Kyril Drakos

Male | 18 | Human | Prince

Sexuality:

Bisexual

Role/Occupation:

Prince of the Royal Family

Captain of the Royal Milita

Appearance:

Kyril is much taller than the average man. The male stands at an astounding 6'4". His physique is toned and sculpted, due to his training in the Royal Milita. Since he lives in the cold Kingdom of Luroth, his complexion is a warm beige. The man has sharp and fierce facial structure. High cheek bones, sharp jawline, and a straight nose. His cheeks are slightly hollow. His eyebrows are thick, arched and s shaped, giving him a permanent glare. They are slightly unkempt as well, but keep their shape. His right eyebrow and eye actually have a scar going down it, starting an inch above his brow and go down about an inch from the bottom of his eye. The scar is permanently a red pinkish tint. Since it cuts through his eyebrow the hair doesn't grow back in that slit like area. However, his eye was not injured when he first received the scar. His lips are heart shaped and plump for a male. They are naturally tinted pink. If one can get him to smile, he will flash a cute set of dimples, that most didn't even know he had. Kyril's eyes are an icy intense blue color. Framing his striking eyes are thick, full, curled lashes. They tend to make it seem like he has on eyeliner, but he doesn't. His hair is jet black and on the wavier side. He usually keeps it shortish and in a messy wavy fringe cut. His hair tends to fall into his eyes often.

Since Kyril is a member of the Royal Family, he will always be wearing royal armor, or clothing that represents the their Kingdom colors. Which is a dark royal blue and white. He can also be seen wearing large cloaks. If there is a war, their tradition is to wear war paint on either their faces or bodies. The paint is different depending on someones rank. The paint is a dark royal blue. His favored weapon is two axes. He does know how to shoot a bow.

Armor: Here

Helmet: Here Kyril's helmet look like this but has the same color scheme as the armor. His is different from the rest of the soldiers because of his ranking.

War Paint: Here

Personality:

Kyril is a reserved person which doesn't help his situation at all. He does not talk much, unless spoken to first. He is not a conversation starter, nor does he enjoy small talk. People tend to mistake his quietness for rudeness. Combining his height, physique, and fierce features, they do not mix well with his reservedness. It only makes him come off as intimatiding. He likes to keep to himself and those he is very close with. Which is a small circle.

In reality, Kyril is a reasonable person. He has his own morals set. He will always try to do what is right, without going against his fathers word. Although, he controls all of the Royal Milita, he doesn't think of himself as a leader. He prefers to be the one being told what to do, not the other way around.

With those he is close with, they know him as kind and giving. He puts others before himself 100 percent of the time. At time when there isn't a crowd around him, he will do small acts of kindness to the citizens of Luroth. With those he is close with or comfortable around he can be witty and sarcastic.

Likes:

Dislikes:

Strengths:

Hand to hand combat

Dual wielding with two axes

Quick thinker

Great shot with a bow and area

Able to tame just about any predator beast in the vicinity

Weaknesses:

Magic

Back Story:

Name: Piaras Somhairle of the Winter Court
Age: 20 or so, the fae don't exactly adhere to human standards of the passage of time
Gender: Male
Race: Fae, specifically he is a being known as a pooka

Occupation:
not much, filling his days with whatever he pleases. He might be a member of the Winter Court, but he doesn't really do
work. In an official capacity, he is a prince of sorts, and holds the largely ceremonial role as Master of the Hunt. Considering that he must perform the related duties on average about once a year, he is mostly there to entertain, amuse, and soak up as much gossip as he can hold.

Appearance: Piaras is relatively tall, standing about 5'10" with a willowy figure. He appears to be slightly underweight, with pointy limbs that tend to go every which way without any real sense of purpose. Although not obviously burly and lacks brute muscle, he's built like a sprinter and carries a wiry sort of strength. Everything about him just seems unnaturally long, from his spindly fingers to his overstretched legs. Even his face looks to be rather long at a glance, with narrow, slightly pinched features and sleepy green eyes. He bears a birthmark on his cheek under his left eye; a dark splash of pigment against his skin.

He's relatively dark skinned, though there is a certain coolness to his skin tone that is reminiscent of viewing autumn leaves under a layer of frost. His hair is rather thick, full of loose waves, and falls to about shoulder length. His sense of style and tolerance for his hair is at best chaotic, and he will regularly alternate from letting it hang loose to tying it back throughout the day. It appears to be some dark shade in color, and upon close examination, it's oddly closer to dark grey than black.

All in all, his appearance tends to give off a subtly chilly, but not entirely off-putting aura. He could easily pass for any average human if not for a couple of...peculiar features. Most prominent are his ears. While many of the fae bear the tell-tale pointed ears of their kind, he somehow decided to go above and beyond the call for the more common basic elvish peaks.

Instead, he has a remarkable set of midnight black ears that reach an impressive length of eleven-odd inches. They appear to be some curious combination of rabbit and horse, with the end result showing as decidedly mule-like. They are flexible, their hearing capabilities acute. In addition, he also has a tail, though bizarrely, it resembles the tail of neither a rabbit nor horse. It's closest to that of a donkey: long and slender with a brush of dark fur towards the end.

He tends to wear lightweight clothing of darker shades.

Personality: Best described as irresponsible, spontaneous, and temporarily motivated, Piaras enjoys everything and nothing, but mostly he enjoys being busy. His interests are flighty, skipping eagerly from one thing to the next with the intensity of a child trying out a variety of phases. He'll gladly obsess over one thing before suddenly losing interest and jumping to try something new. Whatever he decides to put his mind to at the moment, he always does so at one hundred percent.

While he's easily excitable, the trade off is that he's also easily bored. He'll do anything to stop the encroaching doom of existential boredom. In his mind, being boring is the worst possible crime. He doesn't keep the company of boring people.

Frustratingly enough for anyone who's recruited him to complete a task, Piaras is consistently erratic. It's a 50/50 chance that he'll even remember his commitment, let alone complete it. To most people of his position as a ranking member of a Court, this would be unforgiveably irresponsible. Fortunately, the fae have a more relaxed viewpoint of responsibilities, but Piaras' willfully forgetful behavior has been known to annoy even the most patient of members.

Other: He is a shapeshifter who mainly takes the form of a rabbit or a horse, although none of his forms appear to be perfectly natural creatures and are usually betrayed by some minor feature.

It had been about two weeks since the group out of Lugoth had been slaughtered, and it was all anyone was talking about in the courts. In that time, Piaras had heard endless rumors, elaborate stories, and plenty of excuses. Some among the Winter Court seemed to think that the humans themselves had orchestrated the deadly encounter, which he supposed was possible. It didn't make much sense, but when did their neighbors ever do anything logically? It had been a tragic incident, certainly, but the fae were not at fault.

The Lugothians, on the other hand, assumed that the courts were responsible, which was ridiculous, of course. They'd always had their differences, but his folk weren't murderers.

Well, maybe just a little. He wouldn't speak for the kelpies.

Still, even the most devious individuals of their courts were held to some degree of law, no matter how minor. The courts reigned in their own, and handled their own problems should someone happen to go too far. Word of such a breach would have traveled quickly, the culprit would have been found and reprimanded for throwing the fragile peace with their neighbors into jeopardy.

Yet, no word came, no whispers through the grapevine, or condescending nudges. The massacre remained a mystery.

When the courts failed to produce an explanation, the kingdoms of Luroth and Vogari had swiftly declared war and launched a relentless attack. The first week of fighting was fierce, fueled by anger and vengeance, but by now there had been a bit of a lull as both sides took the time to regroup and count their losses. War was ugly, but Piaras couldn't say that he didn't enjoy watching from the sidelines. Which was partly why he'd finally emerged from the shadows of the courts to get up close and personal with the battlefront. He wanted to see the mess for himself.

He was currently formed into a shape vaguely resembling a hare. Or - what might be a hare, if the creator had only an old memory to go from. The hare-like creature bore a velvety dark pelt the color of coal, black claws, and mossy green eyes. The ears were right; long and twitchy, but everything else seemed slightly off. It was almost too lanky, too wiry, like someone had picked up and stretched the creature out like putty. The tail was decidedly incorrect as well. Instead of the short tuft one might expect to see on a rabbit, it instead bore a slender tail nearly twice the length of it's already lengthy body, with a black brush of stiff fur towards the end. This tail whipped along behind as he bounded over moors and through forests.

Hare-shaped, he made his way towards the place of the massacre. He didn't have a good reason for doing so, and despite his interests in sight seeing being arguably insensitive, he didn't think twice about visiting. He slowed to a leisurely hop and crept forward through the chunks of stones which ringed the site like a wolf's teeth, ears pricked and senses tingling with electric awareness. Although the bodies had been removed earlier, the stale scent of blood remained, a lingering trace of tragedy soaked through to the roots. This place felt...odd, which was saying a lot, considering that Piaras himself was content to reside in a fog soaked etherworld. Cold trickled through his pelt as he scratched at the damp soil, and an uncomfortable silence followed his steps.

What was he looking to gain by coming here? He had hoped for some sort of insight as to what had happened and why, but this place was just an empty hollow encircled by endless moors and crashing seas. Some cowardly thing inside him didn't want to attract attention at such an odd crossroads, but at the same time, he'd never know what happened if he didn't at least try. Maybe he could set this whole thing straight if he found someone else to blame. And he'd only find someone if he lured them to his position. Fortunately, he had plenty of experience in doing so.

Rabbits don't cry, but they do scream, and that is precisely what Piaras did next. Feigning injury, he flopped over on his side, kicking and squealing as though in a tremendous amount of pain. He was a decent actor - as far as rabbits go - and this act had ensnared humans looking for an easy hunt on numerous occasions. When he did catch someone, he didn't hurt them, at least not intentionally - he just liked to give them the scare of their life. Most of the time, it was purely for pleasure, a few moments of fun, a hobby to pass the time. But for once, this act of playing the lame rabbit was business.

The massacre that erupted at the border of the neighboring Kingdoms, remained a mystery. At least to the logical people left in Luroth. One of those people being Kyril. The people of Luroth were quick to blame their neighbors, the mutants, as they like to call them. They refused to listen to reason and evidence. In a way, it was understandable. Simply because they were so afraid of change, difference. Knowing just over the border lived beings that possessed powers, not well known to the human race. That these beings only held malicious and ruthless intent towards the humans. That is the widespread belief many of the humans in the Kingdoms hold onto.

Not Kyril. He was curious. Too curious, some would say. The male had seen the corpses first hand that day. They were his soldiers. Some of his best. They were sent off with a simple task. Border control. When they hadn't returned for hours, another group was sent off. Kyril among them. What they stumbled upon was a gruesome sight that wouldn't leave their minds for years to come. The three bodies mangled beyond recognition. Two of them had strange symbols carved into the flesh. The image ingrained in Kyril's memory. One of the men was missing, that was until they found his corpse, a few feet outside of the Kingdom walls. Strange thing was, it had no injury inflicted upon the body. This one was untouched, yet cold to the touch.

It was baffling to Kyril. For a moment, he suspected a wild animal to have done this, but that suspscion didn't last long. As it was almost ridiculous. His military was strong, disciplined, and strict. Made up of the best, well known warriors around the Kingdom. Even a bear was of no issue to them. He couldn't chalk this up to be the work of some wild animal, even a group of them. It was simply impossible. That didn't explain the carvings. They still had yet to examine the bodies before they laid them to rest.

No one was a better animal expert than Kyril. At this point, he was one with them. Having tamed big and small predatory creatures. They were simple creatures. Kyril learned the ins and outs of them. He knew for a fact, this was not their doing. The thing was, he couldn't exactly put all the blame on the supernaturals either. Something about this killing was off. He could still recall that strange feeling that overcame him, as he was nearing the location of the attack. Everyone felt it. Hell, even the horses refused to walk further, forcing them to dismount and walk on foot the rest of the way. Not just regular horses. War horses they used to charge into battlefields. Fearless creatures. Yet in that moment, the large stallions stopped dead in their tracks, almost sending their experienced riders head first. Even, Kyril's 18 year old war horse refused. A stallion that had been with him through many rough battles.

Having a strong connection, as well as understanding with these creatures, Kyril knew something was wrong. He believed they were dealing with a much more sinister being. He hadn't bothered trying to explain this to his father, as the man was stubborn as a mule. The King quick to blame this on the mutants. Kyril was quick to grow irritated with the war his father declared. He felt that their resources and military were being wasted. That they were fighting the wrong enemies.

Since many in the Luroth and Vogari Kingdoms had their ears plugged, Kyril decided to explore this mystery on his own. War was exhausting and Kyril was feeling the effects of it firsthand, being the Admiral of the Royal Military. So that was exactly what the young male was doing, visiting the start of this all. This was a solo mission, he hadn't bothered to mention to anyone. Dressed in a thick black fur cloak, hood pulled over his head. He was wearing leather armor underneath the cloak, not wanting to wear anything that would weigh him down, or attract unwanted attention. Being a Prince meant he had pretty recognizable facial features, to solve that he simply pulled on a black cloth over the bottom half of his face.

Sitting on top of his unusually large black war horse, Orien, he trekked on. He could tell he was close to the site, as the horse nickered and faltered their steps. Hearing heavy thumping steps behind him, he ignored it, keeping his oceanic eyes forward. A large white mass, caught up to the rider. Keeping pace with the athletic horse. It growled at the same time the horse was slowing it's pace. "Settle down Ione." His voice was deep and rich, yet had a calm tone to it. The large white mass, known as Ione, shook its large head. Ione was in fact a large female polar bear. A mother as well, to the white puff ball hidden in Kyril's cloak. He urged the horse to keep going, reluctantly it pushed forward. The closer they got, the more that same eerie feeling filled him.

The silence was deafening as they trotted onwards, that was until an unearthly scream broke out. Kyril felt his heart jump, he hadn't expected there to be another soul out here. Except this didn't sound like a human being, no it sounded like an animal in distress. Kyril being far too fond of animals, had Orien break out into a full gallop. Straight towards the source of the screaming. Ione hot on Orien's heels. Coming to a halt, just outside of the rock formation, where the bodies were found. A small bundle of black fur seemed to be kicking and screaming in the middle of where the bloodshed had occurred. Kyril scanned his surroundings, before swiftly getting off the tall horse. The ball of cotton clung to his chest, underneath his cloak. Kyril was used to the baby polar bear's nails.

Narrowing his ocean blue eyes at the hare on the ground, he looked for signs of injury. Ione looked ready to clamp her jaws around the injured hare, and put it out of its misery. The longer Kyril looked at it, the stranger it looked. As if deformed at birth. It was weirdly lanky. Then he got a look at the tail. It looked to be a cross between a sewer rat and wild hare. He grimaced. Someone had to take this strange creature out of its misery. Ione inched closer, her large paws itching to claw it. He clicked his tongue, "Unh uh, this is a good teaching moment, Ione." He pulled gently at the large bears white scruff. He spoke to the wild animal, as if it were a human. At times, it seemed his animals he tamed understood him better than the humans he spoke to. Ione huffed, brushing her large head against his leg. It wasn’t enough force to knock Kyril over though.

Ione was massive. When on her hind legs, she stood about ten feet tall. On all fours, she came up to Kyril's waist. That was saying something as Kyril stood at an impressive 6ft 4in. She was by no means a scrawny bear either. Spoiled rotten with salmon and many other delicatables the bear craved. Many were amazed when Kyril passed by, his tamed creatures in tow. They were most impressed with his bears. Always leaving many speechless and in awe. Having control over such a powerful animal, would have impressed anyone.

At that moment, his cloak shook. A second later, Sidon, Ione's young son poked his head out at the collar of Kyril's cloak. He chuckled at the little bear's actions. Sidon sniffed wildly at the air. Slipping the small bear out he set him down on the ground next to his towering mother. Sidon eagerly bounded over to the black bundle of fur that was still writhing in pain. Shoving his small snout into its fur, he pulled back and sneezed. Kyril chuckled, "Clumsy." He shook his head. These bears never failed to amuse him. "Alright, go on teach him a killers techniques." He muttered, amusement in his tone.

Now that the bears were distracted, Kyril turned his back. His gaze focused on the ground beneath his shoes. He still held onto a lantern, as a torch might attract unwanted attention. It wasn't pitch black out just yet, but Kyril wanted to be able to see in front of him. Maybe, just maybe there was something they had missed the first time around. His leather clad feet kicking at the dirt, trying to find anything. A clue that could help solve this mystery.

Like the countless times before, it didn't take long for his little performance to draw some much-needed attention. Much-needed, in this instance, meant that he was about out of his mind with boredom and an insane sense of curiosity about the whole massacre affair - that was why he'd chosen this spot as his point of demonstration, after all. This time upon starting up his usual round of animalistic squeals, however, instead of luring some hapless young fool falling over himself in search of an easy meal, he drew what was quite possibly one of the largest creatures he'd ever seen. The ground shook underneath him with the thunder of hooves, and then an enormous white bear lumbered into view, sharp teeth flashing and claws raised.

Had he been man-sized, or even horse-sized there's little doubt that he would have been dwarfed by the bear. As a hare, however, Piaras was as insignificant as the beetles that tunnelled through the nearby trees. Surprise couldn't even begin to cover the shock that seized hold of the stunned hare as he keeled over in a very real faint.

Fortunately for him given the pressing danger, it didn't last long. A gentle shove, followed by a wet sneeze directly into his ear revived him with a start, and he flipped back, pressing himself into the ashen earth away from the bear - no, bears. There were two of them.

A solo giant bear would have been bad enough. Sure, one of the pair appeared to be fairly young, but that didn't mean it couldn't do some damage with those teeth. Piaras was plenty familiar with the "play" predatory youngsters enjoyed, and was certain of one thing: he didn't want to be the target of this teaching moment.

His eyes were huge, flashing more white than green as he cowered back and re-evaluated his rather abysmal situation. Although he could easily outwit and outmaneuver the bear youngster, the adult would present a problem. He could maybe make a dash for it, flee to the safety of the trees beyond the ring of stones, but he doubted his ability to get away before being crushed by those massive jaws, and even though he was a gambling sort, he wasn't interesting in staking his life or limb on such slim chances. He liked being able to run. And, you know, being alive was pretty great.

And then, he saw it. His salvation astride a black stallion. Human greed. Vague promises and hints of wealth and splendor and secrets worked nine times out of ten when he had to squeeze out of a tight spot.

His eyes swiveled, locking on the man for a precious second before darting back towards the bears - or at least what he thought was a man, as the person's dark wardrobe was rather concealing. A quick, panicked glance revealed little about the person's colors, alignment, or their purpose here. He did wonder why they would come to visit such a site and how much they knew about the whole affair, but that was of less importance at the moment than ensuring his survival. The hare's whole body was quivering as he cried out, and now his pleas were nearly as loudly as his death wails.

"No waitwaitwait! I'm a prince! Don't let your beasts kill me! I-I can make it worth your while!" Piaras squeaked, his voice high-pitched, terrified, and utterly unnatural as it surged forth in a clumsy ramble from the strange animal. He shrunk away, trying to inch around the young bear and towards the man in black. His eyes were as big as saucers, his movements pitiful as he tried to crawl towards the man, creeping along on his belly. "Please, show an act of kindness to a poor, helpless creature! Don't do something you'll regret! You'll never know what happened here if-if-you kill me!"

Excitement coursed through the small bears veins, as he eyed the hare. Funnily enough, he wasn't all that much bigger than the hare. Weight on the other hand, he probably had to at least 30 lbs heavier. Baby polar bears were known to be small when they were first born. Sidon at this point was about 2 months. From the looks of it, he was going to be on the smaller side when he is full grown. Sidon dashed under his mothers legs, only to pop out on the other side. The cub looked unstable on his own four paws. His back leg slipping out from under him. He quickly scrambled back up. Sidon playfully shoved at the hare, before retreating back to his mothers legs.

At this point Kyril was crouched to the ground, the lantern extended out. His gloved hand reached for one of the rocks. His movements halted, as a high pitched voice broke through the air. Kyril's brows pulled together as he shot up to his full height. Spinning around his eyes searched his surroundings. Until his gaze landed on the hare from before. Inching towards him, belly to the ground. Orien's ears flipped back, as did Ione's as the high pitched voice broke through the silence. Sending a simple command to Ione, she began walking off, Sidon in tow.

Now his attention was back to the panicked hare. Kyril closed the distance, his eyes swept his surroundings for a moment. The tall male was double checking that that voice did in fact come from this creature. Last he’d checked, hares didn’t talk, nor have a human's voice. The black cloth still covered the lower half of his face, as he eyed the hare. Letting the lantern hang loosely in one hand, this gave him a better view of the dark hare. Oddly enough the eyes were green. A vibrant green he’d never seen a hare have. They were wide eyed, clearly spooked by Kyril’s bears. He couldn’t help but notice they didn’t seem all that injured now. It still cried out, but now in desperate need for his help. The hare, or whatever it was, was making some interesting claims. What was a Prince doing all the way out here? How did this so-called Prince know what went on here?

“They won’t hurt you.” Kyril finally spoke, assuring his tamed beasts wouldn’t touch a hair on this “Prince’s,” head. His eyes narrowed as he gazed down at the talking hare. Kyril wasn’t up to date on supernaturals or their abilities, but this creature in front of him was surely not human. He’d heard of shapeshifting beings, but had never actually been face to face with one. Well, in a regular setting. He’d seen strange creatures in the war, others were in their “human” form. This probably couldn’t be called a regular setting, but close enough. It was quite a curious site. He’d heard of supernaturals having the ability to turn into massive killing beasts. This…well this was no such thing. The very opposite actually. There was nothing terrifying about this, unless maybe the hare had a hidden power of sorts. Seeing as the hare was begging him to stop his bears, well that said it all.

The bears weren’t too far off, still in Kyril’s line of sight if anything. They were no longer a threat though. Now too busy exploring their new surroundings, as well as still keeping an eye on their master. At least Ione was. That was what she was trained to do. A personal body guard if you would. Kyril motioned for the hare to keep talking. His right hand snuck back into his cloak, where it settled on a dagger hidden on his body. In the case something went wrong, he would be ready. “You say you know what happened here.” It wasn’t really a question, but a statement he wanted the supernatural to elaborate on. Seeing as he kept up his side of the plea deal. His bears were no longer threatening the hare's life, so they better cough up their end of the deal. Kyril tilted his head slightly, “Say…” His ocean eyes looking the hare up and down. “You don’t exactly look like a Prince.” He admitted, with a shrug of his shoulders. It was more so a way to get the being to say where they from and their title. Prince’s didn't look like odd hares, or at least not the Prince’s back at the human Kingdoms. Plus, they wore garments representing their Kingdom.

(Sorry this is some mediocre ass writing but I wanted to get something out before I go into a crazy work week. Sorry for the delay!)
