@dragon ; what exactly do you mean? our characters are immune to the infection, therefore they have been bit before. they're immune because their own brains mutated around the infection that would normally cause someone to be become one of the infected ^^

I think I got it because I can't think straight, XD. But ooookay that makes so so much more sense because I am dumb today (I blame school and finals).

It would be cool if it started when a scientist was messing around with that weird zombie moss/ fungus stuff and tried it on a human body by turning/putting it into a serum. Then it worked but went horribly wrong when the fungus mutated to more of an infection that spread through the body and eventually it turned into a kind of disease.... I have way to much free time to think about crap like this...

Well the stuff I'm thinking of is called Ophiocordyceps. It's mostly found in tropical places like the Amazon. Although crazy scientist dude may have had the idea and all of his science pals called him crazy except a few. The scientist along with the ones that agreed with him (or her this ain't sexist!) got banned from the science community and decided to conduct their own illegal experiments in a secret lab provided by an unknown outside benefactor. Then they likely had the fungus smuggled in illegally from the Amazon.

Awww thank you! I do a lot of writing in my free time so whenever I get the chance to share ideas I love to! The zombie fungus was one of my favorites so I'm glad I got to share it with you! Also, this is something else that I had put to be a part of it but feel free to leave it out! I was thinking that while they are trying to reach L.A. they have an unknown bounty on their heads that they learn about later on. That's one of the reasons why so many other survivors are after them so that they can get the bounty! (which is protection from the infected by being allowed into a place called "The Bunker"). They have no idea who put the bounty on their heads, or what happens if caught, but it may or may not have something to do with the unknown outside benefactor that I had mentioned. As for what happens if they are caught.... well some say that you would be begging for death before the "fun" really begins. If you want more info lmk! I love giving ideas for stuff like this!
