Sparrowhawk/M/Collie/German Shepherd/M: Juniper "Nice name!" He flipped back over, and wagged his tail at the deer, smiling in his wolfish way. "It's a nice place. I miss my old den, but it got flooded. I nearly drowned. I'd much rather live here, than be dead there." He pawed the ground, then added, "Plus, my mate and my pups are here. I could never leave them, or my brother. Ace. He's a bit much, and obviously... um, doesn't understand how nice you are, but he's my family. I like him." His ears flicked back as he remembered he and Ace's fights. Hopefully those were over.

Nightingale - F - Wolf - M: Sparrowhawk, Tanager, Osprey - I finish the sorting and check on my pups. "Hi Tanager, hi Osprey." Licking them each in turn. Osprey yawned. My pups... Our pups. Mine and Sparrowhawk's. Ours forever. I go outside the den to find fresh bedding.

Juniper | M | Chital Deer | M: Sparrowhawk Juniper nodded as he listened to Sparrowhawk's story. "Yeah... I lost my home too. It was a beautiful forest, full of life and so many different animals. Birds, wolves, rabbits, even scaly vines like Pandora. But when the disaster came, there were fires... and now it's all gone. This is a nice place, though. I think I'll like it here once I get used to it."

Sparrowhawk/M/Collie/German Shepherd/M: Juniper "That sounds... really nice!" He said. He wished that he'd have seen this forest. He had mostly stayed right around his den, or gone to the city to scavenge. "Are you gonna stay out here?" He asked, sitting down and licking his pure white paw as he waited for the deer's response. It would probably be better if the deer stayed here, but he would protect it if it went to the camp. What was its name? Oh yeah, Juniper. He liked Juniper. He wouldn't eat him.

Nightingale - F - Wolf - M: Sparrowhawk, Tanager, Osprey - I walk outside. Should I hunt. No, the deer is here. I go back in and carry Tanager out into the sun, then Ospery. I stand over then. Laying toughter. Tanager is so red. No one will hurt them on my watch.

Pandora | F | Ball Python | M: Nightingale Pandora watched Nightingale carry the pups outside. They looked strong and healthy. She could somewhat remember when she had hatched, and immediately had to leave her mother and siblings to find her own home. Where are they now? She wondered. It had been so many years since she last saw them.

Blaze/Fennec/Female m: Selene I tilt my head, turning around to look at her. I give a brisk nod, before trotting back down to the lake. I look down at the water, orange in the rising sunset. My reflection stared back. In my own opinion, it didn’t look half as bloody as it tends to be after a hunt. Maybe I was losing my touch? No, no, that couldn’t be right. I gave my body a quick shake, fluffing out my pelt before gliding into the water. It was cold, but not as cold as the average night in the desert, compared to one of those nights, it was delightfully warm. My brother would’ve loved this. My ears lower in sadness at the thought of this. My brother…I had not seen him since…the incident. Was he dead? Did he escape and believe I had given up on him? I sunk further into the water, my head entirely submerged. I blinked open my eyes and looked around, and saw a clam embedded in the muck. There were a few pieces of upright waste around too, but nature was slowly but surely reclaiming itself. Every one of those horrid creatures deserved it. Especially for what they did to my family… Even in the lake, I felt my eyes slightly watering. I blinked again, dived down to the riverbed and grabbed the clam between my jaws. I broke the surface, gasping for breath, Then paddled to the lakeshore, looking for Selene. There she was! I thought of the thing she said. “Juniper is definitely scared of you now.” “Who cares if the deer is scared of me?” I thought. “I certainly don’t. It will be better, he won’t try to oppose me.” And besides, it will probably be good to have an emergency food source lying around, especially when winter comes. The thought of winter once again stirred the memories of my family. Perhaps I should go search for them? Surely, the earth has reclaimed all uprights and their hideous dens, so… No. I can’t. My loyalties lie within the pack. The pack comes before anything else. I trotted toward Selene, and placed the clam down near her, before sitting back up on my haunches, my brush of a tail waving behind me, masking my thoughts. “I found this while swimming.” I began, “We don’t really have these in the desert. I tried one once but didn’t really like it. You can have it,” I momentarily hesitate, “If you want it.” Edited at May 4, 2024 01:54 AM by Embershed

Selene | F | Red Fox | M: Blaze ~+~ "Oh it looks... different. What is it?" I ask, poking it with my paws. "Some kind of shell...?" I see something move inside and leap back. "What is that?" I'd never seen anything like that in the city. I saw Hawk come and stare at the... thing. I pick him up and put him down next to me. "You already has breakfast." I tell him sternly, but warmly too. "This is Hawk" I tell Blaze, "Named after Sparrow. Hawk, this is Blaze." Hawk looked up at her with wide eyes and went and tackled her paws.
