The first thing Cero notice when he stepped out of his car that morning was the amount of students congregating in the the parking lot, the second thing was how much colder it was than he initially thought it would be. An overcast morning in September, he supposed it should have been expected, much to his own annoyance as he brought his hands to bare arms to rub some warmth back into them. It was a new school year and he was already getting off on the wrong foot, hoping to whatever lower powers available that the day would progressively warm up like it had been the previous days before. Brows furrowed as he slammed his car door closed Cero finally fully took in the scene in the parking lot. Students where clustered in small groups, whispering amongst themselves about the devil knows what. It would have been one thing if it was the usual ruckus that was typical to college campuses, but this felt difficult. Hushed and secretive. If Cero didn't know better head would have suspected foul play at foot. A truly perfect way to start the semester, just great. Gritting his teeth, he brushed his way past the gossiping students, paying no attention to what was being discussed.
Thr quad wasn't any better. Just a larger amount of students clustered together, doing the exact same thing they had been in the student parking lot. It was even worse at the main building. A large amount of students were blocking the main entrance. It would have been one thing if didn't directly affect him, but of course Cero's first class was in that damned building. He shivered as he made his way to back of the crowd, debating on how the hell he was going to get through the enamored crowd.
" I really hope this doesn't take so long... my class starts soon... Are you sure it's- ah, they're not a demon? Maybe it's just a mistake on the school's behalf?" A girl's barely whispered voice had caught his attention just as he was about to shove his way through the crowd, clearly just trying to gossip to the friend next to her.
Grabbing her shoulder, Cero roughly spinned her around with a hiss to his voice, " Do you know what the hell is going on here?"
The poor girl squeaked, looking up at him with a shaky voice, " I don't know! The school's supposedly starting an exchange program or something. Apparently the exchange student isn't a demon or something...."
Cussing under his breathe, Cero pushed the girl to the side as he forced his way through the crowd. An exchange student. That's what got everyone so worked up this morning. A stupid exchange student. Granted, if the rumors were true, this would be the first non demon student attending the college. But an exchange student causing this much trouble on the first day of school? What a nightmare. Hell, he was really regretting his outfit now as he pushed through through the crowd. His black sleeveless turtleneck was doing nothing to keep the chill off, but out of all of the things he was glad he brought today was his heeled boots. Nothing got someone to move faster than a swift stomp to the foot.
When Cero had finally made his way into the school building, he could only hold back a groan at the crowded halls. It wasn't as bad as it was at the frint entrance, but still enough to be a hassle. Dusting off his black jeans and fixing his jewelry, Cero found himself navigating the crowd yet again. He was going to late like this. The last thing he needed now was something to push him over the edge.
