got together. They grinned at Maverick and joked "They should of called you Phantom instead of Maverick" Audrey chuckled as she un hooked the K-9 unit harness over her shoulder. It was a black vest that could of been bulletproof that said homey Do not pet or something like that . She got a plain black lead from her bag , she had brought the lead in a hurry just in case the dog didn't have a lead at the current moment. She slowly bent down and said "Hey boy.." then slowly but firmly in German "Sitzen (sit), bleibe (stay)" and then opened the door and clipped the lead onto his matching color and just kneeled down. Audrey was determined to get to know the dog better. They hoped Maverick liked her, she hoped snd wished for a happy partnership but she didn't know this dog. No not yet she didn't but she was very , very determined to know the dog called Maverick . Edited at July 27, 2022 04:45 PM by Pastry Lord

Maverick|Male|5yrs|Belgian Malinois|M: Audrey The Belgian Malinois did what he was told, sit and stay, though he was pretty sure his tail made his whole body move to the side. Maverick stared at Audrey without blinking as he awaited another command. The urge to jump up and run around was powerful but he still stayed stuck in his place just so he wouldn't mess this up. He watched them crouch in front of him, eyes still glued on her. Mav hurriedly placed a paw on their thigh like he was introducing himself but really, it was the only was he could show his everlasting mischief. His tongue lolled out of his mouth in a weak pant, still staring at Audrey, ears perked.

Whiskey finally sat up and began tuning in with all the commotion and the mention of her name, her tail wagged as her new partner came and greeted her. She noticed handlers and K-9s piling in and wriling up, which made her excited unlike she was before. Whiskey licked and nibbled gently at Bear's fingers and tried to grab the toy from her through the cage. The excitment was bulding and her tail smacked against the cage. She watched and spoke fondly as her kennel-mates greeted their partners. "Goodluck to you as well!" Whiskey put a paw against the kennel door, ready to be let out and explore her new owner, get some sun, and maybe have some training to do. Whiskey let out a loud, strong, yet friendly bark, it kinda even surprised her. Whiskey was equipped with a standard borrowed collar from the station, hopefully she would get her own vest, leash, and collar soon. The toy delighted her as she finally felt happiness and attention for the first time today. It had been a long night the previous night, and the day was just as boring and confusing, but she understood why now and it was wonderful. She wondered about what would happen with her now, and of course she was concerned about her original trainers who she thought of as her first owners, but this new handler in front of her had shaken those thoughts and all she could focus on was seeing what she was about. Audrey Senita| Genderfluid(she/they)|24 years| Handler| Mentions : Maverick. Audrey smiled as Maverick put his paw on their leg . She slowly extended her arm stroked his shoulder. She then watched as a red admiral butterfly swooped and glided just outside the kennels until coming and settling on her shoulder. She glanced at it slightly careful to not move as it would startle it so she looked forwards to see Maverick's reaction. They were dogs afterall and she didn't want to seem strict snd no fun. Turns out the butterfly had a quick rest on Audrey's shoulder and then flew away towards a bush. Audrey began unzipping her bag to find the tennis balls she found in the back of the cupboard . They finally found one and rolled it shortly towards the Belgian malonis. For the first time,Audrey took in all of Maverick's physical characteristics. His cute deep brown eyes that seem to glitter, his masked black face looking at Audrey and a streak of black and white running down his chest . Audrey made the guess that it was a fawn sable color, she had only seen it once or twice in her old k-9 station. Audrey smiled and accidentally rattled the treats in the bag before smiling and hastily sipping up the bag.

Cassandra “Cassie” Troy | 25 years| Female | Handler | Mentions: Phantom Ace A wide, amused grin overtook Cassie’s previously subdued expression. She slowly reached down to scritch the fur behind Phantom’s ears. Her new K9 partner’s eyes were so wide and full of energy that Cassie began to feel a renewed excitement. Careful to navigate through the room without tripping anybody up, she searched for a more quiet corner. “Phantom Ace.” She mused aloud, observing the german shepard mix more closely now that they were a bit away from the overwhelming amount of stimuli that came with being right in the thick of it. She knelt once more and made sure her movements were slow and exaggerated, so as not to startle her new partner. There was an intelligence within those deep brown eyes. Now that Cassie was closer she could see the tensed muscles and boundless energy that Phantom kept pent up. It was impressive that she’d managed to behave and follow the instructions of a stranger like Cassie in a room full of distractions, new sights and smells. “I am Cassandra Troy, you are Phantom Ace. My new partner…” Cassie trailed off, a wave of nostalgia hit her like an incoming tide. She had made the same introduction to her previous partner. Her colleagues had teased her relentlessly for it, but she’d brushed it off, after all, it was only polite to introduce yourself properly to a new coworker, however fluffy they may be. She held out the hand not occupied by the leash and, slowly so as to give the dog a chance to backoff, reached to ruffle the sleek fur of her upper back. Cassie had a chance to thank her past self for deciding to take up the offer of handling another dog so soon after the unfortunate death of her previous. They were as different as night and day, Molly and Phantom. Whereas Phantom had jett black fur, a slim athletic build, and the general appearance of a german shepard; Molly had been a wide shouldered, heavyset Bloodhound whose wrinkled brow often narrowed her honey brown eyes. The spirit that burned within was similar in a way that had Cassie blinking and shaking her head in an attempt to come back to the present moment. Similar yes, but not the same. Cassandra had no illusions about that. Hopefully she and Phantom would be able to reach the same level of trust and comfort that had been of vital importance in Cassie’s work with Molly.

Phantom Ace(Phantom)| Female| 4 yrs|Ger.ShepxBloodhound|Mentions: Cassie Phantom's head tilted to look upwards towards the sound of her name , they got to a more quiet place and the human introduced herself. Phantom let Cassie ruffle her newly groomed fur, she sniffed the ground and turned away and then realized humans didn't understand that sniffing the ground was a dog's way of saying peace and that turning away meant Cassie had Phantom's respect. Phantom licked Cassie's hand and then flinched for some reason , she was expecting a firm voice saying " Nein!" which Phantom knew as No . Phantom whimpered softly and quietly and looked at the space she could run in. She loved running and then running and running until she hit a wall or a fence or a barrier or something. Running made her feel free and made her burn off the energy. Phantom dipped Cassie's other hand onto her head and moved her head so her ears were scratched so the itch would go away. Her tail was still wagging as she was so excited and happy that she finally met a handler who talked even when they weren't working. Phantom's handler wasn't abusive , he was just firm and only talked to Phantom when it was a command usually when they were working....Phantom didn't want to work for him as he didn't seem to love Phantom so she disobeyed him once and she was sent to another station to see if she would do the same. If she would, Phantom would be disgraced with early retirement. Phantom shuddered and huddled closer to Cassie. Edited at July 28, 2022 11:19 AM by Pastry Lord
