Kovanu 5 || Male || Ridge Pride || King || Content Credits to HOTNStock on DA for images. Kovanu is a large male, though certainly not the tallest out there. His shoulders sit at 3.9 feet and he weighs in just over 400 pounds. His body is riddled with battle scars and hunting trophies, the most noticeable of which is a jagged crack across his right cheekbone, just under his eye. He also has a few prominent patches of scarring on his tail and chest. Kovanu has an interesting appearance, mostly stemming from his partial Kalahari bloodline. He is lighter than most, though he is certainly not albinoid. His eyes are blue and almost always slightly narrowed so as to protect them from the sunlight, since he is extra-sensitive to it. His coat is a dusty pearl-champagne mix and it never deviates from that color. Kovanu's build is a stocky, powerful one, built much more for battle than hunting. While he is still capable of the latter, he is much more useful as a finisher than a chaser; his muscling and size slow him down. He has good stamina and okay agility, but his physical forte is definitely brute force. Personality He is a stern, no-nonsense lion. Everything about him is steady, composed, and regal. He has an air about him that is both calming and fear-inducing. He is a creature who demands respect, and one who returns it where it is due. On the other hand, he will meet an attack with ten thousand times the fury, showing little mercy and even littler compassion. His pride's safety comes before his own, and even the hint of a threat towards them spells danger for the perceived menace. He is a powerful combatant, both physically and in matters of the mind. A quick wit, a sharp tongue, and a piercing gaze are equally as important to him as physical prowess. His sense of loyalty is strong to his pride as a whole; while there are some individuals who piss him off (ahem, Shiva), he still cares for them. After all, it is his duty as well as his love. He is not one to hold grudges, but he will act out of vengeance. Once his revenge is complete, though, all is forgiven. Of course, the subject of his retaliation is usually dead, by then. While he is a quieter figure, he should not be underestimated. Hell hath no fury like a king scorned -- and he is quite easy to get on the bad side of. While he does not react strongly to personal jibes, the violent and threatening side of him is activated when mutterings are said of his family, friends, and pride. He does not take such mockings lightly. Kovanu is a strict leader. He holds those around him to the rules and expects them to be the best that they can be; he pushes them to be so. He does not tolerate constant bad behavior and is not afraid to kick someone out over it. He is not cruel, though; his rulings among pride members are just. He takes care to spend a little extra time with the young of the pride, working with them and training them to be adept at both hunting and fighting. Both are important to him, and he wants every member of the pride to feel like they have a fighting chance in any less-than-desirable scenario. Appearance: Stock Image. Credits go to witchfinder-stock on DA This male is a specimen of a lion. He bears a sturdy frame that is tall in stature, being 4ft in height. If his height was already intimidating then his weight at 390 lbs is something to revel at. Not necessarily the largest male out there but one who would do well in a fight. He has a well toned and muscular build and it can be seen when he runs and fights. Not to mention old scars that litter his skin, the most noticeable scar of his is on his thigh where three long gashes lay, long since healed. He doesn't like talking about said scar either. This male has an intimidating gaze with sharp olive colored eyes, that have some hint of amber undertone within them. His mane is large and full containing mainly strands of wheaten colored hair at the top with some dark black and brown strands near the bottom and on his chest. He also has small tufts of hair coming from his elbows that are dark brown with a bit of red at the tips, surprisingly. This male smells like fresh rain on a spring morning.
Personality:
This male is a rather stern individual. Constantly having a seemingly stoic or stern expression on his face. He is one to always be alert and on his guard - he doesn't like to laze around , yes this male is quite diligent. He can be found assisting wherever needed : watching cubs for a tired mother, assisting in hunting larger game, patrolling , listening to the woes of another, taking orders from the higher up's , no - you will not find this male idle. He finds laziness a horrid trait and he scoffs and scorns the lazy ones, whether they be lazy of mind or body. This can lead to him overworking himself and some times he does need to be told to "sit the fuck down and rest." However, he is stubborn about resting - he views it as being lazy and not doing anything - he just wants to move around, sitting down and doing nothing just doesn't feel right. Once he does sit down and gets relaxed he's quite different , he doesn't like his naps or sunbathing interrupted - so sure he may despise lazing about but he does understand the perks and benefits of it it's just not a usual occurrence with him. The only time he can be found lazing about if he is absolutely exhausted , he's feel he's about to pass out, or someone ordered him to sit down. This male can be described as a very leader-like individual. He is one who knows how to take control when the time needed. He can be a firm and strong leader. One who leads with a firm, yet gentle voice and iron paws yet a certain father-like roughness to them. In some instances he can embody the spirit of an older brother or even father - with his gentle and teasing mannerisms with those he adores and trusts or a stern chiding when someone has done something wrong and the certain protectiveness of the younger members. Yes, even if this male is in denial of his 'big brother' or 'dad' energy he just oozes it. While he can have this kind and gentle nature at times he knows how to flip it like a switch when needed. Yes, the roughness of this male shows - from a menacing glare, a flash of his fangs, or the swipe of his paws to your face if needed. Oh - yes, this male can go from a mild mannered creature to one of a violent nature. Yes, he knows exactly how to fight with both his words and claws when needed. His anger is more so shown through his words than physical actions, he prefers to verbally assault and mentally assault someone who offends or finds themselves on his bad side. Whether it psychoanalysising them to the point it leaves them quaking or pulling all the stops with verbally destroying them. Rarely, if ever will he resort to physical violence - the only slight physical move he would make would be is to roughly bump into them or cut them off from getting to their destination. Only when the pest tries to physically attack him will he show his prowess. Yes, in honesty this male is of a more passive-aggressive nature when it comes to anger. While he doesn't like confrontation he will engage in it if needed and he isn't afraid to stop a fight if it's pointless. This male is a more of a quiet nature, not one to quickly socialize - unless he is doing favors or small tasks that require conversation. He's one to silently slink around and help out from the shadows , very humble and not one to flaunt his rank (if he had one) - yet, he'd still expect the respect due to him if he was of a higher rank but even if he was a regular member he still wants to be respected. While he may be quiet, that doesn't mean he doesn't know how to vocalize his opinions/thoughts on certain matters. Yes he's quite but by no means is he shy. Overall, this male can be a rather pleasant creature to be around but it just depends on you rub him. This male is very protective of both his friends and family, his friends being like family to him as well - so their children are his honorary nieces and nephews if his friend deems him worthy of such a title.
