Starless stopped with the rest of them before eating a rabbit. Taking the basket of herbs of his back, he laid it down beside him before he saw Lou come back in with a pit viper. The pup dropped it before suddenly lying down. Starless pinned his ears before going through his herbs. Once he got to the herb, he took it over to the pup to look at the wound. It wasn't deep thankfully, so he could get the venom out easier. "Hold still while I get the venom out." He said to Louvel while putting the herbs onto the pup's shoulder.

Shadow heard the gunshot and immediately headed that way. There was a boy and an actual hunter but Shadow ignored the boy before leaping at the hunter. He swung his gun around but it was too late. Shadow's jaws was on the man's shoulder, digging in deeply making him shout in pain and drop the gun. The boy was shielding away trying to make himself small. The man was now on his back and trying to make sure Shadow's fangs didn't go into his throat. Shadow growled at him before barking at Dark Knight, "Get Seya to safety! Then chase the boy off. I'll let the hunter up once the boy is gone."

Knight heard the wolf he couldn't see them due to the blood in his eyes and the pain in his ear was blinding Knight nodded to the wolf and headed toward Seya he picked her up on his back and carried her to a cave and ran back to the wolf on his way he saw his reflection in a puddle, he was missing half of his right ear he dipped his head in the puddle and felt almost instant relief he didn't want to take his head out but he had to he ran and ran back to the spot he recognized the wolf as Shadow and ran to the boy. the boy dropped his gun and ran screaming to a car. in the car, two more grown men come out with guns. Knight charges at the one on the left and bites at his head Knight manages to bite his cheek the man pushes him off and goes back in the car. Knight then turns to attack the other one but he is already running. Toward the cave Knight left Seya in

Once Shadow saw the boy run, he let him go before seeing another hunter running towards a cave. A rain of glass shards suddenly came out of the trees, raining over the hunter and the car that the rest was in. Screams went up from the humans before the humans started running towards the town. Cackles came from the trees as the foxes followed the humans to make sure they stayed gone.

Knight covered his head as the glass rained down he heard the foxes and let out a sigh of relief he barks a thank you into the trees and one to Shadow as well. Knight runs to the cave he left Seya in he looked her up and down "I'm so glad you're ok" he then nuzzles into Seya's fur he looks at Seya's fur he left some of the blood from his now swollen ear "sorry" he whimpers

Knight winced a little as Seya licked his ear "It's ok," he says "at least your safe" he looks at a puddle to his left his reflection looks weird now that his right ear is just a stub "at least they didn't shoot lower" he says to Seya if the bullet had gone through his head he would be dead

Knight puts his paw on Seya's "it's not your fault," he says "it's the hunter's, you didn't hurt me, did you? no, you didn't so it isn't your fault." Knight licked her head "I'll be ok it isn't that bad of an injury, it could have been worse"
