Mavis Mercer ✧ freshman | 18 | telekenisis
Mavis stepped into a dimly lit elevator, lugging two dark gray suitcases that were jam packed with all of her things behind her. All she wanted to do was go and lay down in a warm, soft bed. She had taken a shitty, crowded train to the Clearwater State University since that was her only option as a freshman with no car, estranged from her family. Her feet ached and it felt like her legs would collapse under her any moment now.
.
The elevator hoisted up into the air, and then stopped all of a sudden. She assumed it had reached her floor and waited for the doors to open. Nothing. She tried clicking the open and close door buttons. The "Push for help" button was jammed in and couldn't even be pushed. At this point, she was just hitting all of the buttons in frustration. God, could this get any worse? She thought to herself, sighing in defeat and slumping onto the dirty vinyl floor. She was unbearably exhausted.
.
Just a moment after, she felt the elevator being lifted again. It came to a stop and the doors finally slid open. She got up from the floor, feeling slightly relieved, but mostly fed up with everything.
After she painfully dragged herself and her suitcases to her dorm room, unlocked the door, walked in, and dumped her suitcases on the floor, she blissfully fell onto the bare mattress that was supported by a black metal bed frame, and stared up at the white popcorn ceiling. Her bed was placed next to a window with broken blinds, where the warm sun was shining through onto her face.
.
After some unknown amount of time spent laying on her new mushy mattress, she finally decided it was time to get up and unpack. She sat up and sighed as she stared at her two mighty suitcases.

Bodhi barely heard his phone buzz while he tried to engross himself in the paper, but his mind kept wandering back to summer break, and too much good Italian wine, twisted sheets, and sweaty limbs tangled together. At the vibrations of his phone he managed to drag his attention from the schedule and his thoughts, and in a flash, he was glad that he did when he saw the name that danced across the little screen. He shoved the list back into the front of a textbook, and wandered out to the sitting room, finding his shoes under an empty box, and hesitated. It was early spring, and especially back here at Clearwater, it was a bit chilly. However, he wasn't positive where he'd put his jackets while moving his clothes back into the bureau, and didn't want to take the time to find one. Instead, he snatched his old Clearwater hoodie off the doorknob of the closet, and wiggled into it, quickly slipped his shoes on, and hurried down the back steps. He'd gotten the jumper from his father during his junior year of high school, and it had been through a lot with him.

The stairwells were narrow and slightly nerve-racking to go down in the first place, and he was almost sprinting, plus he'd taken the box with him, unable to stand the clutter and mess it caused. He eased his way out the back door, tossing the cardboard box into the recycling bins close to the exit, and easily spotted the one person he was looking for. She had the trunk of her car open, and he could already see the bags and bins full of her things, and by the way she was standing...she wasn't pleased with the work she was about to have to put into carrying them all up three flights of stairs. His features softened as he studied her face from afar; her nose was crinkled with frustration, her lips were shiny from chewing on them, and her hair barely tamed. She had never looked more perfect to him. He made his way through the busy parking lot, ignoring the few people who were willing to say hello to him, and sneaked up behind her, and slipped his hands over her eyes, gently pressing her against the side of the vehicle.
"Guess who, Princess," he said, his voice teasing.

It felt wonderful to have her in his arms again, and Bodhi took a moment to rest his chin on her shoulder, his hands slowly moving to rest around her smaller frame, and he inhaled her familiar scent. Except...
"Hey," he murmured, affronted. "You changed your shampoo. Or your perfume. I can't tell. Something's different, though."
He frowned slightly, spinning her around, his eyes sliding up and down her body. He couldn't help his lingering glances, his mind flashing back to the sandy beaches and ridiculously priced drinks at the beach bars, and you couldn't miss the warmth and affection in his gaze, and he shrugged after a moment, pressing a chaste kiss to her temple.
"I'm guessing you'll want help with your stuff?" He laughed, turning most of his attention to the back of her car, which looked like a cheap version of Tetris. "I'm scared that if I take one thing out, the whole thing will come down." After a few moments of hesitation, he managed to maneuver a few bags out of the top, and the rest of the boxes settled into an easy order. "Don't carry anything too heavy," he warned. "The elevators are still down for maintenance, so we have to take the back stairs. I can get the heavy ones."

Jaiden was halfway through breakfast at home when his hungover brain slowly managed to get through to the rest of him, and he remembered what day it was. With a groan, he stood up, and stumbled into the biggest main floor bathroom, finding the Tylenol and a large glass of water. He sat down with his back to the wall, fighting the nausea that threatened to spill over. His vision was hazy, and his head was throbbing, and he winced as he heard someone clumping down the staircase. Jaiden closed his eyes, hoping that whoever it was would go away, but to his dismay, a pretty brunette girl kicked the door wide open. It slammed off the wall, and he swayed slightly, feeling like the room was spinning. He heard the young lady start to laugh, and slowly pulled his eyes off the sloshing glass of water up to her face. This was his youngest sister, Marisa, and she was doing everything in her power to piss off their dad.
"Missy, please," he muttered, hoping the nickname would soften the harsh words he couldn't help from slurring out. "My head is killing me."
She only laughed harder. "Are you actually hungover right now? Dad is gonna be sooo pissed. That's actually a good idea for next time."

He just shook his head. "What time is it? Am I gonna be late?"
Marisa shook her dark curls. "No. We live like, five minutes away, dipshit."

Half an hour later, he was in his bright red Maserati, speeding into the front gates of Clearwater. The students handing out fliers for clubs and the lot glared at his car as it passed, but they quickly fixed their faces when they recognized him. JJ's father made a point to invest a lot of money in the college that had given him so much success, and almost every student organization received a sizable donation from Don Jennings, so they weren't keen to get on his son's bad side. JJ waved as he passed, grinning. He loved the student orgs, and made a point to go to each one's exposition. He didn't care if they didn't like his dad, he didn't either, but he was *desperate* for their affection.
JJ passed the dorms, slowing down as he came into the Fraternity House district. He stopped in front of Ferndell, an old frat house, and the one for the boys there on sports scholarships. He was brimming with excitement, jumping out of his car, and running inside. He hadn't bothered to move his stuff out over the summer, none of the guys did. As he headed in, most of the guys recognized him and came over to chat, and a few brought up a party, and he smirked, his headache forgotten. This was going to be his last year, and so help him, it would be the best one too.

Lorelei (Laurie) Perez | 21 | Junior - Writer | Precognitive Dreams ⁄ Timewalking | M: Bodhi (D), Open.
.
A cool breeze drifted over her, looking up from her phone and to the cherry blossom trees. She had almost forgotten how beautiful they were this time of year, with their flowers in full blossom and how the different shades of pink made surrounding areas of the campus look like something out of a movie. The wind unfortunately made her hair fly in front of her face and she let out a small huff as her hand rose to flatten her hair back down. The weather, something that Lorelei had been reading about in the Clearwater newspaper, was acting quite strange lately. From the looks of the previous days weather forecasts, it seemed to be changing quite quickly. She recalled just last week that it had been somewhere in the later eighties, maybe even early nineties, but the next day it was down to the fifties and sixties. It was confusing really, because some days the forecast would state it to be sunny with no clouds and then it turned out to be gloomy and thunderstorming. It didn't make sense whatsoever, maybe climate change was actually prudently showing up in other places now. But it could be something else... The question was just, what?
.
While lost in her thoughts and slow unpacking of the top items in the back of her car, Laurie hadn't completely noticed the large amount of people who had parked next or close to her, other students and staff from previous years. Neither did she notice the footsteps coming up behind her, so when the sudden feel of hands landing on her shoulders and pulling her in she couldn't help but yelp, jumping slightly at the contact. But then a voice rang out, low and raspy... His voice. A slow smile grew on her lips as she realized who was behind her. She shivered slightly at his closeness and was turned around, her chocolate brown eyes gazing up at the colder ones that looked down at her. "Hey you," her expression softened, her hand reaching up to brush a loose piece of dark hair out of his face, her hand lingered on his cheek while he spoke. While he tried to guess what was slightly different about her she stayed quiet, if he only new... She thought to herself. She focused her gaze to him, glancing him up and down, he was still as perfect as he was when the separated for the, and this may be an strech, excruciatingly long last weeks of summer. Laurie's eyes landed on his lips as he spoke, but turned them away and moved to his side as he stepped forward to look at the work she had stuffed in last minute to arrive on time to the dorms.
.
She chuckled softly, brushing a lock of her hair behind her ear as he first gazed at the trunk full of her belongings. "No kidding," she chuckled softly, "It was sort of last minute. I might have slept in just a bit." Lorelei nodded, her arms folded loosely over her chest as she watched him take out a few of the things holding her essentials. What a gentleman he was... The young woman smiled to herself before speaking up, "I appreciate it greatly," she swung a backpack over her shoulder and carefully pulled out a suitcase, popping up the handle and rolling it out. She looked over to the dorm rooms building, a small groan escaping her mouth as she listened to the young mans unfortunate reminder, the staff needed to fix the elevators, god dang. "Alright, well- it shouldn't be too much of a problem." She spoke with a slight tinge of annoyance at the small problem. Lorelei turned back to Bodhi, her eyes going to the suitcases he had pulled out and offered to bring out. He was melting her heart- and who was she kidding, it sure wasn't the first time. "Thank you, darling."

Bodhi absentmindedly rubbed his thumb over her hipbone as she surveyed the trunk of the car, and then gathered up a couple heavy bags and boxes, already not looking forward to the many stairs. Once he was sure that she had arms full, but not too full, he followed her up the stairs, gently nudging her to take the right turns until they made it to the door, and he waited as she put in the familiar code from the year before, and they stepped inside. He groaned as he set down the heavy load, propping himself on the door frame, stretching out his stiff pectorals. "Did you pack bricks?" He teased, pulling her close, spinning her around, and sweeping her into a swooping dip, then back up, pressing his lips to her neck. "I don't want to take all those stairs again."
No matter what he said, he was willing to walk the stairs until the end of his life if it would even make her smile once. Bodhi slipped his fingers through hers and hesitated, then smirked. "Unpack these ones, okay, Princess? I'll bring the rest of them up. I don't want you taking the stairs with all that heavy stuff." He didn't know why he was feeling so overly protective of her, but, refusing to be swayed, he sweetly ran his fingers down her cheek, and then disappeared, heading back down to her car. It seemed even colder now, and he was glad for the heavy sweatshirt, the thick material blocking some of the icy cold wind. It took him about half an hour to get all her things back into the apartment, and once he was done, he was sleepy and chilled. Absentmindedly, he walked past her, playfully squeezing her hips, and wandered through to the kitchen.
Making tea was an age old ritual in the Ariti family. It didn't matter whether you were sick, tired, cold, happy, stressed, anything. Tea was always the answer. His mother, Sophia, had gone through a lot in her childhood, and had always found solace in the hot beverage, and he had definitely been a mama's boy when he was younger, so he'd gained the affinity. Most of his friends were amused by the fact that their tall, brooding friend could often be found hunched over a steaming cup of tea, flipping through old literature, or even his textbooks. He went through the motions without even thinking about them, accustomed to what he needed to do. He wasn't sure why he was so cold, but he assumed it was simply the difference from going from Italy's beautiful, red-roofed homes and beaches to the mountains. "Princess?" He called, waiting for her to come into the kitchen. "D'you want tea? You know I had to make some. Come talk to me. How was the rest of your summer? Still not talking with your mum and dad?"

.
The young woman stepped into the dorm room, being reminded how generous the Chancellor had been to give the University students a high ended area to live and hang out in for their time of schooling. Lorelei nodded at her lover's comment, "Alright, just call me down if you need help-" she called after Bodhi as he made his way down the stairs and to her car in the parking lot. She smiled to herself, shaking her head softly as she turned back to the spacious dorm room. The first thing that caught her eye, made her heart melt and well as earn a soft pink to rise on her cheeks. The girl hadn't even taken a few steps in when she was met with the photo of the two of them smiling, Bodhi's arms around her in a tight embrace as they smiled at each other. She let out a long, contended sigh before her eyes searched around briefly before rolling her suitcase and the bag she herself had brought up, to her room, right across the short hallway across from Bodhi's. Dropping those off she headed back to the front door and grabbed the other bags her love had graciously brought up for her, taking them to her room as well.
.
Thankfully, her bed had already been made neat and tidy by the employees and the room was perfectly clean. Lorelei decided to start unloading her two suitcases stuffed full of clothing, as she could finish decorating and putting her own special touch on her room tomorrow or later in the evening. The woman hulled the two suitcases onto her bed, side by side before unzipping them. Walking to her closet she opened the dark wooden doors, grabbing some of the hangers and bringing them back to the bed. Starting with the few dresses she had packed for events or days out she hung up in the closet, and she was quite pleased with herself as it was sorted by color. Laurie then opened the drawers, going back and forth between the suitcases and them, folding and placing pants, skirts, and different tops inside. Before she knew it, she was almost done with the second suitcase, the last items being her shoes which she placed under the dresses on a wooden rack that had already been provided. Sometime during all of that Lorelei had pulled her hair back into a high ponytail, sliding on a headband in the moment to keep her hair out of her face. Finished. With clothes at least, and on perfect timing. The dorm rooms main door opened and Bodhi's voice rang out, and after a bit the smell of tea wafted around the place.
.
"Oh, yes please." She strode into the living space and into the small dining room where she could gaze at her love as he worked. Taking a few more steps she leaned on the door frame of kitchen before coming up behind him, her arms slowly and gently wrapping around his torso from the behind, her head rested on his back as she looked around him to see his work. His questions met her ears and she let out a small sigh, "Well, I missed you, all summer...so it wasn't the best. I had to live in the same place as last summer, it wasn't horrible, but I'm much happier to be here." She paused, pulling away from him, instead taking a seat in one of the chairs at the small round coffee table. "Im not exactly sure I would even want to live with my family at this point anymore, its not use anyways." She shrugged. "Well, how was your summer? I hope you didn't have too kuch fun without me?" She giggled, her chin resting in her hand as she looked at him work.

.

The smell of the tea filled the small kitchen, and Bodhi carefully eased the hot water and herbs into a mug, setting it down in front of Lorelei, pursing his lips as he turned back to pour himself a cup, listening carefully to her words. He had a pretty good relationship with both his parents, his father and step-mother still lived together, and he spent good chunks of the summer back at their sprawling home on the East Coast. The Aritis were an old money family, they could trace their lineage practically all the way back to English Royalty, and their renown and success had continued on for generations. Sophia Ariti had passed away the year he turned ten, and he had never looked back. He had watched his father struggle with the grief of losing people before, and he was completely unwilling to let himself wallow in his misery. Instead, he had pushed harder than ever in school, his grades soaring high. Of course, he'd chosen law, because it was tradition in their family that the eldest son always took on his father's profession.

He turned around to face her, leaning on the table, warming his cold, pale fingers on the nearly burning tea, and sorrow flickered through his dark, aloof eyes. "I'm sorry that they won't talk to you. If they would just listen, I'm sure they would be very proud of you, because you are amazing." Bodhi let a pause go by, feeling it necessary to acknowledge her struggles and the feeling that she needed to cut familial ties, and then smirked. "You didn't miss me *all* summer. I took you to Italy," he teased. "Or have you already forgotten our time there?" His voice was soft and lilting, clearly teasing her, but deep down, he was slightly concerned. Was it so easy for her to move on from that time? Before he could begin to spiral, her words pulled him from his deep thoughts, and he chewed on the inside of his lip.

"Well, after the internship in Capri, I went home to Rhode Island and Massachusetts for the rest of the summer. I worked at my Dad's law practice, and hung out with my step-mum and Iris. They got a new set of dogs, you know how they like to train them." Bodhi smiled at the thought of his younger sister, and the time he was able to spend bonding with her and his father's second wife. He had been very unsure when his dad had remarried, wondering whether this woman was going to be a good fit for their little, grieving family. But she had swept in with the respect that their deceased mother had deserved, and had reestablished life, light, and music into their empty home. He cared for his sister deeply, she had been very young when his mother had passed away, and he wanted her to never feel empty or alone. However, there are some things a brother simply cannot teach you, so he was glad there was a woman to help Iris when she needed anything.

Now, he carefully sipped his tea, testing it gently, not wanting to burn his tongue. "I can't believe I'm going to be halfway through my college years already," he murmured. "Feels like just yesterday I was moving in here as a freshman. My dad was a bit of a pain that year, though he was happy I picked Clearwater. And it was nice to never have to wonder what career I would go into, cause he picked that for me too." He frowned slightly, but shook it off, not wanting to dwell on the darker moments of his childhood, and early teens. "Do you want to do something tonight? There's supposed to be a bunch of parties later, with all the beer and loud music you could ever dream of," Bodhi said, brushing an invisible speck of dust off his hoodie. "Or we could go out for dinner or something. It's up to you, Princess."

I brush out the bus with my coat and suitcase in tow. I lug it up to the doom I would call my own, (Enter dorm name). I heve it in and walk down the hall. Turning into mine, the first thing I notice is one bed. One. No room mate. None. I push it into a corner and dicide to deal with it latter. What is it and 12 bags? I am sure the let us wash our clothes here. I walk out of the room to walk to the gym. Finding a calm space I practice a martial arts form. Just because I am here, does not mean I am aloud to slack. Breath in, breath out. One move at a time. 'Slow down' my instruter's voice says in my head. I slow and go smouther. Chuging down my water bottle,I survy the gym. It is mostly empty exect for a few groups. Is that Jaiden? I wonder if I shuld go say hi, but he looks busy.

Being reminded once again about the trip to Italy made the young womans lips curl up in a smile, it was small but it was enough to be seen as she listened to Bodhi talk. She nodded, "Yeah, I guess your right." She paused briefly, "Then I missed you for the time we were apart." The young woman brought the warm glass of herbal tea that Bodhi had made to her lips, taking a small sip before placing it back down on one of the tables coasters. She could hear the small hint if concern in his voice when he brought up the trip to Italy and she shook her head, "It was a wonderful trip, Bodhi. Thank you for bringing me along." Her eyes averted to the ground before she ran a hand through her hair and looked back up. The trip had been absolutely amazing- the two of them had experienced so many adventures together. The food had been amazing, and the sights were absolutely gorgeous. The people were nice as well, which was always appreciated and Bodhi had made time for her whenever he could. It was apparent and clear why her grandparents and her mother had lived there for a while after she was born. But it was also clear why her family had moved, it was incredibly expensive in a lot of the areas and with six children it would have been hard to keep up a nice living there.
.
As Bodhi went over his own summer Laurie nodded along, chuckling slightly when he brought up his sister. Lorelei absolutely adored her, and Iris's love for animals just furthered that. Meeting Iris had also made the young woman realize how close Bodhi's family was with each other. She envied them for that... Lorelei appreciated how good Bodhi was to his little sister- she swallowed, and she would just have to hope he could become as close with the...suprise... That Laurie was well aware would need to be shared to him soon.
.
When the young man had brought up the activities they could possibly do this evening, it couldn't have been more perfectly timed with her thoughts. She bit her bottom lip softly and clicked her tongue quietly when he brought up the parties that were supposed to be happening tonight and assumingly many nights ahead. It was the first days before classes started and it would be a time where all the different University students would be able to come together. It might even be a place to connect with new people... But would that be the healthy and safe option for her current predicament? No, probably not anyways. And the fact that she hadn't done too much research was making her a bit nervous, were you able to drink when your pregnant? No? Maybe? She didn't know, but she sure didn't want to risk it. Besides, she wasn't really one to get out there and socialize too much if she had the choice to stay in or go out to eat with her boyfriend. And lucky for her, Bodhi had brought going out for dinner up right after.
.
She looked up at him after he had finished speaking and nodded, "We could get something and bring it back here if you'd like- have a little movie night?" She suggested, really just wanting an excuse not to go to the party and stay back in comfortable clothes on the sofa.

~Talon~

22 |Male | Pan |Teleportation Invisibility| Senior | M: Enzo, Kalen.

Talon yawned briskly. It was still too early. Or maybe it was just because he’d… gotten maybe a little too excited last night. Maybe he shouldn’t push himself that hard… hm… eh… nah.

Talon glanced up at the mighty Cherry Dorms and sighed with a little smirk. He thought about taking a quick smoke before entering, but it was quite crowded outside anyways, and he didn’t want to smoke all over the new freshmen, so he let out a breath and strode up the front steps. ‘I suppose my roomie already run someplace else. It’ll give me some time to get my things in order.’ He thought privately. The young man struggled to get his suitcase up the steps, and by the time he got inside, he was breathing heavily and nearly wheezing. ‘Ugh. Maybe I need to take a break from smoking…’ he grunted as he towed his items across the lobby and to the elevators, using the keycard he held in his mouth to click it open. He squeezed inside, using his elbow to press the number of the floor he needed to reach. While sharing the elevator, Talon of course made some small talk, awkward small talk at that anyways, and when his floor came, he pulled his items out of the elevator with a massive huff, then towed them down the long stretch of hallway to his room. Though before he reached it, there was suddenly a buzz. The boy was so jumpy he nearly dropped the bags in his hands, but managed to set it down and find his phone in his back pocket.

He cleared his throat, wiping sweat from his forehead as he opened the text, seeing the notice from Enzo.

“Party at 10, u there?”

Talon smirked.

“Oh I’ll be there.” He texted back.

“And bring the good stuff this time. Last year. We’re going wild.”

Partying. Maybe that was the only thing he was meant for. Is that what he wanted his legacy to be? Hell yeah.

Talon sighed as he put his phone back and started towing his items to the door, though he paused, taking a glance at a curious young man standing outside what he guessed was his dorm room. He looked at the door, then at the boy, then at the keycard in his hand, and back at the boy. Almost immediately, he grinned.

“Hey cutie, you my roomie?” Talon smiled. He awkwardly shifted forward, and instead of using the card for it’s intended purpose, Talon swiped his card between the door, then used his hip to slam it open.
