Happy where he is, though being higher ranked would be fun.

Aarde is a decently sized male, 3'9 ft and 400 pounds, a nice place in the middle where he's enough to be taken seriously, and not be percived as a threat. He has a sleek build, but he is not weak. You can see his powerful muscles ripple under his golden fur.

His fur is a brownish yellow, with a bit of bronze mixed in. Its almost aways kept well groomed, not a hair out of place. His mane is the same, large in size and neat, the mix of brown fur that fades to black makes him stand out, its something he takes pride in.

Aarde isn't exactly the easiest lion to be with. His sarcastic and almost mean humor and grumpyness usually makes hanging around him hard. He's usually by himself, with a neutral angry/bored expression on his face. He can be short tempered and snappy, lashing out easily.

Despite this he truely is loving, and has some sort of affection for everyone in his own pride. Sometimes his sarcastic humor is his weird way of showing affection, though he is very protective of those he loves. He's a bit trigger happy, ready to jump into a spat whenever he can, he finds peace in ripping into lions that are trying to hurt him or those he loves, it makes him feel much more in control.

He's especially more antsy and grumpy after the fire, that left him and his pride devestated.
