Beollan
Fire Dragon | Male | New-Ish-But-Not-Really Dragon | Mentions: K'issuk Ran, Tegomir [Ing.], Gene [Ind.]

Warily, the fire dragon appriased the dragoness, offering her a fair amount of side eye after she settled in next to him. Company was no longer second nature to Beollan, so actually talking to another dragon felt foreign to him, add in the stress of the situation and his displeasure, and it let to one cranky fire dragon. Still, he wasn't about to just lash out and take it out on the female, she had done nothing to him.

He scoffed lightly at her comment, but he seemed to visibly relax the tiniest bit knowing there wasn't a human lurking around him. "Good," he grumbled, unable to hide the distaste in his voice, "can't stand the stupid things." His wings twitched on his back and he shifted his weight so he was sitting in a way where he was more comfortable and could keep one eye on the valley and the other on the she-dragon.

"I take it you are a Deep Sea dragon?" He asked, turning his head to look at her for a moment, glancing over her appearance one more. He had seen enough in the world to know that water dragons, like any type, came in a bunch of variety, but most seemed to have certain features depending on where they hailed from.

His attention returned to the valley for a moment, his irritation spiking for a second again when that ever so present tug in his chest seemed to pulsate again, urging him to go forward and into the fray to find the human planned for him.

He half registered her introducing herself as he observed the calamity of the valley, all of those dragons and humans socializing... bonding.. gross. Of course, that was until he went visibly stock still, his entire body tensing as if someone had just eletrocuted him. His head snapped around and pinned a startled look to the tail that had wrapped around his own and given it a shake. He blinked once, then twice, and then his whole body seemed to twitch at once, rolling from the top of his head down to his tail when she had finally let go. He wasn't trying to be a total weirdo about a simple tail shake, but the male hadn't had any physical contact with anyone, dragon or human, in centuries. It was almost startling to feel the rub of another's tail against his own so suddenly.

A soft, defensive hiss caught in his throat, but it wasn't aggressive like his other ones had been, more so just an expression of his shock. Finally he cleared his throat, fighting to find his voice so he could reply back to her introduction. It didn't come though and he merely offered her a semi-akward nod, while continuing to give her side eye afterwards, his pupils constricted into fine points.

Thankfully, she continued speaking, replying to his comment about having wished to eat his own eyes instead of being there, and he seemed to snap out of his stupor finally. Shaking his head he bared his left canine tooth and growled softly. "I assure you, being here is that bad for me. Anything is preferable to being here right now," he confirmed, smoke once again billowing from his nostrils and vents in displeasure. When she added on about being able to understand his point of view he snort and murmured beneath his breath, "I doubt it," but otherwise gave no reply to it.

He flinched when she suddenly let out a warning screech, not because it scared him or anything, but just because it was so loud, so close, and he was used to a silent cave with only his own breathing to listen to. He half bared his teeth in the direction of the air dragon who had brought upon her ire, blaming him for the pain he now felt in his ears. However, his irritation shifted again as she spoke, referring to them as "animals".

"We are dragons after all," he snorted just before he spoke, and then shook his head, but it was more to shake off stress than in actual disapproval of her words. "I suppose this is when you tell me that everything will be okay, and I should just be open to it, that the bond with a human is unlike any other?" His voice while still raspy and hoarse had some venom to it, but it wasn't meant as an insult, the male just was not good at conversation.

His fiery gaze swept over the crowd again before his eyes paused on a tall young woman standing amongst the crowd. He wasn't sure at first why he stopped on her, but whenever he tried to keep scanning about, he found his eyes moving back to the human girl. Ahh. So that was her. That made sense. He followed her with his eyes as she moved out of the crowd to an area where it wasn't as congested, and he grunted, standing up as she looked around.

Beo slowly lifted his head up from where he normally held it, and shook his entire body, wings extending to reveal the flame colored membrane before tucking them back in against his side. His tail curled and swayed behind him actively, but most curious was the steady plume of smoke rolling from his nostrils and the vents in his head now. It swirled around his face and down his neck, dancing along his body before disappearing into the subtle breeze.

After a tense moment, the fire dragon sighed out angry, seemingly deflating as he turned to glance at the sea dragon by his side. "I have no desire to do this or go over there," he admitted. He knew it was expected of dragons to find, bond, and preferably accept their riders. And at one point in time, Beollan had been happy to do so. But no? Now it seemed like a betrayal, an unnatural thing that made the scales on his body want to fall right off. So, for now, despite what was expected of him, he remained standing, his pasture rigid with a combination of remorse, confusion, sadness, but most of all? Anger. Sheer, unbridled anger.

The female shrugged, the gesture oddly elegant for her large build. 'I come from a mountain range far to the north from here. My parents lived in a cave blasted into the side of a volcano. I didn't like it much,' she added, wrinkling her nose. 'I can tolerate heat, but I can't tolerate direct exposure for very long.' A soft sigh escaped her. 'My parents were always disappointed with me because I can't withstand exposure to direct flames like my siblings could. I can only handle it for about a minute or two, then it starts to burn me.' She shrugged again, as though trying to brush it off, trying to act like it didn't bother her that much, even though it clearly did bother her greatly. A longer pause, and then, 'Favorite food and color?'

Beatrice "Birdie" Brailas
New Rider || Female || Mentions: Keziah, Kenji, Aalis, Rhyor, Hakidonmuya
Indirectly Mentions: None

Beatrice stood there, beaming like a fool upon watching Keziah. Concealing her emotions had never been her strong suit, so when she laid eyes on the dragon meant for her friend, her attempt to maintain a facade of secrecy crumbled. Rather, she was more obvious than anything, waving Keziah away with her hands.

"Oh, she's furious," she spoke when Keziah mentioned Haki not being visibly angry. "Can't you feel her anger radiating off of her? Better back up quickly. I think she's hungry." Raising her hands, she waved her fingers in a "spooky" manner, grin still taking up her entire face. "Lunar dragons are good at hiding their emotions. That's why they're so dangerous, didn't you know that?" Entirely making up things at this point, Beatrice refused to allow her little "act" to fall, that is, until Keziah began to move.

Standing there, Beatrice stood with a proud look upon her face the moment her friend made contact with the light dragon. "Like I said," she began. "Pity you don't have a dragon of your own." With that, Beatrice let her best friend be, not that it was difficult. At the same moment, she had felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning, she was met with Haki, who lowered her head and introduced.. a gift?

The familiar voice reemerged within her mind, something that Beatrice doubted she'd ever get used to. Haki then- No, Hakidonmuya, began to speak, mentioning her size and eyes, and how she hoped that they weren't unnerving. "Not at all. In fact, I find them most interesting." She paused. "They are rather quite beautiful." Complimenting Hakidonmuya, Beatrice remained standing, teetering around from side-to-side before her eyes lit up.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I never introduced myself." How rude of her. "I'm Beatrice." Beginning to reach her hand out, she paused, lowering it. Did dragons even shake hands? She wasn't truly sure, and instead, let it flop to her side, offering Haki an awkward bump on the shoulder instead. Why she did that, even Beatrice wasn't sure, odd as it was.

"A.. gift?" She repeated, echoeing the question as if it were the first time she had heard of that word. How humiliating. She hadn't woken that morning expecting to be chosen, and so she didn't bring anything in return. "I feel awful," she confessed, her smile waning as she beheld the chained stone presented by the lunar dragon. It was a stunning piece, milky white with delicate flecks of silver and rose hues when observed closely.

She continued staring at the gift, cupping her hands for Hakidonmuya as she placed the necklace in her hands. Observing it, she listened to the background of the stone. It was a sentimental gift, one that Haki stated was only gifted to those cared about. "I feel absolutely awful," she repeated, wrapping her fingers around the necklace and clutching it to her chest. "I hadn't expected to be chosen, and so I didn't even think to bring anything with me." Pausing, Beatrice took a moment to raise a singular hand, touching a chain that rested around her neck and beneath her shirt.

"Here." Using a single hand, she worked her way to the back of her neck, unclasping the thin golden chain and dangling it towards Hakidonmuya. The locket attached to the chain was unremarkable, a simple design that held nothing but personal meaning to Beatrice. "It's not nearly as beautiful as the necklace you gave me, but it holds a lot of value to me. I hope that makes up for it somewhat." With one hand still clutching the Tears of the Moon gem, she used her free hand to open the locket, showing the lunar dragon what it may be used for.

"You can place anything you wish inside – pictures, small gems, whatever holds significance for you. My grandfather made it, he was a metal smith." While it wasn't much, it was better than nothing. Besides, being given a gift from a beast such as a dragon and not offering anything in return? It was unheard of.

"You are a very wise dragon, aren't you." Her words came out as more of a statement rather than a question, having listened to Haki's words about being destined for greatness. It was at that moment that Beatrice finally put the necklace around her, briefly showing it to Keziah with a smile before returning her attention to Hakimonduya. It seemed as if the lunar dragon wished to be in the shade, which of course made sense. She had even asked to find some once the ceremony concluded. "Of course." Studying Haki momentarily, Beatrice continued. "What happens if you're in the sun for too long? Does it annoy you, or actually physically harms you?" She was curious to understand more about the dragoness, and what better way to learn than to ask.

Head turning, she noted Kez still conversing with her dragon, and so she glanced back to Kenji, who had shot her a smile and not one, but a double thumbs up earlier when asked if he were alright. What caught her attention most was the way his hair had grown and how, despite his best efforts to smooth it out, still remained grown. It was an amusing sight, one that she knew bothered him. Relishing in the thought, she turned to Hakimonduya once more, figuring that she should introduce the others.

"Before I forget, that dangling man over there is Kenji, while that woman near the light dragon is Keziah. Kez for short. Don't mind them much." Introducing her best friends, Beatrice figured she would give Haki a heads up, letting her know that they were no threat. However, a sudden mention of her name caught her off guard. Glancing, she eyed Kenji once more, who seemed to be introducing her to his dragon. The mere mention of her name to the storm dragon made her take a large, no, giant step towards Hakimonduya.

"I hit him with a stick earlier," she whispered to her dragon. "I doubt I gained many points because of that."

K'issuk Rán
Water Dragon || Female || Mentions: Beollan
Indirectly Mentions: None

Despite the attitude in his tone, K'issuk truly enjoyed the company of Beollan. Then again, the female was hardly picky, often enjoying the company of mere fish.

She had briefly hummed in response to his earlier words, speaking of how he disliked humans. She knew better than to pry, and so she didn't ask why. Simply nodded her head, as if she understood. From a certain point of view, she did. Humans were all different, but she wasn't one to judge, because at the same time, she could argue that dragons were all different. Some were kinder, while others craved bloodshed. It truly depended.

"I am," she suddenly responded when asked if she were a deep sea dragon, feeling his gaze. "What gave it away?" She mused. K'issuk was the definition of a deep sea dragon, from her darker colours, to the light upon her forehead. Nonetheless, she responded in a light tone, her fangs peeking out as she smiled.

Watching Beollan, her smile fell slightly upon noticing his body movements grow slightly irritated, his attention upon the valley. "It's getting stronger, hm? The connection, I mean." Motioning to his chest, she glanced back to him, falling silent. She admitted, having made such sudden contact with a dragon was perhaps not the wisest of choices, especially given the fact that he seemed to tense.

She had nearly offered an apology, that is, until a soft, abrupt hiss was sounded. It didn't seem angry, simply surprised, to which K'issuk nodded in understanding before turning back to the valley. She listened then, hearing further about how anything was preferable to being in this very valley. She had opened her mouth to speak then, closing it after when he mumbled something about how he doubted she saw his view.

"Believe it or not, I didn't want to come here once upon a time either," she responded, tone growing slightly stern in reply to his comment before softening towards the end. Continuing to stare straight ahead at the valley, she finally broke her gaze to peer at him once more. Studying him, her smile faded altogether at this point.

"No," she said in reply when he spoke of what she might say next. "I'm not here to tell you that it will be okay, or that a bond with a human is unlike any other, because frankly, I don't believe those words." His tone held venom, and whether it was meant as an insult or not, K'issuk continued. "I'm not here to tell you any of that, nor am I here to force you to do anything. It's your own decision. Find the human, don't find the human, it makes no difference to me, but you must know that it will be painful." Advising Beollan of what was to come if he refused the bond, K'issuk continued.

"Despite being against this, you're here. You could have refused, but you didn't. Certainly that speaks for itself, doesn't it?" Despite her words, she maintained a simple tone, speaking to him as if she were speaking to a dear friend. Even her body seemed to loosen when he spoke of having no desire to approach his human, to which she nodded once more before standing as well, mimicking his actions.

"But you're going to," was all she said at the moment, still watching him. "You aren't the first to feel that way, and you won't be the last." A pause. "I know that it must be hard, and I doubt that I understand remotely how you feel, but it will be harder if you refuse. From my experience, approaching is the most difficult part. It gets easier after."

Shaking herself out slightly, her nostrils flared as she exhaled heavily, turning to Beollan. "Would you like me to go with you?"

Aziza Sterling|| Female || 18 || New Rider || M: Ra’d, Noellë, Serikornis

Honestly, Aziza didn’t really know what she was expecting to happen when she had extended her hand. The looming beast before her was no human. Had no experience… with anything humans consider “formal” or “proper” (as far as she knew). Possibly, she thought he would press his nose into her palm? Or something along those lines. But she certainly wasn’t expecting what she received.

Pale gold eyes watched as the humongous being shrugs, lifts a paw, and brings it to her hand. Boy, if she thought she was small before it was a completely understatement! Her hand was miniscule compared to his. It may as well have been a birthmark on his pad with the size difference. It touched her hand in a very awkward “high five” like motion with enough force to knock her backwards. Albeit, rather gently. An “umph” escapes her as her back connects to the ground below, but is unaffected otherwise.

The brown haired lady’s eyes – which had shut due to the expected impact – open to peer up at the dragon. No emotion was held within them (as far as one could see), still trying to figure out what had just happened. Though, a spark seemed to go off at the statement of him dubbing himself “her dragon.” It was barely noticeable to the untrained eye, but it was certainly there. Silence stretches between them for a few seconds following the odd interaction, her mind processes the results as well as his earlier statements.

The young lady giggled lightly with closed eyes, ending the silence – a hand covering her mouth to stifle her laughter. A light tone of blush covers her cheeks as her shoulders bounce, glee and amusement written plainly across her face as words on a page. All of this just… tickled her the right way. He was funny, didn’t care for formal tiles, and actually seemed to feel sorry for spooking the book from her hands. She just couldn’t believe her luck.

I wonder what my family will think of him.

Her eyes flicker open as the laughter mostly dies out, looking into his own cyan ones. “Yes, a mighty one you are. I bet all the females can’t keep their eyes off your magnificent presence,” a few more chuckles escape in between her words.

Pushing herself off the ground, she brushes her dark brown pants free any loose soil and vegetation that may have remained from her tumble. “And you’re quite alright. It’s nothing that won’t fade with time,” her hands come up to open the book once more and inspect its pages. Thankfully, not much damage had been done. Though, its paper would definitely permanently brown in some areas. She turns the book towards him to see.

“As for the… things, worry not about them. They won’t be of much concern now. They were mainly connected to my family’s expectations of me during this event,” the girl’s eyes glance to the side before coming back to the dragon’s own.

The noble-born girl opens her mouth to say something more, only to pause as something catches her eye. Turning her head towards the source, she spies another dragon (around the same size as her own) who was peering down at a young man from a tree behind him. A very. Familiar. Young man. One that appeared to be crying. Noellë.

A hint of anger prickles at her mind, eyes narrowed and watching the two from afar. Was that dragon the cause of his tears? She knew not. Nor why the dragon was near him (even if she had a guess). But one thing was for sure: she was going to find out.

“Excuse me,” her gaze doesn’t tear from Noellë’s form, “It appears that I have to rescue my friend.”

Without another word, Azzy turns and marches over to the much taller human and seemingly feathery dragon. Her small form was likely not very intimidating as she approached, but she hoped that it at least displayed that she meant business.

Her tracks stop in front of the tree both resided at. Her pale gold eyes looking up into the dragon’s own, hardened and seemingly angered but with concern shining as bright as day. A hand comes up to her taller friend’s shoulder, offering some amount of comfort as well as a silent question as to whether or not he was alright.

“Mind telling me why, exactly, my friend is currently crying,” she all but sneers. This may not have been the… best of tones to use in the presence of an unfamiliar dragon, but she cared not. Her friend came first.

Veetabhi Dwivedi

Mentor | F | Mentions: Nakshatra, Belvidere [Ind.], Beollan [Ind.], Kaia & K'issuk [Ind.], Shiro & Teg [ind.]

A look of disgust spread across her dragon's face at her mention of the water dragon below. She, in return, let a smirk spread across her face at Nakshatra’s reaction. Veetabhi let out a laugh, doubling over and rolling onto her side to hug her stomach, making a sort of noise that could only be described as wheezing as her dragon suggested throwing her off the cliff.

Just to tease the Lunar dragon she moved to her stomach and scooted as close to the cliff face as she dared, switching to a sitting position and dangling her legs over the edge. “Let me make that easier for you,” she snickered, before quickly moving away from the open air. In the process, she backed herself into Nak’s side just as he reached out to nudge her with his muzzle.

She knew her dragon’s threats were empty and only wished to play along, though she didn't want to risk herself too much considering she would soon be a mentor to the new riders below. By this point in the day, it seemed like most dragons had been paired with their riders, save for a few, though that would soon be sorted out. She bit the inside of her cheek and furrowed her brow slightly at the view below, recognizing a few faces from around, but some of the riders she had never seen before. Veeta wasn't too keen on trying to form instant friendships with these riders, though she wouldn't mind seeing a familiar face or two and would still make an effort to be polite when the time came.

Her dragon’s voice pulled her back to the present, moving her hands to fold them across her chest she nodded at his words. “Silver linings I suppose, but then we would have to deal with the parents…and a temperamental dragon now down a rider…”. Never had Veetabhi witnessed a dragon killing their rider, though she could assume Nak knew of some instances where it had happened. “I agree, they definitely will be able to. Bless whoever put Kaia and K'issuk in charge,” she spoke.

It seemed as of right now everything had been fine, until she spotted a feathery streak pick up and dragged a rider into the air, disappearing momentarily before she witnessed the rider falling through the air. The young man tumbled, flipping slightly and arms flapping like a bird. “Nak!” she yelped, surely she was going to witness this young rider's death, just as they had talked about only moments before. Not a moment too soon, the dragon had dropped from the sky and saved the rider, though the young man lay panting on the ground. Veetabhi hadn't realized how tense she had grown until she found herself relaxing and leaning back on the Lunar dragon behind her. Crisis averted. She released a pent-up breath and spared a glance in Nakshatra’s direction, “I really thought we were about to lose one there,”.

She draped an arm around her dragon's neck for a bit of support and looked to the sky. Upon witnessing Kaia and K’issuk’s entrance she turned to her dragon, “I don't suppose we should join the fun? Things might be starting soon and we might be of some use.” Despite the Squad leader and Dragon now being in conversation, she figured they should still be around in case the pair were needed.

Noelle Morgenstern
New Rider | Male | 17 | Mentions: Serikornis Ventus, Aziza Sterling, Ryker

Noelle just wasn't having a good time at the moment - it was like his heart seem to beat rapidly, fearing to burst out of his chest. And yet his chest burned like fire and it felt like his lungs were being squeezed as the sensation was traveling up his throat. His breathing was coming out strained as he tried to contain himself, and he sucked in a deep breath to try and steady his beating heart. Gods, what had that old maid called this? An anxiety attack? And he could feel his knee bobbing out of habit something he did when nervous, it seemed he had another episode. How unfortunate, he mused tiredly. He had a sense of lethargy, and he just wanted it to go away - he looked at his vest, to distract himself from his thoughts, and gave a soft sigh as he noticed the small stains of his teardrops on it. Well, he had stopped crying, but it hadn't brought on anything else good. It didn't help the sun was being rather annoying as it was so damn bright, and he shut his eyes to get some semblance of peace.

But that's when he felt a gentle breeze, but it didn't feel like that of the wind. And he opened his eyes - and staring back at him were a pair of dull golden hued ones, and he had to blink in confusion at first, and then he realized : he was looking at a dragon. A real life dragon, not one in the storybooks or myths and legeneds - one that was real and touchable. His green eyes widened in shock, and he could barely move because of his amazement. His dragon was here! He had a dragon, he would be a real Dragon Rider. And that's when he got a dull headache, and he touched his head as he felt it - a small wince of pain coming as he then felt something being built and weaved between the two. And that's when he heard the voice of something in his head, So you are hear. And he frowned and looked around confused, who had said that, he wondered, but then a dawn of realization had come over him. He blinked owlishly, three times as he looked at the dragon with curiosity and tenatively moved forward.

Was that you? he spoke through the link, then he frowned, wait how did I do that? Eh-, he thought, a look of shock coming on his face as he did it yet again. Am I talking to you through my mind? Wait, I heard about this, I thought they weren't serious when they said this would happen when a Bond was formed. This is very interesting! He rambled through the link, the mental fog that had been plauging him, seeming to drift away - why, he had even stood up and given a soft smile. Uh, I'm sorry for crying - you probably don't want a weak rider, I just had a bad morning, he said in the usual soft toned voice of his through the link, though there was a hint of agitation in it at the situation. My name is Noelle Morgenstern, your human, and it's a pleasure to meet you, he said politely, and he gave a slight bow. He then brushed off his clothing, and that's when he felt a hand on his shoulder - he was prepared to brush the hand away but the warmth and comfort he felt detered him, and he realized it was Aziza.

And he gave her a tired smile. He wasn't exactly feeling verbal right now, but it was a way to tell her that he was alright for now and he'd tell her later what was going on. But he had to give a small chuckle at her protectiveness, and he bent down and enwrapped her in a hug, his head gently resting atop hers, hoping this'll satisfy her. This here is my oldest and best friend, she's a bit protective of me, don't mind her, she's always looked out for me - she's like another older sister. He spoke to Serikornis, with a hint of fondness and warmth in his tone.

He then turned to Aziza and motioned to his outfit and gave her a knowing eyebrow. In a way telling her that this was the effect of his mother, and then tugging at her sleeves - like one would do a parent or older silbing, he pointed towards the Storm Dragon that she had forsaken for him. His eyes were pratically beaming and his arms flailing rather excitedly as he looked the dragon, silently telling her that her dragon was cool and looked very badass. He was starting to feel better now that his friend was at his side. And that's when he looked and noticed another friend.

Ryker?

Kaisen : M : New Rider
Dragon: Belv
M: Belv
Kaisen was so startled by the sound of the dragon's laugh he jumped a little. Though he quickly tried to hide the fact by reaching up to his back to scratch an "itch". Purely to make it seem as though he had suddenly gotten a terrible itch that needed to be gotten immediately.
Hearing the dragon's question about himself, he paused. "Myself? Well... where to start," he reached up to tap his chin, squinting at the sky in thought. "I'm the second youngest of 6 children in my family. I'm currently only in contact with one, my little sister." He paused again, wondering if he should share any of his backstory with his family. It was dark, and a tad gruesome. But he was to be paired with this dragon for the rest of his life. So he probably should. Kai took a deep breath before starting.
"I grew up in a family that was rather poor. We were in the lower class, basically peasants. The village we lived in, the lord of the town would randomly select one family from the lower and middle class every 20 years, and gift them a very large sum of money*."
*This is basically like the lottery*
"Well, 2 years ago, my family was the one selected to be gifted the very large sum of money. My parents were willing to share some of it with us kids, but only a small amount to begin. Well... my two oldest brothers did not like that. They felt they deserved more than the smaller amount of money. They believed our parents should have split the money evenly among us kids, each of us getting a large share. After all, in their eyes, parents should sacrifice everything for their kids."
Kai paused to take a deep, shuddering breath. His next words were forced out, each word coming out hesitantly as he struggled to put words to what he had witnessed. "A few weeks passed. I thought they had dropped it and moved on... but I was wrong. Very, very wrong." He paused once again, fighting to keep the tremor from his voice. "One day I came home from school and... and found my parents dead. They had been stabbed to death repeatedly." Kai shuddered, remembering the scene. Blood, everywhere blood. His parents torn bodies, their eyes wide, faces shocked. He took a deep breath before continuing. "All of the money was gone, as were my four older siblings. I haven't seen them since." Kai coughed, ducking his head to hide the tears as he quickly swiped them away.

(sorry if this was a little dark, I've been listening to a lot of murder mystery stories and was inspired)

Shiro Bozzeli

New rider | M | Mentions: Teg

“Dull?” Shiro asked in disbelief, mock hurt lacing his voice as he put a hand to his chest, “I am far from dull my friend, I just don't particularly like being dropped without warning,”

Coughing, Shiro muffled a little laugh at the Air Class dragon's imitation of him, “That's a cute dance buddy,” As his dragon began to circle him he arched an eyebrow as the air dragon began to speak. Shiro suddenly shook his shoulders and arms to “loosen up” before jumping out and tapping his dragon before yelling ‘Tag’ and turning to sprint away.

He didn't even give the dragon to finish his list of games they could play, and skipped over a few attempted swats at him made by the Air Dragon. Just narrowly avoiding his tail as he sprinted. One had clipped his shoulder, causing him to stumble slightly before he continued. Shiro didn't know where he was running or how on earth he would even be able to outpace the dragon, but that wasn't stopping him.

Through the bond, Shiro could hear his dragon speaking, something about “females” and “taking charge” though he couldn't hear it too well over the pounding of his head and rushing of breaths as he ran. He began to veer into the thick of the crowd, knowing his dragon would not be able to chase him without trampling many humans, hoping it would slow him down and give him some time to put space between him and the dragon. Shiro could only hope he could keep him at bay long enough to have an impressive round. Offering him a bit of a moral boost after getting called boring earlier. Perhaps this would change his dragon’s mind. Or annoy him. Either way, it was too late for him to correct his decision.

————

(Just imagine this happening after the scene above…I wanted to respond to the remaining part of the post but I didn't know how to include this after I had Shiro run away :’) The writer's block is kicking me)

As his dragon shook out a few loose feathers Shiro dropped to a knee before picking one up. He was immediately fascinated by it, turning it over in his hand before slipping one into his pocket. Studying dragons for so long he was trying not to fanboy over the whole 'just bonded with a real dragon' thing.

After the air dragon shot a look toward the nearby water dragon, which Shiro had missed the little encounter or reaction his dragon had had to the female off to the side. He was surprised to find the dragon introducing himself. Shiro was rattled as ‘Tęgomir Venoušek’ grabbed his hand to shake it. “It’s Shiro, Shiro Bozzeli, the name literally meaning the fourth son, because my parents are so creative,

Sarcasm laced his voice towards the end of his introduction. He didn't not like his name, just he wished his parents had put thought into it much like his younger brothers. Kenji, who had been named after a long-deceased, yet important relative. He just happened to be the fourth born, and suddenly naming him after that had sounded good enough to his parents. Removing his hand from the dragon's grasp, Shiro took a claw in his hand and gave it a shake in return.

Ryker Sallow
New Rider | M | 18| Mentions: Nava, Noellë, Aziza, Serikornus (dir), Cryosphere, those nearby (ind)

The sensation of involuntary movement came at a moment Ryker had been daydreaming. Though his glazed gaze had been directed towards the pretty female wyvern-like dragon, he was taken by surprise when his body was suddenly a lot closer to the dragon than he intended it to be. She'd moved him. For what reason? Did she find people intriguing? Perhaps wanted a better look at him? He was taken by surprise when she nudged her head into his for the briefest moment.

Pain blossomed from the origin of the gentle impact, though not from the force, as the dragon had been very careful, but some odd burning sensation. It flowed through his head down his neck and throughout his body. Every muscle burned, every bone ached, every nerve ending was on fire, and every cell screamed in agony. He wanted to scream, cry, beg for this creature to take back whatever it had done.

At least, that's what he processed for the briefest amount of time. It must have been a millionth of a second, not even enough time for him to release the breath he had just drawn. Then, the pain was gone. He felt oddly... fuzzy? As if his entire body had lost blood circulation but was nearly back to how it had been. It was the oddest sensation. Were all bonds like this? Surely not, or somebody would have warned him.

He drew in a sharp breath. A bond. That was a bond. He had just bonded... and with this stunning creature. His heart picked up a pace even faster than before, an act he'd thought not physically possible. In fact, he took a couple deep breaths to slow it down a bit, as it had picked up a rather concerning pace. He wanted to shout to the heavens about what had just happened, though his dragon seemed to find the encounter far less remarkable, and she'd continued her previous interaction. She had tucked him gently under her wing, which he found quite endearing. He already loved her, though perhaps he was getting a bit ahead of himself with that...

Ryker glanced around for somebody familiar, who did he know here that he could brag to about his bond? Noellë! Ryker's close childhood friend was nearby. Platinum hair shining in the sun in the kind of way one would expect bleached silk to shimmer. The neat pony tail swayed ever so gently in the light breeze, a dark green bow tying it back. A shade of green that did compliment Noellë's natural palette, being such a lovely royal green, but it paled in comparison to the man's pale hair. It couldn't be helped, any hair ornament simply wasn't enough compared to hair designed by hand by the heavens. Noellë really was a beautiful man, and a great friend, at that.

Ryker wrinkled his nose at the outfit, though, knowing the message of wealth plastered about every aspect of it would surely be something Noellë disliked with a passion. Attractive as the outfit was, Ryker couldn't bring himself to enjoy it knowing that fact.

Yet, Noellë was looking upset. Ryker was contemplating whether he should go over and make a clumsy attempt at consoling his friend when a dragon landed in front of the pale-haired man. The feathery creature was most definitely an air dragon, and Ryker let out a little sigh as he admired the creature. How amazing it was they were both bonded in the same year! This was amazing! Ryker now got to train with his closest friend. The man found himself watching the first interaction between the new bonded pair with fascination. They seemed to be holding a mental conversation, which caused Ryker to glance up at the crystal female briefly. Were they supposed to be talking? There was plenty time later, but was there, perhaps, rules for how to behave immediately after a bond?

Noticing Aziza approaching the two, Ryker was slightly puzzled. Had she not figured out it was a bonding moment? Well, in any matter, Noellë didn't seem to mind her approach, so Ryker decided he'd join the group. After all, they weren't too far away, and he figured his dragon would be fine if he took a few steps away from her, even though he was confused as to what they were meant to be doing right now.

"I'm just gonna go greet to some friends, I'll be right over there. Uh.. my name is Ryker, by the way!" He said this to the female crystal dragon as he stood up and eased his way from under the little wing shelter she'd made. He waved to her over his shoulder as he made his way towards his little group of friends and their new bonded dragons.

"How goes your day, my love?" Ryker said in a teasing greeting as he approached Noellë. This was his sort of... love language with his friends. If he got a blush or a punch, he didn't care either way, it was amusing. His female friends often took him seriously, and he'd gotten into many a binds due to his teasing words, but he wasn't stopping anytime soon. Besides, Noellë got him, and the beautiful green eyed man often gave Ryker the same energy.

"It's crazy we all got bonded the same year!" Ryker said enthusiastically, running a hand through his sun bleached, dark hair. "That's my partner over there," the man said excitedly, pointing towards the pink female that was a little distance away. "She's a looker, and a rare one! I'm so excited!" If giddiness could be embodied, it would be Ryker at this very moment. Often serious and intelligent sounding, that front fell to shambles in the presence of people around whom he was comfortable.
