Before I go off on my rant/tangent about my hatred for rebooting TV shows ( or the rare reboot movies) what I consider a "bad " reboot, is when they take away 80-90% of the original content and keep about 10% ( essentially names maybe looks) and expect the original fans to still enjoy it. ( do note I consider a remake different than a reboot) now off to my complaining. Now don't get me wrong some reboots are actually ok but more often than not, I watch it or see the trailer/add and I think "well they ruined that show, better find my original DVDs for that " just about every reboot I see they've taken away over half of the original content and made it everything i dispise , while having constant adult jokes in it . Like I get it's mainly for money and some higher up though " hey people liked this back then let's reboot it " but in that process the show loses what made it great, by someone in charge of said show wanting to put their own spin on it , so it's "different than the original, it's better " but ITS NOT! . I understand the person wanting to put their own spin to make it different or because they're felt connected to that character in the show, but by doing that it ruins so much of the character and by default show. There was a reason people enjoyed it the first time. If they wanted to tell their own stories , I get that but make new characters for that story you'll like to tell. Don't use characters that people once enjoyed and expect it to go over well, because you've changed 90% of those characters. sady there are quite a few shows that have been "rebooted " and from someone who loves the original series of some of them, I feel enraged that they did that, like I want to cry for the fact that it actually got made in the first place and almost embarrassed about liking the original show in general because of the stupid reboot.
to summarize everything, why can't people just make original shows instead of rebooting older shows and ruining the great original series. so you made it to the end congrats you've read though about 350 words of my complaints

Dude yeah, there's so many shows that got rebooted and they're just garbage. They did Will and Grace so dirty. 😤

Glad you had place to get it out, I was unhappy when they turned one of my childhood movies into a series for 10 year old girls, not saying that girls that age don't deserve shows dedicated to them, but the way they did it (I saw only trailer) but it was enough to know they brok the MAIN point of the original movie which was. "Horse Maybe-You_Know-The_Name does not allow anyone to ride on him, he is free and other deep methaporical stuff and you can literally witness that in original where the human who saved his life was only allowed on him for a needed period of time and afterwars it was a no go despite them having deep connection of saving each others lives" well in new series for kids that very horse allowed a 12 year old he does not know to ride him cause he cannot save his herd on his own and thus this random child is perfect helper and yeah....Now I ranted too...opsiee ----- Sorry to see it is multiple for you, keep enjoying original and reboots sadly are, as you guessed, supposed to be money-suckers and not anything meaningful-or that is what modern film making makes it to be. I have seen some shows get those in last year and I was not that connected to originals, but still felt pang of emphaty for all the fans cause what they did to legacy was really miserable

Aha! Someone who feels the same as I do about a certain wild mustang stallion ;D I hate the new movie/show, mainly bc that original movie means a lot to my family as my mom's first horse dies the exact day it was released into theaters way back in 2001, so the new junk brings tears to my eyes(and not in a good way)
