as the creator, i think that a person having a pet snake or bird would be quite rare, seeing as animals can get infected too. cats would be possible, but dogs i think would be more common as they could be used in the settlements for work and just as family pets anyways ^^ |

@dragon ; go for it! but still keep in mind that the animals can in fact get infected, sometimes more easily than humans if they run off, don't listen, etc.
any size will work! i imagine a bigger-sized dog would honestly work.

Dang it now I'm low-key tempted to give AJ something like a little garter snake pet, or a small runty boa/python just to make it a little more diverse. It wouldn't be big, and would probably just stay curled up in her backpack or something, but I feel like she would have found it when it was like a baby and just be like... "I'm keeping you..." It's either that or maybe a bird or a cat because I feel guilty if I basically copy and say dog. She could also just stick with Borboun and not get a second pet. What do you guys think? |

@day ; not that it's impossible for your character to have a snake, it's just in this world, they can easily get infected. any animal can get infected, actually, therefore i think it would be rare. having her pick up a snake along the way could be possible ^^ not having it right away, if that makes sense.
goes for you too, dragon. kage could pick up a snake... i just don't really see a bird being tamed in the apocalypse lmao |

I feel like Kage would totally hace picked up a snake, probably a non-venomous one. Maybe give me a little bit more information on why they are more infectable? That'll help me decide ^-^ (Probably going to stick with the dog and horse for awhile though) |

@dragon ; the infection spreads through bite marks, scratches, saliva, etc. therefore, the infected humans sometimes hunt animals because they're not as intelligent as humans... most of the time. as stated in the first post, it is some sort of brain mutation that causes them to come back as infected, from the infection |
