Neryth : Dragon : Head Dragon : Female M: Kiran (dir.) & all (ind.) Neryth stood just behind her rider, her tail flicking slowly back and forth. The older dragon had seen her fair share of bondings, and was not at all new to this. In fact, these days she mostly found them boring. It was only ever truly interesting when something happened. Such as a dragon trying to set their new bonded partner on fire. Though she knew it was prohibited, it was still entertaining. Particularly because then she could assert her authority and dominance over the other dragon, and show them who was in charge around here. A soft humming escaped her throat at the thoughts. She enjoyed knowing she was in charge. Though she'd never admit it, Neryth was a vain dragon. She enjoyed people's awe at seeing her. She enjoyed knowing that others respected her and feared her. Norrix | Elf | trainee | Female Mentions: All (ind.) Norrix stood still as a statue, calculating gaze sweeping over the gathering creatures; humans, elves, and dragons waited impatiently for the ceremony to start. She herself had begun to grow impatient as the sun beat down on her, but a sheen of sweat forming on her brow was the only indication she felt the effects of waiting. Her gaze flicked upwards, cataloguing the general, the queen, and her second as more dragons landed. It was customary for the riders to arrive first - a show of respect for the dragon's time. To disrespect a dragon was to be scorched where you stood, and Norrix would prefer not to take that chance. As she began to return her sights to the front, Norrix couldn't help but catch on the dragon standing behind the general. She hadn't noticed her previously, as the dragon was dark enough to blend into the shadows. But when the light caught on the blood-red scales that lined the dragon's sides, Norrix was captivated. She would have a dragon as beautiful as that by the end of the day. To bond with such a creature was a magnificent feat that few were able to accomplish. Stone faced, Norrix sighed as she felt her heartrate increase with anticipation. Soon.

Zynar | Dragon | Male | Trainee Mentions: All (ind.), Avika (dir.) As Zynar circled the clearing, his head swept from side to side, looking at both the dragons below and the humans and elves that waited. Since he was young, Zynar had been told to scout the clearing first, to see if he could feel anything from above. It would allow him to land closer to his rider, and prevent another dragon from attempting to claim them. Lower he flew, and faster his heart raced as he failed to sense a connection with any of the potential riders. None of them looked right. With a huff of irritation, he landed, wings firing a breeze so powerful that some of the trees shook from the impact. Tucking his wings close to his body, Zynar's tail subconsciously twitched with something akin to fear and he continued to search. What if he didn't feel the desire to bond with any of the riders? Was he just meant to settle for whoever was not picked already? Surely that wouldn't bode well. Striding over to a large tree, Zynar sat and allowed his wings to stretch to catch the sun. Whorls of white glimmered in the dappled light, offsetting his dark scales. Closing his eyes for a moment, Zynar let himself feel for the bond. Surely, someone was here that he was meant to find.

Avika : Elf : Queen : Female M: Zynar & Navi (dir.) Junover (Ind.)
Avi looked around at the dragons that were gathering in the clearing. A soft smile touched her lips as she noted the excitement that seemed to shiver across the wings of the younger dragons. She knew how they felt, the excitement of a potential new bond. Her eyes glimmered with amusement as she noticed a young elf racing to the line. The elf's aura thrummed with just as much excitement as Avika had felt at her first bonding ceremony. A soft hum escaped her as she returned her gaze to the dragons. It always amused her slightly to see dragons sitting in trees, as two of them now were. The idea of a large, assumably very heavy creature, sitting in a tree, was a little amusing to her. Avika stepped forward to stand near the end of the line, though not close enough to actively be part of the line. As Queen, her role was to supervise and make sure nobody got hurt, whether dragon, human, or elf. Avi was not expecting to get a bond, she hadn't been chosen during her past many Ceremonies. But she could always hope anyways. Edited at September 11, 2023 05:16 PM by Shenzu

Raven l elf l Warrior / Traitor/ M: open Raven stood at the edge of the clearing, watching the crowd. A number of dragons had gathered along with a few elves and some humans. She brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she waited. Raven had never been bonded before but she had heard tales of those who had. As she looked around she wondered what dragon would chose her. What if a dragon didn't chose her. She dismissed the thought. She resumed waiting and watching. Soon she moved beneath the shade of a tree as the sun rose higher and higher.

Arya : Elf : Warrior : Female M: Vervada (dir.)
Arya joined the line more calmly than the rest of the trainees. At age 18, she had seen 3 Bonding Ceremonies, so she generally knew what to expect. Her right hand rested lightly on the hilt of her dagger, her fingers twitching slightly from nerves. The idea of bonding with a dragon was exciting to her, but also nerve-wracking. Arya tensed as her gaze settled on a large, black-purple female dragon. Her gaze immediately latched onto the powerful creature. The beast was gorgeous, stunning to her. Dragons were all quite stunning, they had glittering gem-like hides, but this one was different, and frighteningly beautiful. Arya tensed a little, sensing the dragon's discontentment. Something had happened to this beautiful creature to cause her so much pain, and she felt sad for the dragoness. She knew a creature of such strength wouldn't want pity, but she couldn't help herself. She just felt bad.

Dragonfly l dragon l trainee l mentions: open. Dragonfly's wings spread wide as she glided high above the trees. She knew she was heading In the general direction of the bonding clearing. She spread on wing wide and allowed a new current of air to twist her around. She fell into a dive then right above the tree line caught herself and rose to the clouds. She lifted a talon and a small wisp of cloud dissolved in her claw. She wished she could fly forever. Her wings taking her through the clouds and the sky.
Dragonfly sighed and twisted into a dive. Soon she saw the clearing and angled her wings, landing softly in the grass. She looked around a lot of dragons and soon to be riders where here.

Navi : Dragon : Trainee : Female M: Asteria (dir.) Zynar & Junover (Ind.)
The female's yellow gaze swept the clearing, searching for the person that was causing this tugging sensation in her heart. There. A human female in the line, standing beside the excited, fidgety trainee. That was the one. This was the person causing the tugging in her heart. She just knew. Navi was about to launch herself from the tree, but stopped, seeing another dragon climbing into a tree. She hesitated, unsure if she wanted to make the first move. But she couldn't ignore the tugging. She just couldn't. Navi stood on the branch, extending her feathery wings. Bunching her muscles, Navi launched herself into the air, beating her wings strongly to gain altitude. Circling overhead, Navi breathed deeply in the sunlight, enjoying the warmth on her dark colored scales. Folding her wings in, the dragon dropped from the sky, diving towards Asteria. At the last moment, she flared her wings, filling them with air. Back flapping twice to slow herself, Navi touched down on her hind legs first, before dropping onto all fours. Her yellow eyes were fixed on Asteria, but her gaze was gentle. Edited at September 11, 2023 05:29 PM by Shenzu

Vervada : Dragon : Warrior : Female M: Arya (dir.), All (ind.)
Vervada's burning gaze swept over the clearing. She'd been to 3 pairings in her life, not counting her first, and the scene was no different than the other times. Her gaze paused as she watched the head dragon and her rider shift near the elf queen, the self important dragon glaring down at all the others. Her lip curled in disdain. What a proud, vain creature. Dismissing Neryth, she continued her sweep of the area. A dark blue dragon swooped down from the sky, landing dramatically then moving over to a rather large tree and laying down, eyes closed. Another dragon landed, this one light blue, and rather small, and began looking around slightly uncertainly. She snorted. What weakling dragons, all terrified that they'd get left without a rider. For goodness sakes, they were DRAGONS, they didn't need riders to live!
Suddenly, the dragon that had climbed into the tree earlier leapt from it's perch, swooping up into the air and circling the clearing. Vervada's gaze darkened. The poor dragon had found it's rider, and now it's miserable fate was sealed. She watched with trepidation as the dragon dove towards the forest floor, heading straight for a human female with black hair, coming to a strong halt and landing in front of the woman, their gazes locking.
As Vervada scornfully watched them, a sudden tingling ran through her, causing her front claw to reflexively reach up and fiddle the pendant on her chest. The feeling faded, and she dropped her claw back to the ground. Until it came again, stronger, an all too familiar feeling... a horrendous feeling. Her heart suddenly began to pound in her deep chest as feeling of terror and mental pain washed over her Unable to stop herself, she whipped her head around, her burning violet gaze meeting a pair of bright blue eyes gazing at her. And worse, the gaze was filled with pity. The blue eyes seemed to fill her vision, and for a moment all she could do was stare helplessly. Until she realized smoke was emanating from her nostrils. Quickly she blinked, breaking contact and swallowing the flames that were rising instinctively in her throat. As much as she'd love to set the entire hated clearing on fire, she knew the rules, and knew better than to break them. But there was still a problem at claw.
Risking another look she glanced back in the direction of those memorable blue eyes. A young human girl was standing in the group. She had blue hair, a long sleeved red top, and ,Vervada begrudgingly admitted to herself, rather sensible leather pants and boots, with visible knives on either side. The feeling rushed through her again, stronger, more urgent. She pushed it down desperately. NO, she wouldn't give in, couldn't... it wasn't supposed to be her, surely she was just reacting on pure emotions. She couldn't go through the pain again... surely another dragon was meant to have this girl as a rider!

Arya : Human : Warrior : Female M: Vervada (dir.)
Arya winced, sensing the hate from the female dragon. 'What happened to this beautiful creature to cause such pain?' she wondered, feeling even more sympathy for the dragon. Arya jumped, having not been paying attention to her surroundings, as another dragon landed in front of the line. Arya paused for a moment to take in the new dragon's dark colored scales. But her blue orbs drifted back towards the purple one. She couldn't take her eyes off the dragon. She could feel something pulling at her, but she wasn't sure what it was. Something in her wanted to comfort the dragon, to understand why she was in such pain. But a part of her was also nervous. She could already tell this dragon definitely had a temper, and she didn't want to be the one to make her snap. Not to mention the smoke rising from the female's nostrils, clearly signaling irritation. Edited at September 11, 2023 07:02 PM by Shenzu
