Hmmm- we could either start maybe at a massive gathering/banquet or whatever, taking place after all or the majority of the heirs have taken the throne and they're all basically getting to know each other? Or, if we wanted to take a route that would be more telling of character, we could start at a sort of funeral/ceremony for one of the last of the fallen gods

I like the idea of the banquet better, but we could also have one going to the festivities, one to the funeral type deal? or save one event for later

I think it might be easier to have the funeral later and start with the banquet, that way the characters can be formally introduced and have their chance to make first impressions earlier
