MidnightXHunters, if you're talking about Minecraft, you can talk about Minecraft, lol. Just not pet / animal simulator games.

But if you're taking a self-made skin and drawing it in a completely different way it's fine.

Ok, imma have to make it look nicer, but I can probably send it to a mod tomorrow, if not in a few days.

Ok its my player skin, (self made) (if you couldn't tell the came is made up of squares, not saying the name) its just going to be rendered in a way that it doesn't have any resemblance to said game

If you're unsure, you can probably DM one of the mods with the image/the characters' info.

MidnightXHunters, if it's a fandom character then no. But if it's just a character you use on another game, don't see why it would matter.

People probably won't know what game the character even originated from

Should I just make my banner monstera? I don't know what else to do that'll fit my theme...

Well I already have the original character, I just don't know if I can make it my profile picture, given proper credits, without it getting taken down.

Probably not a good idea.

@ any mod, is it ok if my original character comes from another game but is not in the same style as that said game?

Knowing that Toothless is basically someone's axolotl OC is enough to make me smile some days.

It's a cool OC just the wires from it's mouth creeped me out at first. Still cool though

Ah, sorry. The brown canine Oc looks like they have axolotl frills along their forehead/eyebrow area.

I've noticed that some of the newer players don't know how a Gen Check on WolfPlay is performed, and it can get pretty complicated to explain with just words, so I've made a step by step tutorial along with pictures to help you guys learn how to do this!

Simple Gen Check (Shorter Lines - 1-2 Pages):

Step 1: Go to your wolf's page and open the bloodline tab. For this example I will be using my deceased wolf, Rylan's, bloodlines.

Step 2: Now, go through the lines one by one and mark them (In your mind or literally). Start with "Lone Wolf", this will be your first line. Since lone wolves don't actually exist, and the great-grandparents are all lone wolves, this does not count as a generation. Ignore these or cross them out.

Step 3: Now take a look at the grandparents. They are both children of Lone Wolves. This makes them the first generation of wolves (G1). Mark G1 Ery and Wolf 651 as G1. Rylan's other set of grandparents are Lone Wolves and as such, they don't contribute to the line.

Step 4: You're almost done! Now look at his parents, they would be the next generation down. Queen Jo is 2nd Gen while Zephyr L. Mercy is 1st Gen. Since we are going by lines, this doesn't matter all that much. They come after G1 so mark these as G2.
2020-01-27-LI-3.jpg
Step 5: Now that we've classified all of Rylan's ancestors we can now determine his generation. Because he is the offspring of 2nd generation parents, Rylan is 3rd generation AKA a G3 wolf.

Complicated Gen Check (Long Lines 3+ Pages)

Step 1: Go to your wolf's page and open the bloodline tab. For this example I will be using my deceased wolf, Loki's, bloodlines.

Step 2: Okay, since this line is several pages, we're going to work backward, starting with Loki. If you'd like you may work through the check normally, but I find it easier to go backward in longer lines. Loki will be thought of as G1 for now.

Step 3: Since we're going backward we're going to mark Loki's parents as G2. Remember: We are going backward, Loki's parents obviously are not actually 2nd generation.

Step 4: Continue to mark each line accordingly until you reach the end of the first page.

Step 5: Now that we've marked Loki's ancestors on the first-page let's move on to his great grandparents' ancestors. Since Paris has no parents, let's take a look at the ones who do. (This is where it gets a bit messy...)

Step 6:
Now that we have these all lined up neatly, we can cross out the next 3 lines. These are lines G5, G6, and G7, in that order. These 3 lines can be crossed out in every wolf's bloodline regardless of lone wolves or generation. To save space I'm only going to show one picture as an example.
Screenshot-15-LI.jpg
Step 7: Repeat step 6. Lay out each wolf's bloodline and cross out the overlapping lines until one wolf's lineage remains. You will now have a number on the very last line. If you counted and did this check correctly, this will be your wolf's current generation number. Loki's generation goes back way farther than visually possible to record.

*These longer checks typically aren't practical unless you're checking for inbreeding. I, personally, don't care how many generations down a wolf is, as it doesn't affect the quality of a pup, but some people just want designer wolves. As a rule of thumb, the lower gen, the better :)
