Talon Hollard // 17 // Male // Teleportation/Foresight // Mentions: Kalen (Direct), Maximillian (Direct) - - Talon felt his stomach rumble, once again reminding him of his hunger. Yet despite that, he merely lifted his chin and slyly stabbed a strawberry with his fork before bringing it to his lips. There, he played coy before snatching the piece of fruit of the edge of the fork before eating. He swallowed it then grinned, leaning on his wrist as he looked at Kalen. “Oh, I just love it. It suits you. Like ruggedly handsome, y'know?" The boy winked with a slight chuckle. He continued to eat some more, but at a slow and agonizing pace. As he did though, he followed Kalen’s glance across the room as a figure entered the cafeteria. A tall boy with wings. Ah, so he WASN’T awake. Talon watched as Layne crossed the room, though he silently noted Kalen’s expression towards the boy. Curiously, he narrowed his eyes, then looked away, keeping it in his mind. He ate awhile longer, silently observing which was a little strange, but every now and then he just needed to take everything. Afterall, how else was he supposed to supply everyone with their tea? Mr. Kalen, Fire leader, isn’t a big fan of Layne. Nice to know, Talon quietly thought to himself. Though as he did, he thrummed his fingers against the table. Eventually, his green and brown eyes were brought back to Kalen and studied him closely as he stared out the windows, looking onward to the forest. He glanced between Kalen and the mysterious forest that lay just out of reach, and he smiled, leaning forward, moving so, agonizingly slow just like his eat. “I know what’s out there~” Talon spoke in a sing-song voice. He smiled a toothy grin, looking deep into Kalen’s eyes. “And I know they’d eat you alive.” he hissed, though only playfully. He was lying. And maybe Kalen knew that. But just by looking at him, studying the way the boy gazed longingly out of the window, and the wonder in his eyes. Talon may not be the best at school work or… really anything else. But he knew how curious the boy was. He couldn’t deny it himself either. Talon was equally as curious of what lay in the woods beyond. Honestly, in any other circumstance, he couldn’t care less about what was beyond. But the only rule said not to go out beyond… I mean, they’re just ASKING for it! Talon hadn’t built up the strength to break the rule… yet. It was on his to-do list. But the school had taken a few precautions to prevent him from doing so. It was only a matter of time though. Suddenly, another familiar figure caught Talon’s eyes. He turned as Max walked into the cafeteria and began to work on some school work. Just for a moment, Talon grinned and narrowed his eyes, tipping his head off to the side. Like with Kalen, he studied Max for a few minutes, thrumming his fingers against the table as he mulled over his thoughts. Two targets in one day. I consider myself lucky. Talon swerved his head to Kalen and gave a small wink before he stood up. “I’ve got someone to talk to but… I think they’re hiding something out there,” He whispered to Kalen slowly,” They know something.” As to who ‘they’ were… that was up to Kalen’s paranoia. After his daily insert of chaos, Talon grabbed what was left of his food and moved slyly to the table where Max had been working at for some time. The boy paused in front of him, tipping his head to the side, and watched him for a moment, maybe a bit very obviously, before he slowly slinked down into the seat across from him. Silent. He was silent. Just for a few moments. He took time to admire Max’s work ethic. He himself could never put in a fraction of the effort. “Hey, Maxy~” Talon grinned, laying his head on his hand. The boy took another bite of a strawberry, twirling it on the tip of the fork before he did. “Kalen’s still looking out the window… though, y’know, I don’t blame him. I wonder what’s out there too sometimes,” Talon started, though he looked down at the work Max was studying. Already, upon first glance, none of it made much sense to him. Though why would it. “For someone so cute, you’re really smart. Not saying smart people can’t be cute. I mean, look at me.” He joked in a flirtatious way. His eyes trailed up to the boy’s curls, and he could only continue to smile, pushing to see how flustered he would get. Edited at April 9, 2024 08:42 PM by ScardeyKat

Finn Malcolm | 16 | Male | Illusion | House of Star | M: Alex, Liam Finn had always liked sports. Not actively playing them, rather preferring to watch live games on television, or watch his classmates play. he wasn't very athletic either, but despite that, he wanted to try out for a team. He made his way through the crowds towards the grey folding table that had multiple large stacks of information and sheets on it. He got to the table alongside Alex and Liam, and scanned over the pages briefly, before resting his gaze on two papers. Volleyball and Tennis. He had 0 experience with both, but despite that wanted to try them out. He saw them as simpler sports, requiring only running around near a net and hitting a ball. Of course, there was more to it, but he was too into the idea to care much. He reached for the volleyball one after staring hard at the crisp white papers for a while and read over the small black print. What caught his eye the most was the image of volleyball players on the front cover of the packet. The game truly did look like it was a good time. -- After reading over and grabbing the tennis paper, and even a baseball one, he settled on his original choice of sport. He grabbed one of the blue ink pens from the cup on the corner of the table and flipped to the part that required filling out. He scribbled down info, like his name, age, and even his dorm number. After completing the packet, he set it down in the small pile of other finished forms, before glancing over to see what his brother was up to. Liam was still staring blankly at the packets, either spaced out, or contemplating his choice. He glanced over at Alex, though she was doing nothing interesting either, so he quickly said "I'm going to go get more chocolate." and walked off towards the vending machines. "Get me one too!" He heard Liam call from behind him. -- He arrived at the vending machines and looked closely at the numbers and letters before pressing the required buttons. After buying the two extra chocolate bars, and another large Snickers for Alex, he made his way back towards the cafeteria, arriving and handing over the goods. "So, what did you guys choose?" He asked after handing over the candy. --- Liam Malcolm | 16 | Male | Summoning | House of Star | M: Alex, Finn Liam, unlike his twin, had never cared much about sports. He'd watch a game or two with his brother and his friends, or watch the boys play outside when he was bored. There was only one sport that truly piqued his interest. As they made their way over to the table, he crossed his fingers and prayed that his sport would be there. Or at least something he could actually do. He arrived at the table and scanned the contents, his eyes passing fleetingly over piles of basketball forms, and football, and softball alike. Finally, after what felt like half an hour of scouring the pages for a sport he liked, he found it. Water sports. Specifically, diving. He reached over his brother, who was scribbling away on his own form, and picked up the paper, reading the content thoroughly. -- He, like Finn, filled out his form as well. Name, age, gender, the whole shibang. After re-reading the front of the packet and the tips on the inside, he put it in the pile of completed forms. He kinda just stared at the pile of papers for a while after that, wondering and worrying if he had made the right choice. He decided to double check the other available sports, pondering over whether he should have chosen baseball, or soccer. After he made his final decision, which was his original one, he looked up right as Finn claimed to be getting food from the vending machine. He called after his brother to retrieve him a bar as well, before leaning against the wall next to the table and waiting as Alex filled out her form. -- After a while, Finn returned, carying a second serving of snacks for everyone. He happily accepted his chocolate and dug in, savoring the taste. When questioned about his choice, he hesitated, as Finn wasn't one for water sports, but admitted "Diving.." in a meek manner. Finn simply nodded and turned to ask Alex again. - Nope. I don't know what half these words are. And I don't care. My attempt at more words. Edited at April 9, 2024 09:47 PM by Austan vindar

Alexandra Wolff || 15 || Fire || Female || Shifter || M: Liam, Finn - I dig around for the form I want. Finding under the lacrosse paperwork, I start to filling it out. Name, age, gender, uniform size. Typical stuff. I also fill out uniform size for my different shifts, too. I learned those a long time ago. Shoe size, dorm, last health check up. One my question. Do you have experience. I check the 'A little' box. Walking over, I hear what the others are doing. "What are you doing Alex?" Asks Finn. I take a bite of the Snickers Finn gave me. I say thanks and look at the time. 7:14. "Cross Country." I reply simply. Edited at April 10, 2024 03:09 PM by Bobcat

Layne Marie // 17 // Star Lead // Winged/Respawn // M: Liam, Finn, Alex (dir.) Max, Talon, Kalen (ind.) Talon was right to assume that Layne was already awake. The young man had a tendency to wake up rather early and had done so for the entirety of their stay together. It was just what he usually did. The Star Student lead had a routine and he followed that routine religiously. However, he missed entirely the look that had been thrown his direction when bursting into the cafeteria from the other direction. His golden wings folded neatly against his back, dropping white, black and golden feathers. Only a few of them, though. He had recently preened the large wings, thus part of why he was up so early. As he glanced around, he spotted a couple of other older students. Talon, his roommate talking to Maximillian. Layne's sapphire eyes flicked away from the student, a small twinge in his chest. Granted, yes, he was a student lead but at the same time... he wasn't near as smart as Maximillian was. It was perhaps a little point of envy. Either way, he simply snagged a plate and sat down at the first table he had spotted. A couple of other star students and a fire student sat together, talking about sports. "Cross country always sounded like fun," Layne admitted, setting the plate onto the table itself. "Running takes a lot of energy though, for me. What's it like though, being able to just... run?"

Alexandra Wolff || 15 || Fire || Female || Shifter || M: Liam, Finn, Layne - "It's, it's like freedom. The wind trough your hair, or fur, if I shift. Nothing is holding you down. But you know that, you can fly." I say. I take another bite of my snack and wonder if I should get something for Layne. Nah, he has breakfast to eat. "It is the one time I enjoy wearing glasses. Keeps the wind out of my eyes." I fiddle with a pencil. Why can I not sit still. All this talk of running makes me not want to wait until after school when I might meat my team. If I am accepted.

Finn Malcolm | 16 | Male | Illusion | House of Star | M: Alex, Liam, Layne Finn watches Alex and the lead of his house converse. After a moment, and Alex's peculiar comment on 'freedom', he turns to Liam to do what he does best. Annoy his brother. "Heyyy Liiiiammm~" He says, smiling at his brother. The shorter kid is standing behind him, and Finn rolls his head back to look at him upside down. "So, were you ever gonna tell me about the k-" Finn was saying, before Liam cut him off. "Shut up!" Liam shouted, slamming himself down into the seat next to his twin. "You. Tell. No. One." Liam snarled before biting his bar of chocolate. --- Liam Malcolm | 16 | Male | Summoning | House of Star | M: Alex, Finn, Layne "Uhg. Fine." Finn said, leaning back. Liam looked over at Alex and the lead of his house, staring for a second, then looking back. "when'd that guy get here?" Liam asked curiously. "I dunno." Finn said resting his hand on his fist. "Alex! We have to leave soon." Liam called over to Alex after a moment of thought. - XD My creativity is dead

Layne Marie // 17 // M // Star Lead // Respawn/Winged // M: Finn, Liam, Alex The way Alex described running definitely sounded like flying to him, but with more... effort. In a good way though, it was less of just trying to engage your core and stay still for the aerodynamics, and a lot more of trying to do everything else with all of your body to just go as long as you could. Before he could really reply, however, the twins said something about having to leave quickly for something. Whatever it was... he missed it before the younger students began squabbling over some off-hand mention. "If he doesn't feel comfortable talking about it, he really doesn't have to," Layne offered briefly, turning back to his plate. But the sudden sneezing really didn't make much sense either. Allergies didn't... work like that. "You might want to look at the nurse's office, I don't think that's allergies." Allergies were slower and much more diverse. Sneezing? Only sometimes. Allergies usually made their way in puffy, watery, red eyes, sniffling, congestion, even rashes and hives. Not... sneezing bursts. It was mostly concern that prompted Layne to urge the younger student to head to the nurse's office. That wasn't normal and couldn't be healthy. "It's only 7:30 though, most classes don't start until 8:30," Layne mused as well, mostly to see what reactions he would get. "The ones that start earlier are usually more specific for older students."
