Cain Richards/17/Male/Eagle & Smilodon/Mentions: Heather, Open
================================================
Cain had practically thrown himself into the forest, alternating between racing through the undergrowth and jumping across tree branches. Well, more like clinging to and kicking off from tree trunks, because there weren't a lot of branches that could support both his weight and the force with which he hit. Turns out trying to pinball off of every availible surface like a feral toddler with access to explosives ends up leaving a patch of limb-less trunks.
~
Cain wasn't exactly paying attention to where he was going, though. He had to move and the forest was more of a home to him than his house. Which was actually really depressing, but that didn't matter right now. The point is, he hadn't noticed that he was approaching one of the forest's many edges.
~
His hands latched around the base of a thick branch and the trunk of a rough-barked pine tree as his chest hit the center with a satisfying thunk. A good number of needles fell from the branches as the tree shook with the force of his collision. Honestly, Cain couldn't stop grinning if he tried. Gym was alright, got his blood moving, but it just wasn't the same. There was something about throwing yourself off of high places without any form of safety equipment and/or supervision that made Cain feel alive.
~
As he prepared to fling himself at yet another solid object with as much speed as possible, Cain chanced to look down. At the girl he'd just covered in pine needles. Oops.
"Shit. Sorry!"
He swung himself outwards around the branch he was gripping, so that both of his feet were planted on the trunk while his body was canted outwards, one arm hanging absently in the air. Wasn't she one of the girls who'd been sitting at the table when Sofie did her self-important bitch routine? Yeah, she'd thanked him for not acting like an asshole or something like that. Heather-Something. What exactly was she doing out here? It didn't look like she was gonna go for a hike or something, since she had just been standing there staring at a tree before he noticed her. Today was just not his day, huh? First with the twitchy tension all day, then Sofie's whole thing, now this.
