Speaking of, though, for some reason my brain decided it wanted to focus heavily on T8P 2.0 heavy Nico angst-

I don't know why, but I have, like, three story ideas, plus a song, plus Fiddler's Heart idea, plus Slipping Away, plus a writing of your last story with my characters POVs and I don't know what to do first so I'm procrastinating, help-

Hmmm, honestly?

Probably.

Akira would for sure be a big advocate for it, having lived in the home and all. Also, they love kids and really just want to make as much of a difference as they can to prevent what they went through from happening to even just one less kis.

And Nico would love too as well. Though that's more just because he loves the idea of being a parent, haha

Of mine, Ingall's the only one that might be hesitant. Not at all because he doesn't like kids, he loves them, literally wanted to be a teacher for the larger part of his life, it's more just self-doubt, thinking he wouldn't be a good parent. Eventually though, with some support, he'd for sure come around, and would actually probably end up being really excited about it in the end

Since how I have the River Pactolus planned out- It'd be happening when (at least almost) everyone in the polycule is between mid 30s to early 40s, most likely. Mhmmm

So, if they were to ever end up adopting kids, chances are that they already had by that time.

Out of my two- Garvin and Revan... Garvin would actually be the more hesitant one, surprise!

Not because he doesn't want to. It's just a mess of thinking he'd make a terrible parent (because obviously Clio was just a fluke, she was basically grown by the time they met, after all!). Unlike with Ingall though- All the convincing he'd need is literally just meeting a kid that needs a good home.

Like. The moment a kid shows up trying to steal something from them, the moment he meets or even sees a kid living on the streets, the moment the polycule visits an adoption center or orphanage or home that just doesn't have the right vibes to him, Garvin just immediately drops all his self-doubt down the drain because it doesn't matter at that point.

If none of that happens though then all he'd need is some support and convincing and he'd be on board.

Revan, surprisingly, wouldn't be that hesitant. He knows that the polycule would be able to stay financially stable, he knows his mother wants grandkids, he knows that he trusts at least the polycule if not himself to be good parents and just plain good people. So. Yeah.

That's honestly both adorable and sad, I love it. The polycule will all be great parents, I'm sure, lmao

Nico, after having returned to the protectors shortly after the kidnapping, finally starting to process that Ingall, Revan, and Akira are fully pulling away, reflecting on what she used to have and desperately wants still, acknowledging how, without them, things are only seeming to get worse and worse. First thinking of Revan, only remembering the good things about him, as Nico does: "I once loved a tailor who took eager care of me. Sewed together my loose ends with stitches neat and clean!"

Nico, allowing the grief to come up, thinking of Revan avoiding him despite him and Garvin very clearly continuing a relationship: "But now my love is gone and I am left unraveling... Unraveling..."

Nico, smiling slightly as they reference Garvin now: "I once loved a gardener with his dirt-smudged face and hands, trimmed my weeds and gave me room to grow my flowers again."

Nico, now acknowledging that, while Garvin is still sticking around, he's not the same, having fallen back on bad habits, always seeming distant despite physically being there: "But now my love is gone and I am left here withering... Withering..."

Nico, trying to stay composed as he now references Ingall, first speaking on the good qualities she remembers, as usual, before acknowledging that Ingall, like Revan, is distancing himself from her now, causing them to lose another support system: "I once loved a carpenter who carved a smile for me. Sanded my rough edges, crafted new and lovely things! But now my love is gone, and I can’t help the fracturing..."

Nico, starting to fully fall apart, kind of blaming himself for everyone pulling away and suggesting that maybe she didn't show how much they cared for them all: "I never knew that I needed you!"

Nico, finally losing it as they think of Akira, who is most clearly seperating themself from them, not even seeming guilty, even going as far as to get defensive if Nico tries to approach: "I once loved a man who kissed me once before he left, tied me up in knots and said he’d soon return again... But now my love is gone, and I am left unraveling..."

Yes, yes, they will be.
